I am also a complete and total raging shoe addict. I can't resist a uniquely adorned or brightly colored pair of shoes. I am hitting upwards of 150 pairs of shoe's and my husband may divorce me if I come home with another pair! But I love each of them like my children. I dress rather conservatively...until you get to my shoes. You will typically find me in all black or in jeans and a white button up shirt with a rainbow of brightly colored shoes on my feet. I love to coordinate eye shadow and liner colors to my shoes. I let my eyes and my feet do the talking! SO FUN and makes me HAPPY all day long (insert use of URBAN DECAY here!). My new obsession is facial cremes. As I enter my mid thirties I am greatly concerned about emerging wrinkles, reversing sun damage and getting a more porcelain looking skin tone. My tanning days are over and its me against the clock now! GLAM ON megsmakeup gals!!!
I cannot stand the oily consistency of most "oil free" make up removers and searched for ages for a mild remover that doesn't burn my eyes or leave an oil slick behind. I finally realized that Mary Kay's Creamy Cleanser 2 (an actual face wash and NOT marketed as a remover) does the job beautifully. My makeup comes off easily, I don't have to tug at the delicate skin around my eyes to get my mascara and liquid liner to come off, it doesn't burn AT ALL and my eyes are nicely moisturized with absolutely NO OIL. I have tried SO many other products and stumbled upon this product by accident. I love it and highly recommend it to anyone who wants sting and oil free make up removal.
To really get glam (out for dinner or a date with my hubby) it takes me about an hour and a half...if I'm not on a time schedule it's more about 2 hours because I stop about every 45 minutes or so for a cocktail break! I have naturally curly hair and find it looks best when I let it air dry so that adds time. Even diffusers leave me frizzy and my curls out of control. For a typical day at work or weekend morning I can usually get in under an hour if I do my full skin care regime, go light on the makeup and upsweep my hair.
Mine would have to be the Great Lip Liner Debacle of 1990. I was a sophomore in high school...that was the year Pretty Woman came out and I was OBSESSED with Julia Roberts lips. I have a thin upper lip (which I HATE) and read a makeup tip somewhere that said to make your lips look fuller blot out your natural line with concealer and redraw the line outside of your regular lip line. I happily complied and ended up looking like I missed my lip completely. My mom was SO sweet about it. She just gave me a knowing little chuckle and let me figure out my mistake on my own without embarrassing me or making me feel like the clown I actually looked like! GO MOM...you're the best!
I've been told Meg Ryan before the cosmetic surgery days. I have a very "When Harry Met Sally" kind of cuteness to my face. I've never been what you would call pretty or beautiful but I am damn cute with a bubbly personality.
