About Me:

I'm in college and an English major. I'd like to edit books and maybe teach at a college.
I live in a small city, whose only claim to fame is for being the birth-place of a few famous people - but you wouldn't know where they were born even if you were a fan. The closest Sephora is unfortunately in Atlanta and I so wish it wasn't. I work at a motorcycle dealership, though I really know next-to-nothing about motorcycles. Sweet tea is my drink of choice, until I turn 21and then it'll probably change to something else (wine perhaps). I used to be more of a "natural" makeup type until Meg'sMakeup got a hold of me and now I'm leaning more towards "Glamour Gal."

My Beauty Secret:

Wash face only twice daily, moisturize, brush teeth twice daily to keep them white, use GoSMILE if you need it (I do!), never buy anything that doesn't make you feel fabulous, eat well, laugh lots, and drink up!

My Routine:

I can do my entire daily routine in less than 10 minutes. Mineral foundation, bronzer in the summer, blush, BE Mineral Veil to set, draw on brows, add lipstick and baby, I'm gone! Glam? We're talking at least 20. Smashbox primer first, do daily routine, plus black liner (tight-lined), shadow(s), colored liner if I feel like it, curl lashes, mascara, comb out clumps. Step back, assess, smile at result, then grab the purse and have fun!

My Horror Story:

The days where I'm not wearing ANY! haha :)

I have thin, sparse, blonde eyebrows. (Weird, since I'm such a dark brunette.) One day I got the brilliant idea to have them dyed to make the most of what I have. I decided to toss in a brow wax while I was at it. So I went and got it done and the woman handed me a hand mirror to see the end result. I handed it back to her, gave her a vague smile and left. I got in the car with my mom (I wasn't driving at this point) and looked at her like "well?" She took one look at me and said, "they're awful! Who did them?" I knew they were, but I needed confirmation that they were as horrible as I thought they were. I had a pencil thin, comma-shaped stripe of brown where my eyebrows should have been. I looked like I had sneezed really hard when I was putting on eyeliner and missed my eye.

So, so horrible. I've never had another wax and I haven't set foot in that place again.

My Celebrity Look-a-like:

I've never been told I look like anyone famous. Maybe Howard Stern on a really, really, really bad day! hahaha!

I can't live without this product...

Bare Minerals makeup

Absolutely THE best mineral foundation that I've ever tried. It is one of the first things that I ever saw on an infomerical that I gave a shot. (Well, I tried it at Sephora) I tried it and I've never looked back. Mineral makeup is the best thing for my skin. It covers, conceals, and perfects, just as promised. Story time: I once found a bottle of CoverGirl liquid foundation that I quit using after I found Bare Minerals. I decided to put some on, thinking I should use it up. After I put it on, I stepped back and nearly screamed. My face looked like a mask! It looked completely fake and plastic and matte and pasty and I looked like a ghoul. I had to wash my face and start my makeup over. No WAY was I leaving the house looking like that! I pushed out every thought of being wasteful or anti-green and threw that stuff in (as my grandmother puts it) the gar-bahge. For you DD Divas: Now if the budget's tight, I do use Maybelline Mineral Power foundation. That's the best drugstore brand that I've tried, but chuck the brush! When I mushed it against my face, the bristles spread too much to be of any use.

I wouldn't die, but I would suffer greatly without this product...

Smashbox Photofinish primer and Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It

This is the first and only primer I've ever tried. It does a good job of filling in my large pores and creating a smooth canvas for my makeup. But for goodness sakes, when you think you've run out, take off the pump, get a q-tip and scrape it out! I swear, there are at least 5 more uses out of that bottle if you do this. Hey, by getting every last bit, you could save yourself a little more money and you could get another beauty product!

Philosophy Purity cleanser

Favorite!!! I love this stuff. When I travel, I seriously carry a little bottle of it with me, because I just can't use any hotel soap or tolietries on my face. They make me feel like I have a residue, which dries to a mask on my face. (And I doubt that I'll get any pore-tightening benefits from this mask!) It totally dissolves all my makeup that I wear on a daily basis (except this new waterproof Covergirl Lash blast mascara that I just tried, I didn't like it.) and does it quickly to boot.
