My Beauty Secret:
I'd love to share any beauty secret if it helps others:-D!
My Routine:
I would say I got a lot of routine in putting make-up on over the years, so including hair it takes me about 25-30 minutes to get ready. I have to be somewhat careful with putting on my eye make-up as I'm wearing contacts (since I'm 14 though;-)...).
My routine starts off with getting my face CLEAN, including cleansing gel-astringent-and in the evening before going to bed it includes eye make-up remover. Very unspectacular, I would say. I use mostly Neutrogena products for skincare.
For make-up I start with putting on primer by Bare Escentuals, I like the "prime time"-primer. They got one for oily skin, too but it makes at least me break out a little. I prefer the simple primer, although my skin tends to be oily, but whatever. After this I put on mousse make-up, I like it better than really liquid stuff. I use the "Dream Matte Mousse" and afterwards finish with "Dream Matte Powder" from Maybelline. It's not too expensive, yet effective and a little goes a long way. You want your skin looking natural but flawless at the same time? This is the perfect combination, especially if you tend to have combination or oily skin.
Well, afterwards, as you can see on my profile picture, I follow with my regular make-up routine...mainly eye make-up.
For lips, I use a lipliner by LORAC (at Sephora) or Smashbox.
My Horror Story:
Being out in public and having left my make-up bag at home;-))....I'm a touch up freak, lol.
Another REAL horror story: A perm when I was 18. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm glad I don't remember either. Neither me nor my parents have pictures whatsoever of this time period (until it grew out abit and the curls were really curls and not...rotini...yes, the pasta look), haha.
I absolutely love this powder because Maybelline is by far the only brand I know (by now) which came out with a VERY FAIR / light shade of pressed powder. All other drugstore brands I compared don't even come close and believe me, with having a very fair skin tone like me, it's HARD to find the right powder and makeup (from the same line) not looking overdone at the same time. The powder has a medium-high coverage and stays on mostly all day (if used in combination with the makeup, you should have no probs), even on oily skin. Price is affordable and almost every drugstore has it:-).
It's probably more a "treatment" rather than a moisturizer, but as I have oily skin and tried about EVERYTHING to control the shine, I simply use this as a daily moisture cream. It's lightweight, smells great (fresh cucumber scent!) and leaves your skin just feeling fresh all day. It doesn't dry my skin out, just balances it out and it's by far the only creme/gel that doesn't make me break out.I use it day and night after my cleansing routine.
Yes, yes and YES!! After shopping at Sephora online a couple weeks ago, I received a sample of the no frizz-styling spray. After trying it out for the first time, I was already speechless;-).Because I am dying my hair constantly (I guess since I was 14, I have dark brown hair as my natural hair color) I have to deal with issues such as breakage/split ends and dryness. Usually I use a set of moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, finishing off with an additional leave-in conditioner (e.g. Herbal Essences "None of your frizzness leave-in creme"). But right now, after having used this sample for the first time, I tried it just after shampooing, without using a conditioner of any kind. The result is amazing!!
