I tend to keep my makeup looking natural during the day, but I love playing with colors and experimenting with new looks. For me, concealer and eyeliner is an everyday must.
As far as skin care goes, I'm still trying to figure out my routine and what works best for me. I've had acne since my early teenage years and it has still persisted through adulthood. I'd do nearly anything to control it and am open to trying new products, but my skin is rather sensitive. On top of that, I started to notice bags under and wrinkles around my eyes (no doubt from my lack of sleep), so I've been actively trying to nip it.

My Routine:
Make up:
It really depends on how much time I have, but it usually takes me 10 minutes to get ready. I put on moisturizer and while I wait for it to sink in, I apply powder to my eyebrows to give them more shape. I then add concealer to my acne blemishes (sigh) to reduce their redness and underneath my eyes to minimize the darkness from the lack of sleep that comes with the territory of being a student. For my eyes, I add liner and then mascara. Then, depending on the day, I may add eyeshadow. After all of this, I may add foundation (EDM's Sandy Olive) depending on my complexion that day.
Morning skin care:
- Splash warm water and use Shiseido's Pureness Foaming cleanser
- Dry face and apply Thayer's witch hazel on a cotton pad all over my face
- Apply moisturizer with SPF
Evening skin care:
- Generally, same as morning routine without the moisturizer
- Once a week I use a mask (Shiseido or Mario Badescu)
- Twice a week I exfoliate
- Before bed, I apply either a night lifting cream or anti-wrinkle cream (alternate every other night)
I have looked for a great toner that restored moisture back into my skin and I found it! Thayer's alcohol-free rose water witch hazel has infused aloe vera and other goodies (like vitamin E) that makes me feel completely refreshed. I would definitely recommend getting a trial size to see how you and your skin feels with this. For me, it made all the difference and I have been using it every day for the past 2 years.
I've been using this for as long as I can remember. I've tried other brands or types of lip treatments, but they just don't compare. I love this stuff-- h/g worthy. I literally can't leave home without it (I'll admit that I've turned around & driven back home before when I realized that I didn't take it with me).
(I removed my review because of the change in formulation in the company's foundation. If anyone knows what the shade Sandy Olive is in another mineral makeup line, please PLEASE leave a message and let me know. I'd be forever grateful!)
