it took me until well into my 20's to realize that the reason for my breakouts was due to the fact that i had reeeally dry skin and was drying it out even more with harsh over-the-counter acne treatments. now, having used primarily mineral makeup and a mostly all-natural skincare regimen for the past 2 years (chagrin valley soaps & GOW/silknaturals skincare, followed by a thorough clarisonic scrubbing every few days), my skin is finally happy again!
My Routine:
on a typical day, probably 10 mins max:
moisturize with a mix of GOW carrier oils & homemade spray
EDM pressed powder in Light, Golden Medium, or Fairly Light Golden, depending on the day
EDM Natural Reflections in either Light or Golden Tan
Blush/ occasionally, i'll also use bronzer (really liking EM's summer bronzer)/highlight with mac msf
My Horror Story:
when i was around 12, i tried plucking my eyebrows for the very first time. i was also extremely nearsighted, and did not yet wear contacts, so i pretty much plucked clumps of hair out at random. needless to say, the end result was not pretty....
My Celebrity Look-a-like:
a much less glamorous version of joan chen or that girl from the original sassy girl
I am loving Everyday Minerals new pressed powders. I love the packaging - they now come in sturdy recyclable plastic compacts, with a mirror and a flip cover between your powder and the mirror that is intended to hold a flat powder puff. As for the powder itself, I love the new formulation. It glides on like silk and leaves a nice finish that's not too heavy, yet manages to conceal imperfections.
I love nearly everything Everyday Minerals offers, but if I have to narrow down my favorites, I'd definitely have to give a shoutout to their Natural Reflections sunscreen powder. Not only does it boost the sunscreen properties of their foundations, it also lends my somewhat dry complexion a very pretty finish. I would recommend this to everybody!
I forget exactly how I discovered this soap, but am soooooooo glad I did. In the past, I've used both drugstore and highend skincare products, but all the ones I've tried have either dried out my skin or broken me out or both. I use this soap for both my body and face, and so far, this has been the only soap that not only doesn't dry out my face, but also doesn't cause me to break out. This, combined with a pretty much all-natural skincare routine, has helped keep my skin relatively clear. I hope they never stop making this soap!!!!
