I'm a Colorado girl going to school in Minnesota. My heart is split between those two states and Paris, my third home where I lived for a semester. I blame Katie (Kate2004Rock) for getting me addicted to this amazing site and even more addicted than I already was to makeup, perfume, and all things beauty-related.

My Beauty Secret:
Putting lotion on my legs right after getting out of the shower, while they're still damp and dewey. The lotion locks in moisture, which is a God-send in dry Colorado! Also, using aloe vera on all kinds of burns: sun, chemical, or razor. Seriously! If you feel razor burn coming on after a shower, put on some aloe vera gel (even the cheap stuff works!) and your legs will feel and look so much better! Finally, I discovered this one recently: use Elmer's glue as a mask on your face! Yep, that stuff you used in elementary school and costs 99 cents tightens pores and pulls out blackheads. (FYI: It's non-toxic, so it won't melt your face off.) I wouldn't believe it until I tried it, but I put a thin layer on my T-zone, waited for it to dry, peeled it off, and voila!
My Routine:
No fuss days: an hour at most Going out on the town or Date Night: 2 hours A HUGE Deal: ... hell, all day practically.
My Horror Story:
This one is a recent hair trauma story...
I broke up with a boy: dyed my hair dark brown. Started feeling better about myself and was ready to go back on the market: bleached it Barbie blonde. Now I'm in the process of slowly getting it back to regular blonde with some highlights. The horrifying part: it's breaking off where it was bleached.... so I have some nice pieces that stick up an inch straight off my head. FML.
Long ago, I completely gave up on ever really wearing eyeshadow. It would always fall off my face about 2 seconds after I left the bathroom where I applied it. I tried some eye primers, and various other "tricks" that were supposed to make eye makeup stay put, but nothing worked... Until one day when I discovered (thanks to my darling Katie) the magic of Urban Decay and it's amazing priming and holding powers. It really does work wonders, holding my eyeshadow on for hours at a time! I think I really would die without it.
I love this stuff! It keeps me looking nicely flushed all day. Without blush, I kind of look sickly. Since this stays on my face all day, I never have to worry about it.
Yes, I'm a Mary Kay lover in a lot of cases. But how could I not be? Mary Kay helped get rid of my acne in middle school/high school and saved me from lots of embarrassment. So I'm kind of indebted to it. Anyway, I love this stuff in particular because it's nice and light on your skin. I use it in the morning right before I put on my foundation, and then I use it at night after washing my face. It's never given me a breakout, doesn't have a strong smell, and is a great moisturizer in general. In dry Colorado, it keeps my skin nice and hydrated; in humid Minnesota, it doesn't make my face oily and gross.
