Beauty about me: I enjoy trying new products, whether it is skin care, makeup, lotions, or just about anything. My main obsession is and always has been lipgloss or pretty much any lip products. Lately I have been really trying to go organic (so I use Pangea Organics facial care) and get into mineral makeup (just started using EDM). It just seems so much better for you, and better for the environment. My new love is Orglamix mineral makeup from etsy, especially the eyeshadows, so lately I've been an eyeshadow freak.
General about me: I went to college for digital media (hence the photoshopped pics), I live with my boyfriend in cold cold Wisconsin and work at a newspaper. My other obsessions besides beauty products are: music (pretty much all except for country), concerts, music festivals, travelling, literature (was also an english major), cooking, and photography. I feel like a contradiction sometimes - I'd describe myself as a liberal hippie type, yet I love beauty products and keeping in the know about them. I also enjoy meeting new people so feel free to friend me!

My Beauty Secret:
I guess the one I found out about on here is using the Monistat Anti Chafing gel as a primer, it really does work great, especially for mineral makeup - and it's so inexpensive! I also have started using eye cream religiously at night - I have one from Pangea Organics and one from Arbon, I'd say that the Pangea one is my favorite. I just turned 25 and judging from my parents, I may get crow's feet as I get older - trying to stop this before it starts! I also love John Frieda's smoothing gloss for my hair, it takes care of frizz and makes my hair soft and silky.
My Routine:
Usually about 10 minutes - this includes moisturizer if my skin is a bit dry, I use the Monistat anti chafing gel as primer, EDM mineral foundation and veil, either light blush, Tarte Cheek Stain in Cloud 9, or BE glow in Cheerful, eyeshadow and mascara. For night if I'm doing smokey eye and curling my hair it takes a bit longer. I have really thick hair so blow drying or curling takes forever, so that's not an everyday thing. Most days I let it air dry and it gets pretty wavy if I use a bit of mouse and a shine serum.
My Horror Story:
Once I used a bleach blonding kit to make my already blonde hair "1-2 shades lighter". Of course it turned my hair banana yellow, and I was nicknamed banana head my entire freshman year of high school, and laughed at as soon as I walked into every class. My prom photos from that year are terrible, I have dark roots and this bright yellow hair. I haven't dyed my hair since!
My Celebrity Look-a-like:
Just got Scarlett Johansson the other night, I wish!
I just started using Pangea organics about a month ago, and it is by far the best skin care system I have ever used. It smells great, leaves my skin feeling clean and healthy, and I have noticed an overall improvement in the look of my skin (ie smoother, more even-toned). Plus every box comes imbedded with the seeds of a tree that you can plant! I think it's really great how dedicated they are to being green/helping the planet.
I recently tried these after seeing someone raving about them on this site, and now I am raving about them too. All the shades I've gotten so far are so gorgeous in the pot that you hardly want to wear them. They all blend well together and with just 5-6 shades you can achieve many different looks. Now I'm addicted and keep buying more and more :) Cheri (the owner) is super nice and willing to pick shades for you if you're not sure what to get, and she ships out faaast.
