MyOwnJudge's Profile
I'm a product addicted, debt (self) inflicted young lady who loves to gab about many a thing beauty and fashion related via my blog (www.myownjudge.net) or anything else I can get my hands on. I am a proud mixed baby (mother is Russian Jewish and dad is Arabic), and am often the hardest to define when people try guessing backgrounds and nationalities.
I love the hustle and bustle of the city (NYC) and find that the city that never sleeps is perfect for the girl that never sleeps either (moi!). I juggle two jobs and the blog along with a personal life with big dreams of success, and daily attempts for even the smallest triumphs with happiness.
-Spanx may be the secret that everyone knows about - but really - something with severe suck in power is mandatory.
-The Magic Blender works wonders with makeup application and makes everytime I use makeup look as though I've gotten the celebrity treatment. I love it the most for how quickly it covers up dark circles before work. I even use it in the dark and get flawless application!
-Always use a lip balm before going to sleep. This helps the most during colder seasons, but will have yo waking up with feathery soft lips each morning. Who hates that?
-Always have q-tips handy for makeup fixes.
-Drink water to keep hunger pangs at bay (it'll be good for your body and skin too!).
When I wake up, after I wash my face and brush my teeth, I put on Korres moisturizer with SPF & some sheen on my hair (being that my hair is curly, I only really brush it when I wash it...). As far as makeup is concerned, unless there's an event or extra time in my morning (if there is, it's usually spent in bed) I won't use much makeup. Normally, all I have to do is put on concealer as an eyeshadow base on my eyes with my magic blender in the morning and swipe on some lip gloss on my way to the door.
Being a NY gal, I am always on public transportation and can be found doing most of my beauty routine there. I'll swipe on some mascara with my top 3 mascaras - Lancome Oscillation, MAC Plush Lash & Chanel Inimitable. All three can be applied quickly in moving vehicles and have perfect application. If I'm feeling fancy I'll add some bright lipstick on top of my gloss or some eyeshadow (I've perfected the smokey eye via finger application). If I have an event to go to, you'll find me smudging blush and nail polish on the train as well. (Yes. I do all this in moving vehicles. Who cares about an audience?!)
If my day is hectic, I'll try to make the most out of my lunch break and head over to Sephora for a makymyselfover.
I don't really have a horror story outside of when I went crazy with the black eyeliner and turned into a raccoon in high school...
I also colored my hair once and had stained my scalp and had an orange ring outside my hairline for a whole week...
Sometimes when my hair is super frizzy people say Mona Lisa or some other type of painting from way back (... go figure), other times, when my hair is behaving in its most glorious bouncy curls, the little girl who did the pepsi commercials.
