Red lipstick!

I love red lipstick.  It never goes out of style, looks as great with jeans as it does with a gown and makes a statement even when worn without other cosmetics.  I love that you can pop on your red lip and look done without anything else, even foundation.  This is the main reason I often wear it at the shore.  I love the look of a completely natural face, no foundation or mascara, and a bright red lip.  I don't usually use a lip liner, as I think the lack of precision keeps the look more modern.  The lipstick in the photo is my current fave.  It is Chanel Aqualumiere in #65 Party Red.  I wish it was a little less sheer, but it can be layered for varying intensity and one coat is lovely in its own right.  I own multitudes of red lipsticks and I'm forever on the hunt for the absolute perfect shade, one with lots of orange.  Finally, although people have varying opinions about the etiquette of applying makeup in public, there is a certain cache to applying your red lipstick in full view!
