Hi girls! My name is Indigo, though almost everyone calls me Indi. I started wearing makeup when I was about 12 and it has turned into a life long love affair. My very proper grandmother was aghast as I applied powder from my compact. My hippie mother took it all in stride. In time I would even try to teach my Mom to apply makeup. This was an unsuccessful venture, she stayed a confirmed natural woman. I thought maybe I could lure her with the super-organic packaging of Origins in the mid 90's, but no luck. I am in kind of a minimalist phase right now. Barely there concealer, one coat of mascara and red lipstick. This however doesn't mean I won't try every new product I can get my hands on.

My Beauty Secret:
My two best beauty weapons, I'm not sure they are secrets, are Chanel perfume (usually #19 or Coco) and red lipstick ( I like an orange-red). I am forever in search of the perfect orange-red lipstick. Right now I am partial to Yves Saint Laurent sheer lipstick in #1 red strass. It is shiny and sheer and has spf 15. I like products that have an spf, since my boyfriend is a sailing fanatic and I spend lots of hours at the ocean.
My Routine:
An unavoidably long shower. I use WEN in Sweet Almond Mint or Lavender and I almost always shave my legs etc. I have tried waxing, but I hate to let it grow. I just don't feel pretty with stubbly legs. Then it's on to moisturizer. I pretty much always use Body Drench original moisturizer. That stuff is amazing. Cellulite cream, Clarins, or Sally Hansen makes a good one if I'm low on $. I let my hair air dry, except for the bangs. Then sunscreen, concealer, lipstick and perfume. After that I'm done. It takes about an hour. Back in my mid 20's I used to open a bottle of champagne and my boyfriend, who was a DJ, would spin house music from the 70's-90's while I got ready for us to go out. Now it's a chore with a capital C!
I absolutely love the Rare Minerals treatment line by Bare Escentuals. The blemish treatment is a powder that works very quickly to eliminate blemishes and clogged pores. It is translucent so you can use it under the Rare Minerals night treatment in the PM and under your mineral makeup in the AM. The Rare Minerals night treatment is minerals derived from virgin soil that you apply after your night time cleanser and moisturizer. It is tinted and goes on similarly to the mineral makeup, but it increases skin's radiance and deminishes fine lines. These products are effective over time and really improve the tone and texture of skin, but they also perfect skin immediately, much like regular mineral makeup. So you go to bed with flawless skin and wake up with
I love red lipstick. It never goes out of style, looks as great with jeans as it does with a gown and makes a statement even when worn without other cosmetics. I love that you can pop on your red lip and look done without anything else, even foundation. This is the main reason I often wear it at the shore. I love the look of a completely natural face, no foundation or mascara, and a bright red lip. I don't usually use a lip liner, as I think the lack of precision keeps the look more modern. The lipstick in the photo is my current fave. It is Chanel Aqualumiere in #65 Party Red. I wish it was a little less sheer, but it can be layered for varying intensity and one coat is lovely in its own right. I own multitudes of red lipsticks and I'm
