Dermalogica: Daily Microfoliant
I just found this product. I know there is no such thing as a "SILVER BULLET" cure. However, in my opinion this is darn close. I have been using this for about 30 days and it has radically changed the appearance of my skin. This is gentle enough to use every day. (I have even used it 2x a day when my skin is acting up.) It has kept my skin clear and looking bright. Here is the product description:This unique, Rice-based enzyme powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. Our unique Skin Brightening Complex of Rice Bran, Salicylic Acid, Green Tea, Grapefruit and Licorice helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation. Papain and other active agents derived from Rice Bran and Rice Extract help to regulate melanin production while micro-exfoliating dead cells. A super-soothing blend of Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal calms inflammation, leaving the skin extraordinarily clear and refreshed. Gentle enough to use on a daily basis. Contains no artificial fragrance or color. Professional recommendation advised.

Since writing this I have developed what I think may be an allergy to something in this mineral makeup. I hope to be able to go back to my old favorite. However, my skin needs to recover from the reaction. If this product no longer works for me I will remove it and put another product!
Oh, Hao, how awful. I hope this isn't true, but, either way, I hope you recover soon!
Me too! Wearing liquid foundation (I am at a confernce for work) is not one of my best looks. I probably am out of practice so, I cannot totally blame the foundation. I do miss the way it looks on my skin. You could call it the "sheen". I wish I could be at home during this time. However, What can a girl do? I should just be grateful to have a job in this economy.
Bummer on being away from home. If you are like me, stuff like this ALWAYS happens when I am away. I hear you on the liquid foundation. Have you tried tinted moisturizer, or even cutting your foundation with moisturizer? I do this a lot if I am not wearing mineral makeup. I find my favorite liquid foundation seems way to heavy unless I mix it with a bit of moisturizer. Then it looks much lighter, but I get some coverage. And sometimes then if I think I need more, I lightly dab some of the liquid foundation as concealor and it blends much better.
Also, see if you can find the new spray foundation from classified cosmetics. Kind of a combination of the best of both worlds. It's a very light mist, but it covers well. And it's minerals!
Carole
Carole, I keep hearing about the Classified Cosmetics spray and will have to try that. I like the idea of that and it seems like CC consistently gets good reveiws!
CC is still in the early stages of the rollout, so they might not be in your area yet with the new product. You can probably get the ERA stuff still, but the new product is so inexpensive it's just fab! I cannot believe how many compliments I've been getting since I switched to it. I'm getting a big head!
Carole
Carole, thanks I will watch for it.Uh, Carole. Is your age listed correctly? You SOOOOOO don't look it. What is your entire facial routine?
Where can I find this Classified Cosmetics? i live in the Pacific NW. I am pretty sure it is not at my ULTA or Sephora?
I want to invesigate!
You know you have found the correct thing with the compliments come rolling in!! :)
Too much! Yes I really AM 61 years old, but I can't believe it either. I'm retired so my stress level is pretty low - I think that helps. Here's my routine: Suki to exfoliate first thing. Then I mix a drop or two of Caudalie Vinoperfect serum with my moisturizer. I change moisturizers frequently, but right now it's Suki. THEN, the Monistat chafing powder/gel stuff that we learned about here on Megs. That's my new primer and it's as good as Smashbox. REALLY! Then a spritz of Aero-Minerale foundation, patting as needed. Then a quick spritz of Aero-Minerale bronzer and a little patting. I finish up with eyes and lips and I'm done. I can now get this all done in about 15 minutes. Hao - you might not be able to get the Aero-Minerale in your area yet as it's just being introduced. They started the rollout in NYC, LA, Memphis, and Oklahoma. I know, pretty random! But go to website www.aerominerale.com and you can order it. It's being sold in drugstores. Good luck!
Carole
Thanks, Carole. I totally agree about the stress. Thanks for your tips!
Carole- Thanks for taking the time! I am going to look up Aero right NOW!! :)
I love my kit! Sorry this didn't work out for you. Foundation is soo tricky. It's listed as one of my favs too.
My skin never liked minerals :( Hope you find something new that works for you!! Also we live in the same city :)

Mineral makeup is amazing, isn't it? I use EVeryday Minerals, but I had the same problems as you did with liquid, and now I LOVE playing with my makeup.
I love all sorts of exfoliants.. this one sounds good, but $50 for 2.6oz. is too rich for my blood...maybe if it were 6oz. I'd indulge.
