Foundation brushes, while seemingly silly, are actually awesome. Try it, dry or slightly damp, and especially with creme foundations. You WILL see a difference. I love using eyeshadow as an eyeliner, using a damp, flat angled brush. Staying power is great, you don't need as steady a hand as with liquid liners, and you can play with all sorts of colours.Speaking of colours, I love pairing a dark, richly coloured shadow with a shimmery pale shade layered over top. It's still a smokey look, but it's not as heavy, and gives the colour a lot more depth. It's also easier to wear than a traditional smokey eye, especially if you have small eyes or a small crease in your lid. Finally, plain ol' honey is a really good moisturizer for dry lips. Slather some on (add a few grains of sugar if lips are flakey), and then lick or rub off after about 10 mins and slick on a thick luxurious balm. You'll feel kind of like a tool sitting there with honey on your lips, but you will end up with a luscious smacker afterwards.
My Routine:
It really depends on the occasion. If I absolutely must, I can do it in 12 mins, assuming my hair is being cooperative. But I've been known to take upwards of an hour if there's hair drying, styling, and "gosh-I'm-a-knockout" makeup involved.
My Horror Story:
Bright teal eyeshadow. I thought I was being all trendy and hawt at the clubs. Good thing the clubs were dark.
My Celebrity Look-a-like:
Um.... Lucy Liu once, but I was in a leather skirt carrying a whip, and I think the dude just wanted to get me into his bed.
This stuff is just amazing. Enough coverage to mask the darkest circles and make blemishes and spots disappear, but can be easily sheered out to become a light foundation. They have a colour for every skin tone (No, seriously. There's over 40 shades!), and you can send in a foundation sample and their helpful staff will find a shade match for you. It's all you need to create a perfect canvas! I love it!
This lip balm is basic, but it's very very good. It gives me soft lips with a great-looking shine, and smells and tastes like vanilla with just a hint of coconut. Lasting power is great (especially for a non-sticky balm), and it's a must in the winter time. I can't get this in Canada, so every time I visit the States, I hoard this like a crazy person. It's worth the stares from strangers at the drugstore though... it's that good!
... Because the only way I can make dried out, frizzy hair go down easier is if I am freakin' HAMMERED. This shine serum does wonders for my hair. I slick it on after I shower to help control frizziness as it dries, and it leaves my hair soft and protects it from whatever damage I decide to inflict that day. I put it on before and after I straight iron, and it gives a deep satiny shine to my locks, without ever making it look greasy or stringy. A fantastic all-round product to condition and add lustre to your strands.
