My Beauty Secret:

I drink lots of water, never skip taking my daily multivitamin, and use a moisturizer with SPF.

My Routine:

Depending on the occassion (work, running errands, or maintaining my social life), my routine can take up to an hour. I always take a fairly quick shower (about 5 minutes) if I'm not planning on shaving my legs or exfoliating. I use a toner or an astringent for sensitive skin and then I use a moisturizer. I also use a body lotion but the occassion dictates if I use one that's pretty fragrant. I put several different kinds of products in my hair while it's wet (a detangler, a serum for the frizzies, a heat protectant, and some type of volumizing prodct) and then I blow dry. Then I put a tad bit more of that serum for frizzies in my hair right before I flat iron it straight. I tease my crown a bit to give some desperately needed volume. I'll use Aveda's Hair Potion if I need massive volume. I finish with a light hair spray. I usually just wear a mascare if I'm running errands but for anything else I will (sometimes) apply foundation & primer but always eyeshadow. It really depends on the occassion if I will go out and glamorize myself or not. And before I walk out of my bathroom door I will spray a couple spitzes of one of my fav fragrances.

My Horror Story:

When I was in high school I had light-medium brownish hair. I used to be blond in my childhood and so I thought I'd try a box color to achieve that blond look. Big mistake. It ended up turning that weird orangish color that so many Asians sport when they attempt the same thing. I was in absolute denial that it wasn't orange and I actually kept dying it that color for the next year. Naturally, I am completely mortified any time I look at pics during that time. On the plus side, when I visited my mother's relatives in Japan (my mother is Japanese and grew up there) during the summer, I did blend right in - hair wise that is.

My Celebrity Look-a-like:

I've never been told I look like another celebrity, however, I have been told several times by complete strangers that I bear a certain likeness to felines.

Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation

When I normally think of foundation, I think of something that's heavy and looks fairly noticeable (sort of caked on). But not this. I love how light this feels on my very oily (and sensitive) skin but it stills provides enough coverage. It blends very well naturally with my skin and it doesn't feel too noticeable when I touch my face. When I pair this with Smashbox's photo finish primer, I get a dewy and sparkly glow that isn't oily.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

I have oily yet sensistive skin. Putting any products on my face puts me at risk of looking like I use pizza grease as a daily moisturizer or like I just removed my top layer of skin via a chemical peel. Not good. I really like Smashbox's photo finish foundation primer because not only does it counterbalance my excessive oil without overdrying, but it helps create a flawless look when I pair it with my Stila illuminating foundation. It blends very easily to fill in my large pores and even out my skin tone.

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens

This is an absolute must wherever I go. It's portable and small enough that I can carry in my wrislet, clutch, purse, or whatever. Very convenient so I have plenty of them stashed in my apartment and car. I have oily yet sensitive skin and this particular blotting linen from Boscia addresses that. I use these on a daily basis (sometimes a little bit more though during the summer time) and it absorbs the excess oil without disturbing makeup (if I have it on) or irritating my skin. It's very effective.
