Hi there! I'm from Singapore, a small island city-state in Southeast Asia.
I need more makeup!!! hehe... even though I have enough to last till end of this year... but hey, you are supposed to discard them after 3months!!
I work for a bank. While it's not a requisite that we wear makeup to work, I like to 'paint' my face as I tend to look pale without makeup. Maybe it's due to insecurity, I would carry a ton of makeup in my bag even though I seldom touch up during the day.
It's really hot and humid here. Prior to mineral makeup & UDPP, makeup melts on me like 10 mins after application. I'm so happy to receive a fullsize UDPP for one of my points redemption :) It's easily one of the best products that one could own!
My skin is dehydrated yet oily, it breaks out frequently esp during TOTM. I have lots of tiny red acne scars (I can't stop picking them pimples!!)... another major peeve is enlarged pores on my forehead, nose and sides of nose. My skin tone is a challenge, it's like a mix of green, yellow, pink and brown although I'm pretty fair.. so I use Skin Naturals mineral foundation where I mix my own shade --- so far, I've yet to successlly concoct the perfect mix for my skin tone but what I'd achieved are shades that I could wear but not an exact match.
Products with silicone / demethicone breaks me out except if applied on my eye area. I'm trying to reduce using skincare/beauty products that are laden with parabens, synthetic fragrances/dyes, or carcinogenic compounds. That said, if such products work for me, I would probably stick to them unless it is proven without doubt that the product/ingredient will kill me with prolonged use.
Recent purchases:
Unii Palette in Snow (a meghead put in a link on the forum here). It looks like a mini netbook... it's actually not big enough to fit the makeup I usually bring out everyday & it's rather heavy, but I totally dig the sleek look & sturdiness of the palette, and the big mirror. Very useful for assembling your own palette (i have a dual-shade eyebrow powder, 6 lipstick/balm, 8 eyeshadows & 1 blusher in my palette), and for applying makeup in the car & of course touchups.
MY WISH LIST
- Urban Decay lip primer, lash primer, eden eyeshadow primer, stardust eyeshadows, Alice in Wonderland palette (UD finally landed in Singapore on 4th Feb! The collection here seems small, prices are abt 30% more than US prices. duh! I missed the Alice in Wonderland pre-order!!)
- Prive Concept Vert Rejuvenating Shampoo and Conditioner
- Tarte's eye primer with Firmitol
- Kanebo's Coffret D'or Holiday 2009 LE palettes (they are more of a dream item, since they are no longer sold)
- more palettes!!
- a good scented body butter/cream/lotion
- a good eye gel/cream to combat dark circles, wrinkles, puffiness AND eye bags (always on the lookout for a better one!)

My Beauty Secret:
drinking coffee in the morning will reduce puffy eyebags.
Manuka honey (UMF 10+) can "flatten" cystic pimples.
My Routine:
I need at least 50 mins to "cover up" for the office... to get glam, probably at least half a day...
My eyes are really small and I have monolids but I spend the most time on eye make up.
My Horror Story:
When I was a kid and trying to keep my hair long, I asked my mum to give me a trim, to take maximum 1 inch off. She cut out a big chunk, leaving just one inch above my shoulders! I never let her touch my hair since. I'm such an ungrateful brat...
I have dark circles and huge undereye bags. I apply the contour gel only in the morning. It works by tightening the eye bags and lightening the dark circles, so much that I only need a light dusting of peach-tone concealer to even out my skin tone around the eyes before applying my foundation. Unfortunately, it doesn't "cure" the problems... if I stop using the gel for a few days, my dark circles and eye bags will be back to haunt me, and no amount of concealer will work!
I had really short and straight lashes -- typical of Asian eyes. I had tried numerous brands of mascara - Lancome, Dior, L'oreal, Maybelline etc, but none works the way this one does. It is perspiration, oil, tear and water proof. I only had to apply one coat after curling and each of my lashes is lengthened dramatically. It also holds the curl. It doesn't clump too. Downside is that it is only available in one color - black, and it doesn't add much volume. Removing it is not so easy -- so far, the only one that worked for me was L'oreal lip & eye makeup remover for waterproof makeup. p/s Majolica Majorca is a drugstore brand by Shiseido.
