If done too long it will irritate your face so be warned. Also, it's best for oily, non-sensitive skin. Find a rosemary bush, clip of a few strands. Place in a almost hot pot of water and simmer for a few minutes. Transfer to a bowl. Hunker down with a towel over your head so that the steam hits your face. This is good to open the pores. Follow with a good moisterizer or serum if your skin can handle it a gentle mask to clean out your pores.
My Routine:
Work week is 15 minutes top. Shorter on Fridays. Going out take longer from beginning to end....usually 1-2 hours. Wine breaks are a definite must when getting glam!
My Horror Story:
My mother used to own a makeup shop. Has anyone ever heard of Color 1? Well, that's the brand she sold. Anyhoo...I was a rebel. Nothing at all girly for me from the ages of 13-15. One day before school she got her hands on me. I'm not sure how she talked me into it. Pan stick foundation, full eye-makeup (a kelly green if I'm not mistaken) with black eyeliner - the works. I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life. And my friends all had a really good laugh.
My Celebrity Look-a-like:
I've been told Lili Taylor but with dark brown hair.
Blush is a must if you're over 30. Especially a good cream, gel or liquid blush. These look very natural. A good tip is to apply a layer before your foundation. It looks like the flush is naturally yours, coming from within. If more color is needed, you can apply it lightly over your foundation, before powder. I especially endorse Vincent Longo's Cheek & Lip stains. These are high-end but worth it in that these stay well and look natural. If you're looking for something with a bit of shimmer, he has stains that are pearly and beautiful. Definite must have in my makeup bag. Great for the lips as well.
I was using the cream but now I have the lotion which I prefer more now. It is hands down the best spf for my oily skin. It doesn't exacerbate the oiliness and doesn't cause breakouts. It saves me from hyperpigmentation as well. Love this stuff. If you're looking for something similar but at a cheaper price, check your local drugstore for Neutrogena's Sheer SPF lotion.
I've been using this cleanser on and off for the last seven years. About six months ago, I declared it my holy grail of cleansers and bought the big girl size of 34oz. from Nordstroms. It doesn't irritate my eyes, break me out, make a fuss, or cost too much. It's the most perfect cleanser in my eyes. A tip in how I use this: I apply the cleanser to my dry face, smear it around and gradually add drops of water. It ensures that the cleanser emulsifies the makeup and gets it all off. On days when I'm wearing industrial strength makeup, a la night out or a big event, I use an oil cleanser prior to cleaning with Purity.
