Who wears makeup to work out?

Have no shame ladies, if that describes you!I would just like to say, heck yes I do. If it's gonna clog my pores, it's gonna clog my pores, workout or no. I do wear makeup to the gym. If I have a full face on, I'm not going to take it off to go to the gym. If I don't have any makeup on, I will throw on a little concealer and eyeliner. Because I am that vain, and my skin does look that bad (nearly a decade of acne has not been kind to my skin.)What about you, Megettes? Do you wear makeup to the gym? (Please, no one chew me out for wearing makeup to work out!)

Gigi your right-clinique superfit makeup.I wouldnt be seen dead outside the door without makeup. You know those celeb pics"caught without their makeup shocker"I swear they could get up at dawn and they would never catch me.

potionpricness - that last bit made me giggle. I am the same. Although I may not be wearing much makeup, I will usually have at least something on!!I usually wear makeup to work out, but mostly because I already have it on from the day.
first, good for you working out in the first place. second, no i dont wear makeup to the gym. no one should be even paying me any attention. they need to focus on calories they r losing and leave me out of the equation. this is coming from someone who doesnt wear make up daily. im in grad school so if i have class after the gym, i may throw on some concealer, mascara and gloss but that's it. nothing during the workout and i take it off if i had some on that day. i avoid that by just working out first thing in the morning at home.

I spend any hours in the gym and yes, I do wear makeup much to the "disgust" of some who also roll in in cheap poly-workout clothes that smell bad and choose to "let t all hang out..."They actually "comment" because I'm more pulled-together therefore I must be a bitch,LOL! I'm SO not a "Mom type" and refuse to feed their insanity.:)I'm there to work on improvements and when I see myself,I feel my "pride" in working so hard is justified when I'm wearing something well-fitting,flattering,and that makes it easy to move while I sweat and boy do I sweat! Nina Bucci and Lululemon are standards for me along with a slick ponytail and lots of determination.I swear a swipe of foundation, some Tarte cheekstain, lipgloss, eyeliner and mascara and trust me,it's very "basic" but finished. I may look a mess when I leave but I KNOW I look good when i walk in. ;)
I definitely do. I usually have it on already for the day. I'm definitely not going to take off any makeup I have on just to go to the gym. If it is in the morning, I might through on some mascara and lipgloss before going to the gym. I used to wear foundation to the gym all the time. But just a few months ago my skin was so bad that I felt that I really looked like a monster. The college years were very rough on my skin. But thank goodness my skin has cleared up again now, so I don't have to worry about wearing foundation to the gym so that I don't scare people.
i wore some foundation to the gym, but now i figured nobody really looks at other people there... many people feel self conscious at gyms, and as a result noone will notice if i dont have any mascara on ;)
You are not alone, bluedevilkitty! I am most definitely guilty of this (back when I actually was good and went to the gym). Usually it was because I had it on from that morning since I pretty much wear makeup everyday. It's funny because sometimes I get the impression that everyone is too absorbed in caring about how they look to care about others. But, I struggle with hyperpigmentation/scars from acne, and I just feel very self-conscious of the marks on my face so I feel more comfortable being covered up rather than sweaty + gross + bad skin. I have started jogging on a trail recently, and it's awesome-- there are usually so few people there that I can go makeup-free and just focus on my exercise.
Oh, and I forgot to mention-- if you're concerned about the makeup clogging your pores but still wanna wear it to work out, you could consider mineral makeup like others have mentioned. I feel a lot less guilty when I'm wearing mineral products and exercising.
First, congratulations on working out! I confess that when I was going to a gym, even though it was an all-female place, I still had to put something on my face. But since it would all get sweated-off during my workout, it was kind of a waste of time and product. I didn't look too pretty at the end anyway! But now - I work out at home. So NO makeup. I work out in the a.m., then shower and do my face if I am going to leave the house. Honestly, I can't even go to the grocery store or Starbucks with a naked face. THE HORROR!

Sorry, I can't bear to wear makeup when I workout. I sweat way too much when I go for my run, and my face is so red that I look like I'm about to die. Furthermore, I'm way too OCD about my skin to wear makeup at the gym. However, I don't knock anyone who wears makeup at the gym, it their prerogative.
I don't go anywhere without at least some tinted moisturizer, bronzer and eye makeup. And of course, lip gloss.
It's been years since I've been in the gym! I think if I were to go back I'd definitely wear concealer and set it with mineral foundation. I'd just have to suffer a bit of itching because when I sweat my mineral makeup makes me itch!
potionprincess--you crack me up girlfriend! :P I am not quite that diligent about keeping my face looking nice, but close!I'm actually not too worried about my makeup clogging my pores, because I've tried it and it does alright (currently using Cover Girl Advanced Radiance, but Clinique has great foundations, and I'm going to start testing out one of their new foundation samples that was in my gift with purchase :) )I am super sweaty, so I go without foundation if possible, but I def need a little concealer, and that usually stays on pretty well :) I don't judge ladies that don't wear makeup to the gym (good for them!), but I feel a little better about myself if I am wearing a little something (you know, that "no makeup" makeup look? :P )Embarassing story: I put on some self tanner one day. The next day I went to the gym, not thinking about it. My sweat was tan. On my white tshirt. It was so gross. :( But it was 80 degrees outside, so throwing on my jacket looked a little silly...

Yes, guilty as charged. But I'm definitely more low-maintenance if I'm going to the gym/to work out. I'll stick with concealer/powder to set, and eyeliner (Clinique's cream eyeliner, smudged slightly). If I put on more I'm worried about clogging my pores and makign MORE to conceal. And any more eye makeup would look trashy after the workout if it got all messed up I think. I'm lucky that my eyeliner won't budge if I use some base and the cream eyeliner :)

My workout is hot power flow vinyasa yoga so NO I don't wear makeup because it would be running down my face in no time. Althought I have been dabbing a little concealer on a couple nasty pimples on my faces latety and sometimes I will put on lip balm, but it's all gone by the end of the class. I don't know why I even bother. ;-)
I don't wear mu when I work out, but I do so at home so the only ones that see me are my fiance and our cats and rabbit. If I were going out in public to do so, I would certainly wear concealer and a lip balm as well (the first out of necessity, the second out of habit).
No way. I take face cleansing cloths in my gym bag. I love makeup but I can't stand to be all nasty and sweaty with makeup running everywhere.
LOL heck, I work out in my own basement and I STILL wear makeup. Of course it has everything to do with me TOTALLY LAZY about taking it off. I have noticed though that I break out more and I ALWAYS get a case of the "itchy face" once I start sweating. *shrug* still hasn't stopped me. If I did go to a gym I'd wear it there too. I'd want to focus on my workout and not worry about if people are looking at me. Yeah I know, they aren't and it shouldn't matter if they are, but hell add me to the vain pool! At least I admit/recognize that I'm nuts.

I would never put makeup on just to go to the gym but I definitely wouldn't take it off if I was already wearing it. I work out HARD though so I have to make sure I am not wearing any mascara or liner that will run.
i generally exercise outdoors or at home, so no, i don't wear makeup. i dont want to risk clogging my pores :D but thats just me being super break-out-phobic. i hate "endangering" my skin lol.
My friend picked me up from the gym today and she was like are you wearing eyeshadow for the gym?? And I was like, I was wearing it all day and just happened to go to the gym after, I promise! lol
I wear makeup to take out the trash! Thank the makeup gods for Everyday Minerals - that stuff doesn't get sweated off and doesn't clog my pores.
I second your comment on everyday minerals. I'm 100% devoted to the brand!

I do wear makeup when I work out. I don't care what people say. I'd never leave the house withou makeup, not even to the bakery next door so I definetly wouldn't go to the gym without makeup and feeling naked.
Amen to that, Micky Santos! :) I haven't found that my foundation or concealer clogs my pores when I work out *shrugs* so there's no reason for me to go barefaced! (except sweating off my foundation... that's why I usually just stick to concealer). Megheads, What works for you, works for you :D But it's nice to know I'm not the only woman at the gym who insists on putting on a little makeup beforehand :P

I wear makeup to the gym also. Not full blown makeup, but I will wear powder and mascara, both Pur minerals, and I must must must at all times have lip gloss, my favorite is mark. Pink Crush. I dont have the best skin and I'm not about to let random strangers see it lol I started using Proactiv a couple months ago and I am finally starting to see some good results.

honestly, i wear makeup everywhere..EVERYWHERE. At least foundation anyway. I wish wish wish I didn't have to but I have some acne scars that I never want anyone else to see :(
I don't keep my makeup while I work out ! I am sweating ! I would feel very dirty with that on my skin =s sorry

I don't wear makeup to the gym either. I am afraid it'll make me break out, plus it stings my eyes!
I don't think i would wear make up at the gym, but if it was already on than its on.. But im usually the type of person i don't leave with out make up!!
MeLlY
I don't wear makeup to the gym mainly because I go first thing in the morning. I sweat a lot too so there isn't much point.
If I have it on... Ill sometimes wear it to the gym. Sometimes I'll at least remove the blush and most of the foundation so im a little more natural looking but still got my mascara and some color. If Im just going to the gym I wont put it on... I have no one to impress while working out lol
Tan is Love
I usually work out at home or go on a run outdoors, so no one really sees me when I'm working out. But I have to admit that if I was going to the gym I'd use my fave moisturizer, some mascara to lengthen my lashes, & lip balm for sure
Have just started working out again and I hope I stick to it. I curl my lashes, dot on some eyeliner, and smooth on some mineral powder. The brand I wear stays on my skin and does not sweat off. I wish I could wear waterproof mascara but most mascaras that are non-waterproof irritate my eyes---so the eyeliner at least makes me look human and not like a rabbit.
When I go work out, I put on Laura Mercier oil-free, tinted moisturiser, a bit of Hourglass waterproof bronzer, and Dior Addict Lip Glow. This combo evens out my skintone, gives a bit of a polished look (in case I run into anyone I know!), and adds some SPF, since my workouts often end with some outdoor running or cycling. I wear eyelash extensions, so I don't bother putting on any eye makeup.
I don't go to the gym often, but when I do, I usually do wear makeup. It's a full 20min walk to and from the gym, and I'm not going through that bare faced! If I'm wearing eye makeup though, that will be removed, unless it's waterproof. I can't go without my foundation though!
When I workout it without MU then shower and MU is on but always a WO here at home. LOL:)
guilty hehe, Im too lazy to take it off before working out! and sometimes i like looking made up and working out
http://tinas30dayshred.blogspot.com/
Granted, I don't go to the "gym" but I will not go get my mail or take my garbage out, let alone go to a yoga class without, at least, mascara!!
http://ediblelove.wordpress.com/
I'm guilty! Wearing makeup while exercising keeps a lot of the toxins from escaping through sweat, but I'm just too lazy to take it off! I shower right after exercising though, for damage control.
Somewhat guilty the only reason that I work out work out with makeup on is either A. I'm at school and there is no way I would take it off just to reapply later B. Its the end of the day so if it already hasn't worn off its staying on to the bitter end
Nooo!I will use some concealer during my bad days but that's all!Melting make up is no good!

I won't take makeup off to work out, but I also won't put any on if I'm barefaced to begin with. The sweat wrecks it, anyway.

If I'm gonna have a heart attack, I'm gonna have my makeup on!
no makeup for me when i'm working out, it's not worth the breakouts i have to live with and i like my nice natural glow from the blood circulating throughout my body ;)

I would never put make up on just to go to the gym, but I also wouldn't take it off if I already had it on - it ends up coming off anyway if you sweat enough so what's the point!
I 100% wear makeup to the gym, but like many others, it is simply because I look like death came over me when I don't. I make sure to wash off as soon as I get home, but wear as little as possible to begin with... Don't be ashamed, as you can see MANY of us do it :)
I don't wear much makeup so I don't worry too much about taking it off so my pores don't get clogged but I can't stand when I wipe my face with my shirt at the gym and then end up with gross brown bronzer stains.
I wear make up everywhere except the swimming pool lol But i think one day per weeks it's good to have a day off without make up for me it's sunday ...
If it's already on and I feel like working out (always at home, gyms are pricey), then I'll let it stay on, but wash up after. I would rather not have any on because to me, it just feels weird with the sweating and all that. I just do not get people who will go out of their way to look perfect with their hair and make-up just to go to the gym and barely break a sweat, no point to it. That is just my opinion.
