Contrary to popular belief chocolate and greasy foods do not directly cause acne.. however a healthy diet does perpetuate healthy skin and a healthy body.
No...I agree it's an urban legend. HOWEVER,if you dont' eat enough of the good foods like fruits and veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins, you WILL see more sagging and less wonderful tone and glow!
My derm said that some people are sensitive to the cocoa bean, the cola nut, and the coffee bean. If you're prone to pimples, these beans/nuts might exacerbate your acne, but otherwise it probably won't show up on your face.
The thing that makes me break out the most is when I don't drink enough water. Other than that, personally, I try to cook my food myself from raw ingredients and buy ecological beef and dairy products because hormones do affect my skin, and I don't particularly like those things they put in prefabricated food.
Stress is also another big factor for break-outs! So it's important to decompress and work out :) Of course having a good diet will help improve your skin and body in the long run.
People can break-out as a reaction to different foods, like citrus fruits or milk (I can't eat anything with milk in it without my skin throwing a hissy fit). But that's completely individual and you sort of have to find out for yourself if you react to something.
I do notice that when I up my water intake, my skin is a bit clearer and just looks better, and is a lot less dry. But I guess that makes sense :) That's the only thing I've really noticed I guess.
You can't really say WHAT specifically causes you to break-out. It's all in experimentation. Personally, I don't really eat THAT bad anymore...However, I have taken p cross country (hard sport :|) and i feel a lot better about myself. Is it clearing up my skin? Not really. But yesterday I did a whole treatment and my skin looks so nice and smooth :$I just boiled water, and put my face over that for 5 minutes.. squeezed some bad stuff out using my fingers and a blackhead extractor.. And today it's helped (:
Just wondering... :D
