It used to be makeup but now that I'm letting my hair grow out it seems like I am constantly trying to get it stay smooth. I wake up in the mornings and I have to use my flat iron because the side I sleep on will curl out and the side I don't sleep on will curl under. If anyone has advice on how to avoid this without causing breaking I would be grateful. My makeup routine has been the same for a long time so I keep getting faster & better at putting on my "face".
OH, it's definitely makeup here! If I don't wash my hair, I spend more on my makeup timewise. Otherwise, including hair and blow-out, it's pretty close;-). But nah, it's the face although I do as many brush-outs during the day as I do makeup-touchups, lol!
Definately makeup. It'd be around 20 min on makeup, and 2 min on hair.I air-dry my hair and either pull it into a pony, halfup/down or leave it out. Its growing out at the moment and in an awkward not quite long, but not quite short stage, so I have nothing to do to it.
Equal amounts of time, if I do a dry shampoo/straighten ends with an iron hair touch up. If I wash, dry and style my hair, then it takes 4X as long as doing my makeup.
Equal time spent for me but I do sometimes will spend more on my face. I am actually in the process of looking into new hairstyle and trying to use eye makeup.... Not success on either :((. It's been almost a year since the last time I had my hair down.
I'm in a slump lately, I only spend about 2 minutes on hair, and about 15 on makeup. I spend the majority of my time running around deciding what to wear and how to accessorize. So disorganized, too much stuff, too little time.
Definateley Mekeup too I don't really enjoy doing anything with my hair since I don't like my hair lol but the makeup routine is a pleasure !!!!Hair = 2 minutesMakeup = 10-15 minutes
My hair is usually half done too lol! If I have a makeup gig, I will do my hair but if I am just going in to the restaurant to work, I usually don't even brush my hair til I am in the parking lot about to go inside! Then I just toss it in a ponytail. Since my hair is very long, I am not allowed to wear it down there and also my sideswept bangs are at a very awkward length so that doesn't help!
make up. I air dry my hair. I made an effort today and blowdried/straightened my hair and for once i look decent but it took an hour to do! I prefere to do my face and put my hair up.
Is it bad that I don't spend time on either? I work from home so I NEVER leave the house on weekdays except in the afternoon/evening to run errands. If I am going somewhere, then I usually just toss my hair up in a pony and put on my minimal amount of makeup to make myself look presentable at least. I wish I had the desire to spend time on my hair though because it sure looks terrible unless I put major effort into it. Curly/wavy hair, shoulder length crap. :)
Definitely my hair! I have my makeup routine down to 5 minutes, MAX. My hair is a different story. If I am blow-drying my hair with a brush, it takes me up to 20 minutes.
Def. make up. I hate to do my hair and am lucky that I have wavy hair so just the smallest amount of blow drying is best for it. Plus I always try to get cuts that have the minimum amount of styling involved, I'm very upfront with my stylist, "I don't like to comb my hair, give me a great cut with the least amount of work for me to do."
My hair for sure. Unless I go all Natural which lately does happen a lot. ;-) But if I do my hair I have to blow dry it with a big round brush to get all the waves out.
I spend like two minutes maximum on my hair after it's dry (which doesn't take long either). I have pretty short hair ;) So I definitely spend more time on makeup, or if I use very little make up I guess the amount of time is pretty much the same (base, finishing dust, blush and mascara).
Makeup! I usually wash my hair at night and then braid it before bed to keep it from frizzing and waking up to porn hair.. so when I get up I just have to undo it and I'm good to go. Even when I do fancy braids and things with it (which I love to do), I can do them really quickly. Usually I just put it up in a pony or a bun or a simple braid though. Makeup takes much longer.. even when not counting the extra skin prep time. Even when I don't wear anything other than moisturizer it still takes longer to put that on than do something with my hair. Pretty much the only exception is if I decide to straighten my hair, which is rare.
Definately hair. I don't ware alot of makeup at all, pretty much just cover-up and sometimes mascara, but I have curly hair which is more often than not un-cooperative.
oh my gosh Tracey I totally do that too!!! Wash and braid my hair at night, and wake up and undo the curls so it is nice and wavy and not too frizzy. My hair dries so slow though, sometimes it is still partially wet in the morning, maybe because I do one thick braid, do you do several? If I do not do this, my hair is out of control frizzy and curly/wavy, I look like a lion. And to answer the poll question, it takes me longer to do makeup.
Make-up, no doubt about it. Mostly, I keep my hair in a bun or plait so it is pretty easy to just loosen that, detangle and brush it through and re-bun/plait it again. It is done in under five minutes. When I wash, that is also a pretty quick affair if you disregard the waiting in between putting in the conditioner and washing it out.As for my make-up...a basic foundation/blush/lip balm is done in under ten minutes. But if I do eyes too, and really cover everything perfectly? Then we are easily talking half an hour to an hour!
Makeup for sure!!! I usually just run a brush through my hair or if I'm feeling good on time I'll use my straightener. I have naturally straight hair and I enjoy doing my makeup more than I enjoy doing my hair!! Plus I have so many pretty products to choose from, every day is different with my makeup!!
HAIR definitely if I'm to get all the way out of the house with it actually done. With curly hair I have to air dry and that can take 2-3 hours. I can get my makeup done at stoplights! (not WHILE driving...just at lights!)
I definitely spend more time on my makeup then my hair! I have very straight and fine hair, so usually (especially when I'm crunch on time) I let my hair dry naturally--and it's better for your hair too, causes less damage, while I put on my makeup.
I would say make-up because I currently have a short bob, which always decides to do what it wants to these days, so I like to give my face a little attention :)xx
Definitely makeup, most mornings all I do is run a brush through my hair or maybe scrunch it with some gel. If I straighten it I do it the night before so all I do it go over it a little.
If I leave my hair down, then I definitely spend more time on makeup! My hair is super long and straight so usually I just re-straighten any parts that got smooshed during sleep. For school I spend around 5 minutes on hair and 10-15 minutes on makeup depending on what I'm wearing :)
The weird thing is, if I'm putting my hair in a messy bun it takes me FOREVER! For some strange unknown reason I am just horrible at the messy bun and use around 10 bobby pins and 3 hair ties--it has to be the perfect combination of I-just-got-up-from-a-rough-night-of-lovin and classy-ballroom-updo hahahaha.
Makeup, definitely! With the little time I have left I usually pull my hair up in a pony tail, throw in some bobby pins to take care of the strays and head out the door.
Makeup for sure! I spend about 15 minutes just on my eyes. Lining them with liquid liner just so, and curling my lashes with a few coats of mascara. My hair takes about 15 minutes to blow dry and that's it. Even if I curl it, or wave it, that only takes me another 5-10 minutes.
Makeup. I wash and air-dry my hair twice a week, keep it up at night, and usually wear it either down and natural or in a bun. The only "styling" I do is to blow-dry my bangs, which takes all of two minutes. Makeup takes way longer.
Makeup definitely! My hair is usually purposely messy and half in a low ponytail, so that's not hard to achieve. I take lots of time to apply my makeup and get it perfect :)
I air dry my curls so def. make-up if I am leaving the house. Grad students are recluses you know!
Makeup! My hair usually gets pulled into a pony. I should work on that though, I think, and get something more polished.

Makeup, generally, unless I've had my Curlformers in overnight :)

Makeup. If I'm having a bad hair day, I can throw it up on a pony tail, but there's no such thing as pony tail for bad makeup!

Makeup for me too. I spend a few minutes on my hair and about 5 to 10 on my makeup.

I spend a scary even amount on both... My makeup routine is pretty low-maintenance, and I have to straighten my hair , so it depends...

My hair!! I have long, thick hair so it takes a while to straighten it all. Especially if I curl it.

i spend more time on makeup, hair is like 5-10 minutes in the morning
I always spend more time on makeup, hair is lucky if it gets a look in!
it takes me forever!!! depends on whether i have a good face day or not lol. usually around 20mins.
