The Philippines Needs Your Help!
Hi ladies, if you haven't heard by now, my country, the Philippines was recently devastated by Typhoon Ondoy (international name: Ketsana). This left most of Metro Manila submerged in the worst flood it has seen since the 60's along with a few other provinces. We experienced a month's worth of rainfall in just 6 hours. A lot of people lost their lives and their homes and we're still a long way from bringing relief to all those affected. It would be great if you guys can spread the word about it, to your friends, co-workers, post it up on twitter, facebook, myspace, etc. You can also pledge donations to the Philippine Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org.ph/You can also call the American Red Cross to find out how you can help: 18004357669.This is really a sad time for our country and I hope the Megsmakeup community can help in their own little way.

My husband grew up in there. The country is very dear to his heart. This devastation is awful. I appreciate this post and hope that people are able to offer their support.
It seems that Samoa is in bad shape now too. Donating to the Red Cross is probably the best thing to do now
Thanks for letting us know. My heart goes out to everyone there. Will look into donating through red cross.

Thank you so much, this truly means a lot.
Matt spoke to his "brother" there yesterday. He and his family say that they are ok. But they worry about another storm. I really hope not. It must be so scary.
I am thinking that instead of buying a new lipstick, maybe we could all give what we would pay towards Typhoon Ondoy in the Philippines. I knows its not much but every bit helps. I donated on line at www.bluecross.com. It's easy to do and is even a tax deduction. Artcandy

Yes we are terribly worried because a new storm has already entered our area of responsibility and we are praying to God that it doesn't directly hit us. It could change direction but it's too early to tell. After this storm we are expecting two more. I don't think we can take any more because as of this moment there are still a lot of people trapped in their homes and in some places the flood waters have not subsided.Kellie - Thank God that your husband's "family" here is okay. Robyn - I truly appreciate your donation, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your donation will go a long way.
i was born there and we still have family living there. Fortunately, they haven't been hit as hard as other places. I'm praying for your's and everyone's safety. We donated some money to the Red Cross this week. Please donate as the country is in real need.
