My beauty secrettt shhh*Vaseline*shhh
Maybe this isn't for everyone but I greatly recommend that you give this a try.I have seen a lot of products on the market to help your eyelashes grow... 'apply once daily to create longer and thicker lashes easily' something like that. Well, yeah maybe it is easy to achieve, but finding the money for the actual product isn't (for me anyway lol). So... this is where Vaseline appears *applause*!I think it is amazing, all I do is when I am finished removing my eye makeup, I rub in my fingers to make it softer and warmer, then gently apply on my eyelashes everynight. I can honestly say that they have grown! They fell stronger in a strange way, like I have roots on my eyelashes. Sounds silly maybe, but definitly give it a try, it could be one of the cheapest beauty tips you will know.Caroline xx

Tyra swears by Vaseline too, doesn't she?
thanks for the tip! i will have to try this!

I read this somewhere else and although I have super long eyelashes, they are pretty thin. I have done this and it has actually made them thicker and stronger and makes it smoother for my mascara to go on the next day!! Call me crazy but I think it totally works.
This sounds like something I would like to try. I have a huge tub of vaseline in my bathroom currently unused, maybe this is the perfect use for it! :)

Here's an article I found on the subject: http://www.carefair.com/hair/vaseline_make_eyelashes_grow_2202.htmlsounds like it definately does condition and strengthen. I just started doing this last night so I'm hoping for the best! :)

I have used vaseline as a night-eye cream for 20 years now, and I have not ONE line under my eyes. Dark circles, yes, but no lines, ever.
Vaseline is an amazing product. I personally love Aquaphor (ok, so it's basically expensive Vaseline) but it saved my cracking lips when I was on Accutane. I also put it on dry flaky patches on my face and hands and it moisturized without breaking me out. I don't think I could ever go petroleum free because Vaseline and Aquaphor have been lifesavers for me! I'll have to try putting it on my lashes like you suggested...

I stopped doing this - must start again!
cute tip. i will try it
You use it as an eye cream erica??? I NEVER would have thought to do that!! I have notices crows feet so this may be some help to prevent more happening!
WOW! The things I learn from you ladies! :P I'm going to try using this on both my eyelashes and as an eye cream! I'll have to go buy some though, my sister used up all of mine on her tattoo!! xD
Oh gret to know ! I knew about the castor oil that I put on every night since 3 months and hevent seen any difference yet lol but did't know about the benefits of the VASELINE ! I love it =)

Great tip, thank you, I will start trying this today.
I am going to do this tonight (and every night for a while to see if it works) my little sister asked if she could have one of my tins of vaseline because her boyfriends cousin has long thick lashes and she says its because she puts vaseline on them at night-I told my sister that was ridiculous and that it wont make her eyelashes grow (but that it makes them nice and soft) oooopss!!! i will have to appologise to her and give her a tub of vaseline!!!! =)
I love make up.... lol @ what you said I could totally have said that to someone lol

Do you just put it on the lashes or on the lid at the roots. I want to try this...but am a little nervous. I have oily enough lids. I guess it would absorb by morning though.
Ugh I tried this for a few nights, and now I have a few of those tiny white bumps under my eyes. I've never had them before so I'm assuming they are from the Vaseline since I'm not doing anything else different. So sad I have to stop.

Never heard this before, but will give it a try! I could use longer lashes!
I will definitely try this on my lashes! I'm a bit nervous to try it under my eyes though, because it's so thick and greasy. I'm nervous of getting those white bumps also.
I can't even bring myself to even think about putting petroleum jelly (made from oil rigs) on my face, let alone eyes. I've heard that EVOO or some similar oil has the same effect which is something I'd probably try. But then I have long eyelashes anyway, so its probably something I won't try in the end!!
@rubysbeauty oh no what a shame, I can't understand why that has happened.@nicollback Well, this idea isn't for everyone :) hmm I've never heard of EVOO before.@lulubelle I just apply to the tips reeli then rub through :)
* really sorry I'm in texting mode.
I know it wasn't I was just offering an opinion - I certainly wasn't trying to offend you. EVOO is short hand for Extra Virgin Olive Oil! :)
i will have to try this
Jason's vitamin E oil really makes mine grow. I get compliments on my eyelash all the time. I'd try this stuff before Vaseline.
veronicalin-I absolutely love my jason natural vitamin e oil!! I only payed a couple of dollars shipping on iherb and got the oil free i used a $5 discount code-if anyone wants to try the jasons vitamin e oil and hasnt ordered off iherb before the code they gave me was: HEP831 its a $5 off code and it only works if its your first order from them-doesnt have to be the jason oil you can order whatever you like and get $5 off your order, (then they give you a code to give to first time buyers and u get credited a percentage of what they buy when your code is used)
OY how could I miss this?! sometimes when I run out of primer and I use less pigmented colors, I use a thin coat of vasaline to make them more intense, but I will have to try this!!!! I'm crossing my fingers, I have such little lashes and have been dreaming of purchasing those miracle creams.
thanks for the tip i'll try it a night
I heard about that, but never tried it out.

I tried the castor oil (Walgreens) brushed on my lashes with disposable lash wands (Sephora). I did this every night last thing before bed for about a week. I think it helped - as far as lash health goes. That isn't enough time to see growth I don't think. Now I'm going to give the Vaseline a week trial. I'll check back and report my findings :-)
