I am wondering what are some of the best treatments for first signs of again...small fine lines, as well as redness and a bit of sun damage. Thoughts, experiences?
Good one! I am personally LOVING "CM Naturals" line of gycolic-acids for at home safe and effective peels which are the first line of defense to help rid one of the "beginnings of the end",LOL! Combined with the alpha-hydroxy cream at night,I've had wonderful results which rival the stuff my derma-doc has subjected me to! Microderm is too harsh for me,caused broken cappilaries...and,unless you're wanting or in need of the uber-expensive laser treatments,I truly feel if you use good products at home weekly, you'll have consistantly improved skin my nipping "it" in the bud!I am a huge fan of Restalayne when one gets to the "fill it in" point of despair,LOL! LOVE the results and it really can change your appearance for the better when used with restraint and done ONLY by a solid Doc in his office.:)
I haven't had anything done yet, but I am all for it, as minimally invasive as possible. I think you can really put it off by using great products consistently, and staying out of the sun!!
I got some Kinerase instant radiance peels in a gift bag. It comes on a lollipop and you rub it all over your face. You do not have to wash it off. I thought it was ok but, would not buy them. It is 80 or so dollars for a package of them. You could check out the reviews online. However, personally when it comes to this kind of product I like to go where the experts are. I have a esthetician friend who happens to work at ULTA. You need to find someone with experience to help you select just the right thing for your skin type.
I am told that peels are not good for people that have sensitive skin.
I do a weekly glycolic peel from Make UP Artists choice, and a TCA peel every 4-6 months. I like the results, things get better each time I do it, but the TCA burns like fire!!
I love the peels from Makeup Artists choice, they have a new one out, it's called "Radiance Peel", it's fairly mild, I also use the TCA peel a few times a year, but I have to plan it carefully so that I'm off work during the maximum peeling time, or else I look like an alligator. Not pretty.
I have had a microderm abrasion and I was not that impressed with the results. My face was very soft and smoothe for a week or so... but my lines and bumps and SKIN came bac very quickly!I have been toying with the idea of botox for quite a while!
How did I not know that Avon's glycolic peels are on sale! I have to order some, I recently re-discovered Avon, they have come a long, long way since my grandmother used to buy me Sweet Honesty from her Avon lady!
I worked at a plastic surgeons office for a while. I had Microdermabrasion done...NOT impressed. I had a light peel done.......liked it, but I don't think it was strong enough.I think if you dedicate yourself to some facial peels you will see a difference. Also, botox and fillers are great immediate products. Meaning, you will see the difference when you leave the office. Fillers are used to "plump" up the tissue that has caused the wrinkles. We used fillers a lot around the nasal labial folds. It made a huge difference.Do some research. There are mounds of things you can do to fix some signs of aging

I am seriously considering laser resurfacing, my appt is next week at University of Michigan cosmetic dermatology dept. They are THE reserach hospital for laser dermatology, should get some really good info there. I started out in the Plastic Surger Dept. was told that I am MILES away from a facelift, they recommended a brow lift and laser resurfacing. I have no wrinkles, little sagging but blotchy brown sundamage and acne scars. Cant wait for my appt, I've seen pictures online and it looks like skin comes out smooth and even colored. I'll bet its pricey though.

I had a peel once and it just burnt! I'm not sure if I'll do that again.
