Home PEELS
Hi! I have been to a aesthetician for a few years now, doing those strong chemical peels. The results were so wonderful. Now with two of my children looking at colleges I am thinking 'cutting back' may include my peels. See for me it's more than just banishing wrinkles, I have some scaring on my lower face and top of my nose. A bad situation a few years ago left it's ugly marks. Anyway, the peels took care of not all but a good portion of that. Without the peels for a few months now, I can see that it's all going to be back the way it was in the beginning. I need to look for something I can use at home. Are there products that any of you use that are safe, but not too weak. I would really appreciate any product information you may be able to give me. Thanks so much.

I highly recommend anything from http://www.skinlaboratory.com/shop/ You can find the type of acid and strength that work best for you. I've been using them for 2 years and worked my way up to a higher strength. This is the stuff they use in spas. Amazing results.

I always use makeup artists choice products. They have a variety of strengths and types, you can work your way up to the most effective one, and they include detailed instructions with every peel. Once you know what you're doing, you can even buy the products a la carte, because you don't need to entire kit.
I've always been so nervous to do serious skin care treatments at home. Are these safe?
If you follow directions, yes.

I HAVE THE CRYSTALIFT SYSTEM AT HOME IT IS A MICRODERM MACHINE MADE FOR HOME USE. BEING AN ESTHETICIAN MYSELF I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AS IT WORKS VERY WELL. ALSO YOU CAN PURCHASE GLYCOLIC ACID FOR CHEMICAL PEELS AT THE HEALTH FOOD STORE. THIS SHOULD HELP WITH EVERYTHING YOU MENTIONED. THEW CRYSTALIFT SYSTEM IS AROUND $200 BUT IS WELL WORTH IT .
I like the idea of doing home peels too, but the possibility of something going wrong freaks me out. What strengths do people use?

I started off with 15% I think and worked my way up to 35%. Everyone's skin varies, but once you get the results you desire, you've found the right one. As long as you follow the directions (and you're not too sensitive--it will tingle and itch but NOT burn) they work great--nothing to fear, lilychemgirl!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH MELILALA USE A LOWER STRENGTH THEN WORK YOUR WAY UP I THINK YOU CAN START WITH 30% THEN JUST WORK WITH YOUR TIME YOU LEAVE IT ON. THE GLYCOLIC THAT YOU BUY IN THE HEALTH FOOD STORE IS BUFFERED SO IT WONT BURN YOU IT ACTUALLY STOPS WORKING AFTER A CERTAIN TIME SO IT IS FLAWLESS.
I think I should try these.. maybe not now. But maybe when I'm older.
