Grease Lightning-Amazing New Lush product
Ok, ladies I just got back from Canadian vacation. And of course on my stop in Toronto I had to visit my favorite Lush location on Queen St. I made a fabulous new find. It is called Grease Lightning. It is an amazing zit zapping gel. It was sold out in the store. I got the last one. They can't keep it on the shelves. A few of the essential ingredients are tea tree oil, aloe, rosemary, and witch hazel. In the 2 days that I have had it I have seen great results. It is not overly drying. I immediately saw a decrease in the size of any nasty zits that were starting from all of my bad vacation habits. And I saw a decrease in redness. It looks like the dirty parts of my vacation will be mostly cleared up by tomorrow thanks to this little miracle. This "clearly" seems to be another Lush winner!! Give it a try. You will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aww and I was at Lush today to! I would have gotten this if I knew about it.
Ahh I know this stuff works great! I just got it too last week and i keep it in my bag now..and it is so easy to use!

I must always enter the lush store everytime i'm in the mall! The smell is so refreshing.. and not to strong my friend recently sent me their bath bombs! Heehee they smell so good :)

I'm looking at the Lush website and I might have to try the Dark Angel Cleanser. It looks great and the ingredients really are all ones to target problem skin....hmmm I really do love lush cleansers.
I've never tried it but i know the ingredients for all thier stuff are really beneficial

You got me at "zip zapping". Does Lush do samples? I'm always tempted to go in there but I get distracted because it's in a deserted area of the mall far away from my other must-hit spots! I'm really interested in this product though :)
xoxo
Sweetxsoul - They do give samples, yes! I bought Fresh Farmacy without sampling it first because I KNEW I wanted it after all of the reviews here..but on my last trip I got a sample of the Ocean Salt Scrub thats part of a promotion right now - if you buy the scrub you get a sugar scrub for free I think? At any rate, I liked what she showed me but wasn't ready to shell out the bucks for it. I've used the sample once and there is still 3/4 left which is especially nice! I wish I could get samples of other skincare products...its certainly nice realizing it turns your face into the Sahara Desert BEFORE you've actually bought a giant bottle!
Oooh, I'm adding this to my list of things to check out when I go to LUSH today! We've been meaning to go all week but things kept coming up (almost every day either myself or my fiance wasn't feeling well). I don't know if it's a good or bad thing, because my list went from one item (Lemslip soap, and a casual perusal of the shampoos) to about 10 since I've been reading up on and seeing raves about different items. I had put the American Cream conditioner on my list as a 'must-buy' based on something I believe I read on here, but I just checked the site and it contains lanolin, so it's off the list. :( That's great that they let you try samples first, it's really sad when you get excited about trying something new and shell out the money for it, only to find out that it doesn't work.. I have two bins worth of stuff like that under the bathroom sink!
Ok, home from LUSH and bought the GL! I removed my mu then washed my face with a sample of their Lemslip soap.. seemed to leave my face soft and clean, and didn't irritate it. Then I used the GL. I know it's just meant to be a spot treatment, but my skin is a war zone right now so I spread it over the majority of my face, and some on my chest and back as well. I'm really hoping this works out. So far my face feels a bit tight, but not too dry and it's not flaking or anything. It doesn't really have any odor other than a very faint 'soap' smell, which is good.
I have been spreading it all over my face as well. I am really loving this stuff. It is not drying at all. But it is working!
Ok, I'm glad to know I'm not committing a horrible sin against my face by putting it all over.I woke up today and my face never got dried out, and also is a LOT less oily than normal. In the middle of the night it did start kind of tingling in an uncomfortable way on my cheeks, almost a burning sensation. I think that might just be because that's where I have rosacea and it's uber sensitive. I just thought it was weird that I had a reaction hours in, and not right away! It might also have been the Lemslip soap that I used, since it was my first time using that as well.I have to admit I was hoping to wake up with a clear face.. which I even knew wouldn't happen, but the hope was there. I do notice that the majority of the blemishes seem to be flatter and smaller, and mostly drying up. And one that made half of my jawline red is barely visible, with only a tiny bit of redness on the blemish itself! A couple were a bit angry looking, but that's my fault-- I was really bad and kept touching my face in the night, mainly because each time I did the larger spots that had been so impossible to hide with mu yesterday seemed to be shrinking. So I'd touch a little bit to see how much of them were gone. I'll be good from now on and keep my hands to myself, though. So so far, so good.. even if it doesn't do any more than the results I've gotten as of now, I'll definitely buy it again. Thank you so much for letting us know about this kellie!! I do have a question for you (two, actually).. how often do you use it, once a day? Twice? If you use it during the daytime do you apply it before moisturer?
Oh, and I meant to add that the tingling/burning sensation only lasted for about 5 minutes or so, and it wasn't anything extreme. Just kind of irritating and unpleasant, but it didn't make me jump out of bed to check to see if my face was melting or anything. I'll have to do some tests to see if it was the GL or the Lemslip.
I have very sensitive skin. And this has actually not bothered me at all. I have some extra post vacation break-out action so I am currently using it twice a day. I am never quite sure about the correct order to apply products. So I have kind of done it both ways-before and after moisturizer. Last night I used the Lush Gorgeous moisturizer(Big Wow for that) and then put on the Grease Lightning. I feel like my skin looked and felt the best after that application order. I am really glad that you like the product Tracey. I am really loving it too. There is no doubt that I will be purchasing it again. I see it as becoming a new skin care staple for me.
I will be buying this. I have tried everything to help clear my skin (seriously, you should see my drawer full of "trial" items). Mabye they will have it online.

I just wanted to report that I've been using this every night and had no more incidents of burning or irritation! I used it during the day and at night for two days, but unfortunately in drying out the blemishes it causes dry rings around them. Not very noticeable normally, but are glaringly obvious (and really gross looking) with mu on top. So I cut back to just at night on days when I know I'll be needing to wear mu that or the next day, and day and night if I know I won't. My face still isn't clear, but it's clearing, and there are big areas where there aren't any spots-- which is a great feat. The redness is pretty much all gone, too.
I want this! It sounds pretty fab. I haven't actually used anything with Tea Tree Oil, but I guess it works wonders on acne prone skin. I also like that this doesn't sound crazy drying like a lot of similar products. The acne products that usually work well for me dry out my skin like crazy!
Brittany go for it! I am just in love with this. It has caused very little drying for me. Most acne fighters cause a lot of problems for me. But this has just worked really well. It is mild yet it works. It does not clear everything up overnight. But I some immediate benefits and it continues improving things for me.
I agree, pretty much every other acne product dries out your skin horribly (and even 'gentle' non acne fighting products dry my skin out). The drying I noticed is just around two of the larger more 'angry' spots. It flattened them out right away though and they immediately looked better after one day.
I cant WAIT for this to arrive in Australia! I have heard many fantastic things about it!! :)
I FINALLY got my hands on some grease lightning and I'm super impressed! I had an ugly little pimple just under my nose yesterday afternoon, and voila, this morning it is dried up and on its way out the door! I'm really pleased with this product...it does the same job as my old Spectrojel stuff without bleaching every fabric I come in contact with!
Got this and liked it but gave it to my grandaughter who was having a "hormonal bout"...it's a great product!
Grease Lightening and Dark Angel are the best. I bought them together, and I love them both! I also carry GL with me at all times. My red spots turn less red, and the zits that do break through heal in a shorter amount of time.-kesh
Does anybody have a link to the Grease Lightening Gel on Lush's website? I was only able to find teh Grease Lightening cleanser. :(

That is the product. They call it a cleanser on the site. But it is not really. Read the description. You will see.
thanks!

I'm still up in the air about the Grease Lightning...it seems to stop a pimple dead in its tracks....seriously. It stops it from growing and reduces the inflammation, but then my pimple will just sit there..never going away completely or healing...for DAYS.
Thanks for keeping us informed with updates Tracey. I'm still on the fence about trying out it out, but it's great to know what to expect from this product.
I bought a bottle if this this afternoon, in the hope to lessen my hormonal breakouts this time around. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that it works. Though, it does smell nice and makes the skin soft to the touch at least. :)
I think I'll spend about 30 bucks each month on LUSH starting from January 2010! This one is already on my list, along with Cupcake, Vanishing, many bubble bars, Herbalism and some Ballistics. If anyone has used and loved Vanishing or Cupcake, please tell me how it went! I'll get that Grease Lightning too!
I've been using the GL more lately, I've gotten back into the routine of washing my face every night and following it with the GL. My skin is noticeably clearer, my pores don't look quite as 'gunky', and when I wake up in the morning my face isn't oily- just smooth and clean. Not sure if it's because of the GL or just because of a routine, but I think it's helped!
sounds great! I love Lush, just another one of their amazing products!

I've been using this mixed with my ordinary moisturiser, and it really does seem to help. My skin seems clearer, and calmer. Old scars seem to heal a bit faster and inflamed blemishes calm down. It is not a miracle worker, but it helps a lot.
i've been looking for it but they are always out of stock when i happen to go
I love this stuff! Here's my routine:Wash face, exfoliate with witch hazel, dab on the Greased Lightening only on new or large blemishes, moisturize, then dab on Greased Lightening again on ALL blemishes - new, large and fading. It works great!!! Usually the small new ones are gone or almost gone by the end of the day. And my skin isn't getting addicted to bp!!! Woo hoo!!!!
