Eyebrow Waxing VS Threading

I've only ever gotten my eyebrows waxed or done them myself. A few of my girlfriends have gotten theirs threaded. I've thought about trying it, but I guess I'm a little nervous about switching. Has anyone gotten theirs threaded, what's your experience been like? Also, where do they do this? I've only seen it done at a little store in the middle of the mall, and that's just not something I'm ready to do!

I thread brows, it is great!!! It doesn't remove the top layer of your skin like waxing does. You can get it done at a lot of salons, preferably indian ones...they are the experts. Its also easy to learn to do yourself. Check out some youtube tutorials.
I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for over 10 years. I agree with the MakeupbyRere saying a lot of indian salons are great at this. Ask around and I'm sure you'll find one great thats in your area. I love getting my eyebrows threaded because it gives such a defined look to my face. It hurt the first time I ever got it done but now I'm used to it so it doesn't hurt anymore. Hope that helps. :)
How does the discomfort compare to waxing?
I wish you lived in NY so you could do mine! I don't trust myself to do it, I'd end up with a big mess on my face!
I've only tried waxing, but I would like to try threading at some point. I don't know where to go though, I would have to ask around like you guys said.
I LOVE getting my brows threaded! It's so much less irritating than waxing - no red bumps the next day! I still get mine waxed though, because I really like my brow lady and she only waxes.
I get mine waxed but I heard it's bad for the skin and that it will make the skin around your eyebrows like, weird. Im gonna try threading, Im afraid it'll hurt though.
I've tried both, and waxing lasts longer for me. Surprisingly, my skin really doesn't get that irritated from waxing, so that's what I stick to :)
For my friend though, threading lasts longer for her. So I guess I would try both of them out and see what works best for you!

Man, threading hurts the first time and at first every time. Waxing not a big fan of either but i still do it cuz it has to be done!
Beauty=Pain
I've always been curious about threading, especially since my best friend swears by it. I usually just pluck and get the occasional wax. I don't find that waxing hurts at all, I actually think it feels kinda good (I swear I'm not crazy, it's like, satisfying. Like when you pull one of those Biore strips off your nose--"Aha! That wasn't supposed to be on my face and now it's gone! Success!" :P
i find waxing to be very painful, but threating i actually kind of enjoy...i know, weird. but the sound of the hair popping out is very satisfying to me lol
I LOVE threading!!! I will never go back to waxing!!
Seeing as my eyebrows don't come in thick and full..they are almost perfect actually and just needs a little refining. Hence, I pluck and it works perfect for me because i just ice before and after.
;) Gloss & Gum <3
I've done both, and threading felt like a bunch on pin pricks. Personally, I think the best comparison is epilating versus waxing as far as the sensation. For my eyebrows, I've liked the look of waxing better, but that might just be a difference in the skill of the person
One of my friend introduced me to threading, and I love it! I really do not like the idea of waxing the delicate skin around my brows, so threading is great! I have only ever been to Indian women, so cannot comment on how well others do. I would recommend threading, they can be very precise as they can get one hair at a time. It is also very cheap, at least where I am, $5-6.
I feel a little silly having to ask, but what is threading? I thought you waxed or plucked.
I pluck. I tried to thread my brows one evening and ended up catching my lashes in the thread and pull out a couple. :-(Needless to say, I haven't caught on the threading.Veronicalin: It's where you take a piece of thread and twist it a few times to create a little "V" shape in the center and move the loop along the eyebrows to catch stray hairs. It is hard to put into words how it is done without actually seeing it being done. Go on to YouTube and search eyebrow threading. That should pull up How To videos. Good Luck with it. Try it out and tell us what you think.

If I had a choice I'd try threading only because when I get my eyebrows waxed I want to cry. I'd rather get 10 brazillians!!I haven't been able to find a salon here in Australia that threads, though. So now all I do is get a wax twice a year in a good shape and then do the maintenance myself.
OMG, MakeupByJessica i can totally see why you pulled out some of your eyebrow. I'd leave that to the pro's. Also, it looks painful. More so then plucking. I'll stick with plucking. SCARY! NEED DRINK NOW!
i want to get my eyebrows threaded you all have given me the courage:)
I just got mine threaded the other day for the first time, I got advice on where to go from my Indian friend lol. It's just a woman who does it in the back of an Indian clothing shop. She's been there for 11 years, though, and is very well known in the local Indian community. I was super happy with the results, beautiful brows fast with no irritated skin! I brought my mom and a friend, too, it was all of our first time and we all liked it. It was $10, about the same as waxing, but I think she charges less for repeat customers.
I just started getting my eyebrows threaded a few months ago. I think it lasts about the same as waxing, but I think the shape is better. It is more precise. I don't think it hurts. I kind of find it relaxing. My sister disagreed about the pain. She was threaded once and then went back to waxing.
I used to have a roommate from Iran, she had great brows and she'd thread mine. She sit on the edge of her bed indian style and have me come, sit with my back to the edge of the bed and lay my head back in front of her. I prefer threading over waxing because I get less irritation from it.

It's definitely the skill. Threading is actually more precise.

I love the look threading gives more defined and alot better in my opinion. I also like how threading doesn't pull at the skin as I'm super worried about getting wrinkles. The downside to threading for me is the availablity where I live. I've only found one place that does it, everywhere else does waxing. I also dont enjoy how threading feels, call me sick but I actually LIKE the feeling of having my eyebrows waxed soo its hard to get me to get mine threaded because of how it feels lol.
