Bewbies...got 'em,want em',or would rather live without?
Figured I'd get this rolling...we chit and chat about truth here on Meg's and yes,I have implants.Been a DD since I was about 15. (visual: skinny Irish chick @ 85 lbs with BIG bewbies, glasses, and a pile of books, welcome to my High School years,LOLROF!)Had them "picked up and propped up" 14 years ago.Saline under muscle is my bag of choice. :)Am considering a re-do this Fall/Winter,I'm on a mad gym kick currently training for my first triathelon in Aug. and if I can get the sleek and curvy shape I want and am spending hours dripping with sweat fir minus even more weight,I want 'em higher and smaller,LOL! Anyone have cohesive gels or silicone and/or want to offer an opinion?A reduction isn't even a remote option...I am big to start with and not looking for that "porn star" look (although it can be beautiful too!) but rather a more youthful arrangement!

I've got implants too. I got them in 1996. Actually I got liposuction at the same time. Here's my before visual: I was 23 years old, 5'8" 135lbs (O.K....140), in good shape(5 work outs a week) and I had size C boobs. I was a topless dancer for 11 years. After college went to grad school for a doctorate in psychology. I went to grad school for about a year and hated it. I put a lot of pressure on myself to follow this career path, but I had already danced for about a year before grad school and absolutely LOVED it. So after a year of grad school and dancing only once a week I followed my heart and danced full time. I'm really glad that I did. I had many many days that were so fun, even at the time I wished I could freeze them in my memory so I could one day live them over. It was at a small club that had an atmosphere like cheers and there was the coolest group of gorgeous and intelligent girls that worked there. The girls I've stayed in touch with over the years are not friends I made in college, but the girls from this club. Also I made a small fortune. It was like getting paid a lot to dress up and hang out with your best friends at a cool club....everyday. I didn't even work nights, just the lunch shift noon to six. After this stint I wrote for a magazine for a while, then I opened my own business selling vintage handbags, furs, jewelry etc. I still miss the great times I had dancing though. Anyway back to the plastic surgery. The lipo was great. I didn't even go down a size. It just contoured the shape of my legs and butt, so that my work outs paid off even more. The boobs are saline implanted over the muscle. I guess it depends on what kind of tissue you have to work with, as well as the doctor, whether you can go over the muscle. I think it looks far more natural. I saw a girl in another strip club with fabulous boobs and asked her doctor's name. He was very expensive, considerably more than other people were paying at that time, but I've always been extremely happpy that I didn't skimp. Many girls who met me after the surgery couldn't believe they were fake. It's been 13 years since I had it done and I'm still very happy with the way they look. They are a tiny bit less firm than they were when I was 23, but hey I'll be 37 in July!

I have two stories. No bewbie bags for me (yet), totally open to the idea after am done with the baby thing. I might pop one more out if it happens sooner than later. But my tata'a got large and full after pregnancy so I don't need 'em yet. Me MaMa' got them in her 30's, 30 years ago. Full on silicone over the muscle. Back then silicone was considered a safe option. Well they leaked. Scary but interesting story. She had to get them removed about 6 months ago and did not have ANY scary side effects. I guess her body encapsulated the implant and most of the leak so nothing spread, no sickness. Believe it or not, her experience made me less afraid of implants. I saw that even if you have a scary situation it doesn't mean you will automatically have a bad outcome. Sure I see the risk is there but it seems to me that as long as you see your doc regularly, mamo's, prevention, etc. then you should be o.k.. Second story, my good friend just got 'em, saline over the muscle. She ended up going 50cc smaller than the smallest size her doc ever puts in. He wasn't against her decision but, he still recommended larger. Well, she was totally right and he was wrong. They look awesome! The kind where you wouldn't even know she had implants. Nothin' but a beautiful rack for this hot mama! With all of the exercise you are doing mjsred, I think your idea to go smaller will pay off. For a runner especially. My point is, if your doc attempts to talk you out of the size you know you want, don't let him. My friend doesn't regret it one bit! You must look awesome, I sooo need to sweat more and get my ass to the gym! Good for you! Keep us posted on the bewbie front..... xoxo stylemama
I got mine in 93 right when the silicone scare was huge. You couldn't even get silicone at that time. So I have saline. I went on top of the muscle. I think they still look great even after breastfeeding 2 kids. However I would even be happier if they were a little higher and firmer. I also would go with silicone next time as saline tends to have a little rippling. You can't see any ripples on me but you can feel them if you really search for them. Getting a boob job was one of the best things I ever did for myself. That sounds pretty shallow but it totally made me more in porportion. I just felt so much better about myself. My rib cage used to stick out more than my boobs! One thing I have learned is find the best Dr possible not the cheapest. You can end up spending so much more money in the long run and not have a good outcome if you look for a bargain. I went to the most expensive in town- he was known as "The Boob Dr" and I have never had a problem. Really think about the size you want also. It is not fun to run with boobs! I laugh to my friends "I can't run with my boobs but I look good standing here!
HAHAHA! I agree!!! I have to double up on my sports-bras at the gym but it's worth it,as you beautifully say!I think when I'm ready to do them (most likely, will be when it's cooler and quieter in my life,Dec or Jan coming up...) I'll even take before/after pics for comparisome! As I have saline now,I'm looking at cohesive-gel or silicone next time...many strides have been made in this area and yes,I get a mamo at least once a year! :)
If I did get bewbie surgery, it'd be going the other way- down! I'm a big girl: 5'11", about 230 lbs (though I'm trying to lose it!), but I've always had ridiculously huge boobs. For some reason, they've never stopped getting bigger, even when I was on periods of weight loss. I'm currently a 40E-F, depending on the bra. I would totally do contouring or a breast lift though- they sag like I'm eighty because they're so damn heavy (I have fibroids, but the doctors aren't concerned enough to remove them) and they're very, uh, squishy, which makes it hard to wear demi-bras. I have some back pain, but like I said, I'm a big girl! I can handle it.
i don't have the falsies - yet - but i grew from a small B to a large C around the time i turned 25. i'm 33 now, and they are still that size, and are really starting to sag. i have no kids, but i'm 99% sure that i won't be happy with my bewbs after i do, since i can already see them start heading to the floor.i want smaller & perkier. :) i actually really miss my small B cups. as the saying goes...grass is always greener. but i looked so much better in cute clothes 8+ years ago.
This is a strange topic for me right now. I am only 32. But because of another problem a cat scan found a lump in my breast. It was removed. And it would have turned into cancer had it not been found. After that surgery they found another lump. A few days ago I had that lump removed. I am waiting for those results very nervously. But the whole thing is really making me view my breasts in a whole different way. It sounds weird but sometimes I am scared, sad, or mad at them. I just don't know what to think. I never thought that much about them before. I wonder if I would get reconstruction if I had to have them removed. I just don't know. Bewbies are strange and can be dangerous, I guess.
To the ladies who have the enhanced bewbs: how have they held up over the years? I've heard tales that you have to get them switched out every ten years or they start getting hard, but that sounds like bunk to me. Is it true? Are y'all walking around with boulders on your chests? lol. Also, do they feel like natural breasts to you or do they feel like saline bags stuffed under the skin? Do they move like real bewbies? I mean, is it obvious looking at them that they aren't natural? And what's the difference between silicone and saline and gel? Why get them put under muscle - what does that help? Man I'm feeling inquisitive tonight!
I planned on gettin gimplants, since i am very petite. I am 5'6 and 103lbs with tiny little ones haha. In middle school and the beginning of high school I was larger, a "b cup". but then i started the spiral of modleing and just got thinner and thinner, i am healthy now, just never got the clevage back and i really wont somehting to hold on to there :) although it does depress me, i try to stay positive. I was making the appointments, until i passed out and went to a hospital for tests. Come to find out i had arrhythmia (a heart disease where your heart has such an irregular beat it can be fatal) since a very young age, and i had gotten it from my mother. needless to say, i can not get the surgery, so now i am triny some cream and pill combo's. my sister actually had a pace maker put in yesterday. ppr thing, she is now in 8th grade :( what a trooper.
j.baby
OMG...j.baby!!! HUG your sweet sis for me and all of us and please let her know that she has an amazing friend in you and us here as well! I'm just SO glad you were diagnosed and dodged a potential bullet: it's a GOOD point your raise about being absolutely POSITIVE you're physically up for an surgery as well as mentally and again, your young-wisdom is a breath of fresh air to me girl! I have a GORGEOUS friend in NYC who's "like you" in that she's tiny and would have liked a bit more but until her schedule allows, she's stalked down some amazing bras and has learned to wear those things I WISH I could such as backless all the way and trust me,she gets major-attention where she is! Hime: I have had my implants for almost 15 years and honestly, they still look amazing/feel like the real deal,LOL! I think that's mostly due to the fact that I had a lot of tissue to work with originally. It's always a challenge when you're "bigger" (I started as a D) to find bras that support without being too structured and it CAN feel like you're lugging at times,LOL! I've done a lot of "re-shaping" in the past couple of years ,that's why I'm considering a "re-do" later this year, hoping for a bit smaller, higher, and still investigating the newer technique available! This is a good online source for basic info you can then go to a couple of docs and talk with them more informed:http://www.implantforum.com/mcghan-implants.html
I have wanted implants since I realized in HS...that mine are just never going to get bigger...lol. I am 5' and have a small frame. Usually running around 96-98 lbs. I think my body is fine...but I would love to go up to a full C. Thats what I got at during my pregnancy and nursing times...and I LOVED it :) Other than money wise, my hubby is just not into the idea of risking my health for something that isnt really NEEDED. He knows its important...but are the risk still the same as they were years ago? Hardly ever do we hear of stories of them popping or anything anymore. Those of you with them...do you have issues now? Was it worth the pain you went through?
Never had any issues and honestly, except for the initial swelling (that OMG...they are HUGE feeling you get the first couple of weeks,LOL!) I didn't really have much pain! There are "risks" with any elective or other surgery but I feel that this is one area that's been tried and true to death because SOOOOOOO many women have them and they contiue to improve the techniques and materials!A solid doctor is everything: you absolutely "get what you pay for" and I wont' even tell you the horror-stories I've heard about those who've gone to Mexcio for "cheap bewbies..." There are great docs there as well (I'm 3 hours from the border) but again, you need to be an informed consumer and have what YOU want clear in your mind so you're concerns are fewer.I get a mamo every single year and they DO a "bit more" with implants and again, with the newest technology, there is MUCH less of a chance for issues even happening!
I'm around a B/C cup, but wish my bewbies were just a little bigger... I'm too scared to get implants though, so I'm sticking to some pretty push up bras :)

It's funny, I think we always want what we do not have. Mine are natural and too big. Hence my posting re breast reduction. I think if you really want something... go for it... if it will make you feel better. Only you know that. Not anyone else. Also do lots of research before having them done or redone.Artcandy
♥Robyn♥
Robyn/Artcandy--it's so true. A good friend of mine got a breast reduction and said it's one of the best things that has ever happened to her. I can't stand even thinking about smaller breasts on myself! I think someday I might actually get 'em a little bigger--I'm comfortable with myself but it's something I want for *me*, not for anyone else, just because I personally would like mine a little bigger :P I don't see it happening for a long long time (I'll need to save up some serious $$$, and I have a lot of student loans to pay off right now), but I will def try to go to a doctor that someone I know has gone to, and has done good work. It won't be worth it if my bewbies end up like Tara Reid's! Poor girl :(

I have them also, silicone under the muscle, 385 cc, size D. I love them!!!
Okay chicas...anyone have the "Gummybear" implants yet? I'm dying to know more about them, have heard good things but am not sure how many have yet?
i have no boobies! hehe that sound so funny! but i think im happy with what god has given me... im only 17 and by the time i get to the age of kids my boobs will go from B to C right? lol im ok with a C later on and being a hot mama with perky little petite boobies hehe! i love this site!
<3 Samantha
I don't have them, but I've considered getting a lift. I'm just 5', maybe 5'1-2 on a really good day, normally around 115 lbs, and a DD; totally out of proportion with my height. They've been that big since high school and have never been 'perky', which made me very sad. Most likely if anything I'd get a reduction, though. That would take a lot of pressure off my shoulders/back (I constantly get migranes and pinched nerves because of the pressure from my bra straps, even wide ones, and am always hunching over), and would probably perk them up to a nicer shape.
I'd never get implants, I'm a DDD. I don't think I'd want to get a reduction either, just because I feel like a lot of people who get breast reductions look heavier (I guess that's really vain, but it's true). I would consider getting a lift whenever I get older and do the whole kids thing though. In fact, I'm pretty much planning on that.
I really would like to get surgery to even things out... My boobs are seriously almost 2 different cup sizes!!! I can notice when I have a shirt on but others say they can't. I have to buy a bra that lets the small one loose and the big one restricted! LOLBut I really want to wait till I have gotten to a weight Im happy with and stay that way!!!
Tan is Love
When there's a very noticeable size difference like you have, most insurance companies will cover surgery to even things out...In that situation it's considered reconstructive surgery.
I got a reduction 5 weeks ago...Boy did I need it! I was a 36G before and once I'm all healed and the swelling goes down I'll be a C or D.
I have a pretty small chest and I'm happy with it!! The women in my family are notoriously tiny - not flat, just not very generous in the basooma department. It wouldn't fit my shape or my "look" to have bigger boobs and I can't ever see myself ever wanting implants.
Ok moon8305...you are my new hero. I've wanted a reduction of my 40 DD's for years but I'm TERRIFIED! Write back later and let me know how it turned out and about any scarring. I need to hear it from someone I trust like a Meghead and not just a dr who wants my $.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Angie, the #1 thing that people who have had this done say, without question, is "I wish I would have done this sooner". :) So far my results are pretty amazing. I'm getting really excited about being about to buy cute tops, bras, and lingerie that I never would've been able to wear before. I'm wearing a button-down shirt right now...Definitely haven't been able to do that in years and now I have a bunch of them in my closet. If you want to learn more about it and hear lots of stories and advice from other women who have gone through it, www.breasthealthonline.com is a great resource.
Moon8305 - thanks for the link. I have lots of questions about breast reductions, and I think there may be one in my future. I've been on a weight loss program and it's working well. I want to see what the girls look like when I get down to my goal. I talked to a cuz this weekend who'd had it done some time ago, and she said it H-U-R-T. I'm pretty good about pain, just a little whiney. But I want to wear cute tops too! Right now, I'm "down" to a 38DD; would like to be a 36 C. Maybe that's not enough difference to make it worthwhile. Anyway, I'll check out that website. Thanks again!
Carole
You're so welcome! And congratulations on the weight loss. Losing weight and still having big boobs is actually good ammunition to help state a case of medical necessity for an insurance company (worked for me!). The pain for me wasn't terrible but I had good drugs--ha! As far as your current size vs. your ideal size, it may not seem like a big difference but if you're in pain and unhappy with your current size, it's worth at the very least looking into. That's how I thought of it when I first started thinking about it; it can't hurt anything to get more information and maybe even talk to a surgeon :)
Thanks - I appreciate the advice! I'll see what my doctor thinks. I felt kind of funny asking before.

i have d cups now al;l natural but i wanted to have them done as well one is lil bigger than the other and its noticeable. plus i want to have them up and not saggin from after kids.. u know...

Mine are two different sizes as well. Some days it's more noticeable than others, but I seem to be the only one who does notice-- it took me pointing it out to my fiance for him to even realize it, and this was after 8+ years of seeing them. Maybe the sight of my boobs just stunned him so much he never saw the difference, lol. :P I actually read somewhere that something like 90% of women have two different sized breasts, and that it's usually the left one that's larger because it's nearer to the heart and gets more blood flow.
yeah thats right hrhtracey, the left is bigger than the rt. lol
Samantha.Provost ~ sweetie most times after kids some can kiss those beautiful perky boobies goodbye. lol I wish they were still perky darn. not after my two kids

Trace - you are hilarious!! My boyfriend never noticed the size different either.
Its very important to fit your bras to your larger one - don't try and suffocate the big one!!
I had a reduction as well. It can be amusing how'd we'd love to have what we don't have. For me it was the best decision I could make - I went from a 32G to a 32D-DD. I did it for mostly medical reasons (the crippling back pain). I'm ony 5'3 at about 120, so its really out of proportion.I feel as though implants wouldn't be as hard on the back because they're not as heavy as actual breast tissue?? (I apologise in advance if that has offended anyone in any way, I don't mean it in that way - just wondering).
Yup, my right one was bigger than the left. Though, oddly, the Lefty has been more troublesome in the healing process! NB I don't know that I knew you had it done too! When?
That's me, and I'm happy with what has developed - no pun intended. I make sure to always wear a good-fitting bra, and sometimes fall asleep with it on (due to falling asleep on the couch at times...) and so far nothing has gone south. Marilyn Monroe once said that she always wore a bra, to keep things in their place - and look at her results.
That above message was for Samantha Provost - about small and perky.
I think everyone is uneven to varying degrees, but the larger your cup size, the more noticeable it is. My grandmother was a DD, and she always told me to be grateful I'm only a B, because gravity is not your friend!
moon - I had mine done almost 5 years (well 5 years in late november) when I was 16.You have so much to look forwards to once you're fully healed!! It is seriously life changing! :)I think the funniest moment I had was when I saw something clearish poking out and decided it would be good to pull on it - not realising I was pulling out stitches!! Oops.Just make sure you're using some good Vit E oil on the scars and in about a year you will hardly be able to notice them :)
I'm a DD, and they're more trouble than they're worth! I can't wear cute little skimpy tops, dresses and bathing suits that fit are impossible to find, not wearing a bra is never an option...All my friends want a donation from my boobs, and I say they can have em!
Yeah, so far I've been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter w/ Vit. E lotion and Scarguard on them. How the scars look kinda varies from day to day but for the most part they're looking pretty good already.
This is a great topic...I agree with you all health is the most important before surgeries.
My chest is pretty small, but I'm okay with it! I wouldn't mind if they don't grow anymore. Plus, I'm really scared of surgery.
Right now I'm a C and I don't mind the size but I'm not a fan of the shape. I'm only 22 but they're more droppy then I'd like. They look fine if I have a bra on but I have a feeling that after I have kids they won't look good anymore. I'm really short on top to so I feel like they're bigger then they are simply because there is like only 4 inches from my neck to my boobs and they're continually hanging out of my shirt. I should be wearing petites but there is no petite store in my city and no other cities for about 8 hours around. After I have kids I'm planning to look into some implants. My husband doesn't know about this thought though. I'll tell him someday. I don't want them any bigger, just a nicer shape.
Haha this is an interesting post..I'm in between a D and DD and I've gotta say they aren't glamorous. I'm considering a reduction to a small C. But will definately research more on the subject before making such a big decision.
Beauty=Pain
I am a D, and I would much rather be a B again... Kids made them grow and now they are just irritating! :P
Old post, but i've always wanted them.. and I WILL get them one day! i think they look amazing!!
MeLlY
I know this is a bit late but jumping in anyway. I/m in the wish I had done it sooner club. I have silcone under muscle. Most important thing is do your research. Get at least 3 consuts. I spent about 6 months researchingGood luck to you all!
I would never get them. I'm not even 5' and about 110lbs at a 34(small)C. I like 'em as they are. I grew a cup size when I was 20. Any implants I've ever seen do not look real --especially lying down they don't lay like real breasts (and I've seen my fair share working in an obgyn office in high school). I couldn't get over the number of women who were smaller framed (or under weight) who got much larger implants..that rarely happens naturally and doesn't look proportional. And really, while men are happy as long as their wife/girl friend is happy, most of them prefer the real thing..even if it's a little smaller.IMO
