Alli!!
K guys!I need to share this with the world!I know everyone has probably heard of the horrible downside to taking alli!If you don't know ALLI is a diet aid that works by breaking down fat and pulling it out of your system. 25 percent of the fat you consume actually. It helps you lose 2-3 punds EXTRA for every 5 you lose on your own. This is not a miracle pill, you can not just be lazy and eat what you want. Here's the down low on what happens if you eat what you want. In nice terms "Treatment Effects" Actually... ANAL LEAKAGEThat was enough to make me stay away from it... Then eventually I needed to really go for it. I needed to lose the weight!!!I've been on alli for 2 months!I've lost 25 lbs!!And the best part is... I have had NO TREATMENT EFFECTS whatsoeverThe main ingrediant in ALLI is FEAR!!!You are SO AFRAID of well... Pooping your pants that you eat right!I have learned how to eat alot of healthy things and not be starving all the time! Before when I just coiunted calories I would eat less... but bad stuff. I was always starving... I felt deprived.Of corse I also exercise 2-5 times a week.If you have the determination... I HIGHLY reccommend ALLI for you.It comes with ALL the info you could need to avoid treatment effects. BUY the starter kit first!!! It comes with basically a Library of stuff!Good Luck!!! Will HAPPILY answer questions and appreciate comments!

I bought a bottle of Alli a couple months ago and put it away after reading the possible side effects. All I could think was OMG what was I thinking! 25 lbs?? WOW! I ride my bike and exercise and haven't lost very much I pretty much bounce b/w 230-235 (*gasp*, yes I disclosed my real weight, and I'm ashamed of it). I have had a life long love affair with food. Maybe I should pull out the bottle and try it. After all, I spent the money on, shouldn't I use it? Thx for all the great info punkeydew!
Don't you dare be ashamed! I have a life long love affair with food as well. I do not really equate hunger with eating....I can be so stuffed and still be thinking about what I am going to eat next! Maybe you can try taking a few tablespoons of Virgin Coconut Oil a day to boost your metabolism! I definitely recommend (as if im a doctor or something...yah right) staying away from diet pills! The possible side effects listed on the products are only the side effects that they know about RIGHT NOW. You don't know how these products could affect your health and heart 10 years from now!
Punkeydew... thanks for your post. I've been losing weight since January (42 lbs so far) but my pace of losing has really slowed down lately. I've thought about trying Alli, but backed off because of - you guessed it - FEAR. Also, since I'm eating very little fat anyway, I wondered if it would help me. What do you think? Will it still help me lose weight? Thanks!
Carole
Punkydew-
Holy Crap~~! You really made me laugh no pun intended. :)
I applaud you for posting this. Although, I usually do not respond well to any kind of "mangement by fear". I am going to consider us.
Please keep us updated us on your progress.
Thanks for sharing! I'm really only trying to lose a few pounds to look more fit, so I don't think I'll be trying this.. But I seriously think I should get placebo pills for Alli! haha! I don't want to ACTUALLY experience the side effects, but if I could have the fear factor without the actual risk... Oooh that would be good :P Congrats on all of your success :) 25 pounds is truly amazing!
xoxo
I totally that a major part of Alli works is weight management by fear, as hao said, and by adding healthy food and exercise. I'm not judging though--Alli does biologically help you lose weight, and if it psychologically helps you lose weight, as long as it's not dangerous or unhealthy, that's great :) I'm so glad it worked for you, punkeydew :)Also, there was a lot of controversy concerning olestra because it can cause similar problems--olestra is a fat substitute that goes right on through your system and can cause diarrhea, leaky stools, etc. But, I love it and wish it were in more products because it does help me keep the amount of fat down that I'm eating! It's in those Wow! Ruffles (which taste just like the real thing!!!). And honestly, I've eaten close to a whole bag of the chips and didn't have any problems (I'm an eater...) While some people prefer natural methods, it's my opinion that if it doesn't hurt you, and it works for you, why not, if it helps you believe that you can lose weight? *shrugs*Like Rere and bluegirl, food is more than nourishment to me--when I go to a good Indian food buffet, I want to eat more and more just to taste more of the deliciousness, even though my tummy is screaming that it's at capacity!

too bad i can't use it anymore since i had the side affect of big rashes, but before that i actually did lose some weight
Anyone considering should totally go for it!! I'll just tell you the guidelines I stayed within.I'm staying around 1600 calories. And With the fat you split it up between each meal... Alli says Im allowed to have 15 grams of fat PER MEAL....But Im still scared even after 2 months! So I usually stay between 8-12 grams of fat per meal! And havn;t had any problems what so ever!Im looking to lose about 50 all together! So Im half way there!!! But even if You are looing to drop just a few pounds! I would tottally go for it!

Virgin Coconut Oil? I haven't heard about it raising metabolism. Where can I get some and how much do I need to take? I'm trying to drop weight before I get pregnant (kinda silly huh?), but my dr. says the lower my weight the easier the pregnancy will be on my body and the baby.
I really wanted to try Alli, but I just couldn't bring myself to try it after reading on a forum about the side effects that a lot of people had.I can clearly remember one person discussing that they just bought tons of black pants in case of any accidents (I swear!) and that pretty much made up my mind.I'm glad it's working for you, but I don't think I could do it.
You can get this at Whole Foods, Fred Meyer (Kroger) and health food places. My Trader Joes did not have it.Good Luck! :) Although, it does not sound like you need it . . . you are on the right path.
I'll admit I was freaking out the first week... I kept extra pants and panties in the car just in case!! and luckily I wear black pants at work!!! Also luckily my fears turned out to be unfounded because it turned out just fine! And now I can eat healthier!

Thank you punkydew! I, like many other posters, have been considering alli. I think I may go for it to help keep my eating habits in check for awhile. Once I get down to a healthy size, hopefully exercise and those new habits will be enough. Question: how is it with alcohol calories? weight-watchers style or different?
Hi! yes it definittally helps to diet on your own for a while that was you know you can stay with it before you take something that may give you side effects. So im still taking it, Ive lost 56 lbs total. Havnt lost any in about 2 months, but havnt gained any back which is awesome! If you decide to try it GOOD LUCK!!!

oh sorry didnt answer your questions.Alli says to stay within a reasonable amount of calories but it doesnt play a big factor as long as you are aware of what you are eating/drinking.I dont even count calories any more im just used to eating the sane kind of stuff for the past year or so!

We just learned about orlistat (Alli) in school. I'm not sure how I feel about it - I think I'll need to learn more about it.I believe it works by preventing absorption of fat in the small intestine, so yes, you get fewer fat calories, plus it will help teach you to have a lower fat diet - because if you eat a high fat meal and take it - you get the consequences (as described above). If your diet is already low in fat, it probably won't make a huge difference. You need to have SOME fat in your diet that you actually absorb because you need it to absorb vitamins A, D, E, and K. I found this article as well. Seems to jive with what I learned:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/alli/WT00030
Been there done that, Already had a pretty low fat diet, but some things I could not part with....cream in coffee, cheese occasionally, the last straw was when I was in a gap store and for the past week I had been experiences a lot of "gas" was in my own little corner shopping away, and poof, definitely not gas this time....and the pants I had on were RUINED. I am a bit too young to be doing this in stores!
Punkeydew - congratulations on losing 56 lbs!! You are my hero. I lost about 40 but I've been backsliding a bit lately. I need to get serious again - and I think I'm going to try Alli to help. I appreciate your comments on it!Keralexina - ooops, that must have been an embarrassing moment!
