Meg here, Thank-you very much for all of your kindness, Martin Schaedel was an amazing person that did more in his very short life then most people do in a long one. He could make you laugh, and was brilliant and most importantly had a heart of gold. Martin Schaedel The world has truly lost a shining star. I have lost a wonderful friend. Everything you ladies wrote makes it a little easier. Thank-you again.
Meg here, one of my bestfriend's was staying with me for the past 5 days. He was 23 and adventurous and brilliant and everything full of life and kindness. He never came home last night. He was not here in the morning. He loved to try new experiences and was very excited about his plane flying lesson. I got a call there was a chance he was on the small plane ( 2 seater) that crashed yesterday evening. Everyone on board was killed. I drove as soon as I heard to Santa Monica airport feverishly praying this was just a fluke coincidence. I went to speak to anyone with ears and they would not release the name to me. His father was just called in Sweden, where my great friend is from and it is confirmed, he was instantly killed. Now I sit on my couch (where he was staying) among his jacket and computer and clothes and I am in shock.
Love the people in your life, you never know when the chance to hug them will be taken away. Take care of yourselves. I need some time.

Megl here! I'm filling in for Katie today and I'm happy to do so because today's hump is on a brand that I'm a huge fan of! I am also a die-hard Marco Pelusi follower. I've seen his genius first hand and he has gotten absolutely crazy positive reviews on megsmakeup before Marco's previous raves
I was over the moon when he let me know he has a gloss out. I can't get a brush through my hair without his anti-frizz leave in conditioner and I'm pretty new to the world of glosses. I have really fine hair that's dry and brittle on the ends but can get uber oily around the scalp. Gloss and shiners translated to "oily" and "limp" in my mind. I was all "OMG Marco! I can't wait to try it!" But inside I was nervous because I am a total newbie and wasn't even sure how you work a gloss. Marco, being not only a hair guru but teacher to so many stylists calmly explained it to me "After you blow dry, you need to make the hair look healthy and shiny, take a TINY amount (about the size of the tip of a q-tip for my fine tresses).Work it through your hair, it will detangle and control fly-aways and promote sheen
The Master had spoken. He said this to me while working on a woman in his chair at his signature salon. I felt even better when his client said " Oh, you'll love it! It's great! It makes my hair look so good. I always get compliments that my hair looks fab when I use it." It wasn't that I doubted Marco, it was that I doubted my hair. How can a girl doubt Marco? He really does think of everything. This is the Rolls Royce of glosses. It has color guard and sunscreen and vitamin e and silicone and its water soluble. He really is an expert on color so does everything he can to jam pack his products with all the goodies to keep your lock vibrant and protected. It's not a huge bottle but when used properly will last 6 months. It also is not sticky and made my hands feel great! It's just a quality product and I am now THE GLOSS QUEEN! After I give myself a blow out I grab for this gloss and I'm very happy with the results. If you suffer from any dull or dryness I would recommend you try his leave-in conditioner and finish off with this gloss. You'll be having many a great hair day!
Sweetassgal here! I have mentioned before that my hair went through a complete follicle metamorphosis about three years ago. Living for 32 years with stick straight hair I awoke one day to find my fine straight hair was slowly becoming coarse and curly. I was completely unaware of how to deal with this type of hair and set about to turn my frizzy mass of kinky tendrils into luscious Botticelli curls! After about three years of curl-intensive research and countless failures I've managed to learn a thing or two. First off, cocktails are good...I'm talking the kinds served with a little pink umbrella as well as the hair cocktails you create by mixing several products together. And they both have one thing in common, know when to say when! Don't overload your hair with too many products or you'll create a heavy mess that leaves you looking like you've been working the fry cook shift with Brandon "Greasy Bear" Davis. I shudder. Secondly, no one is going to get Meg Ryan in "The Women" curls from product alone so don't set yourself up for the failure...damn impossible "I look perfect even while gardening and finding out my husbands cheating with an even more impossible looking twenty something" Hollywood standards!
Meg here! Boy oh boy! Do I have a topic I want to share with all of you. I am so curious to hear your thoughts on this one! This has nothing to do with make-up but more on relationships and how the internet has affected your actions or whether or not you would date a guy after you have Googled him.
Alright, here it is, I've had a shit year. I'm getting divorced, I've had dates that left much to be desired and before New Year's I wasn't expecting anything. I wasn't even thinking a peck on the cheek before the ball drop (no pun intended).
Ken and I met at a Christmas party. We laughed together for a few days. By day 5 I was moved in ( I mean I got space in the closet, met the parents and had my own underwear drawer) but kept my own residence as well. Momma didn't raise no fool :) I'm giddy, I'm so happy, everything is rainbows and unicorns! Then I Google him!
Kate here! I feel a little guilty, but I haven't had any just great new products to review lately except this one. But it's actually a Drugstore Deal! (Sorry Gigi, but I just couldn't help myself!) Now, I'm luxury cosmetics all the way. I don't even use any drugstore products except for toothpaste and $4 Le Petit Marseillais body washes which I import from France (my dad brings back 3 at a time from business trips), but this state-side product is AMAZING. Oil of Olay In-Shower Body Lotion.
Vexy here! your Friday Fragrance fiend starting off with, first of all, an apology for my lack of activity as of late. It's been a hectic winter break that started off with food poisoning and ended with my poor boy having pneumonia- bless his heart! But the good news is, while I was away, I definitely had time to play- with fragrances!
So I'll start off with something that came up over Christmas while I was having a conversation with my mother about perfumes. (Actually, I think the particular conversation I was having with my mom stemmed from a conversation I'd had earlier with my boyfriend.) Anyway, we were talking about signature fragrances, and, out of curiosity, I asked her if there were any fragrances she wore before her current selection of Clinique's Happy (which is what she wears now).
"Oh! When I was younger," she replied, "I wore a lot of Chanel #5. I almost got a bottle of it for you for Christmas this year."
Now, here is where I blaspheme the entire religion of perfume, since #5, Dior's Poison, and Thierry Mugler's Angel seem to be the holy trinity (just by popularity). I had to explain to my mother that I, in fact, do not like Chanel #5. For my tastes, at least, it is far too strong and synthetic-smelling; plus, my experiences with it have mostly been with older ladies putting it on themselves in clouds. This is no offense to anyone who likes or wears Chanel #5, but I have to be honest here. Sorry, Marilyn, but I'd rather wear Meg's Makeup perfume in bed. ;)
Gigi here! What's up, doc? If you live in most of the country, it's definitely not the weather. With temperatures plummeting to record-breaking numbers, I've actually found myself in my warm, well-insulated home, dreading my usual joy of a daily shower (what-I'm supposed to undress now?). Not a second passes that I'm not re-applying lip balm. When it came to choosing a product to review, moisturizers beckoned to me at Walgreen's, despite the excess I own. Thus I succumbed once more-but it's all good. No, it's amazing!\r
Jeanasina here! Hello information seeking people who look to Megsmakeup.com for actual facts and not vapid fluff when it comes to wanting reviews of products we want to try and add to our arsenal of beauty favorites! Today is Body Beautiful Wednesday!I thought it was time to give a full blown review to my favorite product which I mention on my personal profile page. Ocean Actives Topical Deep Water Squalane!
The one item I absolutely would need to take with me at all costs would be my Ocean Actives Topical Deep Water Squalane skin moisturizer! I discovered Dr. Lark's skin care products many years ago when I got a sample in the mail of this deep water squalane product. I kept it in a drawer for a long time and then one day I thought "What the heck?" I put the generous little sample on my face before I went to bed. I loved the soft lavender scent (you can get this scented or without a scent). The texture is like putting a raindrop on your skin and you just massage it in and it immediately absorbs. The next morning I dragged my tired buttocks to the bathroom to splash water on my still sleeping face when I looked into the mirror and my eyes immediately did the cartoon bug out because my face looked GOOD! Really good! I was impressed and I wanted more of product and to learn more about Dr. Lark the name behind Ocean Actives skin care. Plus my face felt incredibly soft!
