DECLEOR AROMESSENCE SKIN CARE! GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!

Mon, 06/30/2008 - 10:27pm
  • Face

Sweetassgal here to bring you the best natural and organic products our Mother Earth has to offer us by the way of Green Chi Tuesdays!

We have many, many resident Anglophiles' here at Megs...and its no wonder. If David Beckham is reminiscent of ANYTHING English then Bob's your Uncle and pass the bangers and mash! I have a great appreciation for anything European so I can't just limit myself to the Brits. A hot nightclub on Las Ramblas in Barcelona, oh yeah...an even hotter Italian gondolier wearing tight black pants in Venice, oh baby! But I must admit through it all, I have an affinity for all things French. I adore the haute cuisine, love the smooth sophistication, and fawn over the fashionable couture.

I went with two of my best gal pals to make the trek across the pond in our mid to late-twenties. I had just begun a two month relationship with a guy that I was fighting my true feelings about when we took off for Europe. I'm a 'rules' girl and was refusing to admit this was the guy I was going to marry. I was desperately trying to be aloof and act like I didn't care that we were continents apart. Paris, however...had other plans. Strolling down the rue Saint - Honore' and trying my darndest NOT to look like a gawking American I came across a beautiful Parisian salon with it's name emblazoned across the front of the building. There it was...the name of my new guy back in California...Franck Provost...elegantly scripted in basic black. Shedding my temporarily adopted European cool I raced across the street and immediately demanded the girls take my picture under the sign (can you say TOURISTE!?!). I had never heard the name Provost before and now here it was...halfway around the world staring me right in the face. I took it as a sign and told him I loved him the SECOND the plane landed back in the States. We were married a year later and I still love my Franko to this day.

Enter in one of the most elegantly French of all things beautiful and Parisian...Decleor Aromessence Skin Care products. I, in particular love the Decleor Aromessence Ylang Ylang oil treatment. This is the antidote to oily skin. Its blend of essential oils has both purifying and regulating properties. It is a potent treatment which helps rebalance sebaceous secretion and deep cleanses and brightens congested complexions. Now, I tend to run oily so let me tell you I was VERY skeptical about putting additional OIL on my already GREASE slick of a complexion. Seems like overkill to me. However, I did the research, read the reviews and decided to trust in the French and go for it. And I was SO glad I did. Not only are the aromatherapy properties soothing and a remarkably luxurious way to end my day but it actually DID get my oil production under control! I have NEVER been able to go several hours without reapplying powder until I began using this gorgeous product. I only use it at night and just a little goes a long way but I will not be without this for as long as my skin remains OHH-LA-LA clear, soft, and ultra luminous!

Check it out (and the rest of their great products) at DECLEOR

Created in Paris in 1974, Decleor is now recognized worldwide as the most comprehensive and effective range of Aromatherapy Face and Body Treatments. Essential oils with their many beneficial properties (aromatherapy) have been the basis of the Decleor product range. With Decleor you will discover a new approach to beauty that will dramatically increase the results of your care treatment. Let yourself drift through Decleors subtle and beneficial aromas. Based on Eastern holistic philosophies, Decleor approach to beauty is indeed unique in its combination of the purest, most potent and natural ingredients.

For all of you other skin-type girls out there...there is a Decleor natural Aromessence Oil for you too! The Visage Angelique is perfect for dry or dehydrated skin, Neroli compliments regular skin to combination, Rose de Orient pampers sensitive skin, and Aromessence Iris energizes and redefines mature skin.

Well, I'm taking my gorgeous looking French inspired skin off to a boulevard cafe for some fine French champagne with my distantly French husband. It doesn't get any better than that!

Chime in girls...have you tried any of these wonderful oils? Let us know what you think and as always...GLAM ON megsmakeup gals!

I finally had perfected my blowout and make up routine...After a visit to the Kevin Josepehson Salon-I learned I was a mere amateur..Kevin transformed my frizzy locks to a perfect Bridget Bardot coif...Next I was escorted for my spray tan...Angela used an all organic tan mixture and thorougly bronzed my whole body evenly...Next was my make up.. EVE LOM FACIAL CLEANSER! XSTATIC XPLORES THE XOTIC!

Sun, 06/29/2008 - 11:57am
  • Face

Eve Lom Facial Cleanser! Xstatic Xplores the Xotic!

Xstatic817 here with my first xotically xcellent review. I wasn't sure what to pick for my first review...would it be exotic enough for Meg's readers? And what exactly does exotic mean anyhow? I consulted the Mr.'s Merriam and Webster and found that exotic can mean "introduced from another country," "strikingly, excitingly, or mysteriously different or unusual," or "of or relating to striptease." Much as I really wanted to go for a product that fit the latter description, I resigned myself to choosing a product that fit the two former ones. That, and for some reason, the "x" key on my keyboard has ceased to work properly so I felt it best to leave out any "xxx" material. And so I present to you my HG of skincare products, Eve Lom Facial Cleanser.

What makes it eotic? Or eXotic? (Stupid keyboard I may or may not have spilled yogurt on last week.) Well, first off, I don't know how to pronounce "Lom." Does it rhyme with "Tom" or "foam"? In my world, unsure pronunciation = exotic. Getting back to the dictionary's definition, it is from another country - Czechoslovakia, by way of England. Ms. Lom is a Czech-born facialist/esthetician, who originally worked in Hollywood before crossing the pond to London. Because everything cult-ish-ly fab has to be British, or European at the very least. Apparently, in London, Eve studied anatomy, nutrition, and massage and then studied acupuncture in China. Somewhere in there, this amazing skincare line was born, based on her philosophy (which I whole-heartedly agree with) that "deep, thorough cleansing" and "less is more" are key when it comes to effective skincare.

Everything about this cleanser is strikingly, excitingly, mysteriously different and unusual. Let's start with the ingredients. The Eve Lom website states that it contains "a blend of four aromatherapy oils," which after some minor sleuthing (and clicking on the "Ingredients" link) I have discovered to be chamomile, clove, eucalyptus, and hops oils. It also contains mineral oil and cocoa butter, which my brain tells me should be clogging my oily, blackhead-plagued skin, but it doesn't. It actually helps prevent clogs. Mysterious indeed. Then there's the process of how you actually use it. The consistency of the cleanser is somewhere between syrup and wet sand, depending on the weather (it gets gooier as it gets hotter out, but this doesn't affect its cleansing properties). You massage this goo onto dry skin. Then there is an optional 7-step massage you can do if your skin is a bit "congested." I did this process twice a week when I first got the cleanser. My husband thought I was insane. He likened it to performing a magic spell on my face. Well, call me Harry Potter, because my skin is not congested anymore. Next, you take the special muslin cloth - and only this special muslin cloth - and run it under hot water, then wring it out, place it on your face, and hold it there for five seconds. Then you do this again. And again. Three times. I'm not kidding. This is supposed to "soften the skin" and "activate the essential oils," as per the detailed instruction sheet the cleanser comes with. Next, you proceed to wash off the cleanser with the cloth as you would any face wash. The final step is to run the cloth under cold water, then hold this to your face for 5 seconds. And then the ritual is complete.

And it is a ritual. That's the only downside to this cleanser. You're not going to be able to wash your face in less than 15 seconds with this stuff. It's a bit of a commitment. Personally, I find the extra five minutes it takes to wash my face in the evening (you only use the cleanser at night) somewhat relaxing. The cleanser has a pleasant herbal smell, which I find to be very spa-like. But best of all - it works. My skin has never looked better. I don't need to wear as much makeup to make my skin look decent anymore. Heck, some days I even go out of the house without foundation on! For me, this is just about equivalent to saying that sometimes I go out without pants on. Oops, veering into "xxx" territory now.

Sadly, perfection doesn't come cheap. The cleanser costs $85 for 100 ml, and $150 for 200 ml. I bought the big tub; it's been six months and I'm only about halfway through it. I'm very big on cost-effectiveness like this. I'm OK with paying top dollar for a product that both works and lasts. Eve Lom is only available in the US (as far as I know) at spacenk.com. However, if you want to personally experience the current weakness of the American dollar, it is also available for purchase in Euros on Ms. Lom's website, evelom.com. I recommend the Starter Collection from space.nk which contains mini sizes of the cleanser, muslin cloth, rescue mask, and moisturizer for $45.

Exotic enough for ya? What do you think? Am I crazy for paying this much for what is, essentially, soap? Or maybe for performing this "rite of the cloth" nightly?

EYE-DO'S! MASCARAS OF THE MOMENT! SATURDAYS AT SEPHORA!

Sat, 06/28/2008 - 12:56pm
  • Eyes

Katie the resident Saturday's at Sephora resident here to tell you how to make your peepers pop!

I always tease one of my coworkers Dalone (dscute) about her Mascara of the Month. She becomes obsessed with one mascara at a time usually and sells it almost exclusively to anyone she can get to listen! Although, to her credit she usually picks some good ones! So this week I thought that I would share with you my seven favorite mascaras (one for every day of the week)...some of the moment...some classics...and see what I got! Now keep in mind I currently own well over ten different mascaras and picking five required much discernment! I can't really put them "order" because I use different mascaras for different purposes and to achieve different effects so don't think I'm playing favorites!

Smashbox Bionic Mascara: I love how soft and feather this ionic formula leaves my lashes feeling. Aloe, silk, and wheat proteins also soften and condition. And you can work up some Major MAJOR volume with this little baby!
Diorshow Blackout: This mascara is really the blackest of the black. I'm a very dark brunette so I feel like the extra blackness of this really makes my eyes pop that much more. Plus the kohl formula is much creamier than the original Diorshow. So it doesn't dry out as quick. Also the brush is a little bit slimmer and easier to wield.
Sugar DoubleWink: If you don't mind an extra step, this double ended mascara is for you. It also gives a soft, feather effect (Crusty lashes are a large pet-peeve of mine. Plus both ends are a full-size tube so really its two in one. You can wear them separate or together. One is a lengthener and one is volumizing. This is a super bargain, in my humble opinion!
Givenchy Eye-fly: Here I go again with the soft and feather effect... but, the volume that you achieve with the Eye-fly is monumental! I love the sleek Givenchy packaging too!
UrbanDecay Skyscraper: This has been a longtime favorite. They were so innovative and they made the multi-dimensional brush way before DiorShow Unlimited ever thought of it. One side of the brush is flat for really building on some length while the bristled side can be used to add volume. Please note though, that really this is mostly a length builder.
Cargo Better-than-waterproof: I am generally VERY wary of waterproof mascaras. I don't want them to run but I wan' them to come off when I say come off! This is the same formula as their Texas Lash and its recently accrued cult following, but waterproof. I love how it really doesn't come off in the swimming pool but if you get a little cleanser or makeup remover on it it turns into gummy flakes that peel right off! And you don't loose 3/4 of your lashes in the process! It's genius.
Sephora Brand Triple Action Mascara: This is a great standby. It lengthens, volumizes, and curls. Doesn't flake or creep down and give you raccoon eyes. And is a lovely $12.

What are all your "mascara's of the moment"?

TOVA SIGNATURE SCENTS! FRAGRANT FRIDAYS!

Fri, 06/27/2008 - 10:20am
  • Body

Hello! Vexy here, your Friday fragrance fiend, bringing you the best in sexy scents and scintillating smells. I want to say thank you again to Meg and the rest of the bunch for giving me this opportunity to share my love of cosmetics with the world. I'm so excited to be part of the Meg's Makeup family and to bring you the best in fragrance!

I admit, dear ladies, there have been quite a few times in the past few weeks where I have felt decidedly unladylike. I had a nice little slip and fall on a wet floor at a store- nothing more sexy then laying on the floor, clutching your knee, right? Long story short, I managed to dislocate my knee; which means not only have I been hobbling around on crutches (which means wearing a bra aslittle as possible at home to help with chafing), but I've been relegated to wearing sweatpants under this ugly-as-sin immobilizer that looks like something out of a bad Walgreens First-Aid nightmare. It's this big blue and white foam monstrosity with white velcro straps and it goes all the way from my calf to my upper thigh. To make matters worse, it's hot as heck to wear so the sweatiness doesn't help me feel any prettier!

What does this have to do with fragrance? Well, for me, one of the most basic- and effective- ways of feeling beautiful is smelling beautiful. That's why, when I got my bottle of Tova, I was excited beyond belief! I've seen it sold on QVC for years (by Ernest Borgnine's wife!) and it always struck me as a kind of "sophisticated lady" scent. You know, one that the lounge singers wore in smoky 40's nightclubs, leaning over a grand piano. The first thing that struck me was the packaging. It was perfectly simple and elegant, with just a white and gold box; and the bottle was just as simple: a frosted glass rectangle with smooth corners and a sleek black and gold cap. I was excited to try something that looked so elegant, especially since that seems to be something I've been lacking lately!

The description of the scent on the QVC website says: "A tapestry of rare bergamot citrus laced with a rich, romantic blend of absolute jasmine and lavender, combined with a lush undertone of sandalwood and a hint of seductive musk." The top notes of this perfume are definitely citrusy, so much so that I was almost disappointed- I was expecting sophisticated and smooth, not citrusy and peppy (not that there's anything wrong with citrus!). But the top notes fade quickly to leave behind the most lovely, sweet floral scent. It's not over-the-top and the sandalwood and musk base notes give it a bit more depth than your typical floral perfume. I quickly felt so pretty that I actually hobbled out to my piano to start playing some elegant music to go with it! This scent is a definite for a romantic night out, calling to mind candlelit dinners and low-lit bars. Just be careful about going overboard- as with any scent, it can be very overwhelming if you use too much!

What about all of you superb, sophisticated scent-ers? Have any of you experienced the smooth, simple elegance of Tova's Signature Scent?

PHYSICIANS FORMULA CUSTOM EYE ENHANCING SHADOW & LINER! WELCOME GIGI OUR DRUGSTORE DEAL WRITER!!

Wed, 06/25/2008 - 9:38pm
  • Eyes

Champ3377 here with my veryt first DD review! Ladies please chime in!

I’m thrilled to be here (thank you Meg, Kate, and the rest of you truly beautiful women who humble me!) A little about myself: I “do” pretty (Do you hear “How Lovely to be a Woman” playing in the background?) I used to do “obscenely expensive pretty,” but my job as an instructor at a private high school keeps me working nearly pro bono, though I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So now I’m all for “cheap chic.” Two years ago I told a colleague that I liked another woman’s skirt (feminine, flirty, and simply becoming on her). She raised one eyebrow and, with a face contorted by repulsion, said, “Gigi, you would. And you probably enjoy bows on packages and the color pink.” Those were fighting words. I replied, “Yes, I do. Moreover, I go crazy over roses, blossoms on trees, lilacs and hyacinth in the spring, the ocean and sky, clothing, perfume, and makeup, makeup, makeup. Should I continue?” I don’t believe she cared for that remark but, hey, I speak my mind.

Pick of the week: Physicians Formula’s Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner. Each compact contains nine coordinated matte and shimmer hues. A savvy physician whose wife was highly allergic to nearly all makeup developed this line and, as they say, the rest is history. This brand is gentle and safe for tender, allergy-prone eyes. The consistency is soft--finely milled and blends effortlessly. These shades can easily take you from work to a special night out, as you control the intensity of pigment. No separate eyeliner necessary here—smudge one of the deep shades beneath lashes or create a smoldering “cat eye.” Only one grumble: Physicians Formula has promoted these shadows by advising you choose a palette to match your own eye color. I disagree. At the reasonable drugstore price for this, buy several and experiment! The item shown here is meant for hazel eyes (like mine). Evidently they feel that browns and mauves work best, but think back to grade school or art class. Recall the color wheel? Complementary shades create contrast and make eye color appear more vivid. Actually, hazel/green is also greatly enhanced by variations of lavender, eggplant, and violet as well as those shown. Brown eyes “pop” with tones of blue-gray and indigo, and blue eyes (lucky you!) are flattered with shades of camel, taupe, and brown. Be wary of pink-based shadow. Wearing a shade infused with orange (as it often is), may leave you looking like you’ve developed a serious case of conjunctivitis (not attractive, to be sure). However, PF colors are pure pinks, so not to worry. These palettes come with a unique, angled felt applicator (good for touch-ups), but invest in eyeshadow brushes if possible, even DD versions. Using them is akin to trading in a giant child’s marker for a felt-tip pen; you have ultimate control.

Here's what they say "Enhance your natural eye color with three blendable trios that color, contour and line your eyes for illuminating, high impact.
Available in 4 shades."

I say Drugstore Deal Worth Every Penny!

What do you say about Physicians Formula Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner?

NEUTROGENA HEALTHY SKIN REJUVENATOR! BODY BEAUTIFUL!

Wed, 06/25/2008 - 8:54am
  • Body

The time has come for all of you - young and old and even older than old to sit back at this time in your life and prepare yourself for my first Jeanasina review. I'm an official every other Wednesday Body Beautiful reviewer! Thrilling is one of the words I utter every time I read Meg’s note officially giving me power of attorney in the make-up world to represent on her site!

Hunker on up to your computer screen, slather on your favorite lip plumper and prepare to be uplifted! I have puckered up in the past and lip printed my own computer screen with at least 55 different shades of pink! And you know what? It totally messed up my screen! I can't see anything anymore! I’m telling you first hand - not even pouring Hilex Bleach right on the screen got that high tech lip gloss off! My computer is fried so I’m at the library now!

I’ll relate my recent experience with Neutrogena healthy skin rejuvenator! I am constantly on patrol monitoring my face and neck and especially my skin in the mirror. I can see every single flaw in my 600 amplification make-up mirror which is some REALLY scary stuff! My boyfriend the Harley man says I should stop looking in the magnification mirror but you know...it’s totally compelling to see if anything more diabolical has happened to your face since the day before when you last looked!

The Neutrogena healthy skin rejuvenator ad on TV and the ad mentioned ‘reducing the darkness of ugly embarrassing age spots’ - they probably just said age spots but I knew they meant ugly & embarrassing!

You are supposed to scrub with this on each section of your face for 1 or 2 minutes. I did it while watching TV to make the time go faster. The little scrubby pad is filled with some pleasant ingredient that will get even soapier if you run it under water several times throughout the procedure!

I did it exactly as the directions indicated, I was astonished at how soft my face was! I mean it was the softest I think it has ever felt in years! I diligently used it 3 times the first week as the directions state and each time I thought “WOW - this stuff really makes your skin radiant!

Then came week #2, I scrubbed a couple of days that second week concentrating on my temples because I have some large age spots there. Right around that time I noticed that on my temples there were about 50 small pimple type bumps which had cropped up and didn’t appear to be leaving any time soon. So now I had age spots and pink bumps!

I completely stopped using it which I hated to do because I loved how it made my skin glow. My esthetician told me that because I am an ’older’ woman my skin is much thinner now and that the bumps were reactions to OVER stimulating and scrubbing my elderly face!

I saw DR and he told me the bumps might never go away. So would I use this again...probably...I was thinking of trying it on my chest because that’s a virtual smorgasbord of skin damage - maybe if I’m gentle and do it only once a week it will be ok.

Any other ladies tried Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator? How'd it work for you?

JOHN MASTERS ORGANICS DRY HAIR NOURISHMENT AND DEFRIZZER! GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!

Tue, 06/24/2008 - 5:50am
  • Hair

Sweetassgal here to bring you the best natural and organic products our Mother Earth has to offer us by the way of Green Chi Tuesdays!

It's a tough world out there...rife with everyday struggles against harsh pollutants, toxic substances, and chemical exposure. No...I'm not talking about all the junk you breathe in as you INCH your way down I-5 in rush hour traffic...I'm talking about what you may be exposed to just from your average morning beauty products! That's right...the very items we turn to for comfort and confidence once applied to our skin and hair can be just as hazardous as chomping on a smog sandwich. We have become a society dedicated to the proposition that all beauty items must be pumped up with preservatives, chock full of chemicals, and have a list of ingredients longer than my Saturday night bar bill in order to be effective. Clint Eastwood here to let you know otherwise (AKA sweetassgal...AKA Angie Provost...AKA your Green Chi reviewer)...coming out with guns blazing, striking down the pesky notion that we need all of those artificial concoctions! It's a showdown at the Green Chi Corral and my bet's on this feisty bunch of beauty bearing bandoliers here at megsmakeup...get' em girls!

Since this is our first week of new reviewers (welcome gals...it's going to be great...thank you to all of our past reviewers...your wisdom has been priceless) and Meg has asked that we really try out the products she sends before weighing in on a verdict then I am simply going to start with a product that I use regularly and already know works wonders for taming my OUT OF CONTROL dry, frizzy, naturally curly hair. I've lived with stick straight and completely lifeless hair almost my entire life. I hit 30 and discovered quite by accident that my hair had begun to change. Being a working wife and mother in my thirties my hair routine had dwindled down to simply wash, upsweep and go. But one day I was interrupted before I could get my trusty clip in my hair and it dried naturally on its own. My husband looked at me 'Hey, did you know your hair is CURLY!'. WHAT THE....NO WAY" He was RIGHT! Slowly over the course of a year my hair began a complete transformation. My hair became a wild mass of inconsistent curls that were coarse, dry and completely unruly. It was like waking up one day to find some strange exotic bird had landed on your noggin' and set up permanent residence. I had NO idea how to control it.

Curly hair by nature is extremely dry and coarse. It seems that the hairs shaft lays differently than straight hair does because the folicles are open and exposed to air and pollutants. This dries out our hair, creates dull looking tresses and brings on the FRIZZ! I'm talking Nicole Kidman in the pre-Tom Cruise years, Gilda Radner on a caffeine high, Gene Shallot after the Brokeback Mountain review kind of frizz...and it AIN'T pretty ladies. This is when I discovered John Masters Organics Dry Hair Nourishment and Defrizzer. I just press a few drops through wet hair, arrange my curls, refrain from touching until completey dry and am left looking soft, smooth and OH SO SEXY! More Andy McDowell...less Andy Dick.

100% blend of pure plant and essential oils chosen for their protective, moisturizing and restorative properties. A leave-in treatment that's proven to be excellent for dry and frizzy hair. Safe for color treated hair. Rub a few drops into ends to combat split ends. Can be added to other John Masters products for extra conditioning. Can be applied to wet or dry hair. Enriched with Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil*), Daucus Carota (Helio-carrot Oil*), Squalene (Olives*), Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose Oil*), Essential Oils of Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender*), Cedrus Atlantica (Cedarwood*), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary*)
*Certified Organic

Please let me know what you think if you've ever tried this as well! Just a note...my only complaint is that this does smell rather 'herb-ie' at first (rosemary...duh...lavender...double duh...cedarwood...HELLO duh) but it dissipates after just a minute or so in your hair and many, many ladies I know LOVE the calming effects of those scents. Are you one of them....good or bad...let's hear it!

John Master Organics-Buy It Here

Now...if I only had this control, curl and volume in the 80's I could have RULED THE WORLD!
Any chance we can bring back this BIG HAIR loving decade?...probably not. I guess I'll just have to settle for secretly wearing my neon jelly bracelets while listening to Duran Duran and dreaming of becoming the ninth member of the Brat Pack!

GLAM ON megsmakeup gals!!!

MARCO PELUSI TIPS!

Mon, 06/23/2008 - 7:07am
  • Hair

Yikes! For some reason LA gals this didn't email blast out! So sorry my computer let me down!~Meg

Meg here, so I always complain about my hair. It's dry and brittle and oily at the scalp. On top of it, my hair has several different hair colors blended in the back since my patience is pretty low and I just grab a box at the drugstore to fix it. You know when you do that it makes you afraid to go to a real professional. Like when you haven't been to the dentist in a long time.

I was afraid Marco would "tssk tssk", me for doing it myself.

I was a little nervous walking into the zen Marco Peluso studio. Was Marco going to chew me out for turning to the box for so long? Why was my hair just so blah? Was he going to cut it all off ala Mia Farrow pixie?

"Hmm, well, it's no so bad. I mean, I understand that you can't come in all the time and we can fix this up. I would tell your readers that they can do it themselves but every once in a while they should see a professional to just even it all out and fix the hard to reach places."

How cool is Marco to say that? That literally was the first time I wasn't scolded by a hairdresser for not coming in.

That's one of the many awesome things about Marco, he's realistic. He also doesn't give you any sell or song or dance. He's an artist and I told him to just look at my tresses and I trusted his creative decisions.

Marco turned my mousey-tri colored mess (I'm working on the picture of the results-hope it will be up by this afternoon-scanner issues) into a hair commercial. He used paint brushes and foils and painted deep caramel low lights, buttery warm highlights and an over-all tone that didn't wash me out but projected a golden glow around my face. With the grey issue, being an all-over brunette is just not feasable anymore. With my pale skin being a blond makes me look ill. When Marco finished blowing my hair out and swirled my chair around, I had Giselle's multi-hued locks (if he could give me Giselle's ab's I'd kill for him).

Marco's™ Color Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard, was reviewed on Megs makeup before Read Comments Here! and everyone went wild for it. Marco has one word Collagen! Collagen! Collagen! I need it in my skin, I use to inject it in my lips and now, I find out~Your hair has it, it's anti-aging, but guess what we lose everywhere as we age? Yup, Collagen. Here I am picking Marco's Collagen obsessed brain!

Collagen, It is really the plumper for youth, skin and hair? Why do we need it and why does the sun deplete it?

As we age, our body loses its ability to produce and repair collagen, which is the structural scaffold of skin and hair. Daily factors such as environmental pollutants, heat styling and color processing further compromise the collagen protein structure of hair causing the hair to become brittle and dull -- in essence making the hair shaft resemble a road full of potholes.

Your products are the only ones concentrating on Collagen and its anti-aging benefits. What led you to this Holy Grail?

I spent many years of my career working in the lab with the chemists at major haircolor manufacturers, creating color products and haircare to prevent color fadage. I went back to a well-respected chemist who is a longtime family friend, and asked him to create a product system on my behalf specifically to prevent premature color fade, as well as boost condition, haircolor longevity, vitality and tone. It was really a beautiful thing that happened: several formulas with which we worked contained collagen, or at least a form of collagen. I therefore asked if it would be possible to include a form of collagen in each and every product to prevent premature color fade, and he said yes! That’s how it started.

Last but not least..Lets get to know you!

The #1 tip I wish I could give to every women about her tresses?

Condition, condition, condition. Even women who care deeply about their hair, whether it’s for work, or career purposes, or just to look and/or feel good, often overlook it. Many women forget or are unable to spend time deep conditioning their hair. If they could just find a little time every other day or at least once a week, they would improve their hair health. I will be launching an easy-to-use product in the near future that will aid in the much-needed deep conditioning and reconstructing of hair.

Why my products take care of you like nobody's business?

Collagen literally fills in the holes in the hair, much like tar fills in potholes on a road. That’s what hair looks like. The hair shaft, when exposed to sun, wind, heat from styling, and especially color processing, has holes in different areas. These ‘holes’ can cause the hair can look dull, dry, lifeless, and can cause the color to fade. The collagen in my products literally fills in these gaps, and closes the outer layer of the hair. The collagen actually works to seal in the color and create shine and luster.

I LOVE all of my products but if I could just suggest one it would be?

Marco™ Color Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard™. This signature product is an ultra luxurious, light and airy leave-in conditioner expressly formulated to replenish the hair’s own natural reserves. It’s a must have for all hair types, for any woman with any length of hair, whether it’s fine or thick or coarse or wavy, it all depends on how much your hair needs. My Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner can literally change the hair in one application. Celebrities such as Carol Alt and Stacy Keibler cannot live without it, along with most of my female clients. In fact, I have to send Carol gallons of it on a regular basis. Use it on towel-dried, freshly shampooed hair, just a few pumps, for best results, either before a blow dry, or simply to let the hair dry on its own. Everyone just loves it!!!

My theme song?

Any 80s music whatsoever. Duran Duran, Howard Jones, The Cure, Madonna, or any cheesy 80s TV show theme song, like Dynasty or Falcon Crest.

JULIE HEWETT OMIT CONCEALER PENCIL! GODDESS GRANNY SUNDAYS!

Mjsred here, and I am gorgeous and I am a grammy!
Lip liner and women "of a certain age" can be a recipe for looking like the clown in Steven King's book "IT"....God...I hate clowns! I also hate that "ring of death" women get sold by some at the beauty counter who are hell-bent on multiple sales whether they flatter or not.

Just sayin' that unless you have the crisp lipline of a tween, you run the risk of making the delicate around the lip area worse than it has to be by etcha-sketching around it with a colored pencil.

Enter "Julie Hewett Omit Concealor Pencil".One neutral shade does all and it blends on like a dream around the lips leaving behind not a lot of color but just a cleaner canvas and the effect of a "reverse" lipliner that truly gives one a great place to start working the magic!
It subtly defines the shape of your lips, doesn't cause any caking or travel to cracks-unknown, and in my case, smooths out those tiny lil' dots left behind by my darlin' derma-guy's Restalayne needle!

Can also be used on any other minute flaw that dares to show itself. From there, you can apply whatever look younger, fresher, and more finished
without any hard edges to confirm that you're eligible for a discount before 6pm.at some of the hot eateries.:) Also great to carry along and refresh any lil'smears that are better left on your wine glass...

Julie's high-quality products are among my favs and this little pencil is one of her best insider tools for anyone who wants to look a bit more finished but doesn't want to risk coloring outside the lines at a stoplight when she should be eyeballing the hot guy crossing the street...

This Granny that looks like a thirty something loves it!

Any other Julie Hewitt fans out there? GODDESS

Hugs,
Ruthann your "Goddess Granny" :)
