PHYSICIAN'S FORMULA! ORGANIC WEAR 100% NATURAL ORIGIN MASCARA!

organic mascaraSweetassgal here SO excited to let you all know my sojourn through the rocky landscape of unemployment was emotional and thank God... over!  I started a new job today just two weeks after I lost my job. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am considering the state of things in this world. If I didn't know any better I'd say all the wonderful Megheads who wished me well had a direct line to the head honcho upstairs because our prayers were answered big time. Thanks EVERYONE for your love and support. Time and time again you prove why Megsmakeup.com is the BEST site out there for unparalleled knowledge of the latest and greatest as well as the most incredible collection of women on the planet!

Having anticipated I would be losing my last job since Thanksgiving I have been what most would call "one tight-fisted stingy witch"! I'm talking old school, depression era baby, butt puckered so tight they could use it to seal a submarine kind of cheap. Upon the news of my pending employment I did something I haven't allowed myself to do in months. I hit my local CVS and gave myself carte blanche to buy anything I wanted... and without a coupon to boot!  Now I know there are women who would have run to the Chanel counter at Nordie's to satisfy this type of craving but I'm still conservative in these unsure times and a little red basket to fill at CVS gave me just the retail fix I needed. It was heaven!

I came away with some great little finds like a spritzer of my fave cheap perfume to keep at my new desk (Coty Wild Musk... just $5 and I swear I get so many compliments when I wear it), a cute little dual side mirror compact with daisy shaped rhinestones for at desk freshening and a few new organic options to try out from Physician's Formula. This week I've been testing out their Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara to see how it stacks up against the other natural mascara's I've used in the past.

The first thing I noticed was the super cute packaging. The tube sits soft and comfortably in the palm of your hand and sports the cutest little metallic green leaf wand cap. It definitely doesn't look like your average tube of black lash goo. The second I whipped out the applicator I knew it was going to be great for precision lashes and definition.  And I was right.  The brush has very short and dense bristles that comb out your lashes and separate without clumping.  In my opinion this makes it a great every day mascara for swipe and go definition in a snap.

For those of us who need a little more oomph or just like FAT FAT FAT lashes then this probably isn't the mascara for you.  The formula is excellent, it doesn't flake or clump and it stays on throughout a 14 hour day with ease, but it's not the mascara I'd turn to for a glamorous night out.  In comparison I'd say it has better packaging and smoother application than the Gabriel's Cosmetics mascara I've recommended in the past but the Gabriel's had a slightly thicker formula allowing for more volume. Not to bring up a sore subject, but I'd say any girl who likes their Great Lash would like the Physicians Natural for the same defining clump-free formula.

All girlie eyelash batting aside, I'd be extremely remiss if I didn't let you know that I personally believe Physicians Formula is vastly improving on the quality of their natural products and the mission behind them in the last year. Their Natural Origins Mascara has the highest level of pure ingredients wrapped around a 100% recyclable eco brush, is 100% free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, and parabens, and boasts clump, smudge, and flake free lashes. Physicians even has the honor of being the first Ecocert certified line of makeup in the United States! All of that and you can just pop into your local drugstore with an Alexander Hamilton to make it your own.

As lines expand into organic options, we are going to push the envelope between a great organic mascara and just a plain old fantastic mascara that just happens to be organic. The more we think about the kinds of chemicals we put RIGHT next to our source of vision, the more we will begin to demand the purest options without sacrificing fat daddy lashes. The best of both worlds is right around the corner. I can just feel it.  Until then Physician's Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara is a great option for fuss free daily wear and definition. Check out their entire line at www.organicwearmakeup.com and see how you can cut the junk out of your makeup routine for a better you.

For now I'll be keeping an eye on Physicians Formula to see what new surprises they have in store for this girl, just recently returned to the wonderful world of retail therapy. GLAM ON!

Have you ladies tried out the Physicians Formula mascara? What did you think?
What's your opinion on natural organic mascaras?

I really like Physicians formula because they have one under-eye concealer that works miracles. It's the only one I use and has been since I discovered it in high school. Each time I go buy a new one, I get scared that the company will go out of business or the product will get discontinued and I'll be a raccoon forever. I have seriously considered buying 2 or 3 each time and just stockpiling, just in case...:) good thing you reviewed this product, sounds like the company is doing well and my concealer is safe!

Mascaras are my bete noire.  I need to find a good one that does not irritate my eyes.  Just gave Kiehl's mineral mascara a try but cannot wear it everyday.  Am on my way to CVS and will pick this up.  Having mascara on swelling and pink eyes is not the look I want.  Thanks for the tip and Stacy B, what is the concealer???

Congrats on the job, so happy to hear about it! :) I haven't tried any organic mascaras, but am interested in trying one for everyday wear. I like long, thick lashes so I'm not sure if this one in particular would suit me

That packaging really is adorable, and the brush is the type I prefer.  I'm a bit skeptical of organic beauty products as I'm not sure they'll perform as well, but if it has your seal of approval maybe it's worth a shot!

THis is the best mascara I've ever used.  No clumping, perfect lashes every time!!! THe big bonus is that it is organic and it makes me feel safe knowing that I''m not putting anything toxic near my peepers.  Highly recommend this great product!!! Thanks, Meg for confirming what I've known for a long time.

I've always wanted to try this because I was drawn to the packaging at first lol. I'd love to use this during the day, since I DREAM of having FAT FAT FAT lashes and it NEVER happens even with high end mascaras so I've kinda given up that my long fine lashes wont get fat LOL.

YAY!  congratulations on bouncing back into the working world so quickly!  I know you must feel so relieved.  I've used a few Physicians Formula cosmetics in the past, but not recently.  This mascara sounds promising.  I don't leave the house without mascara on - but sometimes my "serious" mascara looks a bit much.  I love my Givenchy and Dior - but when I'm just going to Target or taking the dogs to the vet - I might be a tad bit overdone...

I'm so very happy to hear that your search for a new job is over! On the other topic, I have been using this mascara for several months with very good results. I also have had no problems with flaking or clumping. My only wish is that my local target carried more of these products - the ulta store is a tiny bit of a drive and has a decent selection - and that the mascara came in a brownish black. For those ladies who want the "fat" lash look, a simple primer applied before this mascara will do that quite nicely. I use the Origins primer; this mascara on top of that primer makes my lashes HUGE and long. The mascara also comes off effortlessly, so no tugging or pulling on the skin or lashes. Of course, that means this is not waterproof at all so just keep that in mind. I was very glad to see that this line's Ecocert award was mentioned in the review as that is not an easy achievement. Like SAG said, the quality of these products has improved, and is right now very very good. I encourage anyone to give their products a try. Great product, and a great review, thanks SAG. (Btw I am not sure if abbreviating sweetassgal to SAG is appreciated, but it is done with love and respect. )

I am trying to find products without all the junk.  If we try a more natural mascara we need to be prepared to toss it faster because whether we scrape the cylinder or forget we bought it, it will not last as long as those with preservatives.  Congrats on the new job!  And for those of us who have been holding tightly to our hard earned paychecks, there is a fabulous coupon for free shipping on all Sephora orders: s9gb124.  I used it today.

I love the packaging, Sometimes that is a warning more put into the packaging than in the package, but it is good to have a positive review. The only ecco mascara i have ever tried was 100% pure from QVC and it was a major disappointment, The entire line is very suble, which in my language means it had hardly any color. You look as naturally bad as you did when you started. Even the eyeliner, which has the most beautiful raisin color is too light, boo, that stuff is expensive. I am glad Physicians Formula is surviving, one of my favorites when i was a kid back in the dark ages. They have a line by Carmindy from What not to wear, I have been tempted to buy as well. Congratulations on the job, My bestest friend in the whole world has been out of work almost 18 months. The more precise your skills, the harder it is to get a job. Just a little note, Lucy, my picture puppy passed away at the end of January. it was invitable but she had a good long run, she beat cancer 3 times and gave my mom a reason for living. I have been waiting to bury the two of them together. So now both their ashes are together in the backpack that held my roomie's mother's ashes. I bought the niche already. Life is hard. Lucy will remain the face of tortiequeen .as a tribute t one heck of a dog.

I am proud to say i use this mascara EVERYDAY. I find that it is light weight and does not clump. I like to layer it on a few times and i find it makes my lashes look quite large. the reason why i even tried this product is because it was on sale at walgreens for $2 and i thought for that price i couldn't beat it, but then i fell in love!

I'm so so happy for you Sweetassgal!!!  Wow, two weeks and you already have a job - that's so wonderful.  I hope the new workplace is great and you get along well with everyone.  <3  As for the mascara you've reviewed here, it sounds like a pretty great organic option.  I quite like "glam" fat lashes, so I might give this one a miss.  Great review as per usual, though!  : ]

Glad to hear you're employed again! Unemployment is hard. I usually like what I try from Physician's Formula - but I'm allergic to the beeswax in all their mascaras! So that really stinks for me. I like Gabriel Color and Lavera mascaras, though - they're both vegan and work decently well.
