FACE STOCKHOLM MOLLY EYE PENCIL! EXPLORING NEW COLORS!
SharonD here! As I mentioned in my last post, I love to experiment with eye makeup, in any color of the rainbow and then some. I am not afraid to try any color or mix any colors I can think of. Recently, Meg sent me an eye pencil called Molly, which was made in Germany and from a company called FACE Stockholm. I always love to research a company before trying their products and since I had never heard of Face Stockholm, I was ready for them to impress me.
The company was founded by Gun Nowak who was born in a small village in the Swedish countryside and had big plans to travel the world. In the 70’s and 80’s, she owned three of the hippest fashion boutiques in Sweden but could not find makeup to match the crazy neon fashions of the time. Nowak said she didn’t set out to do a makeup business per se, but when she couldn’t find the right colors anywhere she saw an opportunity. She opened her first shop in 1980 and it was an immediate success. Nowak needed help and turned to her daughter, Martina Afwidson, who was launching a singing career in New York, for help. Martina could see the link between bringing out a woman’s inner beauty is the same as finding your inner voice; it is all about self expression. Nowak adds, "Putting makeup on a woman is as intimate an experience as you'll find. It allows you to see who they really are. And Face Stockholm touches women. That is the part of our work that we both love." In 1990 they opened their first store in the United States in Soho and now have 40 stores world wide along with mail order, the Internet and include a hotel amenities line as well as an eyewear collection. Face Stockholm claim they are the only Swedish cosmetics company to give you makeup and skin care that is true to the Swedish beauty ideal—natural, trend-forward, simple, clean, gorgeous and fun! Needless to say, I was intrigued and on their website found out they carried more than 200 lip shades, over 150 eye shadows, blushes, foundations, powders, professional makeup tools, and a natural skin care line. They are eco-conscious, using minimal and recycled packaging and never testing on animals, which is very important to me.
The eye pencil I got was called Molly, a khaki gray color. I found the pencil to be very hard, not soft like a smoky eye kohl type pencil. At first I was a little disappointed by the tugging on my eye, but learned that if you sharpen the pencil, scribble a bit on paper to round the edge, you can get a nice soft line. This color is very light, but did have the ability to bring out the green in my eyes and make them pop, especially when using emerald mascara. Wanting to play, I applied Urban Decay’s primer and then laid the pencil on its side and colored my whole lid with the Molly color. Wow, looking good. I added some yellow and pink to highlight, a dark khaki in the crease and went out for the day. The makeup stayed on and didn’t settle in the crease or under the eyes. I also found out that using the pencil sharpened and not rounded, you get a very nice thin line that would look wonderful right at your lash lines. Molly might not be the color for this, but trust me - there will be several colors you will drool over when you see what they offer on the website. Blenda, Disa, Jeanann and Nina are just a few of the fun colors for the end of winter into spring color changes. I liked that I found I could use the pencil different ways, even using it to fill in a few lines on my brows. Molly was a very versatile color and would be a nice one to have on hand when you just aren’t sure what you want to do. It is a chameleon and can charm you into the right colors for what ever the occasion.
The wooden pencil is about six inches long with a metal cap and can be bought online for $17.00. I have not ordered so I can’t comment on shipping and handling charges. I think this a versatile product that most will glad to have in their collection.
You can find the whole FACE Stockholm eye pencil collection here.

i just chcked out their selection, wow! that's a lot of colours!!!i haven't been able to experiment much with different coloured eyeliners.. so far i've only tried black, brown and deep purple (which looks pretty much like a lighter black to me)i've been also dubbing my 120 palette as powdered eyeshadow so i have more of a variety.. but i really hate it when liner run into my crease!!!!
My new Ebay Store: cossiepieMy blog: http://lazyscorner.blogspot.com/
yes i went into their store in soho a few times. I loveee the products there! i tried on their liquid eyeliner once...and it was sooooo good! It had great staying power. Too bad it's a little bit expensive for my budget at this point, but I'll definitely buy them when I have a stable job.
I've been to the store in NYC and i thought it was a bit over my budget
LOVE the website. Its so clean and simple. The range is phenomenal and those colours look wonderful. Would really love to give it a go when they start shipping international :-D

I'm way too addicted to liquid liner now to even use pencil but the colors look great!

I love my 24/7 Urban Decay pencils too much! I would feel like I was cheating. ;-)
wow! there are sooo many colors.
Wowsers, these guys are colour central! Not sure if the formula sounds like it would work for me (I have sensitive eyes that weep at the slightest tug!) but thanks for the review anyway. : ] <3
amazing idea. you really have the one up on every magazine out there. you ladies are TRULY amazing. now if i didnt live in canada, i would really be jumping for joy. sadly, im not one of your stops. have an amazing trip
Never heard of them before, but I love the look of Nina and Edna *__*
I like their site. Simple. They only have 4 stores in USA buuuu....
I have not come across this brand before. Their products are probably too expensive for me. At $17 for an eye pencil, I'd expect no tugs on my eye when applying and no sharpening required. Yes, I am pretty lazy when it comes to sharpening anything. The range does seem impressive. I guess it's something that I need to test in a store before I can decide whether it's worth it.
I've walked past their store in Gothenburg a couple of times, but never stopped by. Perhaps I should! And for us Swedes, it is apparently possible to order online through calling a number, yay! Thank you for the review. :)
I heard of Face stockholm but have not tried anything from them. I only own 3 pencil eyeliners -- one white, one silver and one brown. If I want other colors, I would use my eye-shadows. so I never see the need of buying too many eyeliners.. and I hate the skin-tugging from using eye liners... they are always soft on the back on my hands, but nothing comes out when applied on my eyes!
I've been to stores in Stockholm a few times. They probably have more than 5 stores in Stockholm. I've tried a few things in store, but I haven't bought anything. I'll be in Stockholm next week. I'll try to go to one of the stores and check out their range. I think I have to give FACE Stockholm a new chance to impress me :)
Molly doesn't appeal to me, but the company sounds great. I'll have to check them out some time :)
Lily - Mineral makeup Junkie!!!
woah! loads of colours!!! $17 for an eyeliner though-bit too much in my opinion! :/
The colors are so diverse and gorgeous, but the price! Bummer!
Never heard of it before, but I love the look their stuff. Especially the galaxy glitters, you could have so much fun with those!
thanks for introducing me to this brand. im in a little bit of an eyeliner phase. off to visit their site to see if they have any bold colors i can lust after!

Loving the selection of colors, especially Disa and Frida. I've only used black eyeliner, so it would be fun to experiment with different colors (aside from black & brown). Like others have pointed out, $17 is a bit steep.
I love that picture:) But I've never heard of the brand before!
I didn't know this company still existed. I'm positive I used this brand a few times decades ago. When it comes to eyeliner I like a softer texture, because every time a pencil tugs on my eyelid I'm thinking: "Oh no, this is how wrinkles are made!" So for that reason I probably won't try this brand. Otherwise, I'm really drawn to the colors and the price is reasonable for an eyeliner. I pay around that much for my UD liners, but they glide on beautifully.
I would never pay $17 for an eye pencil. I use a variety of different drugstore brands with great success, and I recently discovered Avon Glimmersticks. You can get them very cheaply on Ebay, and they just GLIDE right over your eye, no tugging whatsoever! And they are self-sharpening and very pigmented. Since eye pencils last me such a long time, I'm not really tempted to branch out and try other brands.

I'm quite fond of my Urban Decay liners and don't think I would want anything any harder.
I don't like hard pencils, but they have a lot of interesting products on the web. Thanks for the review.
it's alright, the burgundy in the picture kinda throws me off :\ i don't think i can pull off many colors.
A little pricey for me.
This company is the favorite of many a makeup artist for their beautiful colors and really high-quality products!I'm using my pencil in "Frida" a gorgeous deep blue that somehow makes by brown eyes POP! I rather like that it's not so soft as many other pencils are because it doesn't smudge and lasts a long time!I have heard great things about their foundation and am checking out all the site has to offer, haven't seen it in a reatail location near me but I'me very interested in the line!
I have never heard of this company before....hmmph! Unfortunately i never use pencil liners...i have liquid, cake, and gels :)I will def keep looking at it and hopefully next time i head to NYC i will look into their store :)
i wouldn't be able to afford them but i love their wide selection of colors. I just fine with my .99cent ones though!
For $17 I would want a pencil that glides on easily, I HATE to tug on my lids, I'm afraid of the wrinkles that could come as a result, but I do LOVE pencils, Perhaps someday I will check out the site, but for right now, I'll stick with my softer pencils! Thanks for the review!
I like this product.
I agree, while it sounds nice, it's not quite as "OMG" or HG as I would want if I were going to spend so much =)
Wow! They really offer an astonishing variety of colors! I never tried another color than black for eyeliner. But here it makes me really want to try something new! I've never heard of this brand before. However, the price is a little expensive for an eyeliner. One day perhaps, when I will have more money! lol
I have heard of Face Stockholm, but did not know that they were not animal tested or their dedication to the environment. For 17 I want a great pencil and I think I have found that in Urban Decay 24/7 and the Smashbox eye pencils. If your pencil isn't gliding on as smoothly as you like, hit the end with your blow dryer for a couple of seconds (the heat, not the actual blow dryer) with medium heat. It works like a charm.
I've never heard of them before but they have a huge selection of eye pencils :-O
i am not farmiliar with this makeup line, but definitely want to try it out! :D they have an incredible variety of pencils!
No way would I pay $17 for a pencil eyeliner. I am terrible with pencils, with the possible exception of UD's 24/7 pencils, which seem much softer and easier to use than these FACE Stockholm pencils. I would have to be given this for free and then fall madly in love with it to ever make a purchase. There are just too many $0.99 pencils out there (which, I realize, which may or may not work as well as the $17 kind).
wow pretty :)kinda pricey though... :D
I'm not a fan of them, never used it. But it's priceyy!
I'm not familiar with the brand and I just had a look at the website and currently they only ship to the US. Apparently they're looking at creating a new website which caters for international customers. They do have a wide range of colours but that is exactly why I use mineral eyeshadows as my liner instead! Any colour I own can become a liner. Just use a little bit of eye drops and then dip the eyeliner brush into the minerals and apply like you would a pencil. I find it easier to control than a pencil as well!
I'm on the hunt for the perfect black eyeliner. Have UD's 24/7 on the way in my AiW palette and a Lancome Kohl pencil as my 100 point gift. I've never paid $17 for ane eyeliner so I really don't know what would make it worth that much.
I looked at their colors and I have to say I love them! I would love to try Jane, Merete, Correct, and Gra! Oh if only I could!
Wow, the colors look really great! I don't know how good I'd be at working the brightly colored eyeliner, though.
I love the variety of colors.
I just bought a set of 4 Jemma kidd eyeliners recently so I won't be buying any more eyeliners but thanks for the info :-)

Damn that's a lot of choices! And it's expensive! But I'm all for trying new things if you can afford it!
im sure ive heard of them before, but seeing how expensive it was i just put it out of my mind. their colors are amazing though *sigh*
I've heard of this brand before and have been attempting to find a place I can purchase it from that will ship to NZ as I haven't found it locally.
