LUSH! STRAWBERRY FEELS FOREVER AND SILKY UNDERWEAR DUSTING POWDER! YUM!
Stylemama here! I bet you ladies would be surprised at how often I think about you. You are a unique, intelligent, hilarious group of women. Words are powerful and yours really make their mark. In a nutshell, I'm grateful to Meg, the writers, and every single Meghead out there that brings truth and insight to Megsmakeup.com. I didn't want one more day to pass in 2010 without putting that out there.
On to the goods...
Sometimes the best things in life come in pairs or in this case come from LUSH. I'm excited to share two of my all time favorite, skin-loving, yummy-smelling bath products.
The first layer of YUM is a delightful massage bar aptly named Strawberry Feels Forever. Call me crazy, but I use it as a daily moisturizer. And, since I am a repeat title-holder for, Driest Skin On The Planet Lady, I can say with total confidence that this is the best defense, dare I say, cure for dry skin out there. Plus, it's all natural and filled to the brim with all the greatest ingredients. I'm talking about Shea and Cocoa Butters, Coconut and Bergamot Oils and of course fresh strawberries, just to name a few! According to LUSH, using this "Is like rolling in a field of strawberries without the sticky mess..." Yeah, that about covers it.
The trick is to use this heart shaped bar of heaven while you are still wet from your shower or bath (I know, not everyone has a bathtub, so lucky you, this is an equal opportunity bathing product.) To use, simply palm the heart shaped bar and gently rub it all over your entire body from the neck down. It's magnificent at soothing razor burn and calming irritants like KP. In fact, my winter skin looks like tropical summer skin, minus the fake tan. Trust me, you are going to want this delightful scent attached to every square inch of your hot bod, pits and all. Fear not, this strawberry isn't sickly sweet and doesn't smell like something out of a cartoon. It's pure and sweet all at the same time. Not that I have yet, but you can also use this in place of massage oil. This requires heating it prior to application. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I'm sure you can let your imaginations wander, I bet there are lots of places you can come up with to generate some serious heat. ;)
The second layer of my heavenly concoction has even been featured in a past review, it's our beloved Silky Underwear Dusting Powder. (I know that got Sweetassgal's attention!) LUSH has perfected their dusting powder by making it smell incredible without sacrificing any moisturizing or traditional dusting powder qualities. It's made with things like Jasmine Absolute, Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Vetivert Oil, and of course Corn Starch.
For practical purposes, I keep my powder in a larger container to address spillage and then apply it with a large powder make up brush. Because it's a dusting powder, it really does help combat perspiration. After all, sweat is pretty much a deal-breaker when it comes to staying sweetly scented. Like the massage bar, it's also great at keeping razor burn away. Somehow, something magical (probably chemical) happens when you dust this powder over a nice layer of Strawberry Feels Forever...
I'm completely hooked! Both products work effortlessly at achieving the same goal: soft, smooth, dry, deliciously scented skin! In fact, I'm so afraid of running out that I always order two at a time. Going without is not an option, neither is that nasty "out of stock" icon.
I'm guessing that by the time I'm through with you my "Strawberry Underwear" concoction will be a staple in your arsenal as well. Your dry skin will be a thing of the past and you'll smell so nice that even your dirty laundry will start getting compliments. Even better, "They" have finally asked that I relinquish my title as Driest Skin On The Planet Lady. Any takers?

I'm sold on anything that is strawberry...or watermelon. i can't believe i still haven't tried lush yet! I'm too scared to try it because i fear that it may be my new addiction... one of my friend is fanatic about their products (the only thing i can't stand is the smell when i enter the shops, it's impossible for my nose to adjust to such concentrated smell.. but their products just have that "wow-factor")
My new Ebay Store: cossiepieMy blog: http://lazyscorner.blogspot.com/
Based on your article, I'll delightfully try these two products! I've always wanted to try the dusting powder!
never heard of dusting powder, they sound really interesting I'm a big fan of LUSH, i'll check it out. thx!
Stylemama, if they sold this stuff here, I'd be ordering faster than it took to get on the site. I like the idea of a bar so much more than a lotion. And the dusting powder - *snibble* how am I supposed to live without that now?

Oh Stylemama, you've hit on one of my SUPER SUPER FAVOURITE LUSH products!! I buy a LOT of LUSH - I'm a serious LUSHaholic and can be found at every local VIP night and on the official Australian forum at all hours of the day and night. ; ] SFF is my number one favourite massage bar - it usurped Amazonian (the biggest bar they made, before it was discontinued recently) as I simply cannot go past the scent. Can I recommend the Yummy Yummy shower gel to go with your massage bar? It has a similar strawberry scent (real of course, no cloying fake fruit smells at LUSH!) and it layers beautifully with the massage bar. You'll thank me. ; ]
Wooo I think I need to get my hands on this. I dont have super dry skin but I do love the scent of strawberries. Yum. As for the dusting powder - how is it supposed to be used? Do you dust your whole body with it?? *confused*Overall I am a very big fan of Lush - mostly their soaps. I'm a total sucker for the Honey I Washed the Kids scent. And the Honey Trap lip balm is to die for. It actually has white chocolate in it!! YUM. Can you tell I like honey scents? Hehe.

The dusting powder can be used any way you like - you can dust a little under your pits throughout the day, or dust it over your arms and chest before you go out - it's up to you. : ] I don't tend to buy it as it gets up my nose and causes my allergies to go a little crazy. :P
Few weeks ago I bought the Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar. I haven`t used yet but I love the smell: it`s delightful and sweet!!!
Oh gosh, I am a Lushie from way back. I've even worked for Lush! The two all-time best layering items are the Soft Couer massage bar and then dust some Candy Fluff over the top. Its AMAZING! I really dislike the smell of strawberries, so SFF is out and jasmine is terrible so Silky Underwear is another no-no to me. But Soft Couer + Candy Fluff = HEAVEN!
I was on Lush's website (how could I not go after Stylemama's delectable description?) and they have other dusting powders in scents without jasmine now. :)
we dont have any lush products in Malta but I think I had bought some Lush soap around 7 years ago from Italy, im not sure if they were lush or not but I remember they were really nice and smelt lovely

LUSH cannot do anything wrong. They could take over the world. And if I could get myself to use a dusting powder I would try Silky Underwear. I just equate powder with drying.
Omg yum strawberry :3
i havent layered anything in that store. someone did a demo of a layering with the lotion bars and the powder but i wasnt sure if poweder was super necessary. i like the strawberry feels forever alone.

I like dusting powders when I'm in a hurry and cannot let products dry properly before putting on my clothes. Though, I bought the coconut one a year ago and still have half a jar because for me, dusting powders and lotions really mostly are a thing of the summer to help my skin take the heat and sun. I do have a problem with most of Lush products. They work great (Ambrosia, a shaving cream, really gives the silkiest legs when used as an after shave lotion) but usually the scents are just too much for me. I prefer smelling of my perfume (the Olive Branch, also from Lush) and not of my lotion. Lotion, soap, dusting powders...for me they are tools to beautiful, well behaved skin and not something I put on for scent. With that said, Lush do have a lot of very nice scents. It is just hard finding products and scents that do not become overpowering when paired together.
I haven't bought Lush products for ages...this sounds like a good reason to start up again!
Silky Underwear is one of my absolute faves. Another LUSH thing that I loved, and I think they stopped making it, was a perfume called Ikon. If I'm wrong, somebody tell me! I was never able to find a replacement for it.
Yum I love strawberries and strawberry scents! I HAVE to get myself to Lush store someday, I have never seen one and I don't know if there is one anywhere near me, but if I find one, I am so going to check out EVERYTHING in it!

Strawberry is such a great scent.
Ooh, I have to try both of these! Thanks Stylemama for the great review. :)
Oh yeah Lush was over in Scotland when I lived there, i am sure there is one here in FL too, but I havent looked. I liked their products when i tried them, had a bath bomb nd something else.. but i never went back. A youtube guru - MakeupByTiffanyD love love loves them, and makes me feel like going out to try em again. She has some great reviews.
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
Hey!!! I don't think your crazy!! I do the same thing with my Lush Heavenilli massage bar!! I use it as a moisturizer cause its so divine. I have their Candy Fluff dusting powder, I haven't tried that over the heavenilli but I think it sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the tip.
ohh that sounds awesome! I havn't tried the strawberry from them but i am a fan of Lush!!! I really wanna check this out now!
I've never been to Lush, but day by day, I grow more and more convinced that I need to get there immediately.
I want to try this really bad! It sounds incredible! I really do love strawberries =)
I've never tried any LUSH bath products, I only used their mint mask a few years ago. I can smell the juicy strawberry by just reading your review!!! :)
Kittymeow84, traditionally, I believe dusting powders were used as an integral step in grooming because baths weren't necessarily part of a daily routine. But now, many people use them for lots different reasons. You can dust them anywhere you want to stay smooth and dry, or any place you want that extra layer of scent, i.e. typical pulse points. SU, happens to be very moisturizing so you'll notice extra softness too! IMO, there really aren't rules, have fun with it, you'll discover what works best for you. You can even dust some on your sheets to give them a nice smooth feel and a super boost of this sexy scent! And, Honey, I can tell you love your honey...... ;)
Stylemama, Thank you for this great review! Being budget conscious and stretching every penny are super important to me and Meg's is pivotal in making decisions when I need to replace my everyday must-haves. SFF seems like just the thing I've been looking for to solve my winter dryness and yummy scented to boot!
I love Lush but I don't have many of their products because I don't like very close to a store and I need to "try before I buy." I'll be in the area of one in a couple weeks when I visit Boston, though, and i might go a little crazy!
I can't even express how much I love Lush. I'm going to place an order now!

This sounds great! I'm a fan of Lush too. I'll have to try this. Thanks!
Gracie
I so wish that we had a Lush nearby, I don't know if there is even one in my state!! I like to try before I buy as well, so I've been reluctant to purchase any on-line, but with this review it sounds like this may be the two to try!!I have over taken your spot as the most dry skinned alligator legged creature out there!! Perhaps this would help!Great review!! I can smell it here!
I am completely inlove with yummy scents will definitely try this one!! =)
I have been so afraid to try Lush..not because I am worried I won't like their products, but because I am worried that I will LOVE their products. I am hopping over to check out the site...again!

we don't have a Lush in the city I live in but there's one (or maybe more than one..?) in Helsinki and I've been thinking about having to go there soon again. That massage bar sounds great, I thought there would be no point for me to get a massage bar since I don't really have anyone to give me massages or vice versa, but if you say you use it as a body moisturiser! That sounds great. Plus I'm super lazy so using it right after the shower sounds pretty efficient and fast. Have to keep that in mind next time I go there. And hopefully they have it for sale there :)
I adore Lush! It is one of my favorite beauty stores. No, it IS my favorite! I actually first shopped there is Switzerland the summer after 7th grade, and I LOVED it right away! I was so sad I couldn't find it anywhere near by California home - but they just built one when they expanded the local mall! YES! I really love their products, but I haven't bought any in awhile. Maybe I need to start hinting this for a Vday present.... (:

thanks for the review. Iam going to LUSH next week. I'll have a look at these. I'll probably end up buying something :)
cool! i have dry skin on my face.. so i wonder if it would work as well...
I have never been to LUSH but, I am going to have to look one up in my travels. However, if anyone has any secret recipes . . . I am very interested !
Also a serious LUSHIE and both products are as awesome as our SM says! All of their massage bars are amazing..."Glitterbug" is always in reach as well for me,LOL! Thanks for the great review and keep those strawberries coming!
Oh Style Mama... you've done it again! Your description of the Strawberry Feels Forever made the fragrance come right through my laptop! I've not used that yet, although I do like LUSH products. I always have the Silky Underwear powder on hand because I L-O-V-E it. Especially in summer... it helps me avoid having those little moist areas (like under the "girls", in between the thighs, behind the knees, etc.). Years ago, most women used dusting powder after their baths/showers. I know my Mom and Grandmother both were confirmed fans. And so was I. Every fragrance line included a dusting powder (talc). Somewhere along the line, this went out of fashion. I'm in favor of a comeback. But in the meantime, get yourself to LUSH and get you some of your very own Silky Underwear!
Carole
Also - BTW, if you don't know if there's a LUSH store nearby, check the website. In my area, we don't have a store BUT there's an "inside the store" section in my Macy's.

Yummmm sounds amazing! LUSH is too pricey for me unfortunately, but oh that sounds good!
sounds good enough to eat
I like lush stuff. THat sounds amazing though!
I love anything from lush i cant wait to try the dusting powder!!
sounds cool!
I love Lush. Everything I've used from their smells so yummy.
I loooove anything strawberry, so I think I might have to try this. <3 I have never tried any Lush products...hmm...
I love the strawberry feels forever massage bar, though I have to limit my Lush purchases, because they can get pretty pricey. I've never tried the silky underwear dusting powder, but I probably won't buy it because I'm kind of embarrassed by the name of it. It's not that I don't like the word "underwear"...it's just that I don't want someone to see "...underwear dusting powder" on my vanity and think it's for some kind of feminine problem. If they renamed it, I may consider.
