AURA CACIA AROMATHERAPY BODY CREAM! SMELL HOW GOOD IT IS FOR YOU!
Sweetassgal here wishing everyone a WONDERFUL Groundhog's day! Silly holiday I know but I've always loved that Bill Murray movie and often think... what kind of day would I like to live over and over again? It's easy... this past Saturday with my Sweetassguy.
For those of you who live in a cave in Sac town (and those of you who just plain don't live here) we have a small but infamous burger joint known as the "Squeeze Inn". For over 30 years now residents near and far have been making the trek to this tiny little haven of burger perfection to "squeeze in" to one of their 12... you heard me... 12 stools that line the counter of this itty-bitty-booty-committee eatery. Big or little booty... that's all the real estate you get to belly up to the best burger around.
Featured on the Food Network, in Guy Fieri's new Diner book and in many issues of Sacramento's "Best of" the Squeeze Inn is an institution that is being squeezed OUT of their current small and not easily handicapped accessible location to move to a larger place in just one week. Knowing this we took the jaunt from West Roseville to South Sac (no easy drive I'll say) so I could experience “The Squeeze” in all of its original glory. We got there early to avoid the crowd and I'm glad we did because within minutes of me ordering my first "Squeeze with Cheese" people began descending en masse and the wait for the perfect cheese busting burger was building to its frenzied finale.
There is was before me... a 1/3 pound all beef patty covered in just about as much cheese melted and fried to a crispy cheese ring (or cheese skirt as they call it) all around my burger! I had to break off sheets of the cheese, fold them in half and eat like a quesadilla with no tortilla just to get to my burger. Then the BURGER! Oh good LORD the burger. It couldn't get any better than this. But I was in for one more surprise.
We sat enjoying our burgers and defending our place at the bar against the throngs of hungry Squeeze-heads waiting when the coolest thing happened. Some kids who had been there for quite a while to get three stools together suddenly rose and gave their hard earned spots to a few Army soldiers who had just arrived for lunch. They did so without hesitation and with obvious love and pride in their hearts. It was a truly beautiful act of selflessness and honor to those who fight for our country and I was deeply touched to have witnessed it. To those bitter adults who think the youth of our nation has no sense of good manners, patriotism or respect I say look again. Maybe it was just seats at a burger joint but these kids have shown me our American spirit is alive and well... in ALL generations. Keep it up kids... I believe in you!
We topped off our CRAZY good burger fest with a showing of Avatar 3-D (which I LOVED but won't bother you about... we KNOW, we KNOW... its a great film) some light shopping for a new mattress (spent flopping around on various beds like an out of water tuna) culminating in a toasty fire and a cuddle down on the couch with my latest and greatest body cream from Meg's to pamper myself. All and all pretty much a perfect day to relive ala' Groundhog's Day. Punxsutawney Phil would be pea green with envy!
Aura Cacia's Aromatherapy Ginger/Mint Body Cream has been my scent obsession every night since I received it. Perfect for my scent-sibilities it's just heaven to me. The Ginger is aromatic and soothing, the mint invigorating and delicious. I just LOVE it and more than even applying it I find myself opening the generous sized jar just to take a huge whiff. I guess that's the point of aromatherapy right? It's available in lavender and patchouli/sweet orange as well so we'll have to hear from other reviewers to see how they liked them. I for one, am nuts for the scent and the consistency of this cream. Sometimes I like a SUPER heavy and thick cream, like the one's I use on my feet to go to bed in and in that case I like a heady and deep scent. But this light and non-greasy cream, that I'm keeping downstairs for application whenever my little heart desires, does the trick for every day because I can apply and go about my day without having slippery hands to work with. It's just SO refreshing and energizing!
I've reviewed Aura Cacia's Sweet Almond Oil before so I'm obviously already a fan because that stuff is just ALL around wonderful in so many ways. This product simply adds to my love of Aura Cacia's quality ingredients and quality company philosophies. Using only the highest caliber of 100% pure of essential oils, sustainable sources, ingredients that are natural and organic and that avoid synthetics to the highest extent possible, you can be sure to get what you pay for and know what it is you really are getting. Aura Cacia has full ingredients disclosure, strives for strict environmental practices and never, ever tests on animals!
Enjoying a good cream is like enjoying a good wine. Find one that tickles your senses, promotes the perfect mood, and of course leaves you feeling just a little bit decadent and you've got a winner. Aura Cacia's Ginger/Mint had me at first whiff and like that glass of wine was just the perfect ending to my perfect almost Groundhog Day! GLAM ON!!
Which ones of the Aura Cacia products have you ladies used?

I live about 150 miles from Sac and I want a squeeze inn burger!!! I wonder if I can get my man, B13 to drive me North to get one, HHHMMMMMMMMMM, I bet I can get him to do it! I haven't tried Aura Cacia yet but I will. I will let u know what I think after,
Interesting, but after looking at the site there doesn't really seem to be a scent that jumps out at me as being interesting. It would have been nicer to have a bit more information on their actual site. Pity, things like that kinda put me off buying something.
... sanity is relative, insanity is quantum mechanics ...
Oh this sounds amazing. I love the smell of mint and ginger. Any strong smelling product. Yum!

Mmmmm, it all sounds good! Reading about Squeeze Inn's burger (I'll have to check it out the next time I make a trip there) made me miss In-N-Out burgers. YUMMY!

i have not tried their products, i can't live without body creams!
I love the fact it's not tested on animals! I'm a big humanitarian so this is a great plus. I also love the mint smell, I think it would be a good product to invest in.

First, I'm on a diet right now. So, you know, now I'm really dying for a cheeseburger. But I don't think I've ever had one that even comes close to your description so I can let that go for now. Second, it makes me so happy to hear about those kids giving up their seats to soldiers. I remember being in the airport in Las Vegas shortly after 9/11, and the lines were hours long, people had nowhere to sit, everyone was getting searched or having their bags searched, people were miserable and nasty, and when I finally got over to my gate to wait for my flight, all the seats were taken, of course. I noticed an elderly man on a walker standing, apparently no one offered him their seat, even though those seated included a lot of people much younger than he was. A man offered me his seat, and I thanked him and offered it to the elderly man, which didn't thrill the guy who offered it to me. I convinced him to sit down, and helped him get his walker arranged in front of him because I could tell he would have a hard time getting back up again, he wasn't in very good shape, and her was in his 80's. About half an hour later, I was standing with the man who had given up his seat, he was telling me how he worked for a company who had offices in the WTC, and he knew people who had died, when I noticed the elderly gentleman struggling to his feet. I thought he must have to use the restroom, and while I was debating if it would be more awkward for him if I offered to help him stand up, or if I should just pretend I hadn't seen his struggle, he finally got himself on his feet and started clapping, like he was applauding something. My first thought was that he hadn't seemed mentall inpaired when I was talking to him, but then the man next to me took my arm and indicated a group of maybe 8 or 10 soldiers who had just walked into our view, on their way to their flight. He was giving them a standing ovation. So a few others started clapping, and standing up, and by the time they got to where we were, all of us except for one or two people were standing and applauding them. It was such a wake-up call for all of us who were complaining about the wait, the inconvenience, the lack of seats, etc. It absolutley brough tears to my eyes. Third, I love aromatherapy, I will try this cream, I really believe in the power of scents to change your mood, give you energy, help you sleep, and I prefer cream to lotion any day, it's much more moisturizing.
ive never tried any of there products.. BUT i really really really want a cheese burger!!! hehehee
I am truly a throw back to an earlier era! I've not tried their products, but as an "oldie" I cannot resist patchouli!! Nothings smells hippie, better than that! It is a scent that I just can't get over! I love it, I love it in candles, body wash, and now a body cream? I may have to order this, and see if the patchouli is strong enough for me to enjoy!Sounds like you had a perfect day!!
I haven't tried the products, but they are available at Whole Foods and I am a crazy impulse shopper when I go to WF so it is very possible the body cream will find its way into my basket. I don't love ginger, but I would like to try the lavender and sweet orange varieties.
I also have not tried their products yet! I am so mad that there is not a whole foods near me bc they seem to carry so many good products. I will have to check my local health food store (big bear) and see if they may carry it so i can give the scent a check. This scent does not sound like my typical scent so i would def want to give it the sniff check....:)
Yum! Mint! I love it already. I have tried some of these products for my toddler, and it's time Mommy had some fun too. Friday's pay day and I know what I'm going to order!
I haven't ever tried any of their products but this sounds nice. I will have to take a look at their website! Thanks for the review!
I haven't tried any of their products, but I will if I ever get the chance! Sounds great!
I haven't tried any of their products yet, but my feet are in need of a cream or lotion to get back into spring shape! My regular lotion paired with socks just isn't cutting it!
Ginger/mint sounds amazing! Two of my favorite herbals teas are ginger and mint, and they're very de-stressing. I like the high-quality ingredients and no animal testing, too.
This is one of the best organic lines around. Men seem to like the zing of ginger and this option is less costly than Jo Malone's Nutmeg and Ginger. Next time I am at Whole Foods this goes in the cart.
i haven't tried any, but sounds great
Love this cream as well! I have the same scent and believe me,it's been a real "nice to have around" product this last cold and dreary week as it really DOES seem to brighten my spirits as well as beautifully smooth my skin! Great company and great review! I gained weight just reading about the fabulous burger and LOVE that little places like this aka "Americana" still make our heart sing! I am so glad y'all had a special day and got to enjoy it!It also does my heart good when people "care": San Antonio has SUCH a big military contingency and I LOVE when everyone applauds the soldiers coming home! They are what is "good in us all, just like a great burger and some fabulous time with a loved one!
Iève never tried this product, but your review was good and I think it sounds great!
I got this in the patchouli/sweet orange scent. After my first use, my two girls could not get enough of me. It was so cute, they kept coming up to me grabbing a quick hug and a whiff, saying, "How come you smell so good mom?!?" I like to think I smell nice everyday but apparently this just hit the spot for them! I liked it too, the citrus scent has serious staying power and it's affordable. It's not super thick and not going to replace my cream for winter skin but definitely perfect for summer. I also liked that it absorbs quickly and comes in a hefty jar. Great post Sweetassgal, it's so encouraging to hear stories like yours and the others that were posted like it. Very encouraging......
Looks good!
I like the aromatherapy lemon extract by this brand. I usually add some drops to my hot bath for a pick me up. The company makes great stuff.
awwee man that burger sounds awesome!!!! I'm sitting here eating spaghetti and now i'm like ..YUCK! lol. I havn't heard of any of those products before but they sound pretty interesting to me!
I have their body oils- really like this brand! Can't wait to check this out! :)

That burger sounds delicious, and the story about the kids giving up their seats to the soldiers is really touching. Congrats to their parents for raising such respectful kids, and congrats to the kids themselves for knowing the right thing to do. That's really impressive! I haven't tried anything by Aura Cacia, but I'd be interested to try a ginger aromatherapy product. I get really bad motion sickness when I travel, and ginger is supposed to help with nausea. I carry candied ginger in a tin, ginger gum, and ginger ale...I don't know if it would work at all to smell the ginger instead of consuming it, but it probably couldn't hurt!
ive gotten the body cream in lavender and must say it is pretty amazing! :D not bad for moisturizing either!
I think I have every one of Aura Cacia's essential oils. I also use their sweet almond oil and of course I have been using this body cream forever. When Long's Drug Store sold out to Walgreens they had all the Aura Cacia's products for under $1. Later on, when it was near the end, they remaining items went for 10 cents. I bought them all, whether I needed them or not. Now it hurts to pay full price. I love their products and that they don't test on animals and are pretty darn natural. This product works, it is a great price and a must buy.
Oh SAG! Your entire description of that burger had me salivating big time! That burger sounds like heaven and I love cheeseburgers especially! I wish we had a Squeeze Inn here - I think you and your lovely husband should open a franchise in Minnesota! "Cheese skirt" oh honey...I wish I was there! I am trying out the Patchouli/Sweet Orange body cream! The fragrance combinations this company puts together are quite unusual! The cream is very nice - it seems to melt into your skin. It's definitely an aromatherapy product!! The Patchouli/Sweet Orange says "love, peace & happiness" on the jar. On the first day that I received this, I slathered myself from head to toe with the delicious cream. I came out of the bathroom and said "What do you think?" to my husband. He said "Lemon Pledge.", and I said "What???" He replied, "You remind me of my mom because you smell like Lemon Pledge which she always used to dust!". Hmmmmm, well, I guess if he liked his mom, that was an ok comment to make. He narrowed it down to the fact that I smell really citrissy to him. I think the cream is really nice to use, but, I would like it more if it was just sweet orange without the Patchouli. I don't personally care for the fragrance on me. I DO however, love the texture of the cream and the way it melts into my skin.

I've never tried this, but I would like to try the lavender one. I ldo prefer body creams especially during winter time.
Mm, patchouli/sweet orange sounds delectable! I love the sound of anything that involves aromatherapy, but the fact that you don't have any greasiness afterwards is the best part of your description. Great review! And how good is Avatar?! :D
i havent tried any of their products =( the lavendar sounds lovely though.
the mint and ginger combination sounds terrific and especially great for hotter days that I am sure are ahead of us! i am quite indifferent towards burgers (do not eat them at all) but i love small local places that offer fresh great food too!
The scent combinations sounds great, and I love body butters especially during the winter. Though, for my moisturising purposes I've learnt that an after shower, unscented oil works the best both for my skin and my wallet. The main reason is that body creams usually are rather strongly scented, and when used all over the body (as I need to in the winter) the scent just becomes overpowering even if it is a mild one, and prevents me from wearing my perfumes. So, yay for body butters but really I do wish more companies would realise that unscented products that work are the best except for shower gels. :)
I have never tried their products either. I am not sure I would like the mint scent.
I love Aura Cacia's oils - their philosopy and effectiveness. And I'm so happy that Whole Foods carries them. I haven't tried the cream yet, but SAG has convinced me. Since I can't get the burger from Squeeze Inn, I'll have to settle for the ginger body cream!Erica, your story about the old man and the soldiers at the airport brought tears to my eyes.

the sweet orange sounds yummy. i love a thick body creme for night time, but this sounds good for the day!
Seems to be interesting.
I love mint smell, but I have never had something that smells like ginger. It sounds like a really rich and lovely smell.
Let's all enjoy the Summer sunshine!
Oh, my mother NEEDS this... her and her ginger =) Thank you for the story, too!
I haven't tried any of their products. But you telling me about that amazing burger made me hungry :)
can't say i've tried this stuff, but i love minty smelling stuff (:
This body cream sounded so nice I had to head over to the site right away and check them out. I have to say the prices are great. It's only $12 for an 8oz jar. I just paid $12 for a 2oz jar from Klean? (That's not spelled right). I do love that body cream so don't get me wrong but now I will have to order from this company too. I only wish they had more fragrance options.

I love anything creamy and aromatherapy-y so this product sounds right up my alley!
