CLASSIFIED COSMETICS! AERO MINERAL HYDRATING MINERAL SHIMMER IN GOLDEN!

Mon, 11/23/2009 - 4:54pm
  • Made With Heart & Soul
  • Body

shimmerStylemama here! Did you know that studies show that a woman's appearance becomes more beautiful and alluring during times of ovulation?  We also release a more desirable, come-hither pheromone during this phase of our cycle.  Yep, it's true.  It's all part of our Grand Design, something to do with hormones and the propagation of our species.

I think I've noticed this in my own cycle, have you?  You know those days when you just look a little brighter, a little better without having changed anything in your beauty routine.  I don't know about you but I don't like having to wait around for my cycle to produce that special natural glow.  I'd much rather find a way to manufacture it on my own.... without looking manufactured of course!

Enter Classified Cosmetics affordable luxury line:  Aero Minerale.  I see it as affordable perfection from the Aerobrush experts.  Meg sent me the Hydrating Mineral Shimmer in golden and it really surprised me.  (Sometimes, I think she knows my beauty needs better than I do!)  Because I have issues with texture and tone, shimmer has always been less friend, more foe.  I normally only use it from the neck down, but not anymore!

For my first application, I followed the instructions and held the can ten inches from my face, closed my eyes and employed small zig zagging motions.  Unfortunately, this approach didn't do much for me.  (I can only do a few things well with my eyes closed and this isn't one of them.)  Aha!  Once I opened my eyes and chose a different means of application the results were stunning.

I get the best results when I spray small amounts onto my Beauty Blender sponge and dab it onto the tops of my cheekbones and the tip of my chin.  I also like to spray some onto my favorite concealer brush and apply the tiniest bit to the inner corners of my eyes and above and below the brow bone.  Lastly, I shimmy that can all over my shoulders and decollete, no brush, sponge, or coordination required for that last part. Kiss

Imagine my surprise when I realized that it's much more than just a pretty highlighter, it's also a fantastic concealer for hyper pigmentation!  I have bits of light brown near my temples and here, there, and everywhere.  I never realized how much those light brown spots were causing my eye area to appear closed off and tired.  It's the classic case of, "Oh yeah, that's what I used to look like before I had children!"  I don't obsess about this.  The discoloration came with pregnancy and never left.  I don't even try very hard to conceal it because my experience has been the more you try to cover it, the more it stands out.  Kind of like those bright orange detour signs that blink:  Look Here...... Look Here..... Look Here.  Lucky for me and my fellow spotted beauties, I've found something that naturally averts the eye away from the brown, while mimicking a much more even tone.  Even though I was worn out from lack of sleep and Stylepapa's birthday party prep, I looked bright eyed and wide awake.

The night of the party, this "sophisticated shimmer" also complimented my left shoulder that kept peeking out from beneath my sweater.  I love those loose, sexy sweaters that hang gently off just the one side, don't you?  To me, one glistening bare shoulder can be just as bewitching as a face full of cleavage.

The Hydrating Mineral Shimmer comes in two shades, golden and girlie.  Golden is a neutral, champagne color while girlie is described as a fresh pink glow.  Fortunately, this versatile product is not just for the special occasions in your life.  You can definitely wear this to the office and a little goes a long way.  Whether yours is a heavy-handed approach or not, the $14.99 price point means we can all sparkle.  NICE.

So, how do you glow from below without the benefit of a hormonal shift?  Who else loves Aero Minerale as much as I do?

Check it out here!

i've heard of the ovulation theory, unfortunately for me during and before menstruation i'm cranky as hell lol, some days i don't even bother pampering my face during that time of the month.this sounds like a great product for a night out, or just for a nice glow!

I've actually heard about the ovulation glow and the pheromones thing, and I'm not sure if I can tell if I experience that because I hate that time of month!  I'm usually breaking out or just plain PMSing.I love highlights of any sort, and combo products just make me smile!  It's great that this acts as a concealer too.

I received this in my package from Meg in the shade Girlie. Wow, I definitely need to go back and try some different application methods. The first time I did it following the directions, it was sort of a disaster. I sprayed it EVERYWHERE and yes, the color is nice, but it didn't look good the way I put it on. I also noticed that it really made my tiny blonde facial hairs really show up, which I didn't like at all. I actually haven't tried it again since that first time. Tomorrow though, I'm going to try it again, this time by spraying it on a small makeup sponge first, then applying lightly. The only thing I don't like about it though is it has Parabens in it, which are more and more becoming a cause for concern to me. Also, I think the little spray bottle is beautiful! So shiny and looks like it cost a lot more than it really does. :)

I got this in the "girlie" shade.  I would really love to try it in the "golden" shade because it may fit my skin tone better.  I think this product really adds that extra "WOW" for those special occasions.  Personally, I would not use a product like for any  everyday.

I agree with Hao--it's pretty but not for everyday.I also tried out this product in "Girlie," which is an iridescent pink sheen. Applied on bare skin, it doesn't seem to do a whole lot. I applied some powder foundation and then applied a bit more spray on top. It drew a bit of attention to the fine hairs on my face (which I'd never noticed before!) A quick sweep of my face brush eliminated that problem. It's a nice product, and adds a subtle sheen, but personally, I'd rather use a pressed powder highlighter.

I can't say if my skin looks any different during ovulation. All I know is the "my period is coming and I am breaking out like crazy" phase...yuck!I recieved the Areo Mineral spray in "girlie" from Meg. I would definatly say it was trial and error for me. The first thing I did was to spray a glob of it on my chest...not on purpose (of course). I then decided to just spray it in my hand and work with it from there. That has been a better method for me. "Girlie" is a shimmery pink but I would say it's not like a ton of glitter, but a bit of tiny glitter and an opal like shimmery quality. It really gives your skin a fantastic glow. I used it on my cheeks and my eyes (and there was still that glob of it on my chest that I smoothed around with my hand). It is really flattering. I don't think the pink is really my color because I have a lot of redness in my skin, but I am still playing with it to see what works. Also, you should know that it does not come off easy. In other words, you can wear in on your shoulders and be assured that it isn't going to rub off in 20 minutes. I worked out for an hour with this stuff on and it didn't budge. I was able to get it off with some soap and water so no worries.

Meg sent this to me in Girlie. I'm stil experimenting with application but the shimmery glow is amazing! So far I have held 10 inches and sprayed. And I find I get a better result if I buff it in so it doesnt look as though its just sitting on my skin.I have also heard you can spray it on any brush and buff it in also. Im going to try that next and see how it comes out!  But overall amazing!  I would like to try the primer! I checked out their website. A Spray on flawless primer sounds great!

I don't know about the ovulation theory, at that stage, I'm usually busy screaming at my employees and eating everything in sight. However,  your review was a really good read, and it reminded me that I had this brand on my list of things I've read about here and want to try. I've discovered dozens of new products that way, so I'm going to order some and give it a try. Thanks for the application tips, by the way!

I agree with Stylemom about using a sponge to put it on.  I could not get it right spraying, probably because I my eyes were closed.  I liked the product, to bad the golden color was too dark for me.  So, I use it just as a shimmer, which is what it really is.  I think this is wonderful and for the price, give it a try.  If you can, be sure to check the color if you are very fair. I got my 24 year old niece this as a birthday present and she said to tell everyone at Meg's that this is the best, absolutely the best she ever tried.

I've heard about the ovulation theory too and I have noticed I seem to look different in some way around ovulation, for some reason my makeup looks better around this time maybe that's due to less oil production or something !!! I use champagne form EDM for my shimmer :-)

Stylemama!  How funny are you? "To me, one glistening bare shoulder can be just as bewitching as a face full of cleavage."  I wish I could carry off those bare shoulder sweaters. That totally brought me back to memories of Flashdance where Jennifer Beals always had her sweatshirts hanging off her sexy dancing shoulders!  As to the 'face full of cleavage' - what man wouldn't absolutely love that sentence and the visual it brings!I received the Aero Minerale makeup mist in golden from Meg too!  At first my only thought was if I spray this, it's going to land on everything in the room so I was afraid - very afraid - to even try it!  I got over my fear and went into the bathroom - easier to mop up areas rather than having it land on my bedspread etc.  Well - it's not like it sprays 50 feet across the room - and I learned with practice to just  give the lightest of sprays once or twice onto my face.  At first I thought - uh uh - not for me.  But then the next day I tried it again and after spraying I rubbed it gently - more like glided it - all over my face until it pretty much sunk in and left me with a radiant glow.  I put my regular makeup (Two Faced Magic Wand in New York Light) on over that and WOW - I loved the results! The Aero Minierale makeup mist reminded me hugely of something I already use under my makeup and that is Olay Definity Color Recapture.  The Olay gives me that same radiant extra glow under my makeup and gives a sheer light coverage over dark spots and red patches.I'd have to say I like the Aero Minerale makeup mist even more than my trusted and true Olay Definity color recapture and THAT is quite a testimonial from me because up to this point I hadn't found anything I like better to give me that extra radiant glow!

I've honestly never noticed if I look better during TTOTM. I always feel like crap and think I look it during that time, and I tend to not linger in front of mirrors. My skin is usually a hot mess as well, so I definitely don't fall into the category of women who look more beautiful at that time. I've noticed people mentioning getting this product from Meg and am pretty intrigued. I also have problems with skin tone and texture, and love anything that'll give me a gorgeous glow without looking stripperish. And I've been dying to get some new oversized shoulder-baring sweaters this season! I have a few that are off both shoulders, but I really love the look of one bare shoulder peeking out. Definitely sexy without being skanky.

We talked about the ovulation theory in my animal behaviour class.  Apparently exotic dancers make more in tips when they are ovulating, and those on the pill on average make less since they don't go through the same hormonal cycle.  I don't think I have noticed a difference, but we were shown in class pictures of the same woman ovulating and not ovulating and most people would pick the ovulating one as more attractive.  Weird.  I like to add Champagne from EDM as a highlight.  It brings a very pretty glow to the face, similar to what it sounds like this product does.  I think the spraying it at my face wouldn't work for me, but sounds like it applies nicely with a sponge.  Would a regular wedge sponge work?  I don't have a beauty blender.

Stylemama, I sure have noticed my cycle's effects on my sense of sexiness and beauty.  I can have up to three or four killer days every month, usually around the point of ovulation, where it seems I can do no wrong!  I wear the same things I always do, but I end up getting whistled and complimented more than usual!  This product sounds amazing - I really love the idea of something that can highlight the chest and shoulders, I also find some sexy shoulder very very attractive.

OH StyleMama - your review was great, funny and educational!   I'm a huge fan of Aero Minerale's foundation and bronzer, but haven't used the primer or shimmer yet.  I've got plenty of alternate primer things (thanks Monistat and UD!) but the shimmer sounds intriguing.  I have been delighted with Aero-Minerale.  I get more compliments when I'm wearing that foundation than at any other time. I also use a sponge or beauty blender. I'm too old to have TTOTM to help with my glow so I'm going to have to get me some of the shimmer spray.  Good quality products, very reasonable prices... what's not to love?!

The only thing I notice about my ovulation cycle is the sharp ovulation pain I have! The pain is so bad that I can't stand.  My glow from within food:  bird's nest soup (lit. swallow's saliva), or hashima (i think it is ovaries, fallopian tubes or fat from a female frog, can't remember what it is) with papaya. Both are desserts that are served in good Chinese restaurants. hehe.. I hope I didn't freak anyone out... :)

I was lucky enough to have a little cute bottle of Aero Minerale mineral shimmer in Golden sent to my door by Meg!  I was so so happy to receive this in my pack, as I had been captivated by your description Stylemama!  Well, I had the same issues as you when it came to spraying straight onto the face.. it just didn't work and ended up being more white than golden!  I took a step back and re-read your write-up and took out some of my trusty concealer brushes and dabbed and brushed on my cheeks, and the inner corners of my eyes.  The result was gorgeous!  A really pretty, light shimmer that catches the light just so.  I'm so glad this stuff isn't heavy and unnatural looking - it's perfect for the Australian Summer and those long hot beach and pool days.  Thanks again girls!  ♥
