CREATE EYES WITH ATTITUDE
MissRo here writing to you from Sao Paulo, Brazil! I'm here for ten days on vacation and I'm so excited to check out this land of paradise.
Before I tell you how to get your eyes full of attitude, a little note from the fabulous Dr. Dima!
Hey Megheads,
We read your concerns about mineral shadows not being very pigmented. Cosminology’s Astro-Orbital Hues makes this “EYES WITH ATTITUDE” look easy. Dr. Dima’s Cosminology formulations are all natural minerals in a convenient pressed mineral compact. We have vibrant mineral colors with superior blend ability to achieve a flawless sexy, sultry and seductive look in just a few minutes. Bright and bold, it’s the hottest new make up trend. Express your mood and attitude with minerals made easy. -Dr. Dima
My sentiments as well! I had a chance to try the You Rock My Cosmos! Astro-Orbital Hues in AstroLight and AstroCool. I have one word for you Ladies, flawless! I mean these shadows went out like butter, lasted the whole night, and no creasing! Like I mentioned in my last post, not a fan of the loose powder mineral lines. The only brand that I have tried where the minerals were all in compacts was La Bella Donna, and it's a decent line, but I much prefer Dr. Dima's line.
I loved the Cosmic Flace Flush, because the minerals were compact, packaging is great and travel-friendly, and it gave my cheeks just the right amount of color to give me that "special" glow. With her eyeshadows, a little goes a long way, they go on silky smooth, and last.
These shadows are delicately milled and micro-fine so that they reflect light and add vibrancy to the eye. They are free of talc, fragrance and other skin irritants, which is so important, because so many cosmetics have those ingredients which can make anyones' eyes sensitive. So, for you Ladies out there that are sensitive to other eyeshadows, you can safely use these ones.
If you want to create a bit a of night time drama, I would use AstroCool, AstroWink, and AstroHeat. For a day time, natural, but sultry look use AstroMagic, AstroGleam, or AstroDelight. For your highlight and blender use AstroGlow or AstroLight.
Now, what are you waiting for? Go create some attitude!
Do you accentuate your eyes and keep your lips natural? Or is it all about bold color for the lips and natural eyes?

I love to accentuate my eyes and keep my lips natural. I think there is nothing sexier than a smokey eye and a nude lipgloss. I haven't been too succesful with bold lip color anyway but maybe someday. I love eye makeup because it seems to me the possiblities are endless.
I always play up my eyes rather than my lips. I don't like wearing lipstick, so I usually just stick to a balm or gloss, and do up my eyes a little more.

I have a ton of mineral e/s but I never reach for them because they're so messy and can be a chore to use. So a pressed form sounds like just what the Dr. (Dima) ordered!
haha very funny!

I love mineral e/s, and I love pressed. I love pressed natural mineral e/s best of all! I tend to go for one or the other- if I do a lot of eye mu I usually go for something like a clear Alba balm or my Smashbox l/g in Hipster (my fave nude). If I do pinks and purples on my eyes (which is almost always), I go for a light pink gloss. I'm not really a l/s chick, I prefer colored glosses. If I'm wearing a really pigmented gloss I tend to just do a light wash of color all over the lids and a liner (top and bottom).
I tend to focus on my eyes cause I'm constantly licking my lips or eating/drinking and lipstick tends to fade off too quick. Plus my eyes are my better asset so I play them up!

yeah me too, i love to accentuate my eyes rather than my lips. cos i have teeny tiny lips. I like glosses etc though. So excited!!! i just got a gift from meg today!!! and it was some Urban Decay stuff which i cant wait to try!!!! and a couple of other cool things. I posted in the forum about it.Thanks so much Meg!!!!!! I really love mineral ES. I have some lovely colors. Though these look awesome because they are pressed, where all mine are looses and it tends to get a bit messy.
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
YAY! pigmented mineral shadows!!! I love eye makeup!! Gonna look at them right now! Usually I have a pretty natural loo going on but I love to play up my shadows! Summer is easier though In the winter natural colors go with most of my cloths. But At wor I wear a green apron everyday (Starbucks) and I always wear eye popping vibrant green shadow and use it as a liner too! I get so many compliments!!

MM, I love how you ask WHICH feature you decide to make bold.I hate when people do red lipstick and smokey eyes! If I know how, and if I was better at it, I'd play my eyes up more.
these shadows look absolutely gorgeous!i keep my lips either nude, natural or a pinky colour.i'd love to accentuate my eyes but i've only gone as far as eyeliner mascara and a tad of shadow in my crease. my crease is quite narrow and my eyes gets puffy in the morning, i'd just end up looking like i've been punched in the eye if i apply too much dark eyeshadow, it's quite a mess!

I have always been one to play up the eyes and keep the lips neutral. I really like that look on others also. These shadows sound divine. Have a nice time in Brazil!
I just bought some Orglamix mineral eye shadows and they are so gorgeous, I'm fiending for more! I don't go too dark on the eye since I'm fair but I think it looks great when I see women with it. I'd like to give it a try sometime
I don't mind loose shadows, but I guess over time you do loose quite a bit from little spills. All the ones I have tried are nicely pigmented. Everyday Minerals varies but they do have highly pigmented colours, there is one I have gotten from Trade Secrets that I don't remember the name, and although they are not marketed as mineral I looked at the ingredients of Lise Watier Couleur Foille have most of the same ingredients as mineral shadows. Although there other other ingredients in there, these shadows are insanely pigmented, come in beautiful colours, and blend like a dream. I highly recommend them. These Astro Orbital Hues look very pretty, but the price is a little steep for me for an eyeshadow. Most of the time I go big on the eyes and softer on the lips. Although I do like a bold lip but I reserve that for going out at night.
Natural lips and smoky eyes, always. I don't know if anyone here has watched "Dallas Diva's and Daughters"-- horrible show, but I'm drawn to it, it's like a trainwreck. Anyway, there is a character on it named Cindy, and she does the huge, dramatic night-time eye (in the day, bright sunny, unforgiving light day) and then these exaggerated lips, lined on the OUTSIDE, and then colored in with matte lipstick in a really bold shade. She might be attractive under all that, but you really don't know where to look, the combination is just so awful.
I used to only wear neutral eyeshadows... then I started branching out into navy blue and plum eyeliners... then I started using bright eyeliners, but just on my bottom lashline... and now I'm experimenting with purple eyeshadow! :P I almost always keep my lips fairly neutral and glossy though.

i like to experiment and do both, but lately it's all about playing up my lips. there are a ton of pretty Fall lip colors that you could only really get away with during the season.

I don't mind the loose mineral shadows, but when I'm in a hurry I always reach for pressed ones. It would be nice to have some pressed mineral ones to play with. I need to check these out.
i like to make my eyes stand out more and keep my lips pretty natural
I think the reason people might complain that mineral shadows aren't pigmented is because they don't use a primer first. For minerals, primer is a MUST, so thank you Meg for sending me UDPP!
I do both depending on what mood I'm in.It's great to hear about Dr Dima's pressed eye shadows, that's one of the reason I don't like mineral eye shadows, I make such a mess with the loose versions.

I definitely like to alternate. I wear glasses so sometimes I just put on a bold lip and a bare eye. But sometimes I play up my eyes and tone down the lips.
My lips are very tiny so I usually focus on my eyes, but loose eyeshadows are not for me. I'll have to keep practising though cause I have a lot of them from everyday minerals and silk naturals, such beautiful colors but I'm too clumsy for them.
I hope you are enjoying your holiday MissRo. I tend to accentuate eyes and go more neutral on the lips
Most days I wear a really light highlight shadow all over, and smudgy dark liner, so I wear something neutral lip-wise. My lips are big and I sometimes feel clownish playing them up but I love to do up my eyes!
My lips are always natural. I only do bold on my eyes, never my lips. Maybe one day I'll step out of my comfort zone.

I love my mineral eye shadows. I dont have any pressed e/s but that's only because the lines I have been buying from don't sell pressed e/s. I love the colors that are being offered here. I am always wearing bold e/s so these would suit me just fine. As far as my lip color goes, I usually just wear a lip balm or lip gloss. If my e/s is bold I def don't do a bold lip too. I will wear a bolder lip if I only have on a neutral light brown e/s though.

I definitely like to mix it up a bit. If my eyes are dramatic, my lips are nude & glossy. I have just recently started wearing lipstick though so lately its been more of a neutral eye with a dramatic lip. The pressed mineral shadows look great though, much simpler than pressing my own minerals as I do now!
This just in! With your purchase of any Cosminology Astro-Orbital Hues eyeshadow, receive a complimentary shadow brush!
I keep my lips natural and emphasize my eyes, i like dramatic eyes dark and sexy !!!
I am with you Philogene!! That is so my look. Great minds think alike.
I am scared of e/s, I always go neutral but soooo need to get over this and go more dramatic!
Great piece MissRo! Wow, Brazil, how exciting! Have a fantastic time and thanks for the great tips! I always do a bold eye with a nude lip or a bold lip with a natural looking eye. I've never been able to pull off both at once, but that's just me. BTW, I love the way you give us exact colors to check out, it's very helpful when you get stuck trying to choose between two different colors that both look fabulous. :) Is Dr. Dima AMAZING or what???Love her!
I, too, like to accentuate eyes and keep my lips natural. I use lots of loose mineral eyeshadow. I don't mind that it's not pressed since I pour a bit of it in a bowl so it's easy to use. :)

MissRo, another great article! I'm so jealous of your holiday though! Hope you're having a ball. ♥ I used to be all about the bold lip and neutral eyes, but recently I've turned that on its head. I've been delving into soft pinks and nudes for my lips so I can vamp it up with popping colour on my eyes. It's so much fun playing around with make-up, I love it!
Definitely bold eyes. I love playing with eyeshadow. I just need to get my hands on some good eyeshadow primer and then all my problems will be solved :)
Im all about the bold eyes and nude lips! I will have to check theses shadows out! I'm currently obsessed with super pigmented shadows!

i love playing around with eyeshadow, especially to use them as an eyeliner. i like to accentuate my eyes and keep my lips nude, i love the smokey effect!
I love mineral e/s! I don't mind the loose versions but if I'm out of time, or if I have to apply them in the cab, I'd use those that I pressed myself... actually I'd applied loose e/s and even eyeliner in a moving vehicle... haha.. huge risk, so I try to remind myself not to do it. I can't do neutral eyes very well. It always ended up somewhat smokey, unless it's just a wash of one color. Also, I don't like to accentuate my thick lips.
I also usually go for an eye shadow palette when im on the run, just because it takes longer for me to use mineral eyeshadow...but when I have time to play around, i don't mind mineral eye shadows. I would accentuate my eyes and play with different eyeshadows when im going out. Usually though, I like to have keep my eyeshadows neutral and play up with my lips. I love love mac dazzleglasses so they always make my lips stand out.
I usually am all about the eyes. Everyone always says I have pretty eyes, so I guess I try to play them up. Sometimes I'll get bored and wear a bright pink lip and a subtle eye just to change it up. Typically I'm all about the eyes though. These shadows sound great - definitely out of my price range though. I especially like the lilac shadow. It's pretty.
I have smaller eyes, so I love to play them up! I love mineral e/s and you definitely HAVE to use a Primer, my fave is UDPP. I dont own very many lipsticks, it's mainly neutral lip glosses.
I usually do a dramatic eye, but I still need to have a little color on my lips. I really can't stand having nude lips, it freaks me out when there's no color. These eyeshadow look really great, another thing to add to my long Christmas list =)
I'm the same way, I can't do a pure nude colored lip, it doesn't look right on me. My lips are way too dark of a pink naturally, it makes me look like death. So I always go for 'nudish', with a pink tone.
I tend to do more eye and less lip, but I love the look of bold lips and neutral eyes! I can't wait to find a red lipstick that looks fab and rock the red lip and neutral eye.
More eye and less lip =) You can play with a ton of colors at once, eye-wise... now I'm worrying I've been neglecting my lip products.
I love the idea of this but feel that I'd just end up looking like Bozo the clown. I'm not so good with the sexy eye look. I envy those who are.
I definitely tend to focus on one area and keep the other neutral. I mainly like bold eyes and neutral lips, but the more and more I play around with lip products, I want to try a bold lip. I think it will be more of a shock to people since they are so used to seeing boring lip colors on me.
i like to accentuate either my eyes or my lips not both.
I love to make a smokey eye with my red lipstick
I always do dramatic eyes and gloss on the lips just because the lipstick always needs to be reapplied after every meal and since I snack all day long, it gets a little hard to remember to reapply.
