ARMOUR LIPGLOSS!
"Down the street I'm the girl next door...I'm the fox you've been waiting for!" ("Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways, 1976)
Goddess Granny here to ROCK your world today and I have to tell you that of all the reviews I've done,I probably had the MOST fun thinking about how to present this fabulous product so that you too can feel the beat!
Gonna' set the stage, literally: late 1970's- early1990's (in other words, my personal heyday!) and it's a time in the music-era truly like no other. Band called the "Runaways" in 1976 recorded the song "Cherry Bomb" written for and sung by Cherrie Currie and let me tell you, these girls were SMOKIN' HOT!
Glam-rockers who took no prisoners and made no excuses for their talents, sexuality, and style...a young Joan Jett was also a member. Without boring you and getting too far into the "history" of it all, know without a doubt that women like these ARE the gold-standard for all that is to follow in the rock n' roll world...I am going to link you to Joan re-doing the song "Cherry Bomb" on her own and I want you to check out her makeup, accessories, swagger, and what she defines:
Have I got your attention now? She is freakin' GORGEOUS and so "current" even back then it is insane! I know some of the fabulous "young 'un's" on here might not be familiar with the era but I'm trying to get y'all to feel what I think is the "vibe" that the amazing creators of "Armour Beauty" might have in mind when they work their magic and design their products?
Theo Kogan and Allison Burns lived the life as artists and models and when you check out the site,be sure to click on "Concept" to see who they choose to pay homage to with their lipgloss colors: it's incredibly tough to take an esoteric concept and successfully create a product that defines a mood, a moment, a feeling, a look. I feel they are spot-on and am in LOVE with their lipgloss! Y'all know I am a huge fan of "women run" companies and these girls are connecting to the strong ones out there who lived the life through music and personal style in the glam-clubs of the 80's and 90's and even more importantly, today! No wonder Fergie, Lady GaGa and SO many other iconic females are HUGE fans of their lippys too!
I've mentioned before that to me, makeup is "art" and if you can manage to set the tone or inspire a "mood" even before the package is opened, well....you will have someone's full attention when they use the product! This lipgloss had me excited before I opened it: elegant and simple black box with a rocker-chic chain motif...gorgeous "AB" logo, sort of reminded me of "Chrome Hearts" and their over the top amazing creations in a more subtle way. The lipgloss is elegant beyond words, hefty-lucite packaging and one thing I ADORE is that it's a shorter tube so it fits in a pocket (his of course!) or a tiny purse with ease...
I sampled the "opaque" formula gloss in "Last Dance" an homage to the divine Donna Summer and that song we have all heard: the product is rich beyong-belief, creamy and saturated but even this "deep" shade isn't off-putting, it's the most PERFECT deep berry shade ever and glides on with a honey-like smoothness! Covers perfectly then seems to "settle" into a perfect "just smooched for hours" shade that I can't get enough of! Did I mention the scent?
Like warm raspberries with a hit of chocolate I do believe...you don't want to stop putting it on because it smells so damn good! Light flavor and truly long-wearing. Add in the fact that's it's cruelty-free, made with healing ingredients, and that it's environmentally friendly and you have something worth raving about!
Does the world of makeup-bags REALLY have room for yet another lipgloss? I say YES loud and clear!!! This one's not leaving my side and I'm lemming for every shade I can possibly get my hands on asap! There are two formula's, sheer and opaque and from what I can determine, they only "do" lipgloss" currently, cannot wait to see what else they have in store for us!
I feel hot wearing this gloss: I get an image in my head of what it must feel like to be half-naked on stage singing my heart out (I can't carry a note in a wheelbarrow,
!) and cannot WAIT to see how Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning portray the "Runaways" in an upcoming movie.
Don't be afraid to get your inner rock-chick on if it's only to dance around your living room in your undies but try picturing what I do when you put on "Armour Beauty" lipgloss and see if YOUR strut isn't enhanced and perfected just a tiny bit more. Consider going out of your "comfort zone" with your makeup and maybe even again, how you see yourself. I am going to need a bigger house soon for the the personalities these incredible products have me moving in
!
This is a lipgloss worth tossing out a few others for, trust me! I am more in touch with my "inner rock-chick" than EVER thanks to AB:do you ever channel someone when you put on your face or pay "hommage" to a fabulous female in your personal style as well?
I am often creatively-inspired by someone or a movie, still can't get "Marie Antoinette" out of my head either-do you think she and Joan will have interesting chats over tea?
I have to draw the line at Joan's shag-haircut but will be trying to copy her eye makeup all weekend.
I have the perfect gloss part all taken care of! What rock and roll glam chick to do you love and have you ever tried these amazing Armour Beauty Glosses?
Buy It at B-Glowing.com! They have the entire line and love megsmakeup!

This really seems grown-up glam rock chic and sophisticated versus the very teen-high school looking grunge rocker look. I love product lines that are cruelty free and environmentally responsible!

Armour Beauty you had me with Edie. If you are looking for a pigmented Angelina Jolie nude lip then Edie is your answer. I use mine constantly. I am ordering another one because I use it every day and the thought of not having it gives me an anxiety attack. It is really the perfect color for me. I am over pink lips so I'll be gifting my pinks to my close pink-loving girlfriends. I am sticking to nudes! They just flatter me so much better. Edie I Love YOU!!!!
With a fan based as varied as Lady GaGa to Reese Witherspoon you are bound to find a new love with this collection. I got mine in the Shimmer Lip Gloss Collection in Gazarri's. I LOVE IT. Mostly because it's a color I haven't chosen for myself in years and am now kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Gazarri's (named after the 80's L.A. glam metal club) is the perfect, most beautiful, totally wearable, hot pink shimmer ever. Low on that teenage shimmer we don't want, high on freakin' incredible. Think sophisticated rock.... It's so pretty, I can skip almost all other makeup when I wear this. What was I thinking ignoring this great color for all these years? I WAS living in metal glam in the mid 80's-time to go back to my roots ladies. (Yes, I'm talkin' high school, but that's when some of us -ahem- were our most outrageous.) I'm dying to try several more colors from this line, in both the opaque and shimmer collection. You won't be disappointed, the payoff is addicting. I can't get over the strength of color, staying power and the most impressive feeeeeel of the gloss. With ingredients like grape seed oil and shea butter (to name a few) of course you know I'm in love. It's the perfect, look at my beautiful mouth, pick me up. Go check them out. Goddess Granny, you nailed it!
Wow, I have memories of hanging out on the Sunset Strip in high school with a girlfriend that loved that metal-ish music! We were too young to get into any clubs, so we'd just hang around outside. I'd complain of the cold and whine that I didn't like that kind of music anyway, and my friend would tell me to shut up and flirt with the bouncer to see if they'd let is in. They never did!
I got the same as Stylemama and ALL I can say is WOW! Where was this lip gloss when I was in High School! Its a gorgeous color that is true to the gloss shade you see in the tube. Usually it looks beautiful in the tube and then you get 1/10 the actual color when you put it on. NOT Armour. What you see is what you get.Edie is now calling my name too!!!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
I hate to break it to you Meg, but Edie has been flirting with me too...... It could be love...... I'm just saying.
I cannot, CANNOT, must NOT buy another lip gloss unless it becomes acceptable and common practice to use said product on other parts of the body no fewer than 15 times a day. But then I clicked the link (oh drunk link clicking is a very bad idea) and I saw the gloss and I thought, well maybe some of the glosses I have are really outdated or maybe Sephora will do another trade in your clunkers discount, maybe the world is ending in 2012 and I won't have lived life to the fullest. Where is the wine?
It seems like products on here catch like fire and everyone is hypnotized by them. I know just reading about EM on here had me ordering from them stat! and now I'm hooked. With the huge celebrity fan club of this product and all the Meghead's who love it I'm going to need this also, and will be hooked on this as well. C'est la vie! Only the best recommendations from my fellow makeup lovers :)
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough
karen726 "Where is the wine?" LMAO! I completely agree, shopping + wine = bad idea, but thats always when my major purchases seem to happen... weird!

Nice review. I checked out their website and Edie is so pretty -I love it. Recently I started leaning towards nude color lips (glosses and lipstick) and playing up my eyes. This color is perfect for that look. Thanks!
stylemamma-that made me laugh out loud "it could be love......just saying...hahahahahahahah!!!!wowza they have lots of celebrity fans! I gotta check this eddie guy out!!!!
Wow, Goddess Granny, meg AND stylemama all loving a line of glosses to pieces?! Now that's a good sell! I'm going to have to suss' these bad-women out and see if us Aussies can't get a hold of some rock-glad down under! EDIT: They are with MyUS, but I'm afraid it's just *too expensive* to warrant a purchase. What a pity. :|
I assume that you are super jazzed about the upcoming Runaways bio-pic. It looks to be awesome!!This gloss sounds devine! I love things with a dark rocker edge. Hope that I get to try it out soon. I must seek it out when the money tree starts to bloom again for me!Great review as usual!
this lip gloss has such a sophisticated look to it!and it has a darker edge? that's a a little out of my comfort zone but I'd still give it a try ;D
Do you offer sample or free trial?By the way, I have used one product with same feature but with better results. Checkout their website http://www.skinvie4u.com
What a great review!! These lip glosses looks so glam. I am not a huge lipstick/lip gloss person but I may convert after reading this. (though sorry to say, I will be leaving the whole 80's inspired theme at the door) :) No overly sticky feeling to report? That's usually the worst part about glosses (for me)
Very Sophisticated Lipstick, I like it.
I like the look of them! I use lipglosses all the time and will definitely keep this brand in mind for the future.
Wow, this gloss sounds amazing. I really have to stop reading this site, I'm wanting so many new products now, and the last thing I need is a new lipgloss, I've already got more than I can use in my lifetime.

i pretty much have a habit of purchasing every lipgloss i have, even though i already have a whole lot, untouched. unfortunately i haven't tried amour lipgloss, it sounds fabulous though!! Hmm rock and roll glam chick.. i've always admired Karen O from the yeah yeah yeahs, she defines my type of glam, she's very much retro, vintage and completely out there with her wild style and haircuts.. but she manage to always hold everything in one piece and appear very lookable!

Ooh I am so excited to go and check out this lipgloss. I haven't bought anything for myself in a while and I feel a purchase coming on!! :)
ooh nice. hey girls this offer may still be on type 'lips' and you will not pay for 3 of them only 6.95 shippinghttp://www.artofbeauty.com/scrpt/scr.dll/ShowLines?cat=102&brand=2&d=ZOYA_Hot_Lips_Lip_Gloss
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
I really want to try this lipgloss out mainly because Lady Gaga wears it LOL!!! I may just wait until I finish one of my lipglosses up since I have so many hanging around!
I was just thinking I hadn't bought a new gloss in a really long time.. this year I finally worked up the courage to wear RED l/s (not just a sheer wash of color, and not a muted red by any means), and was thinking I need a true red gloss. Barracuda is literally calling my name. Unfortunately so are Diana, Last Dance, and Cat Club.
"I hate myself for loving gloss." Whoops, I think that "gloss" was to have been "you." Loved the video input and the colors are extraordinary. Unfortunately, my money tree is planted next to Kellie's in Ohio and the last dollar blew away last week. I'll harvest more in the spring. I so understand when you talk about how much feeling lip products bring about--aren't they generally the first thing a girl uses? I could name some brands and the scents come into my head and transport me back to being fifteen again, sharing gloss with my sister before we went out. Great piece!
Good review. I love the names of these glosses. And I especially love the lucite packaging. It kind of reminds me of the Dior glosses, and I'm totally in love with those! Just the way the container looks makes me want to try them.
I love your reviews!! This is totally cool and sophisticated at the same time. I love Gwen Stephanie she is an everywoman that worked her way up and is so down to earth and glamourous at the same time.
Letita
the packaging itself will sell this product. very glamarous. although, i'm not a big fan of lipgloss, this looks interesting.
This one looks so nice/ Would go well with Vera Wang Rock Princess
GoddessGranny this was one hellofa fabulous review lady - I completely agree with Sytlemama - YOU NAILED IT!! I loved all of it! I totally enjoyed the video too! Joan Jett had killer perfect lips! She would have definitey rocked out all of the shades of this dazzling Armour lip gloss! I got the "Edie" shade too - it's very natural looking on my lips - just a hint of soft color and a subtle shine. My lips look kissable - not overly gooey and sticky like some glosses look! I like this product!! I also am so pleased that the container is a size more like a tube of lipstick instead of those giant long gloss containers you can't fit in little spaces!
Jeanasina!
I like the look of the shimmer lip gloss.Personally, I like: gypsy and kashmir...they look so pretty.I henerally wear sheer lip glosses and since I have never owned one of these, I would love to try one and see if they suit me.Thanks for the review.
as sheebaj said, the packaging alone is good enough, i would so buy just for that reason
This lipgloss sounds great! I like the packaging.
My Beauty Blog:http://laxmorena.blogspot.com/
I used to want to be Debbie Harry! And early Madonna, the 80's version was my personal style icon at that time. Was never a huge fan of Joan Jett's look, just her music. Maybe because she is dark and mysterious and I was always blonde and high-maintenance.
I havnt tried these but they sound delish! and I do love the look! These days Im more glam than rock. But I LOVE GLAM ROCK! David Bowies My FAV! Have to pic up a tube just to try ;)
Tan is Love
Packaging looks great, but I'm not sure if I like the color...
What a great review! The packaging looks really cute too
My goodness, the flavor alone really makes me want to try this!
Well damn it now I want these as well-you reeled me in with your stories of 1970's music-one of my obsessions-so jealous of anybody that got to be there.Iwas foolish enough to check out the other shades and cant even begin to narrow it down-Edie is fab as promised perfect for the 1960-70 rock chick look-bardot,jean shrimpton, twiggy and the lady herself edie sedwick all you need is a smokey eye and tons of false lashes-also would be great for a sophisticated Catherine denuve-belle du jour look. The diana is so beautiful looking it just looks so wearable and baby jane is so pretty and come on who doesnt love the name -bette davis kicked ass.The shimmer glosses also calling my name in nirvana, gypsy, kashmir and dreaming called after one of my fav blondie songs-one of my all time icons.Seriously Mjs red is after hours not calling your name-"a deep purple shimmer for early evening to late night and beyond-its perfect for your inner vampire.".
PotionPrincess♥
I love love love lipgloss i probably have over 50 lipglosses and i still buy more everytime i go to the store.
Adorable!!!!!!!!
I got the Gazarri and loved the color. At first I thought it might be a little sticky, but after it was on for about 15 seconds, it smoothed right out. I like this on solo or over a lipstick. Yes I found room in my car drink holder for another gloss. My favorite spot to keep my gloss as I can pull one out and put on the gloss at stoplights or right before an appointment. I suggest this great product as a buy.
Beste Hilsin
Oh I shouldnt have looked at this!! I have soooo many lip glosses it's unreal! But I am loving the look of Edie as well!
