SHAKLEES MINERELLES LIQUID FOUNDATION!

Sharond here! A number of weeks ago I wrote about a quest to find a foundation that would work on my dry, aging skin. My skin has several problems besides age and drying, there is the uneven skin tone, loss of elasticity and the damage from cellulitis on my chin.
I suffered from chemical poisoning while a child which has caused me considerable problems as an adult. I do not absorb nutrients easily and my test results proved Shaklee brand vitamin and minerals absorb best for me. I have been using their earth friendly cleaning, nutritional and vitamins for over 20 years, but had never tried the beauty products. Recently I was paging through my latest Shaklee catalog and read the following statement; the same nutrients that help keep you healthy on the inside play a huge role in how you look on the outside. So it only makes sense that your skin and hair care comes not from a cosmetics company, but from the foremost natural nutrition company. Interesting.
Shaklee states Minerelles Color Cosmetics get their gorgeous colors from natural oxides that have been used for centuries. Mineral oxides are beneficial for skin providing a natural protective barrier between you and the elements. The same mineral oxides do not require filler ingredients that can clog your skin pores. Applied to your skin, the minerals in Minerelles layer themselves like the layers in your skin resulting in a flawless skin tone with a natural healthy glow.
I decided to try Shaklee’s Minerelles brand liquid foundation in Nude which is the neutral shade. Other colors are available in both warm and cool tones. I normally use light beige/ivory in the cool tones, so before purchase, check the color carefully. Shake the bottle well before using and use care when applying as the product can come out of the bottle quite fast. The foundation is lightweight, almost the consistency of whole milk, feels silky and is recommended to be applied with your hand. I always prefer using a brush and found this worked fine. The product goes on smooth and evenly, your skin feels soft and looks radiant with a healthy natural glow. The coverage is sheer and I found the first light layer was absorbed quickly even though I had used a moisturizing sunscreen first. I applied extra layers to achieve the amount of coverage I desired. Minerelles does not contain sunscreen so check your other moisturizing products to make sure you have enough sunscreen coverage. I gave this foundation the hard test; a long day of errands, making dinner, cleaning the house, and then a long walk. After about 12 hours, I was pleasantly surprised to find this foundation still looked respectful, needing only a quick touchup to dance into the night. I continued to use it every day for two weeks and did not suffer from any breakouts. Actually, I felt that my skin looked and felt better than before. I read up more on the foundation and read that Minerelles has the nourishing benefits of Vital Repair+ complex, an exclusive antioxidant combination formulated to protect and renew our skin. This formula does not contain mineral oils, synthetic dyes, drying talc’s or parabens. My skin didn’t get that dry parched look or turn my face quite red like what has happened with many other mineral makeups’s I tried. I really liked this foundation and find myself grabbing it over the many others I have laying around. I liked the ease of applying, moisturizing effect, flawless skin tone and healthy glow plus the added benefit is that it really does last all day. It did protect my skin from the elements and still allowed it to breath. I didn’t realize my other foundations did not allow my skin to breath until I tried this one, you can feel the difference once you have something to compare it to.
Shaklee Minerelles Liquid Foundation is available from independent dealers which are listed in the phone book or online at Shaklee.com. If you purchase from a dealer you do not have to pay shipping. Joining Shaklee gives you a discount on their many nutritional, cleaning and cosmetic products. I think this is a wonderful product at a reasonable price, $24.95-$28.50 for the 1.2 ounce bottle.

I love that this is a liquid foundation and the way you described it as buildable. It sounds like something that I'd find beneficial. Do they have a vast variety of shades? Was it easy to match your skin color? I find that in humid weather regular mineral makeup (BM specifically) melted off my face. I wonder if liquid would have better staying power.

This sounds like a great product. I love my MMU and how natural it is, but sometimes I just feel like using liquid, and the powder can be such a mess. This could be a great compromise!
Oh Sharond, this sounds like a great product for your skin type! Fortunately [unfortunately?] I have oily skin, so I wouldn't have any use for this myself. So glad you could share this with ladies who do need it though!
I've always used liquid foundation up until last year. Now I use mineral makeup as it is so much better for my skin. I've been wanting to try a liquid mineral foundation as powder can really stick to dry spots in the winter. This foundation sounds great!
I haven't quite made a cross over to the minerals yet but this sounds like the place to start. What I worry about with loose mineral powder is that it'll get every where like the loose powders I use to wear when I was younger, a liquid foundation would be right on my side of the fix.
I'm glad it's working so well for you, but I have super-oily skin, which is why I am drawn to mineral powder foundations. It was a great review, though, I always wondered what the difference was between powder and liquid mineral foundations, and if the liquid was as good for your skin as the powder formula.
I have super oily skin in places and have issues with makeup staying in its place. I also have scaring (which really sucks) so I need something with heavier coverage. Usually whenever I attempt to build something with minimal coverage, I end up looking like a mess.
this sounds like a great foundation, i have pretty dry skin and i always steer away from liquid foundation although i do find liquid foundation to give the best coverage. The only thing i dislike about purchasing make up is that i can never get my colour right >< i'm a winged butter in everyday minerals, but a lot of the liquid foundation only come in light, med and dark.. no olives :(

This sounds like a gorgeous product, I'm glad you've found something that works for you.

I haven't tried any liquid mineral foundations but this one sounds too sheer for my liking. I have oily skin as well so this may not work for me.
This sound like a great product for people looking to get into mineral foundation, but who have dry skin, and so the mineral powder makes it look worse. I'm really glad that it is working for your skin Sharond
For those who asked about color, Minerelles has a good size selection of 10 colors in universal, rosy cool and golden warm. For those who mentioned they had oily skin, I would think that this product would work just fine. It doesn't have products in it that would make it moisturizing. It is lightweight and you can add layers without it looking like paste. I have celulitis damage on my skin and I built up layers to hide the damage to my satisfaction. If you go to the Shaklee site, there is loads of information on their products along with clinical research test results on their entire line of products.

Sounds like you found a great product! I'm still trying to find my HQ foundation... I never felt the need to use it. I've been using it for the first time this year.

Sounds like an un-sung superhero for sure! I LOVE that ALL lines are reviewed here and it gives everyone a chance to experiment in all areas and all price ranges! I think this sounds like a great product and am so glad you found something that works for your skin! :)It's always a "win" when a product gets "grabbed first..."
I personally prefer powder mineral makeup. I used liquid for years and it made my very oily skin look much worse. I will be sticking to my loose powder version.
Thank you for the review though.

This is great, more people need to realize that we are all connected in some way. What is good for you inside is good for you outside. Great product!
hmmm ive been wanting to try a liquid foundation. i wear mineral powder and i like it but ive always been curios about liquid, yet worried about breakouts...this sounds like a good place to start...though its tough for me to find a sin tone match... i would definitally want to find a dealer and see if I can get samples or something, cause its not worth the risk, when i know i wont be able to find a match just by looking at it. theres not a lot of shades, but it seems there are a few medium tan shades.
Tan is Love
I started using mineral makeup about a year ago and won't ever go back, the overall appearance of my skin improved so much that I'm sold on it. I'd like to try that but agree with Punkeydew that samples would be nice, as my skin tone is also a bit hard to match.
This sounds great! I really love the benefits of mineral make up, but in the winter when I get dry, the powder just cakes into areas and dry skin. I'll give this a try, because I was really dissapointed in Maybelline's Mineral Power liquid foundation.
I have used numerous quality skin care products over the years. About 2 years ago, I started using and distributing Shaklee products.Having years of oily skin issues and acne, I have had wonderful results with the beauty/skin care products, including the Minerelles foundation.Another point to mention about Shaklee products, is that they are 100% money-back guaranteed!
Hi Sharond! This sounds like a great product for your skin, sorry to hear you had chemical poisoning, so glad to hear it works for you! I love mineral makeup, preferably powder but I have been looking at liquid mineral foundations here lately.
I have combination skin so this might not work for me. Don't use liquids much, as applying them makes me feel as if I'm rubbing off the sunscreen. Also I have always equate liquid foundation with thick coverage. But it sure pipped my interest reading that this gives a sheer coverage that is buildable.
That sounds like some powerful makeup. This is a little out of my price range, but it sounds worth it. I recently discovered my go to foundation and it is sold at the drugstore. I am willing to pay more for foundation if it great quality. Good foundation is worth its weight in gold. I like the idea of it having lots of nutrients in it. I may give this a try sometime in the future.
wow this sounds great, i am struggling with my mmu right now, nd just went out and bought reg colorstay foundation... i would still like to use minerals but with my oily skin it isnt working. maybe this would tho.
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
Love that this is a mineral foundation in liquid form. The way you describe it as natural and buildable(sounds like a natyral version of mac faceand body foundation with added benefits for your skin.I love that you gave this a through testing all day because that's my number one gripe with foundation going patchy half way through the day, would love to totally trust one that looked natural yet had staying power this sounds just the ticket and had never heard of it until you brought it to my attention-thank you.

When I first gave mineral makeup a try, I didn't like the powder form and gave it up rather quickly. However, since this is in liquid form I might have to give it a shot! I just wish there were a place to try it before I bought it - I hate buying online! :(
xoxo
I ve the skin soo fair and it's hard to me to find a good color of fondation .... and this fondation look interesting for me ...
this is so perfect!i've been looking for a new foundation everywhere!
I use mineral makeup but this stuff sounds great and I would really like to give it a try. It doesn't sound like a bad price either. Thanks for the review!
I always love having a strong, beautiful, flawless base for any occasion. Normally I use a mineral powder, but sometimes I am way to lazy to deal with it. Plus, it creates a mess! This product looks like it would be a great go-to make up that works well, goes on flawless, and is easy to use. Yes, it cost over twenty dollars - but that is a good price, and it would be used everyday so it would be worth it. Great ideas, thanks!

I need a good foundation....

I was excited to go look at this, but then I read the ingredients label: too many silicones and other filler, not enough stuff that's actually GOOD for skin. Also, very small color range. So eh.

this looks like a great product!

I would like to have a liquid foundation for winter, my skin is very dry, but I don't want to buy it without trying it first - finding a match is difficult enough when I have samples to try. I tried several MMU brands and tens of shades and haven't found a match yet.
I love mineral makeup! Might even try this one!
this osunds good, but for me "buildable" foundations never...well, build for me. they just kind of make my skin feel ickier with each layer. maybe this one will be different??
Is liquid foundation better than regular powder foundation?
I have not used Shaklees for a long time. I'm a big fan of MMU and samples would be great to try this foundation.
I have some uneven skin tone around my cheeks so maybe this would be a good option
i wish i could be more bold when it comes to foundation, but my skin is so volatile.
