PURE AND TRUE! GLOW INTENSIVE C REJUVENATING SERUM!
Sweet Polly Purebred probably tried "Pure & True" products just based on their company name alone. Jeanasina here! I got to try the Glow Intensive C Rejuvenating Serum product by Pure & True because Meg loves me and sent it to me! YAY!!!
I have to quote the company because I was totally revved up as I read about them, listen to this: “We believe that true beauty is a sense of peace and well-being – indulging oneself while giving back and treading lightly on the Earth. As a company, we truly care about the way that we conduct business, the choices we make, and how these choices impact our health and environment. We are dedicated to creating luxurious organic products that make a difference for everyone.” Their words are “love pure” which is their commitment to pure ingredients!
As I mentioned, my product to try from this lovely company is called GLOW Intensive C Rejuvenating Serum. Doesn't that name itself sound nice? Anything that has the word 'rejuvenating' as part of it's name says to me that there is a possibility of major changes happening in the dastardly skin department! The formula comes in an clean looking white decanter with a silver top which looks quite impressive on your vanity. It stands out as a 'high end' product. Under the cap is a push dispenser which doles out the magic, rose hip, infused with vitamins C & E and several other natural ingredients, product. This serum is structured to revitalize your skin and promote collagen synthesis and lighten hyper pigmentation. All those things are things I have my hand raised up in the air for daily while I shout “Pick me! Pick me! I need those things! I need collagen for droopy skin" and I have hyper pigmentation big time which is another way to say “horrible, unsightly, stupid-for-sun-bathing-like-a-maniac-skin-damage!" Bring it! Slather me up – make it transform! GLOW was easy to use as it's intent is to be a one step treatment that combines the power of a serum and the hydration of a moisturizer. It can be used as an eye treatment and all over the face and neck. For best results you should use it on clean skin morning and night! This means don't put it on immediately after you get home from your mud-wrestling gig.
I wanted to see if it could really do anything for my most damaged area which happens to be my chest. If you want to see how much skin damage you have so far on your chest, do this, go stand in front of your mirror, now take both of your arms and while they are bent at the elbow, use your arms to push in your boobs so they are almost touching and now LOOK at the skin on your chest in the mirror! This really shows you how damaged that particular skin area is and WHY you need to STOP tanning! I get the dry heaves every time I do this and look at my own chest! EEEW! That's just so wrong! When I do that it looks like leather unlimited meets a 90 year old desert dweller. As my story continues...my face really has been doing well on the regimen I currently use some other products so I wanted to test this new product on skin that looks more brutalized to really give it a challenge! No sense using it on an area that already looks good right? It would be like using bleach on a brand new never worn pair of white socks! Hard to really judge if it is effective. You gotta have dirt to remove first and in my case, you gotta have some undesirable chest skin to heal! My first thought was that this reminds me a lot of one of my current favorites, Ole Henriksen truth serum collagen booster (which I really love!). I think they are along the same lines in what they are geared to do. Although where the OH product comes out like orange clear serum the GLOW comes out more like a thick yellowish creamy substance. It almost has a perfume smell but it's pretty subtle and dissipates very quickly. The product does say it's suitable for all skin types but is especially recommended for dry, pigmented, mature and sensitive skin. I totally qualify.
I have been using it for weeks now exclusively on my crusty skinned chest area and maybe I have a case of optimism eye but I really think it's doing some healing! I think it's less damaged looking! I wish there was a test, something like pregnancy tests only instead you by a product and use it for a month or so and then stick this paper on it and if it turns a certain color it means your skin is healing! Wouldn't that be great? I like to think my skin IS healing from the GLOW Intensive C. I have no doubt it would be amazing on my face and neck too! I think pure & true = a more beautiful you is undoubtedly a true statement on their part! I was even pleased to see that in the event you reach the bottom of the product – to the point where nothing comes out of the pump – with this product you CAN actually open it up and find a way to get every last drop out! It may require an extra long Q-tip but it's do-able! I absolutely hate it when I have a product that is hermetically sealed up and I cannot get the stuff that is just sitting there at the bottom saying “nah nah you can't get me!” If I pay for things I want access to ALL of it! I don't waste anything! AS IF all of this goodness isn't enough, I'm delighted to say that a percentage of their profits from the sale of their products is donated to a social or environmental charity! I like what I experienced so far!
I think my skin has genuinely benefited from using GLOW! I'd love to try their other products in the future, this appears to be a very lovely company!
Have any of you ladies experienced the magic of Pure & True Glow!

Wow - this product sounds amazing! I really love the way you write, its amusing, informative and captivating. I probably don't need this product yet, but it certainly is on the wish list as I get older. The company ethos really stands out for me, I love it when companies write one and have it displayed.
This sounds like a great product and I love how they describe themselves, they sound like a great company.

Anything that has the word "glow" in it captures my attention! this sounds like a great product, although i've never tried any serums before, i'm not sure if i should? it's like the time when i bought an olay moisturiser when i was 15 without consulting anyone,i was half way through my bottle until one of my close friend asked me why i was using olay, it's for mature skin etc etc... but i really couldn't tell the difference they all hydrate my skin!

Can't wait to read what she think about it =)I used to tan so much that now I have lil damadges everywhere on my face and chest too !!! ( thank you for that little tip Jeanasina, and to be honnest I never thought about putting a serum or rejuvenating cream on my chest !!!!)And again I like the fact that a % is given to a charity !!!<3

I love love love it Chloe :-) x x
Wow. Okay. Don't take this the wrong way, but your description of sun damage on your chest area scared the shit out of me. I'm hesitating before I lay out all next summer and get super dark.
http://ediblelove.wordpress.com/
As I age, I've really been trying to find products that I can use to reverse the "crazy" years that took their toll on my skin. I really don't want to be 30, looking 40 on any surface of my body--even if I'm the only one who sees it!
melilala...I actually am glad in a way that my description of sun damage scared you...in absolute honesty if I could have a 'do-over' knowing what I know now about what sunbathing does to your skin, I would NEVER, EVER have spent the days and hours and minutes I did sunbathing! I spent every single weekend lying out at the lake, my lawn chair strategically placed IN the water so I could get even more rays! I spent my two week vacations lying in the sun every single day for about 8 hours! I'd bring a book and read and tan and relax...and for what??? Nobody cares, especially these days, how tan you are. If somebody likes you because you have a great tan...well, what does that say about that person? I'm so lucky I haven't had skin cancer but I know people who have had it from the sun and one beautiful woman I knew got skin cancer ON HER CHEST! She could never ever wear low cut anything ever again. She also lamented her years of tanning. When you lay out in the sun/or inside a tanning bed the rays just seem to have the perfect target in your chest area! I really was fixated for years on being tan and now I just admire so much white, undamaged skin! If anything I ever say registers at all; please believe me, tanning does absolutely nothing GOOD for your skin or your life! My mother was also a tanning goddess and when she got old,her skin really looked bad and seeing this I STILL tanned until I learned for myself to stop. You can't ever turn back time but you can start at the point you are at right now to change your habits. That's what I did. I saw a photo of my tanned out self and I really SAW myself and realized I looked awful! I dated a guy for a couple of years that prided himself on tanning every single day and using tanning beds in the winter so he'd constantly be the darkest guy for miles! I used to envy that until my friends would all say "Ewwwwwwwwwwww gross!" to me about his tan and then use words like "leather" and I realized, nobody was really taken with his major tan! My husband always says "Nothing changes if nothing changes." and that's truth with everything. You can change anything in your life (iincluding the compelling desire to be tan) you just have to decide to do it. Sorry to practically preach but sun damage is harsh and it's something you probably won't realize until years later.
Jeanasina!
I Totally love this product Meg sent me this and it's gorgeous !!!! I'm being totally honest here it's fab I love the smell and the way it feels on my skin and it has really helped my pores they look smaller now :-) I will definitely be buying this when I finish this one which is going to be difficult as it's $78 and that's way over the customs limit for me but I'm going to have to try and get it some how as it's the best serum i've come across !!! Another major plus for me with this product is that it has no chemicals in it as it's made from natural ingredients !!!! :-) Wonderful !!!! Thanks Meg for sending me this I truly love it and will continue to buy it somehow !!!
Thanks Jeanasina for your entertaining review! I LOVE serums on my face. I tried a Patricia Wexler serum once and was absolutely in love, but I figured it wasn't a product I really needed yet because I don't have any wrinkles or sun damage (that I can see anyway).

Meg sent this to me and I love it!!!! My skin is so much smoother. I only use a little bit morning and night so it should last a while. This stuff is expensive but worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't it gorgeous Veronicalin :-) I'm just using it at night to make it last longer, the cheapest I can find this in the UK is £55 and that's a lot of money I have never ever spent that much on a product before but it's so nice that when it runs out I'll have to get it !!!!
I love reading your reviews Jeanasina, it's as if we're sitting together having coffee. You have given us all some really fantastic advice and I concur. Great job girl!
Perfect review Jeanasina, I love serums. And now I have to run to a mirror to push my boobs...
I don't say this often as I'm SUPER grateful for all the FAB stuff Meg sends me...but OH how I wish I had got this in my last shipment. It sounds amazing. I am definitely going to put this on my list to buy. And with the amount of over the top stuff I get from Meg...that says A LOT. Great article Jeanasina...I'm only 35 but I've seen first hand the effects of "chest devastation" on my tanning older relatives. NOT for me. I'll be protecting and reversing any effects I have on that area NOW. Not waiting until I'm older to try it. Its GO TIME!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Based on Meg's advice about vitamin C facial products, I have been using them regularly. I am a fellow smoker and Meg is right! My face drinks in the vitamin C. I have a sneaking suspicion that almost all of the things I dislike about my skin can be traced to my 10-year smoking habit. This looks like a good product to invest in. I'm curious about your continued progress with this product. Jeanasina, keep us posted!

GREAT review and product! I really like this one, gives a bit of a "sticky" finish at first but settles down perfectly, smells clean and wonderful, and after just a couple of uses,I DID see a more even-tone to my skin...Sometimes the C-products are just too harsh for me but it's NOT the case with this one.I think they've made the perfect connection between science and cosmetic in their formula and think it's a product for all,not just those who have damage...prevention ladies!!! You cannot start too soon!!!
I totally agree with you mjsred I have no damage and I'm loving it :-)
another great review from jeanasina!I can safely say i want to try this serum desperately now!!! and how lovely to know that a % goes to charity!!! sound like a great company!
The bottle looks so nice! It looks like a perfum bottle or soemthing.
... good thing i don't tan! aha.i think when the time comes for need to use this product, i will definatly consider it (:
Jeanasina has given a totally honest explanation of sun damage and chest area. I am so sad that i'm addicted to the sun but now when i lay out--i spf my face with 70 and my body with 25. I just love the way the sun feels when i'm laying out and reading a book--I feel so relaxed! BUT my skin doesn't like it. I'm not a huge fan of serums but...i may have to give this one a shot. I have melasma (similar to hyper pigmentation) and am always looking for products to lighten my skin up.thanks for the input :)
I was really glad to read that Glow can be opened to get that last drop! I have had so many facial products that still had 2-3 more uses and I couldn'tget to the precious commodity because it was sealed tight!!I did that "boob-test" and yes...i have that icky chest skin too. My early years were filled with tones of sun and not a drop of sun screen to be found. I really enjoyed reading your review, informative and a dose of humor, love it!
Sounds like a great company and a great product too. I really like their company ethos. I also like the main ingredients in this product - rose hips, vit c and e. I know that they are all really good for you skin
LMAO there should be a test like a pregrnancy test... the old age test.er.... I need something for my chest... I take good care of my face but seriously need to start paying attention to my chest, particulary because i am large chested and it stretches and pulls the skin :(Sounds awesome!
Tan is Love
I love love love vitamin C serums, and the great reviews you all have for this product and it goes on my list!
Jeanasina! I did that chest test thing.... I can't believe it! I am worse of than I thought! I suppose I should have known, since I didn't use sunscreen for most of my life, and when I started, it was only at the beach, or on my face & neck. Somewhat recently, I have started using sunscreen and an antioxidant serum on my chest, too! However, it appears that I need some damage control. Save me Vitamin C!!!
Great review! There are devices that can be used to check the texture, firmness, &/or dryness of your skin, although not in the comforts of your home. SKII counters in Asia usually have a device that can scan your skin and estimate your skin's age.
This was sent to my sister i used it once it felt amazing iv plagued her since bout it :):)
This product sounds pretty fantastic. I'm not very old yet, and unfortunately, I can already tell that I have sun damage on my chest, which sucks! I was always really careful about spf on my face, but for some reason I skipped my chest, which I really regret. It's hard to reverse sun damage.
I have yet to figure out when to use a serum. Before or after my moisturizer? How long should I wait in between? You get the idea. I have some really irratating sun spots because I was stupid enough to go tanning a few times. I know it's bad so there's no need to remind me. It was a weak moment and I wanted to be a little less pasty.Anyway, I wonder if this would be able to help with that.

You do such great reviews Jeanasina! This company sounds so inviting. I am relaxed reading the soothing words :-)
What a wonderful article, Jeanasina! So informative and entertaining. I love the way you write. : ]I already use 100% pure organic rose-hip oil on my face and neck and chest area. This sounds like a beautiful product that adds a whole lot more to the blend that I'm already using, but being a student it's hard for me to afford anything above drug-store. :|Maybe when I finally have a job again, this will be in my shopping trolley!
Jeanasina, you have put the fear of old lady chest in me. I did the test and was horrified to see a few lines. I use SPF moisturizer on my face and neck, but never on my chest or hands. I frequently wear v-neck tops, so the skin is always exposed. I shall have to begin wearing sunscreen daily in that area and perhaps purchase this serum to fix my few lines.
i think i have minimal skin/sun damage..mainly cause im pretty faithful to my sunscreen..but this sounds good nonetheless
First off, I love your posts, they are so funny! And you give great tips, I will have to go home and check out how much damage I have on my chest. This stuff sounds really good and the company itself sounds wonderful, natural products and donating portions of sales! Thanks for the review!!
Haha, this post cracked me up! Anyway, I stay out of the sun so my skin isn't damaged but I think this would be fantastic for my mom. I wonder if the damage caused by smoking on her skin could be improved by this serum?
I also received this as part of my mu points prize, and from the second I read the box, I couldn't wait to get it on my face. I have rosacea so my cheeks/forehead/nose are really blotchy and uneven. Plus my skin is severely dehydrated, no matter what I use. This makes my skin feel nice and hydrated, like it's finally getting the moisture it so desperately needs. It doesn't leave my skin as soft as Vitamin E Oil, but still pretty soft. It also works as a mu primer, my foundation seems to stick and just look better overall when I use this underneath. I also agree about the bottle- it's so simple and elegant and classy, my eye is immediately drawn to it when I look at my skin care products on the sink. The bottle also has substance, which is nice-- it's not just a flimsy little thing that feels cheap. It's my favorite skin care product in terms of aesthetics, hands down.To be honest, the smell is a little off-putting to me. Kind of like a really thick sunblock (but not coconut smelling, just regular sunblock), and it lingers for a while. It's also a bit sticky, makes my skin feel tacky for a few hours (or sometimes the next morning, depending on how my skin absorbed it overnight). The benefits definitely outweigh those little issues though, and the tackiness isn't as bad if you don't use too much. That's another great thing, a little bit goes a LONG way. Initially you'd think that with as thick as it is, it wouldn't spread well, but it distributes really well and you really only need a small amount to cover the whole face/neck area.
I got this in a gift basket i won from Meg!! I think it smells like Fruit loops.. my Bf agrees!! I used it during the summer and it make my face look/ feel greasy.. ill have to go home and give it a try not that iam 100% dryer! hhe GOD HELP ME SNOW WILL BE HERE SOON!
Fruit Loops?! Lol, I'll have to give mine another sniff and keep that thought in mind, maybe I can get my brain to register that instead of sunblock. I agree, a bit too heavy for summer (at least in the daytime), but now that it's winter I'll be it'll be just right!
Sounds great i wanna try !!
it looks like a great product, a nice bottle i would love to try it. I feel my skin is very dehydrated and has very open pores that get clogged waaaay too easily, alas. maybe this could help
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
Nice clean looking product again. Would sit nicely on my dressing table, would like to own one of these and try it.
I would love to try this product!! I have been guilty of indoor tanning so hopefully this would help the damage all over my body!!!
this looks like a great product!

That chest test was kind of weird, but I guess things like that really make you realize wth you're doing to your skin when you expose it so much just to get a tan. I wish people (especially teenage girls) realize this sooner
nope, never tried it, but sounds great!
This sounds like an amazing product. never heard of it be. thx for this =)
