JURLIQUE BABY'S CALMING MASSAGE OIL!
Babylove here! I'm having so much fun writing these posts! I'm especially loving these products that I'm able to use not only on my kids, but also on myself. This weeks highlight, Jurliques Baby's Calming Massage Oil, happens to be one of those products!
My youngest son, Calum, is 16 months old. He's been a fairly difficult child since his birth. "Just hold on until 4 months, and the colic will disappear," they would tell me, but it didn't. I tried every trick to ease his tears. Car seat against the dishwasher-check, swaddling-check, car rides-check, crying hysterically while banging my head into the wall-check. After the peak of his colic, came the peak of his acid reflux, then his teeth, then ear infections, and as it turns out, THEN never ends. Still, now, he seems to be a fussy toddler. He whines a lot, cries for no reason, and never seems to know what he wants. Developmentally, he is totally normal, but I'm waiting anxiously for him to start talking, so I can find out what it is about his current living arrangements that he finds so intolerable.
The one thing that I wish I had done a little more research on, was the benefits of baby massage. When I received Jurlique's calming oil, I figured it was a perfect time to give it a shot. I used the oil after his bath. I applied it first to my hands, and then to the areas I know I feel the most tension and stress. The oil smells like lavender, and it's a little strong, so it's best to be conservative with the amounts. Calum responded extremely well to the massage, and the only time he started throwing a fit, was when I stopped rubbing! I used just enough oil, that I didn't have to wash it off afterward. His skin was left really soft, and moist. I've started doing this now, at least twice a week, and I really believe it's helping him to relax. I'd also like to add, that my husband has been rubbing my feet with this stuff too and after a long day, it feels great!
Jurlique has a large, fabulous line of products for skin, hair, body, and baby. If massage oil isn't necessarily your thing, check out their eye treatments or cleansers which I have also used, and KNOW to be fantastic.
Who else is a fan of Jurlique and how do you get your baby to calm down?

"I'm waiting anxiously for him to start talking, so I can find out what it is about his current living arrangements that he finds so intolerable" lol! That part was really funny to me! I don't have kids yet so I don't really know what it's like to deal with them crying all the time, but I'm scared because I pretty much feel my blood pressure skyrocketing whenever I hear a baby cry at a store or anywhere else for that matter. I'll keep the massaging idea in the back of my head though for when my time comes. :)

this product sounds like it had been due to come for a while, with emphasis on healthy and natural living, this products seems to emphasize that and also comes with more glamour. I love it!

I too have a fussy baby- or should I say fussy 15 month old but she has been fussy since birth and same thing happened- she went from colicky to acid reflux to just plain miserable.... So I'VE been using Jurlique in my bath when my youngest daughter stops crying for the day and goes to sleep. I love that its organic because I'm pregnant and I just feel safer knowing its all natural. I also love anything lavender scented and anything that claims to be calming-since my life is anything BUT calm. It certainly does make me feel relaxed and leaves my skin so soft. It comes in a pretty big bottle and you only need a small capful in the bath so it will last a long time. It is great when you have a product that you can you can use on your kids as well as yourself. I always put some in their tub after a crazy day or when they have a cold and I feel like it makes them feel better and their skin feel amazing. I'm going to take Babyloves advice and start massaging my daughter Summer with it:)I give a thumbs up to Jurlique!
I've never heard of this brand. But sounds good.
I love the scent of this bath oil, as does my daughter. She is a 2.5 yr old product junkie so anything added to her bath is a bonus. My 8 month son has very sensitive skin so I'm afraid to use it in his bath yet... I feel like the oil moisturizes their skin and leaves a very subtle scent. When I use it in the bath I use fragrance free lotion afterwards. I've also used a tiny amount on my legs in the shower, as they tend to get very dry around this time of year. The smell was a little strong at first, due to the amount used, but was perfect after a while.
I tried the Jurlique Bath Oil in Lavendar and it definitely made me feel pretty luxurious. Kyle probably didn't care, and my husband wasn't crazy about his very manly 11-month-old 'smelling like a girly flower'. But...it smelled really earthy. Not in that weird 'dirt and leaves' way, but in the nice organic, flower-y herbal way. The smell matched the pretty box with the lavendar plant wrapping itself around the organically friendly recycled cardboard. I followed the very easy directions, poured 2 capfuls in the warm bath and swirled it around. And here's the downside. It isn't a bubble bath, or wash, so there are no bubbles. For my son, bubbles are a must. So, he was not thrilled that this bath was bubble free. I liked the way the bath smelled, his skin was nice and soft and it didn't leave my bathtub slippery like some oils can. I probably won't use this each time, but occassionally would be fine with me. And I might just have to steal it for myself once in awhile!
I have many friends that either massage there babies because the doctor advised them to do it because they just couldn’t stop crying all the time or that do this spontaneously and in all cases they all say the same thing : The kid loves it and it really work's and helps the baby.It is something to do even if you don't have a fussy baby. It helps with the digestion.
my baby is getting ready to turn 21 yrs. in a few weeks, but I can say that when she was just a wee baby she loved having her feet massaged! I am willing to bet she'd love a "Happy Birthday" foot massage with Jurlique as she loves the lavender aroma and so do I, sounds devine (smells devine)as for the babies with colic, maybe lactose intolerant? Good Luck to you ladies.
Loved Jurliques Baby's Calming Massage Oil!!!! The scent was strong but not over powering! I was afraid it was going to give me a headache as soon as I opened it, but it didn't! The glass bottle made me nervous since it is oil, but it wasn't difficult to use! It does however come out very quickly, so I poured it into the cap and then into my hands.I used the oil for Cole's bath one night and he came out feeling so soft and not greasy!Since I am in the beauty industry I know a lot of people that do many services to adults, babies, and animals! I have a client whoteaches baby massage to mothers in there own homes. She came over one night and taught me how to massage Cole and help him relieve any stresses! It's hard work being a baby!! She immediately asked me where I got this product! I told her about the review and she thought that this massage oil was by far one of the best she has used!! I have used many other oils, creams, sprays, you name it and nothing is as good as this oil! I felt like Cole's skin just soaked in the oil without feeling slippery!Great product for babies!
i never knew jurlique made baby's calming massage oil!I wish we had this when i was a baby!i love this baby section, even though i don't have a baby yet, but i think i'd know quite a lot about kids by the time i have my own purely from reading these :D

mmmmm the one with lavender.... i LOVE lavender!! Lol Seriously I would lose my mind if I had a fussy baby.... lol why I won't have kids don't worry lol. I know there are joys in life that can only be brought by ones own children... but Im ready to forfeit that!
Tan is Love
Oh, baby massage is fantastic. I really feel for what you've had to go through, Babylove! Wow, what a wild ride.Thankfully my partners youngest is 3 now, so I've all but missed the terrible toddler years. He's a really placid and lovely child so there's been very very few tantrums and even less tears! I'm a lucky lady, I know. :]
I got the Jurliques Bath Oil. I love, love it! My boys don't really care about it, but I have used it in the bath for them before bed and do think it helped to relax them. It is not bubbles, so they don't really notice it..it does make thier skin extra soft. What I really love about this is when I use it for myself after a long day. It relaxes me and smells so good, like lavender. I think I will keep this one to myself for now ;)..do they make a line for adults?
Massage is a wonderful thing for making someone feel loved and cared. What else would a baby need? (Or a grown up)
I'd heard many good things about massaging a baby. This sounds like a great gift idea for my mommy friends. Thanks for the review! :)
I don't have a baby either so have no tips for you. I hope you get things sorted out soon.I just finished up a sample of Jurlique's Wrinkle Softening cream and it was lovely. It made my skin feel so soft, I'm going to buy some asap.

hmm..this looks like a lovely product! I am a massage therapist and this would be a great gift to give to my pregnant clients :) I also have a 10 month old baby at home that could definitely use a little calming..or a lot :)
Oooh, we have a Jurlique store where I live! Although I have never entered the store, haha, I'm much too intimidated!I know that giving your baby a massage is one of the best ways to calm him down and it creates a deeper bond with mother and child.
I love a good massage, plus lavender is one of my favorite scents!
I have never heard of this line but who isn't up for a massage...even though I give them way more than I get them.I hope you find something to help ease your stress (I know it can't be easy).
I would love to add a few drops of this to a nice hot bath after a dragging day of classes and long boring lectures. Sounds so relaxing.
Iam thinkin about buying a face moisturizer from Jurlique. I've never tried anything from Jurlique before, and Iam unsure of which one of Jurlique's moisturizers will suit me the best. Anyone using a Jurlique moisturizer?
My littlest one is also a fusser and the baby massage totally helped. I have tried Jurlique products but I just don't like the lavendar smell. It's one of the few that I can't handle.
