ORIGINS SPOT REMOVER!
Megken here! I need to ask a question: is it normal for a bro(meg)ken-up non-esthetician ex-girlfriend to attack you in an elevator and squeeze out your blocked pores? Back in the day when I had lots of zits I had a choice, white or "skin tone" Clearasil. I have no idea why they thought that the white was "clear" maybe it had to do with the "Clear" in Clear-asil because it had nothing to do with the WHITE color. I didn't think I would still get zits at this age, well now we call them "blemishes". On that, lets talk about nomenclature just for a second here. "Blemishes", first of all-a blemish is a flaw on a car. It's not a disgusting pus spot growing on your face.
Origins has this product that I like however it's called "Spot Remover", despite sounding like something I need for my carpets it is the best thing I found to remove my gross facial visitors. Well, why doesn't someone come out with something and call it, "Zit Sh*t"? I am serious. But I am also serious when I say despite it's overly puritan name, Origins, Spot Remover, Anti-Blemish, Treatment works so well, and it's also not white or "skin-tone", It's just a clear gel that you use very sparingly. I tried this on some of Meg's PIMPLES, for lack of another zit word, and her skin is a little bit sensitive because she said it burned a little, it doesn't burn me though. Sometimes it feel good to have her suffer for beauty...
My feeling with Zit Sh*t is if it burns it works.
One more thing, if your dog is named Spot don't try this product on your dog-he'll disappear.
Anyone out there besides Me and pimple popping Meg that are fans of Origins Spot Remover? What zip zapper do you love?

I'm a fan of other Origins products, but I've never had a need for acne products.

i've never tried any origin products. but i do need some pimple treatment every now and then. atm i'm just using neutrogena, the tub is tiny and it doesn't do anything a part from giving me a cooling sensation.. i'm pretty sure my pimples started to grow bigger afterwards. I'll have a look at this product next time i'm at the shops!

I need to ask a question: is it normal for a bro(meg)ken-up non-esthetician ex-girlfriend to attack you in an elevator and squeeze out your blocked pores?Um... no. no it's not.But anyway...I have used samples of two of Origins cleansers/masks--an acne one and a charcoal (?) one. They were just alright--didn't do any miracles on my acne-prone skin. I've used tons of acne products, but the only thing that actually cleared up my acne is Accutane. I'm maintaining my results with Clinique Foaming Cleanser, Cetaphil cleanser, and Neutrogena astringent (the blue kind).

an entertaining article! aha.I'm 15, and this stuff sounds great.... I have oily skin so it should combat that irritation meg was feeling (:
Only if bro(meg)ken up girlfriend is overly obsessed with beauty and perfection....;) Well... Then I guess it is normal!Lol though this I don't have sensitive skin so this sounds like it may work for me. I nowadays I only get bad breakouts...once a month... I use the clinique acne wash and toner.

I LOVE Spot Remover! This stuff is amazing, and that tiny little bottle lasts forever!
I am laughing my a** off because now that I know you both better,I can TOTALLY see this happening,LOLROF! I also pick at Michael like a Mama Monkey at all times. Its all about the lighting. :)Glad this is a solid product for you,it would no doubt reduce me to tears and red-blotches but I do think Origins is a great line.If I get a "bump", I usually rely on a dab of Tazorac to heal it fast...usually overnight. We girls can use cover up but it you post about your favorite one,we shall have to chat. :)BTW: megken is VERY handsome and I don't believe either he or beautiful Meg really HAVE pimples, they just pretend so they can advise us all...:)Darlin...if you only truly KNEW how we suffer for beauty.HUGS!
I agree with mjsred--what price beauty? I have to admit that I "clean" my husbands pores in any way I can. Thanks for this review! Ron also had a miniscule tiny black hair growing from his nose and I tweezed it continually until it finally disappeared. He receives facial masks, especially when I apply (how cute is that)? And how cute and hysterical you are. Megken, go write a book already, m'kay? God Bless, Gigi
mark get clearance is my zit sh*t of choice. It seems to do the trick for me. But it is a very small tube so if you have more than just the occasional pimple this isn't the product for you.
Love and Lipgloss,

OK, now that I'm over laughing at the vision of Meg squeezing the daylights out of your "blemishes"... Geez, I can't even imagine doing this to my husband. He'd go nuts. Anyway, I've used Origins Spot Remover and I think it was pretty good. Now, however, thanks to Style Mama, I use tea tree oil for just about everything, including the occasional little pop-up. Usually the offender is gone (or seriously reduced) by the next day. Bare Escentuals also has a powder called Mineral Therapy or something like that - and that works well too. But my real question is: What can I put on my poor red, chapped nose? I've got a cold, can't sleep, keep blowing my nose - and the dang thing's about to fall off!

Lol, my bf and I totally pop and squeeze all kinds of stuff out of each other's skin, it's really pretty gross! We both get some twisted fulfillment out of it I think haha. I've never tried this product, I don't get too many pimples anymore, but I use an acne fighting cleanser every day to help keep them at bay, and clindamycin for spot treatments.
never try this
My favorite zit zapper was The Body Shop's Sage and Comfrey Blemish Gel. To my great disgust they discontinued it so I'm now on the hunt for a new miracle product.

Cool product! i also enjoy skin firming lotions and stress removers by http://www.skinvie4u.com
I don't know what it is with blemish treatments of different kinds, but generally I feel they do precious little.A good facial steam, followed by exfoliation, OCM and a good clay mask and then a honey/aloe vera mask to calm my face down is what works best for me. Usually I get blemishes because my pores are clogged, applying an anti-bacterial something helps to take infection away but that is about it. I need to declogg the offending pore in question to make the blemish go away. I especially love it when I manage to declogg those really huge ones that hurt like **** and then with a slight squeeze, the whole thing just squirts onto the mirror. It is gross, I know, but somehow oh so satisfactory. :P
I'm glad I'm not the only one who "enjoys" seeing the offender clogging my pore die on my mirror. LOL. I agree with you Agnes that sometimes a nice routine to unclog is all you really need.
if its good enpugh for you and meg its certainly good enough for me! i love origins-but i have never seen this stuff?!
Haha! I am so guilty. I admit to squeezing to my bf's face whenever a huge monster zit (just for you megken) pops up out of nowhere. He knows when I'm about to do it as well because I will just stare at it. Eventually he'll tell me to quit staring and squeeze. LOL. He refuses to use any kind of treatment though. Some men. As for me, I just use some witch hazel mixed with lemon juice as a spot treatment. It dries it out and usually clears in a day or two. This product sounds amazing so I may have to buy it and trick my bf into thinking I'm just putting neosporin on him. LOL.Thanks for a great review megken!
i've never tried any origins product...but have been eye-ing a couple of them...looks like i may add this to the list....i wouldn't need this product much, but its always nice to have a goo weapon on hand! thanks for a great (& funny!) review!

At our house the routine is like this....my Harley man husband comes towards me and my bionic whitehead, blackhead, pimple seeking eye immediately zooms in on any outcropping that doesn't belong on his skin. At that point I mention softly to my man something like "I see something new on you." He lets me focus on the dastardly eruption and then calmly says "You want to get it don't you?". Within seconds, much like a vampire about to sink teeth into a neck, my fingers go into squeeze mode and by the time I'm done the contents of the pimple in question has been erased from the universe of my man! Granted, there is sometimes a heavily reddened area where I did my work, but the insides of the troubling spot have been erupted like a volcano! Then I usually say, "Did that hurt dear?" Every time he pretty much says "YES!" but lets me do it again the next time the bad guys pay a visit to my man!My husband is 55 years old and you'd think breakouts would be a thing of the past but I guess even rugged old Harley-driving guys still get breakouts! We noticed that they appear the most when our eating habits have gone down the toilet for a few weeks. He has tried Stylemama's Tea Tree Oil but it was too much for him so he randomly tries whatever brand we see at Target in the blemish treating isle! I'll have to mention this Origins product to him to see if he has any interest!! His current favorite is AcneFree Acne & Blackhead Terminator spot acne treatment.
Jeanasina!
I've never tried it but I definitely should. I'm always having trouble with acne. My goal is to minimize it as much as possible since it never entirely goes away.
Another zit popper here! Haha, I would love to try this out. I've been scouring the shelves for a great acne treatment. I hope Origins will be my miracle worker!
The smell of a lot of Origins products actually turns me off, so I don't think I'd give this a try, but OMG! I really need some Zit Sh*t that works! I've been using AcneFree Terminator which is basically a tube of really harsh benzyl peroxide and it's been great for helping me keep acne at bay but it's also so, SO drying. And now that it's almost winter I guess I'm going on the hunt for a gentler one - I'll keep yall updated if I find gold...
I'm always on the look out for new blemish treatments, hubby and I both suffer, will have to look into this stuff! Thank you for the hysterical review!
Well I know Megken you don't like the name of it but since I am on a beauty website i kinda like the name I want everything with the word "remover" in it lol, I don't have the acne I used to have but when I got some pimples they love to stay for a while and I am always looking for THE MAGIC POTION !I really like Origins products don't know this one yet But I trust MEGKEN if he said it works that mean IT WORKS !( I hope lol)and by the way my dog's name is Saphyr so I am glad it won't disapear !

Megken, great review! You always make us laugh and it's nice to get some male perspective on all things Megsmakeup. Poor Stylepapa knows he better run if I see one brewing, so yeah, I think it is very normal elevator behavior. GO MEG! I've always liked Origins products. They make a great (but expensive) makeup remover. The little round pre-moistened pads work very well and are sooo soothing, love 'em.Besides TTO, I also like Cosmedicine's Speedy Recovery Acne Treatment. It's a nighttime blemish powder (2.0% Salicylic Acid). You dust a bit on the offending area at bedtime, and you wake up with less redness and a much smaller if not absent, pimple! Surprisingly, the powdery texture stays put all through the night, with zero additional irritation, a major + when dealing with the little nasties!
I need this product my zits likenever go away. :|

Megken...you make me laugh (thats a good thing) I am a firm believer in Tea Tree Oil. I read about it here and I tried it and I love it! Just a dab will do ya. Its inexpensive and a small jar/bottle will last a long, long time.I am sitting here with the mental image of you in an elevator and you ex attacking your "zits?"...my husbands' first wife would do that to him...I won't do it though...I just hand him the tea tree oil! LOL he's so deprived
Thanks for the article! This sounds good.
Haha, Megken you crack me up!!! I think you should definitely write some more articles, you had me rolling around my floor with laughter. :DAs for a 'spot' treatment, I use plain old lavender oil with an ear-bud! Dab a small amount on the offending zit and it will dry overnight. Stubborn blind pimples may take a few days to succumb, but rest assured - they all do.
It really does sound like a carpet cleaner or a laundry detergent. :DI've honestly never found a spot treatment that works. I've tried benzoyl peroxide (stopped that b/c it kept bleaching my towels), salicyclic acid (good as an overall treatment though) and a Burt's Bees spot treatment (stung and helped mayyybe a little).
LOL Cool Review ...
The burning part scares me a little, but I am interested in some of Origin's products. They are just so pricey for me. I currently use Philosophy's On a Clear Day spot treatment. Unfortunately, it appears to not be working well with my skin anymore.
I am getting this ASAP! I just ran out of my Clean & Clear and Murad stuffs. I do wonder why origins, a skin care brand, chose to have trees as their "symbol"..
I started using this many moons ago. It does have a little kick to it when you apply it, so I only use it on the blemishes that hurt or when I feel as if another one is coming. There is also a not-so-pleasant odor, so don't expect it to smell like candy and flowers. (:
All the origins products I own were gift sets from my friends. They are mostly bath products. I'd used active erythomycin gel and it works -- the pimple is smaller and flatter the next day, within days the pimple will dry up and drop off -- but at the same time the gel is too drying for my skin. Now I just apply manuka honey or rosehip oil on those "impossible-to-pop-with-my-fingers" pimples.
I really like Garden of Wisdom's Majik Anti-PopUp Blemish gel. Works well to dry up a zit in about a day.
I used this a long time ago. I guess my skin is sensitive though because I do remember it burning. Plus it was a little too expensive. Even though I don't like the pro-active line, their refining mask with sulfur is a pretty good overnight treatment for individual "blemishes". Very funny post by the way! :)
LOL @ "Zit Sh*t"...Great phrasing.I totally agree, if it burns, it's working. I use Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment (2%) Salicylic Acid. It burns, but it works :)
I really want to try this product (I swear, I start out half of my posts here with that phrase - this site is such an enabler!) but I currently use Neutrogena's on-the-spot zip zapper, and it works decently well for me. I fail to see how they're all so ifferent since they all have the same active ingredients.
xoxo
I had to stifle my laughter so I wouldn't wake the whole house ("zit sh*t", really?). I get blemishes pretty constantly. I use Clarisonic which has cut down my troubles a bunch. The blemishes tend to fade pretty fast after I get through with them. I keep an eye out for congested pores, hoping that if I catch them early they might not erupt into big ugly pimples. I have an extractor so I use that instead of my fingers. Then I wash my face, apply a little toner and moisturizer. Sometimes I do a mask instead. I sometimes look all blotchy the next day but that's what makeup is for. I can't imagine popping someone else's pimples. Sounds pretty nasty to me. I would just direct them to go do it. I personally have to use a salicylic acid based pimple fighter since benzoyl peroxide wreaked havoc on my skin. Right now I'm using Clean and Clear.
I am an acne product junkie. I am willing to try almost anything if it claims to get rid of acne.I can't imagine popping someone else's pimples. My mom used to do it to me, when I was a teen and I hated it so much I would never do it to anyone else.
I thought this stuff was ok, and it did burn me a little too. I honestly didn't think it was much better than some of the drugstore products that are much cheaper. But I bet it really depends on the user's skin type.
