GETTING TO KNOW KILIKENA! SPOTLIGHT ON KRISTEN SCHULTZ!
Name: Kristen Schultz
Age: 23
Vocation: Purchasing Assistant
What is in your purse? My wallet, gloves, scarf, a sample size of Sephora by OPI daily hand moisturizer, my keys, orange Tic Tacs, M.A.C Lipstick in Hold the Pose, Bonne Bell Lip Lites in Berry Smoothie, Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Toffee, Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Lolita, and Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Sweet Pea.
Guilty Pleasure: I love McDonald's fries, I basically grew up on McDonald's so even though it is pretty gross, I still have hankerings for those fries! I am totally addicted to shoes, I love pumps especially. I am really bad for buying super tall shoes, wearing them to work for a couple hours and halfway through the day I switch to flats.
Skin color, type and any special skin concerns: I am pretty fair (N4 in M.A.C. Studio Fix), I have combination skin and it doesn't help that I live in a very cold dry climate. My main skin concern are my dark circles, so I basically have to use concealer every day so I don't look "tired" when I'm not.
Beauty inspiration: Kat Von D! I admire her because I think she looks fabulous with all her tattoos and yet she still looks pretty with all her heavy make-up. I envy how great her complexion looks, and how awesome her dark eyeshadow is (I like the smokey eye look but have never been talented enough to apply it). I love when she wears dark lipstick because it just looks so rocker-chic! I also love how she has her own make-up line made by Sephora, I have a few eyeshadow palletes from her and they are totally rad.
Top 3 skincare products:
- NeoStrata Gel Cleanser - this stuff has gylcolic acid in it and it gently exfloliates the skin. It doesn't irritate my skin and it doesn't have a heavy scent. It is pricey but it leaves my skin so smooth it is so worth it. One guy at my work asked if I had a facial because my skin was glowing, I hadn't had a facial I was just using this product.
- Clinique Superdefense Age Defense Moisturizer SPF 25 - Dry Combination - I like this moisturizer because it provides me with a lot of hydration without being too heavy. It's supposed to help against stress that can cause aging, and I like that it has SPF 25.
- M.A.C. Fix + - I spritz this stuff on after I've applied my make-up. I love how this gives my skin an extra boost of moisture, especially on cold days in the winter when you come into a warm building after being outside in minus 30 conditions (got to love Canada!)
Top 3 tools of the trade:
- Eyelash curler, I have used a metal one for years it really opens up the eyes.
- N.Y.C. New York Color Cosmetics tweezers, I bought these years ago they are yellow slant tweezers and they are amazing. I cannot find this brand anymore where I live which is sad, so I can't lose these!
- Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush - This kabuki brush comes in such a cute case, it is perfect for applying bronzer and it is super soft.
Best beauty secret / tip: To use the Round Bath Brush in the shower in circular motions to stimulate blood circulation and to help remove dead skin.
Three current beauty products you'd like to buy:
- Model in a Bottle
- Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss
- Urban Decay Skyscraper Multi-Benefit Mascara
Favorite Drugstore product and why: Burts Bees Lip shimmers! They are just awesome.
Favorite Splurge item and why: Diorshow Blackout. I love this mascara but I just can't stomach paying for $30 for a mascara (although I did buy it once, and it was fantastic!)
If I was on a limited beauty budget I would: Sell my plasma! I don't think this is an option where I live, or if it is I don't know about it!
Great to get to know you Kristen!
And your hair looks amazing in that picture.
We totally feel for you, it's so hard wearing high heels for more than a couple of hours, so torturing!
How about you ladies? How do you survive?

Nice to meet you, Kristen. I think Kat is stunning, too!

Another McDonalds baby! I crave their fries all the time. They are the best around in my opinion. Great. Now I'm going to have to stop and get some on my way home. (drool runs down my chin, LOL)I love heels but I don't have the problem of not being able to wear them for hours on end. Maybe it's because I sit down most of the day. Or the inserts I put in them. If you haven't already, check out the petal inserts from Dr. Scholls. Life savers. I also have the anti-bac in Sweet Pea in my purse. My coworker bought the whole set for my bday. (She named it a H1N1 survival kit.)Thanks for sharing with us, Kristen! By the way, I love your makeup in the pic. You are really pretty!
Nice to meet you! I love your hair color! I'm the same way with shoes...I have like 15 pairs of 5 inch heels that I never wear! I always end up taking them off after a few hours anyways. Plus, my hubby is only a bit taller than me, so I feel self concious if I wear heels around him (although, he doesn't really mind?). McDonald fries are the best! I live really close to a McDonalds and when I walk to my car, I can smell them...Yummmm...

I live in a cold climate too (Minnesota is pretty bad in the winter). I figure it just makes me even more appreciative of vacation time and going anywhere south of say, Iowa. :) I can't wear heels and I admire anyone who can wear them for any length of time. I have such wobbly ankles and I hate the weird looks people give me because I walk so strange in them.

mmmm, Mcdonalds fries! Did you know a small fry only has about 250 calories? As far as unhealthy snacks go, that's not too bad! I hope I just justified your cravings a little more!I live for heels. I worked retail a bit for some extra cash on the weekends and got used to heels for hours on end. Not a problem for me! And gotta love employee discounts...that's why I have about 40 pairs of NineWest shoes.... :)
Hi Kristen - glad to meet you! I'm with you on the McD's fries. I don't eat them anymore but the smell can drive me crazy. I used to go to the drive-thru and just get an order of fries. Who needs the burger??I am so envious of your hair... it's exactly what I want but will never have due to the extremely curly genes from my dad. Also - get that Model in a Bottle when you can. It's great to have in case your makeup has a tendency to wander off!

Nice to meet you! I love Mickey D's too, even though I know I shouldn't. And the Too Faced retractable kabuki is amazing. I love keeping it my purse, it's so cute and soft! I also always keep BBW antibac with me, I like that it smells nice, not like alcohol!
Nice to meet you!I have a bit of shoe problem too. I just sold some on eBay, to use to the money to buy makeup.
Nice to meet you Kristen :) I also have a huge issue with dark circles. I just can't seem to find a good way of hiding them. With age and lack of sleep for several years I have gotten lines under my eyes that get more visible when I try to hide the dark circles. So it's a bit tricky to say the least.
yes! mcdonalds fries are crack! and wow, you're so pretty!

Hi Kristen, Kat Von Dee really... has it going on in the make-up dept.! I'd love to get a tatoo by her. I think I will try out your method for dry skin in the winter, M.A.C. fix+I need a good remedy for "winter skin"thanks beautiful!!
Hi Kristen, nice to meet you. I have the same problem with dark circles. Have you tried Bobbi Brown's corrector? It's the best thing that I've found for my dark circles so far.

nice to meet you kristen! :)haha! i love mcdonald's fries too! but now i love fries from local "fish and chips" shops because they use chicken salt.i cannot walk in high heels at all, unless it's full soft leather with a buckle. my highest heel is about 4cm.. and my toes will start to ache :\

Ohhh I really want some McDonalds fries now!! Yummo!I use those gel inserts at the balls of my feet. That extends the hours I can wear fantastic shoes for! I also am very bad at buying tall but beautiful shoes! :)
nice to meet you....Kat Von D is beautiful all her tats give her so much personality....I always carry tons of lip stuff in my purse 2.....and mcdonalds fries r awesome
You can't say McDonalds without causing a reaction generally lol. I love their fries too! Your cleanser with the glycolic acid sounds like it really does the trick I will have to check it out. It sounds like you really take care of your skin and I really respect that. Nice to meet you
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough
Hey Kristen! I loved reading your profile.
I always wondered why can't they make good looking heels that are as comfortable as flats. Why can't we have it all?
Agreed Holly! I have yet to find a pair of heels that doesn't kill my feet. I'm obsessed with cute flat shoes though, and buy them all the time. The only thing that has helped my poor delicate feet is Band Aid Blister Block and Dr. Scholls Rub Relief (I need to order some body glide though!). It doesn't do miracles, but it does help keep my feet a bit more comfortable. It's funny how many french fry lovers we have on here! Fast food is definitely one of my guilty pleasures (oreo milkshake? french fries? yes please!)

Hi Kristen! I admire Kat Von D's style too. Usually the bold eye + bold lip = disaster, but she rocks it. Did you see the ad for her new tat concealer? One pic she looks like herself and then the other she used the product and all her tattoos are gone like they never existed - amazing! I wonder how that concealer fares used traditionally on blemishes and circles, etc... Thanks for reminding me about dry brushing. It's great to do when you are out and can't spend extra money on scrubs!
Hi Kristen, its nice to meet you :) Your photo, is so cute, I love your eye colour, its gorgeous. I also think that your vocation sounds great - purchasing assistant.
I am completely addicted to McDonalds french fried too! If I smell them then I have to have them. You have such pretty hair. I love he color. After reading your comment on NeoStrata Gel Cleanser, I just have to have it!

Nice to meet you:) Thanks for the tips.
Hi Kristen! Oh, McD's fries I stay away from! Haha, I'm trying to wean myself off fast food. You are so pretty and your hair is gorgeous! I also have a weakness for high heels, I buy them and just stare at them because I couldn't walk in them for so long!
Hi Kristen, nice to meet you! I love mcdonald's fries too & with strawberry milkshakes! I love my high heels but change into flats the minute I reach the office.
for the heels problem, the things that u can buy from dr scholls really help. theyre only about 10 dollars
Best hormonal indulgence: dipping McD's fries in a chocolate shake. I always have an extra pair of comfy flats (usually Tory Burch so I'm still cute) in my car for when the 4" heels are too much.I think I'm N4, too in MAC, but I just found NARS duo concealer is ROCKIN'!, especially for dark circles. You apply the darker shade on the under eye, then blend into the lighter shade below. Seemingly contradictory, but works amazing. Try vanilla/honey.
Haha. I had to post that I don't dip my McD fries but I love dipping Wendy's fries into their frosty. Yum. When I get McD's fries it's mainly for the salt because they salt them A LOT! LOL.
Aww thanks for the compliments and the tips! I remember when I was younger I wanted some curl in my hair so I asked my stylist to do a body perm (my hair does curl with a curling iron and flat iron but I guess Im too lazy lol) and he refused to "ruin your beautiful hair" I am now soooo glad he talked me out of it bak then.
Nice to meet you :-) I love McDonald's fries too :-) I haven't had them for ages because of how fattening they are but I do love them !!!
MMMMmmmmmm Fries....... Thanks for that craving! Grrr. Thanks for the tips!
Hi Kristen! McDonald's french fries are way too good that it's bad! I wish they could make them healthy so we can have them any time we want. And I am there with you on the shoes. I love the look of high heels but ouch! I'm pretty short so I like wearing heels to give me a couple of inches, but flats are my best friends.
check out my blog

I wear flats. No pain for me :)And hey!...you spell your name the RIGHT way! Woohoo! Great getting to know you.
Lovely to meet you Kristen! I adore Diorshow mascara as well, but like you can no longer afford the indulgence. Oh well, I'll be finished studying soon enough - then I can splurge! :D
I'm super glad I work in a really casual office so I can wear sneakers every day. I love heels but really don't wear them often. My feet have really high arches so sometimes heels get very uncomfortable! My Mom always used to switch into flats during the day too :)
Hi Kristen, so nice to meet you! You're beautiful...so is your hair! I do the same thing with all my shoes. I LOVE heels but always swap them out during the day for flats.
Hey! we have stuff in comment, 1) i know how you feel about those fries!my babysitter would always take me tomcdonalds and all i would get would befries, i stopped eating them for awhile butnow whenever i drive by i am always so tempted.I am also fair skined and keepburts bees in my purce :)

Nice to meet yoou! :) I have to agree with you on shoes - as gorgeous and as amazing as they may make your legs look... they HURT so bad! Luckily I'm tall enough that I make my heels-wearing occassions few and far between, but at the same time - dayum they hurt :(
xoxo
Nice to meet you Kristen. I agree with you in most of the products especially with the eyelash curler because I believe that it totally changes the look. Thanks for the tips!
That's a whole lotta lip products! Sounds like my bag!

Glad to meet you, you are so beautiful!
model in a bottle... that sounds so interesting (:I'm going to click on that link now just because the name sounds so interesting!nice to meet you.(:ps. I loooove these meghead spotlights!
I'd like to try model in a bottle too. My face is SUPER oily!!! I've tried tons of primers claimed that having oil-controling power but were just useless on me...so sad...and there are just sitting inside my drawer now... Model in a bottle is another product that claims to last the makeup longer without melting. I'm not sure about it but would like to give it a shot
I agree! Mcdonalds fries are greasy, gross, and horrible for you - but then again, they are an addiction! Aha.

haha heels definitely kill after time! that's why i can never really wear them! :P
I also love Burt's Bees lip shimmers AND McDonald's french fries. What a combination!
Wow, you're so pretty
agree 100% on the fries!www.lingsblog.wordpress.com
