WINNER OF THE COSMINOLOGY - KHARMIC KHAMELEON ASTROKONCEALER IS...
MissRo here again! Wow, twice in one day! That just means we're super busy here at Megsmakeup.
Without further ado, the winner is Brooklyn007! Yay! I was really moved by her story. From her job at that Environmental company, to what happened to her skin after, to having the reactions to different products, and then finally not even being comfortable going to the beach, she certainly deserves this product. For everyone that has not read Brooklyn007's entry, check it out below.
Miss Brooklyn007, please email me at - robyn@megsmakeup.com with your full name, address, and a picture of yourself. This way I can match the best tone to your skin. Again, congrats for winning!

My skin has definitely seen better days. In 2005, I started a job at an environmental company. (It has nothing to do with my degrees; it was an open job, and they hired me.) Anyhow, I had to take air samples at asbestos and lead removal sites. The job sites were often filthy. However, the worst part, was that I had to wear a respirator in order to take samples in contaminated areas. I was fine for a couple of years, but then I started to get REALLY irritated in the areas where the mask and straps touched my face. My chin was a mess--I had to be careful when I smiled/ate/yawned so the irrited skin didn't break open and bleed or ooze. It seemed more like major chafing than acne breakouts. While wearing the mask, a lot of condensation builds up on the inside, then the mask would rub when I moved my head around. My face was so sore/scabby/scarred. Oh, It was great when people asked me, "What's wrong with your face?" ... Yeah, people actually did that. Some miracle helped my skin clear up to a tolerable level for my wedding (Oct 2008)! Thank you, God! After that, though, the bad continued. I was looking for other work, too, but I couldn't find it. This past spring, I finally quit that job because I needed the time to finish my graduate degree! I thought I'd be able to finally get my skin back in shape. Unfortunately, I had an EVIL reaction to Juice Beauty, then another to Philosophy's Purity Made Simple. Is my face more sensitive now!?My chin has cleared up pretty well, including the scars, but my cheeks are still a complete mess. It still takes me 20-45 minutes "to put on my face" in order to leave the house (that's not even a full face of makeup). I won't even go running or to hot yoga without a crazy amount of foundation. There are days when I cry and don't want to leave my house because no matter how much I do, my scars still show through. I live by the ocean, but refused to go to the beach this year because I didn't want my makup to come off. I try to wear my hair down often so I can hide my face. I hate being in bright lights or natural light. Shadows and dim light please! In addition to all of this, my skin tone is hard to match. In less than 6 months, I've used Everyday Minerals, Smashbox, MAC, Chanel, & Shiseido. I'm right back to EM! I thought the Olive Medium was looking weird on me, but it looks better than the others. My scars are still VERY evident, though. I'm currently using glycolic facial cleanser, Kinerase, retinol, and hydroquinone. I hope it will help to fade my horrible scars. My husband is always upset with me when I'm running late, but sometimes I just can't get my concealer right. (Of course, my hair causes some lateness, as well! :))I will have to say that it feels "comforting" (I don't think that's the right word, but it's all that I can think of now) that I'm not the only one with skin issues that make me want to stay boxed up in my house. I hope we all can find a solution!!!

This made me tear up...seriously! I have heard of how "work environments" such as you describe can result in issues but your story truly defines how damaging it can be in some cases.Hoping this will work well for you and do NOT despair:they are many good products and foundations out there, have you checked "Jane Iredale?" Many doctors suggest her produts for damaged skin. Many hugs to you and get out and enjoy that ocean girl! It's a great healer. Thanks for sharing your story.

Congrats Brooklyn007! I hope you won't need the concealer in a short time.
Aw, this entry made me so sad. Skin issues are absolutely devastating to the psyche and having a thoughtless person say something just spirals the hopeless even more. I'm so sorry about all the problems and the non-solutions. It's tough wishing every new product we try is going to be *it* and it only turns out to disappoint. It's equally awful just how far reaching the damaging effect one part of your life has in the duration and severity of skin problems. Good luck to you and my fingers are crossed that something eventually works for you.
Congratulations, couldn't have gone to a more deserving person. :) I really hope it helps you!
Congrats Brooklyn, and thanks for sharing your story. I cannot believe people came right out and asked what was going on with your skin--that is so RUDE and probably made you feel so much worse. I hope this prize is helpful for you. Enjoy!
congratulation and thank you sharing your story.
Brooklyn Girl - I'm glad you won this and I really hope it works for you. Your story really moved me. Have you seen a dermatologist? I wonder if that might help too. I wish you the best.

congrats! I hope the concealer helps! But I do agree with some of the other girls - maybe a visit to the derm and a facial will start to help it clear up? I'm far from an expert, but that just sounds like it needs additional help. That, and maybe cocoa butter and witch hazel as a toner at night or so to help with the scarring. Also - maybe heavy use of makeup can be making your skin react, because it has no time to heal? Good luck girl, and remember, you're beautiful with or without scars/makeup!!

Wow what a compelling story. Congrats on the win! I think you really deserved to win it. I really hope it helps you and helps shorten your routine. I don't have the same problems you have had, but I can relate. During college, especially the last couple of years, my skin was horrible. I had clear skin before college, but college ruined my skin. After I started college I developed a horrible acne problem. I'm not talking about little bitty pimples all over my face. I'm talking about huge cystic acne all over my face. On a good day I would have about 20 big bumps on my face, and on a bad day I could have as many as 50. Even on my good days my skin looked bad. I literally felt like I looked like a monster sometimes. I couldn't go anywhere without at least foundation. It took me forever to get my foundation right. I had to wear so much to cover up my spots, so it took so long to make it look natural, or as natural as I could. Even with all that makeup you could still see my spots, but it wasn't as bad. It was very frustrating. It made me cry, it made me depressed, and many other things. I just graduated from college in May and luckily most of my acne went away. I still have a few minor scars and I still break out some once in a while, but it's nothing like it was. And some days I don't have any breakouts at all. Like right now my skin is amazingly clear. I've been going without makeup for the first time in a while. It makes me feel free. I think that your skin will end up getting better over time. Just don't give up, and remember that true beauty does lie within. Although the stuff within jars, tubes, compacts, can always help you look better too.
Hi! Wow, I never saw this post until today. So sorry I never commented. I only that I had won with I saw a message in my Guestbook! Well, I'll try to make up for that. The Cosminology concealer is a very good concealer. My only criticism is that it is a tad pink for my skintone. I can still use it, but on some spots it doesn't work as well b/c of the pinkness. I would love it if there were some more color options! I would definitely recommend this concealer, though! It goes on fast, and it has a nice consistency and staying power. Somebody asked my glycolic cleanser I was using: MD Forte II, but it's finished I have DermaDoctor Wrinkle Revenge Cleanser 3. I did go to the dermatolologist a while back when my skin wasn't quite as bad as it was this past summer. They had me on antibiotics, using sulfer face wash, and Lustra Ultra (a cream w/ retinol & hydroquinone). I got to the point where I didn not have active issues, but still a lot of spots. The Derm told me the only think that they could now do was recommend a peel, but it was going to cost $500 for the series, and insurance did not cover it. Therefore, I didn't do it. The stopped giving me the Lustra, too, b/c hydroquinone should only be used for short amounts of time. Anyhow, a while after that, all hell broke loose. I hope I answered all questions. Once again, I'm sorry I never saw this!
