OUCH POUCH! KEEP THE PAIN OF SEARCHING AWAY!
Baby Love Here! How much time do all of you moms take for yourselves in the morning before rushing your kiddies off? I usually don't even brush my hair or change my underwear. I'm lucky if I can get William to school on time, without leaving his lunch box and backpack on the kitchen counter. This past Wednesday morning was no different for me, other than I was only rushing to get the boys to the playground for a few hours before the rain started. I fed them, clothed them, and left the house sans deodorant, brushing my teeth, and forgetting to put on a bra.
I figured I'd probably end up getting covered in sand and dirt and it would be best to clean myself up when I got home and Calum went in for his nap.
I got to the playground at 9:30, and by 9:33 William had fallen face first on the slide, slit his chin open, and clearly was in need of stitches. Back to the car we went-my injured child and sagging boobs.
Baby Love: Hi, Nicole can you watch Calum for a few hours? William fell and split his chin open...
Nicole: Oh no! Yeah, bring him over. You should use the Neosporin in your OUCH POUCH to put on his chin until you get to the emergency room!
Baby Love: Good idea, I forgot I had it!
Now for all of my reviewers out there, please don't be jealous that I had such a dramatic accident to give me an excuse to use my OUCH POUCH. For the rest of you who have no idea what an OUCH POUCH is, let me break it down. An OUCH POUCH is the following: an embroidered pouch FILLED with Neosporin, tweezers, Band-Aids, sanitizing wipes, lollipop, sunscreen, and Tylenol. OUCH POUCH=great idea!
While cleaning up William's chin, I used the Neosporin, the Band-Aid, and the sanitizing wipe to clean up the blood on his hands. And when I was done, I gave my little patient the lollipop to have in the car ride on the way to Nicole's. That's a lot of use out of a little pouch! A pouch that I conveniently put in my glove compartment the second I received it, since I'm the kind of mom that can't remember to put a bra on, and since I knew it was only a matter of time until I would need it.
Could we all grab a zip lock bag, fill it with first aid goodies, and put it in our glove compartment? Yeah, I would say we could, but I'd rather buy one of these convenient and smartly designed Ouch Pouches. They are decorated in the cutest designs and clear on one side (easy to find every item!) Save myself the trouble and the time. Perhaps that extra time saved could be my chance for a shower.
These are a great little addition to a diaper bag or suitcase. They're compact, easy to find, and start at $4.95. The pouch itself is worth the money! Do yourself a favor, check out the site, and save yourself some of that time that we all don't have enough of.

This is a great idea for all parents, and a great price, too! Thanks for sharing :)
This sounds like a great idea to have in your car or diaper bag. Babylove, I had to laugh when you told your story. Braless...too funny. ( When I went out today I had my jammies under my coat!) I hope William is ok and that he didn't need to many stitches. ( My oldest has them on his cheek.) This is a great gift to buy for moms to gift to other moms. I will have to check out the site.Artcandy

I hope Bunheads don't find out that there is another OuchPouch company out there and make them change their name. (Bunheads make dancing products and have had a product called OuchPouches since I can rememeber for dancers to put in their pointe shoes!). But then maybe because its a different product, its ok?Anyway - they seem like a great idea! They seem incredibly convenient - what a great present for mothers and travellers alike. I like to be organised & always carry some bandaids, liquid sanitiser and safety pins in my bag with me. If I was a mother - I'd definately get one.
I keep a pack of antibacterial wipes, sunscreen, motrin, tylenol, reg asprins in case of chest pains etc., band aids with anti bacterial ointment in them, and a few odds and ends. I usually keep paper plates and pet food in my trunk in case I run into an animal in need. When I have my grandson with me I try and keep snacks and water in my car too. My mom always said to keep water with you and that piece of advice has come in handy more time then I can say.
I'm bad, no emergency pack! This reminds me of Kid Kits, from The Babysitter's Club! (Except, of course, for the obvious differences.)
Kimchi, hahaha I used to love the Babysitter's Club and totally remember the Kid Kits!!Because I work in a school, I do carry around some emergency items (gloves, band aids, hand sanitizer) but not in such a cute little kit :( Maybe I'll use one of extra my little makeup bags to keep everything together...

Baby Love, you just described my morning routine to a tee. I love a woman that's honest and real enough to admit the "real" way her daily life plays out, beautiful saggy boobs and all! Saggy boobs rule! I've got a moderately sized first aid kit in my glovebox that has all that you mentioned, plus a few handy adult treatments, but minus the lollipop. Admittedly, to the sweet honey pie with the boo boo, the lollipop will seem like the most important part of her childhood emergency. I'm adding lollipops to my kit a.s.a.p.! I keep a pack of gum in my version of the "ouch pouch" for those days (every day, ahem) when I don't brush before taking my girls to school. It's a real life saver. I also keep dissolvable 25mg Benadryl Quick Dissolve Strips in my kit. (I give these to both my girls every night before bed during allergy season. I cut one in half so they each get a 12.5 mg dose, it works beautifully.) I keep them in my emergency kit for two reasons. One, a bad case of seasonal allergies can really make a little one miserable, especially while on a play date. Two, if I'm ever around a child that's having difficulty breathing or is experiencing a possible unknown food or bee sting allergy for the first time it could buy valuable time while we locate an epi-pen or rush to ER. These strips are NOT designed for this type of use or meant to replace an epi-pen, it's just something I would reach for if no other options were available. These strips are a very handy over the counter medication that are easy to administer and offers safe, effective results for the treatment of allergies. I love sharing this kind of information with each other. You get such USEFUL, and creative parenting tips this way, it's enough to save your sanity, truly.
One more thing, if the children get their lollipop, then I'm thinking we should add a flask to the kit for the adult version of the lollipop. What? Emergencies are very stressful!
@stylemama: Hahahaha, good one! This is really a necessity for all the moms out there. No one is accident prone at our household since there are no more toddlers but I think we should always keep this one handy when we're going out.
Great idea this pack for all mumies!!!
This little ouch pouch is not only super cute but it is so convenient. This is something I probably would never think about going out to buy for myself but now that I have it I think it is so great. It would make a perfect baby shower gift! Every mom should have one in their cars and diaper bags. I love how stylish it is and it will be super easy to replenish the items once they are used. It really has everything that you need to cure a boo boo while still being in a stylish little pouch!

I googled all over and came up with the Ouch Pouch for dancers, blog postings about the first aid kit, but no actual product. Regardless, a first aid kit for kids is crucial. And whenever you have used it, refill it right away if necessary. All of our Meg's girls had great ideas (I like the vodka, but get home safely first!) so prepare a couple of them (How about the significant other's car, grandma's house, etc.). I like the idea of going green to create the pouch at home? How about all those black felt Sephora bags they used to send with online orders? The dust bags from shoes and handbugs which are collecting dust in the closet? And maybe even put a bra in there!

I really didn't think this would come in handy since Cole is only 10 months old! I kept it in my bag and totally forgot about it until one day my husband kept complaining that he had this metal splinter in his hand. I remembered I had an ouch pouch in my bag and could attempt to get out this horrible splinter!! I opened up the pouch, found a pair of tweezers and twee-zed the splinter out. Tom asked me why would I have a pair of tweezers in my bag! I told him about the ouch pouch and what it came with! He immediately asked me for the lollipop and thought it was brilliant!! Great idea, even for BIG babies!
What a cute idea. My handbag is practically has a first aid kit in it, but it would be great to get it all together with this little bag
I think I am neither good nor responsible because I have never kept anything like this in my diaper bag and I'm sure I could have used it on more than one occasion! What a great idea this is. Babylove, you're right, you could put everything in a ziploc baggie but the little pouch is adorable and a lot more durable. I am really excited that I have the little pouch and can switch things out as I may think I need them. Its probably something I would have walked by in the store and now that I have it I'm really happy and will always carry it.
Jeeze..I could use one for myself, lollipop included.. even if I don't have kids. haha.

I got this product about 3 weeks ago, and was like, oh cute.... But my baby is also only 10 months old (I'm with you Colesmama!) so why would he need all this stuff? How many times have I used it? 4. Seriously. My little barely-mobile monkey managed to (in just a few days): scratch his face with his own fingernail (yes, I cut them regularly!), lose a sock resulting in one incredibly dirty foot, and refused to leave the playground on that really sunny day we had last week. (that 4th use was on myself...I got a horrible papercut at work and on my way home, 'borrowed' Kyle's Ouch Pouch and used the Neosporin on myself!)I was putting Kyle in his carseat on the way to daycare and saw his nose was bleeding a bit, he had scratched himself right near his eye. Luckily, I had the Ouch Pouch in my diaper bag and didn't have to run back inside to use the Neosporin on the scratch. When I picked him up (one sock less than usual) I used the wipe to clean off his dirty foot. And since I had told my day care lady that I had this cute little pouch, she ended up using the sun screen since it turned out to be a nice day. Not bad for a small, fabric $5 pouch! These are so cute, easy, convenient, stylish and perfect for Moms of kids of any age. I love that one side is clear so I am not digging through a bag, I can already see where everything is on the outside!I highly recommend this as a shower gift! Moms-to-be have no idea what they are getting into!
Even for adults this would be a good idea to carry around! Or maybe it's just me because I'm clumsy... I have had to go to school a few times dripping blood because I tripped running for the bus! I always have disinfectant and band-aids in the house, but maybe I should prepare a small pack to always carry around for my klutz moments.
i l o v e this idea!!sure i could easily put toqether my own; but the packaqinq is probably one of thee most appealinq aspects!! i'll definitely have to throw one of these kits in my car [:

I was thrilled to receive a cute little purple ouch pouch. My diaper bag was in some serious need of reorganization! My emergency items were in different pockets/pouches! I was able to consolidate some of my items into the convenient and stylish pouch. I added a couple of my own items: more bandaids, Q-tips and a medicine dropper for benedryl. The pouch has come in handy many times already! My son first spotted the lollipop and it was devoured before I could open my mouth to say "NO". The sanitizing wipes were used to clean sticky hands when "eating on the run". The bandaid/neosporin was used to heal a skinned knee & elbow. And, the tweezers were used on mom for a little eyebrow maintenance ;).My IDEAL ouch pouch would be a little bigger (ok, maybe A LOT bigger), so I can fit my son's epipen, benedryl and topical antihistimine & steroid cream. Also, it would be great to have some Children's Motrin. Did I forget to say it needs to fit the kitchen sink too? ;-)This is a fabulous gift idea for anyone! I highly recommend the ouch pouch to anyone!
That's a great idea! I should get one for myself! I'm such a clutz and if you look in my desk at work, you will see all the first aid necessities, I'm constantly hurting myself. I really need to put something together to keep in the truck.
Haha I could totally use on myself!! It is a great idea for those who have little ones :) I wish they had this kind of thing when I was young...I would have loved the lollipop!!
How practical! This would make a cute little gift from one mom to another. I could use one for myself--I get a papercut at work roughly every 6 seconds. :P
Awww I hope your son is ok!
This is sooo cool! It would also make a cute gift, and an awesome neccesity for mommy's.
What a great idea! I'm planning to buy one for my li'l sis who's a mom. And I think I'll adapt the idea for my own version of an adult ouch pouch. Not being the most graceful person in the world...

I always carry 2 bandaids in my wallet and a small bottle of Tylenol in my purse and you'd be surprised how just those items come really handy not only for myself but if someone else around me needs them too. The ouch pouch is a great idea for mothers! I especially like the lollipop idea.. It makes the ouch pouch seem more special, caring, and motherly.

This is such a great idea for the un-organzined mom (umm..me) I never think to put anything in my diaper bag like this and now that I have the ouch pouch I don't have to..its all in there! I have not had to use it yet..but I am sure I will. Its also a great gift idea, and how cute that there is a lollipop...Love it!! I will be keeping it in the car so its always with me..
I don't have any kids but I made my husband up an "ouchie kit." At his job, he is constantly getting cut, burned, or injured in some other way I don't want to think about. I put together a kit with band-aids, neosporin, gauze, badages, burn relief gel, eye cleansing solution, etc. That kit comes in handy for him much more often than I would like.

What a great idea. Now that my son is 2 I don't bring a diaper bag with me anymore, I just keep a few diapers, wipes, and necessities in my car. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but my purse has slowly become more of a diaper bag than a purse. Just yesterday I found half of a cherry pop-tart stuck to my credit card while digging through my bag trying to find Bryce's Optimus Prime transformer. So, needless to say, I have become totally unorganized. The ouch pouch is perfect for someone like me. It is a perfect size for my car or bag, I can find all my emergency first aid things that I used to keep floating around in my purse. Now I at least feel more organized. Anyone with kids should have one.
LolI have a car emergency pack in my trunk :D Im so proud of myself for having it. We get months of snow over here and I live in the middle of miles and miles of wheat fields. I could spin off the road and be trapped in the snow for DAYS!!!!'Its got flares, 3 days of food and water ( plus I have like a bunch of bottle of water in the trunk too) First Aid stuff, splints all thats kind of survival necessities! Oh and one of those space blankets.Haha ONE of these days... Ill NEED it!!! but hopefully not anytime soon :DI love little conventient first aid kits though, this one sounds great for anyone in the car. it never fails I always cut myself one something somewhere or my friends do and I come to the rescue!thanks for the review.... 4.95???? Seriously cheap!!

Not only does this product make you look like a Mom who's got her stuff together(which I'm not) its packaged so cute! So far I've used a bandaid and the lollipop. I secretly think my 3 year old was dying to get a cut once she saw the pouch. It came in very handy though and of course made me look like I was Super Mom.I was curious to see how much these were when I got my hands on it and was shocked when I saw it was under five dollars. I didn't think anything packaged so cute, and be so helpful, could be that cheap. Then I saw all the various pouches you could get -Wow what great ideas!! They make really good gifts for new moms too!
This is such a great idea. We have a $200 First Aid kit on our sailboat, but sadly they forgot the lollipops. Perhaps they should make an Ouch Pouch for adults that comes with a Valium and a hundred dollar bill.

Great idea! I've made my own to keep in the glove compartment, and also include a mini bottle of liquid hand sanitizer, a swiss army knife (with mini scissors,) and an automatic quick-chill compress for painful bruises. I like that lollipop idea - something sweet for the sweetheart.
My kids are grown, and "back in the day" we used a bag of frozen veggies! My, how times have changed!xoxo,

The ouch pouch is the cutest and most practical idea. I love my adorable dragonfly pattern and the see through front. (although my daughter instantly discovered the "dumdum" pop in it). I usually have all of these items in my diaper bag but in a zillion different pockets, never corralled into one little pouch. I'm always trying to get more organized and this little pouch helps me get one little step closer to my goal. I now need one for my glove box too. It's a great gift idea!!

this is a fab idea! I am such a scatter brain! i am def getting one of these i just hope i remember to take it out with me!!?!
I agree; what a great price for something so simple that can come in handy when you need it the most. I always try to have bandaid or two in my wallet whenever I go out. Plus, I always carry hand sanitizer and tissues. :)

this is a great idea! i don't keep any organised emergency packs in my bag..it's just ladies sanitizing products somewhere deep inside my bag.now that i've read this, i think i'm gona find a little zip bag and create my own emergency pouch :D

Clearly something I need to gift my sister! She is not a small child any longer, but she is extremely clumsy and she just bought her first real high heels so an accident is just waiting to happen. She would never put a plastic zipper bag in her beloved laptop bag, but a cool pouch like that? Might work.Me, myself, of course already have a first aid emergency kit on me at all times. Including scissor, needle and thread (no, not for deep cuts but for bad quality buttons. I swear, H&M and similar stores sew in buttons so loosely that they will come loose from just being shaken, so you have to buy new clothes constantly. Because, let's face it, how many of us remember where we put that extra button, manages to catch the button coming loose or care to change all of them in lack of that button?)
I don't have kids, but the idea of an Ouch Pouch is a great one! I always try to make sure to have band-aids, Aleve, and Benadryl with me. I also keep hard candy with me too as my blood sugar can get low.
I am so glad that I read this post, what a cute idea, and as soon as I'm done typing this I am checking out that site!! I have an 8 year old and a 9-month old (both boys!); I am totally in need one of these!! Also, I am definitely gifting some of these to a few moms that I know. They are very convenient and save you the trouble of making one yourself!
I need a grown up version. The past year my feet have turned against me and have managed to find every edge of furniture, raised curb and any injure-able device going. Plasters have become my best friend.
WOW! I need to carry this as a grandmother! Fabulous article! My biggest awareness of a really GOOD mom, who was ALWAYS prepared for any travesty was my friend Donna. I vividly remember one day going to the fair with her. We were having so much fun when in the crowd, my friend Donna (the mom) stopped and said something to the words that "Somebody is in trouble!" With her bionic ear tuned in completely, she spotted the source of the crying and made a bee-line over to the mother and her child who had a now bleeding scrape on his arm. Within seconds, my friend Donna whipped open her magical purse full of every single thing somebody might need, and she whipped out an antibiotic packet and a big wonderful band aid and she literally saved the day! Absolutely, positively, fabulous way to be prepared!
Jeanasina!
great idea!!!
oooh... This is great for mom on the go... I will buy!
This is a great idea! I keep something like this in my locker at school everyday. I have emergency deodorant, floss, lip balm, a tampon, band-aids, some Advil, and a little makeup. This is a great idea for parents!
Oh this is such a great idea! I'm not a mother but I love stuff like this!! I always keep deodorant, dental floss, band-aids, painkillers, allergy meds, eyedrops and hand sanitizer in my handbag, but I would love to have a cute little pouch like this to keep it in! Really is a fantastic idea for parents. :D
