NIKE IS NEVER EVER GETTING ONE DOLLAR FROM ME! SO GLAD REVLON DOESN'T PULL THIS CRAP!

Meg here! Hmmm, maybe Chris Brown and Roman Polanski were busy. Are we really so desperate for role models and celebrity that it has come to this Nike?
Good thing this wasn't Jimmy Choo. I'm never in anything less then 3 inches so it's not a huge sacrifice for me to not buy those ugly ass shoes.
Nike has hired Michael Vick to an endorsement deal. No I'm not kidding.
So I'm not buying Nike until they fix this. I'm boycotting. I urge all Meg Heads to as well "JUST DO IT"

You know, it's an ironic thing. My father hated Nike and questioned their ethics years ago..when I was a kid my dad wouldn't let us buy their sneakers. Clearly he was correct. What a bunch of %$@!#'s

Whiskey...Tango...Foxtrot. WTF?Who's the moron who gave that idea the green light? Watch Nike stock go down in response. I sorta need some new running shoes and they will definitely be New Balance this time around!
I hate Roman Polanski. Seriously. He is a convicted child molester who arrogantly believes he is above the law and doesn't deserve to take responsibility for his actions. The NFL really disappointed my when they re-instated Vick. Yes, people deserve second chances in life but the nature of his crimes were very disturbing. A second chance at life but not the privilege of playing in the NFL. No doubt he has gone through a lot mentally and I certainly feel he understands he was wrong. I was equally shocked at Plaxico's sentence, honestly they should have switched the sentences for these two. Don't even get me started on the jaw dropping sentence for Stallworth. Apparently you can kill someone drunk driving and net yourself a cool month sentence. Plaxico Burress did something incredibly stupid and in extremely poor judgment (granted illegal) yet he received the harshest punishment of everyone. Ridiculous.
For those of us down under, who is Michael Vick and what did he do?
He's a football player that got in trouble awhile back for dog fighting.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/17/AR200707...
thanks for the link...how stupid of nike!! I can't see this going well for them
A decision that is as stupid as it is disgusting. The marketing geniuses at Nike must think the American public has a collective case of amnesia. Shame on you, Phil Knight. I'll be boycotting, too.
well i only wear high heels and i dont think i ever owned Nikes so you can count on me :)
Yuck! I think this is a horrible idea on their part, and I hope more people boycott and it bites them in the butt. Just what this jacka$$ needs, more money!
I dont get it... Whats going on with Nike? :S
Oh my goodness - who in their right minds would choose someone like that to endorse a product?I can just see the shares of Nike falling and their sales just plummeting. I am thankful I own no Nike or else I'm pretty sure I'd have to throw it away.
EEEEK!!! I have Nike runners from years ago and I hate to admit it but they are the ones I use when I work out...though they were purchased from a gift certificate given to me (from my dad though and I chose to get runners with it. Heh, I used to be a more conservative shopper) Anyway I don't know if I want to throw up or burn those runners...hmm maybe do both??Meg - I love heels, too bad I couldn't wear them working out haha. I totally wish I had a pair of Jimmy Choo's!
I had no idea who Vick was, but after scanning his story I cannot help but feel sick over the issue. It doesn't even make sense as a marketing strategy - how is his name going to convince potential buyers to support Nike? The company already has its fair share of blunders... why add this "celebrity" endorsement to the list? And I'm so sick of celebrities getting away with... well, murder in some cases. Our judicial system needs to be just as heavy on prolific media figures as it is on the Everyday Citizen.
Up until about a minute ago, I was strictly a Nike buyer. I'm going to switch to Adidas or something now.
My ex boyfriend worked at Nike, and well, my closet is full of their stuff.. Luckily it was all FREE (dont want to say HOW he got it for free, but Im sure most of you know ;) ... ) and Im glad theyre out probably over $10,000 worth of overpriced dry-fit clothing. This disgusts me, and I cant believe they would want someone as disgusting as Michael Vick representing their brand.
What in the %$#@ is Nike thinking??? They need a reality check! I won't be buying any Nikes, that's for sure.

I only wear (mostly old) cowboy boots or heels, depending on my mood, so you will never ever see anything sporty on me anyways. Nike...yike(s)!
Make up your beauty-full mind...www.myspace.com/blackdivaworld
WOW...disappointing. I'll be joining the boycott line as well.
That's really sad. I don't see why a company would want to endorse someone who has a shady past. He's obviously not a good role model either.
I'm lost...whats going on???
OMG serious???? Do they want to comitt business suicide????????????WTF Im tottally outraged!!!!Sign me up for the boycot, seriously ANYONE else would do...I would take the drunk guy at the local bar over micheal vick anyday! We should all send Nike a "friendly" email so they get it through their heads... someone has to read them and reject them.... so someone will get it..

I believe in second chances, but only when penance has been done. I don't think Michael Vick did penance. It was bad enough that his multimillion dollar football career was restored to him so quickly, but for Nike to give him a multimillion dollar endorsement deal to be the face of their brand - what does that say about Nike? "We support animal abusers!" ???So so so wrong. I get that the man had to make a living and that football is all he can do so it would not be fair to keep him from earning money in his chosen career, but I don't agree that it should be like nothing happened. Or that he gets this sort of reward with a huge endorsement deal.
well i quess this is qood news for a.d.i.d.a.s. and new balance!! lol. i NEVER would have fiqured nike would choose vick after all of his neqative publicity. perhaps they thouqht this would "turn thinqs around" for mr. vick.... psh! yeah. riqht.
»smilε :)
WTFI love Nike, and I need a new pair of runners, but I guess Mizuno or Sacony will be getting my $100.Don't even get me started on Roman Polanski and the disgusting reaction from Hollywood in support of that child molester.
Nike what the hell! I'm truly disgusted by Michael Vick. I don't know how this deal went through without a bunch of people thinking about what this would do to their company. There are plenty of other well deserved athletes they could have chosen over him. ugggh!

I will never ever buy anything from them again. In fact we should look to see what other companies Nike owns or who owns Nike and hit them too. Lets all do a little digging and find out. Philladelphia Eagles, thumbs down. Human Society is also going to use this monster to represent them. Did anyone see his comments on Niteline a while back. You can find it on ABC.com

Utterly distasteful. Revolting even.
I've never, ever worn a pair of Nike and never ever will! That is just plain wrong and absolutely, utterly disgusting. I also think they moved their factories to the third world in order to maximise their profit, did they not?
I bought my first pair of Nikes 2 months ago I NEVER wear FLAT SHOES so they have been siting in my closet since !!!!!!
Hollywood http://thehollywoodheels.blogspot.com
count me in! I never cared for Nike nor do I care for Michael Vick!! New Balance tennis shoes go on my feet and when i am home its flip flops/sandals or all-natural (barefoot)
After much search on the internet I am unable to find a petition to boycott Nike over Vick. I would suggest writing an Email/letter to the president of Nike. I am going to keep looking for a petition and if I find one I will post it here. I am outraged with this as everyone is. How is it OK to do wrong and then be able to make millions again? We know right and wrong but the generation that Nike reaches out to is still learning. All these kids out there still want Nikes and when they see that Michael Vick is in the ad they will think that he is cool and will want to be just like him. We can only hope that parents will step up and teach these kids that what he did was wrong!
I am quite glad I no longer love Nikes - I used to wear them in high school all the time, but they were trendier then. I can't believe anyone would let Michael Vick represent anything.
Who needs Nike when you can buy New Balance. My NB running shoes are Awesome and the store even gave suggested models based on the way I walk (I overpronate).
I'm watching HLN right now, and they are saying that Vick's agent made the announcement, and that Nike is saying that it is not true, that they have not re-signed him. I hope that's true. They also said (the agency for Vick) that the negative reaction to the Eagles signing him was not as bad as they had anticipated, which makes me sad.
http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2009/10/01/sports/sports-us-nike-vick.htmlNike is totally denying any contracts...I think it's more of a case of "wishful thinking" on his rep's part?I hope so because I wear their "Shox" and "Musica" shoes all the time...:(
Okay, just heard an update, Nike is saying that they are only "supplying him with equipment", which to me, is an endorsement. And we should all shop at Dick's Sporting Goods, because they are refusing to carry Eagles mdse. anymore, since the Eagles signed Vick.
I just saw on my homepage that they were denying signing him for an endorsement as well. I didn't read the article, though. I also saw where Dick's said they weren't selling his jersey at any of their stores. It sounds like some companies know better and are trying to avoid getting his name tangled with theirs.
Honestly this doesnt suprise me, but still, how crazy!!! Guess I will get a different brand nxt time I need shoes!!! :(
Well I'm so glad I don't buy Nike now !!!!
So....commit a heinous crime, get hardly any jail time, immediately get your job back with a SEVEN figure salary, and get a bonus of millions more just because you said you were sorry in public...Here's an idea...when this happens in the real world, to real people with real jobs....then I'll buy Nike.
That's ridiculous. I don't even want to wear the pair I own (and its super cute!!). Oh well theres always puma!
thanks for the heads up-no nike for me!!!! this is not going to go well for them!!!
The last couple of pairs of Shox that I bought literally fell apart (with casual wear), so I no longer buy their overpriced shoes anyway. BUT I can't believe that they think this is a good idea. Yes, Vick paid his debt to society and all that, and he does have the right to make a living, as do all criminals who serve their time. However, I do not believe that he deserves to get paid millions of dollars to play in the NFL, which puts him in the position of being a role model and having power of influence over other people. This definitely sets a bad example. He can earn his living making minimum wage like everyone else. Of course, this is just my humble opinion.
: ( how dare they condone his previous actions. this is despicable!
i heard about nike re-signing michael vick and it's disgusting! michael vick is a sad sad human being. i cannot believe that they would even think about signing him.
I don't really wear nike anyways after I heard that they still use sweat shops in poorer countries.
I have been a long-time eagles fan but i have chosen to choose my love of pets over my love of sports. I have written letters to the philadelphia eagles organization, turkey hill (eagles sponsor), Pepsi (eagles sponsor), and a few other companies. I have decided to boycott these companies and the eagles organization. I ask all of you to please email, call, write any/all of the above and ask them to please choose animals over sports. Below are some addresses etc... please everyone call or write.....thankshttp://swoosh.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/swoosh.cfg/php/enduser/ask.phpJeanne P. Jackson

I'm with connemara22, I went over to the Nike website and did some Nike bashing. Time to head over to the Pepsi and Turkey Hill website! I can't believe any NFL team would even want his name associated with their team. The worst part is, I heard that the crowd cheered when he headed out on to the field.
Wow! That literally makes me sick. Chris Brown, Roman Polanski AND Kanye West are literally pieces of scum but I really hope there is a special place in Hell for men like Michael Vick, who use and abuse animals or beings that cannot take a stand for themselves. Animals are never bad, its their owners who turn them into fighters. Is there anything we can do about this? Petition or write letters to anyone who can help put a stop to this?????

I personally don't like Nike's ethics full-stop. Child labour? I say NO.
