WINE WIPES!

Sun, 09/27/2009 - 8:42pm
  • Mondays With Meg
  • Miscellaneous

Meg here! When we had our writers retreat weekend we really needed it to be somewhere fun and fabulous and a quick ride to several wineries! When Megken had a film in the San Louis Obispo film festival he let me have his goodybag. Inside the bag were a bunch of cool things but I zoomed right in on a round package that read Wine Wipes. You know I like my red wines, or as I call it "fight in a bottle."  Teeth become more porous after drinking red wine and dentists do not recommend brushing your teeth right after a lot of red.

I popped the wine wipes right in my purse and thought how genius! Red wine can leave my teeth with a wonderful purple hue. Purple hues are great for fall! Just not on your teeth. After a night of many pinot noirs  I put my Wine Wipes to the test. They have an easy screw off top and inside are moist round wipes, there is a mirror on the inside cover for easy navigation. The wipes are comprised of a citrus scent and made up of stain-removing and teeth protecting ingredients. One swipe and the nasty wine film is all gone and you're good to go!

I contacted Kimberly once we figured out we would be staying in San Louis Obispo. We had a lot of wine tastings ahead at the Donati Vineyard and I knew that the ladies would love to have Wine Wipes in their purses. None of our glamorous gang would want to have grape stained grins! We had pictures to take! Kiss

Not only did Kimberly hook us up with the Wine Wipes-she invited us to come to her beautiful Granada Bistro to have some vino and put our wine wipes to the test. The Granada Bistro was something out of an old Parisian movie. It's a small sexy little wine and tapas bistro. It really is the perfect venue to meet up with your girls or have a romantic interlude.

Watch the video and let us know what you think of wine wipes! We love them!

You are soo cute Meg.   And I agree "Who doesn't finish the bottle of wine?"  Also, thanks for the ad on Facebook.  I don't know how you find time to be so amazing to all of us followers, but I applaud you for it.   And your posts always make me smile. :)

1, 2 or 12! Hahaha.I have heard of these before and read heaps and heaps of good testimonials and feedback on them. They seem like such a fantastic idea, and I would certainly use them; however I don't drink red, I am much more of a champagne lover and I haven't managed to stain my teeth with that yet! (Aus drinking age is 18 for anyone concerned about that!) :)I'd never heard about not brushing your teeth after that either. Is that the same with other wines?? If I ever develop a love for a red I'll be definately getting a packet of them!

Well I didn't know red wine stained your teeth as I don't drink it, so seeing how I don't drink alcohol at all I won't be needing these but I think they are a great idea for those who do !!!

Must admit that is not a particular problem I have ever expired (luckily) but then I don't really like red wine so that might be the reason (a sin, I know!). There's just one kind I like and can drink without food, Vranac. However, these wipes seem nice. Wonder if they work against other kind of drink stains too? There are such a lot of things that can stain ones teeth, after all.Oh, and that review is just the cutest I've seen in a long time. :)

amazing! I don't drink much red but we go wine tasting about once or twice a year, and for those couple of days I drink enough wine to last me all year. I would love to have these on me so I don't walk around with purple teeth for two days. I can't wait to buy some.

That is a really cool idea. Most occasions that involve me drinking red wine also involve photos being taken, and who wants to look like they've been making out with Grimus from McD's? Really cool idea.

Greetings ladies from the blond at the end of this video, participating in the toast to Wine Wipes with Meg! I was there and experienced first hand what a little marvel this product is! I'm not a huge red wine drinker (it seems to trigger my asthma) so I stick to white 99% of the time. I was very intrigued with these wipes however and did some research of my own! I read everything I could about them and learned that...”the staining did not come back after the following glass of wine so you don't have to keep running out and wiping your teeth, the glycerin in the wipes actually prevents further staining. Teeth can stain not only from wine but also from from tea, coffee and soft drinks. So these wipes are handy for everyone. They are made from a combination of baking soda, salt, hydrogen peroxide, calcium, glycerin and flavored with orange blossom.”
What I was thinking about is this...you know how kids LOVE grape juice (as do I) well...99% of the time your kids or yourself end up with purple teeth and purple lips from grape juice – I would love to know from the parents out there, if these lovely Wine Wipes would help with that?!!!! Or how many times have you been sitting in your back yard in the summer sucking down purple Popsicles and your friends stop by and immediately are bent over from the waist with laughter after seeing your purple near death lips and teeth!! Again, I'd love to hear if these Wine Wipes can help with that! I bet they totally can! Mom's will be wanting these big time too!
The makers of these Wine Wipes are extremely clever in their marketing! On the back of the container it says “Just because you are a Borracha doesn't mean you have to look like one!” How funny is that? I had to look the word Borracha up because it's not a word I have used regularly by any means and the dictionary definition is “ drunken, inebriated, intoxicated, boozy (Slang) drunkard, one who is addicted to alcohol” I think that covers red wine lovers!
P.S. The Granada Bistro was absolutely divine! The ambiance of this tiny little environment just transports you instantly to another place and time where intimacy prevails! There were cozy little tables for two or in our case more, and the items they serve on the menu ... well the presentation is absolutely beautiful and the taste factor of the items we got to sample - magnificent! If you live anywhere near this Bistro, listen carefully to these words....GO THERE!!!!! It's just such a lovely place and the customer service they provide is as lovely as the food and atmosphere!
I realize this was a long follow-up but ladies, there just was a lot of good things to say about these Wine Wipes! Bonus item...when you have used up all the wipes, the wonderful container serves well as a handy pill tote for your purse! The top screws on and off so the contents of the container always remain safe! You could also easily hide your rhinestone encrusted eye patch in the empty container for those nights you go out to bars to drink red wine and yet remain anonymous!

:) We had SOOOOOO much this this evening! Let me fill in some blanks: strutting down the street in San Luis Obispo with Robyn whose legs literally stop traffic with us all decked out in PINK! "Granada" wine bar was an absolute delight and as classy/cool as it gets! We had maybe 3 bottles of some of THE best reds ever before this was filmed...sittin' between Eleni, whom I adore because she is THE most hysterical girl ever and Meg who is well....MEG....need I say more??? Ken kept telling us to "be serious" and not only were we on the way to a buzz but who can be SERIOUS when you're wiping your teeth??? HAHAHA! We were choking with laughter while Meg was doing her promo, trust me! :)The evening proceeded to go uphill/downhill from there: dinner in THE gaudiest dining-hall ever at Madonna Inn (food however was good) and then dancing....ever see a rather plain desperate man almost lose his mind when Meg's strapless frock threatened to drop???? We laughed so hard I think there was pee involved....it isn't over yet: how about a ride up the hill (because we were all too  vain/messed up to walk in shoes!) proceeded by dirty-dancing in the parking lot???The wine wipes....they are an amazing niche-item that TRULY work and well! I also discovered they are great for red lipstick on the the teeth too!!!Truly a product for everyone and I see great success for the company!!!

So I had to buy these because they are the perfect thing for me and my family, and the copious amounts of wine we consume. They are salty and each pad seems like it is very wet, seems like too much on each one but they do really work. Really! It also helped to remove the wine "mustache," kind of like the kool aid mustache but much more embarassing. Anyways, this is something I never would have thought of but we all enjoyed using them and the faces we made from the salty taste.
