DAVIES GATE! BUCKWHEAT BUFFING SOAP FOR FEET!
Jeanasina here! Ladies! It's Tuesday night and I am going to have a very exciting evening because, I have here, in my hand, Davies Gate BUCKWHEAT buffing soap for Feet!
So..the reality is, that Meg sends me, in a special envelope new fabulous products.! When I look in the envelope, it's usually THE WORDS on the packages like,“stimulating” “tantalizing” “dreamy” firming” “uplifting, even... “tight” that make me reach for those products in particular! So just know, that in peering into my special package of delightful products, not EVER, would the first thing I pick up, be a product that has the word BUCKWHEAT in capital letters on the side!
None-the-less...here I am, about to have one on one time with the Davies Gate BUCKWHEAT buffing soap for feet. My feet are all but jumping up and down on their own in anticipation of getting some attention in the next few minutes. My feet never get any attention – sometimes I will put lotion all over my entire body but I skip my feet! How mean is that? The feet have to feel like crap about life. Anyway...tonight it's about my feet! BUCKWHEAT and my feet are about to become intimate companions.
The soap comes in a box and you need an 'implement' to open the strong seal on the box if you are old. Don't put the implement down, you have some indestructible shrink-wrap to try to remove also – you'll need the implement, unless you have nails or teeth. “Holy crap on the fragrance!” Wow!– If you hold it up to your nose and inhale deeply you will totally clear your sinuses! And then...you'll want to smell it again! The smelling...it doesn't stop! – the desire to keep inhaling that absolutely-pleasant-smelling-soap is overwhelmingly compelling!
First piece of advice I am going to give to you IS this...you have to PROMISE your one foot that FOR SURE you are going to do the same stuff he just sat watching you do to your other foot! Its just not right if you only try a product on ONE foot right? You know? That's just wrong and unfair to one or the other of your feet!
Well my first foot would like you to know it really enjoyed being worked over with my slathered up BUCKWHEAT hands!! Matter of fact, my foot didn't want me to stop! I massaged the soap back and forth on my foot and it felt SO good - not uncomfortably abrasive! Finally, forcing myself to stop, I rinsed off the soap and dried my foot. My foot felt hydrated all on it's own! My scruffy tough textured heels felt soft and like somebody just pampered them! My other foot is letting me know that it's waiting patiently for it's turn with the BUCKWHEAT soap for feet!
Did I mention this soap is only $5.99! For just $5.99 you could experience what I have described above and who wouldn't want to do that? Here's what the description says...”Reveal soft and smooth feet when polishing heels, calluses and areas where there is a build-up of extra skin with this foot soap. Ground Walnut shells, Buckwheat hulls, Loofah and Volcanic pumice provide an intense polishing treatment for your feet. The natural freshness of Peppermint essential oil invigorates tired feet and helps improve circulation.”
Have a look at their website. If you are in the habit of being nice to your feet, you'll want to buy some of this!

Wow sounds nice! I should rec this to my mom who has issues with her feet with calluses. I don't do anything fancy for my feet (I really should) and I've never had a pedicure but I do paint my toe nails regularly.
Wow this would be a nice product to use so my feet can be nice and smooth...
sounds good to me! I love getting foot scrubs at the salon, but $5.99 is cheaper than a pedicure, and I don't really need another excuse to pop into Ulta, so I just might!
This sounds like it's fun to use! I recently discovered Revlon's version of the pedi-egg, and without that, my feet would be one giant callus. It's seriously the one miracle product I have to have.

Fabulous review and it's a great line too! I didn't find it "scrubby" enough for me but the scent and texture are fabulous! However....don't laugh....I do Mike's feet for him,it's a fun little Sunday night ritual we share and he LOVES it when I scrub and rub his tootsies. Usually it's good for something or make than anything I might want for a few days as well. :)He really liked it and I have just the perfect use for the bar now! One of my pet peeves these day is as you describe, the need to be a safecracker to break into modern packaging,LOL! :)
The bottoms of my feet have been quite a mess lately. My current foot ritual is to sand down my callouses with a pumice stone from Tweezerman and slather on a thick body butter after my daily shower. The Davies Gate soap sounds great -- looking forward to checking it out.
My feet are ravaged most of the time, due to living in such a hot and humid climate and often not wearing shoes or opting for flip-flops 365 days a year. :|I use LUSH Pied De Pepper in Winter as a moisturising treat under socks. One night with this foot mask is usually enough to dissolve months of damage. But, in the Summery months [like now, it's Spring but hot enough to be called Summer in most places!] I have a hole in my foot beauty regime. It's simply too hot to wear socks, in bed or otherwise. Cue this buckwheat soap, and by joves we might have a winner!EDIT: Except for the fact that ULTA.com does not ship to international locations. Ohhhh wellllll. Back to the drawing board for me!
Mmm that sounds so good! My feet need some TLC right now, I've been neglecting them ever since school started!
yea i definately need to give my feet some tlc and this product sounds awesome....i love to walk around barefoot at home so i need to take care of my feet
Since I am no longer home much in the winter I don't get dry cracked feet. And I know some people get dry heels from wearing sandals and flipflips but I don't really. So my pedicure ritual is pretty much just polish and done. This sounds like a great product to use on dry feet. I know when I did have problems nothing would help, no cream or lotion seemed to make a difference. Maybe when I am done school in the Caribbean and head back to the Great White North I will keep this product in mind if my dry winter heels return.
i always leave out my feet too! poor feet :( this sounds lovely! I like to use sugar scrubs on my feet (you know the ones that come in sets at christmas-the ones that leave a layer of oil on your skin...yep i hate those but i cant bare to throw stuff out- so i use them on my feet)-lovely jubbly!
Sounds good. I usually leave out one side two. Especially with nail polish, I spend so much time on one hand and completely slack off with the other. I have pretty dry feet, and I tried the Body Shop's Peppermint Foot Scrub. The smell is very stong (as peppermint is), but it works really well and makes my feet feel soft.
I will never go back to diy pedicures. Ever since I upgraded from the $25 basic pedicure to the $50 deluxe spa pedicure, my feet have no calluses, after only 3 sessions! And I run around in bare feet every day, every season, so for my feet to look decent, it takes a lot of work. But if I was totally opposed to spending the money on my feet, I would def. get something like this, I've had this type of soaps before, the only thing is that they are never rough enough to do the job.
i need this. i hope someone stuffs my stocking with it this christmas!
My feet could definitely use some pampering, Can I get this at Ulta?
ohhh, I want this! I am hard on my feet and they need a little TLC!
I am SO intrigued! I wear flip flops far more than I should so my feet are pretty scaly right now and they really need help! I have to say though I am a big fan of the Ped Egg--it really does work! :)
I must admit that I don't really take care of my feet at all, it's not something I put in my curriculum, just clip the toe nails and every 2 months or so reapply a coat of nail polish. I should probably start taking better care of my feet with some pampering, but it really escapes my memory!

I have never heard of this! It sounds amazing...and for less than $6 OMG! My achy feet say thank you very much!!! I swear it, ever since I found Meg's, I have learned of the most amazing products that I probably would never have heard about...this is just one example! I can't wait to pick up this amazing soap...I wear heels all the time and my feet are not happy...time for some happy feet! ♥
"Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones..."
Meg gave me this! It's really fab! I love the smell. It's minty and fresh. Also, it feels GREAT on the feet.
This sounds like bliss!! Can i have :D
"The feet have to feel like crap about life." Hahahahaha. That is so true. I abuse my poor little feeta and don't give them much love. I also dance ballet and they cop even more abuse that way :(I don't really have much of a routine but when I give my feet some attention I generally use a ped-egg (an Avon version) with some Fair Trade Foot Lotion from Lush. I used to use Lush's Running For the Embassy which it seems to be a little like the buckwheat buffing soap but with peppermint oil, and crushed aduki beans. It was pretty damn good.Bring Davies Gate to Australia! (I think I am saying this most posts.... must stop complaning!)
ooh what a deal! I neglect my feet too :( And I wear flip flops alot so they get beat up and dried out and exposed to stuff...Plus.. people can see them!! EEEEKK!sounds like a good item!I will take a pumice to my feet in the shower but its so rough and really doesnt help your feet all that much.may have to try this!

Sounds very interesting. I'm so nasty to my feet, they rarely get much attention. I really should take better care of them. I have something like a ped egg, maybe I should get it out tonight...
Eh I hate me feet, always so dry and yuky! I should get something like this it sounds delightful ;)
I use the ped egg when i remember too. My issues are when i wear boots, my heels get so cracked and painful but i find if i use the ped egg often, this stops it from happening. I used to adore a product similar to this from avon years ago but they discontinued it. Sob.
This sounds like just the thing I've been looking for. Soap and exfoliation for feet in one! I have to take care of my feet religiously, you see, or I get calluses even if wearing my Dr. Scholl shoes (my feet are badly, badly designed) so one step less is always welcome. And at the moment, a soap that could rinse my sinuses would not be all bad either. *snivell* ;)
I'm going to recommend this to my mom who has really dry, cracked heels and also lives in a very dry climate so she is constantly looking for another miracle product and is let down :( I on the other hand have aso had dry cracked feet, especially in that climate but I use a pumice stone everyday in the shower religiously.... thus adding more time to my shower routine whew! And after the shower I immediately put lotion on my feet, sometimes adding Vaseline and really rubbing it in. I really liked this review and its definitely something I can apply to my everyday routine and hopefully *fingers crossed* it works for my mom
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough
Mmm, this sounds so much comfortable than just using a pumice stone. And I always forget to use it, though when I do it I sleep with my feet full of cream and my socks on.
because i'm wearing flip flops almost 365 days of the year, my feet become a bit abused so once in awhile i have to really take of my feet. Meg sent this out to my sister and we opened the box and smelled it right away. It smells soooo good! I would want one of these unused just for the scent when i'm suffering from nasal congestion or something because that peppermint oil is strong enough to penetrate. i've only tried it in the shower twice but so far it's been kind to my feet. it's not too rough but it's got good abrasive power.

Ooh, this looks good! I so need to pamper my feet more. I have a scrub and a lotion, but I don't use them nearly enough! My poor feet. I'm sure they hate me.
I pretty much never do anything with my feet!! Except when i have to go some where that involves open toes shoes ill get a pedi cure!! This sounds nice my feet are in NEED of something!! 5.99 is a awesome price!! Tell your feet thank you for taking one for the team! Iam sure it was hard work! =P
I'm kinda scared to use this kind of stuff. I have really sensitive skin so anything thats really rough gives me a crazy irritation. Anyone with sensitive skin tried this yet? How did it go?

Oh, I am so mean to my feet. I remember to show them some love every once in a while but not often enough. I really want to give this a try. When I do pamper my feet, I use a pumice scrub and my pedi egg (which I will never go without).
this is one of the gifts i got from meg! thanks again meg! and i love this product. the smell is wonderful and the soap itself works wonders. the scrub is not so harsh so it wont damage your foot! i highly recommend it.
I generally ignore my feet. Poor things, they get no love. I'm surprised they haven't walked off the job and gone on strike. :) I love the tingle that peppermint oil gives, especially when it's in a foot product. It makes my tootsies feel all cool and refreshed. When I do a pedicure, I use my Ped Egg (it rocks) on my heels and calluses and sometimes I scrub the rest. St. Ives is actually a pretty good foot scrub (I was out of anything else) cause it's really scrubby and rough. This soap sounds really really good. If I could scrub and clean and cool and refresh all at once, that would be nice...Thanks Jeanasina, for being our fearless footsie tootsie tester.
I am always self conscious about going to the spa and getting my feet done, there is just something weird about it for me. i am going to try this asap
I'm like Tiffany. It makes me uncomfortable to have someone washing my feet or something. Oddly enough, I have more of a pedi ritual during the winter since it feels like more of a treat. This product sounds amazing and it may be what I need for my winter pedi rotation. Currently I use epsom salts and whatever bath and body works lotion I have around.
I love the smell of wheat - or is it oats? Thus, aveeno = greatest lotion ever! I do hope I get this!
I don't have major skin issues on my feet. I know I should be taking care them by exfoliating and moisturizing but I'm too lazy about it!
Meg gave this to me!!! I haven't used it though because I just received my package. I'll definitely use this tonight, my feet do need a bit of pampering.
I love foot scrubs and to have a bar soap that would do this and hydrate my feet would be amazing. I will have to look for this next time I go to Ulta. $5.99 is cheap! So my nightly shower foot cleaning ritual is to pre wash with a bar of soap, then scrub down with a foot scrub and then hydrate with lots of lotion and socks to hold it in. I love soft, clean feet.
right now i just use body wash with sea salt in it for my feet or a pumice stick......this sounds waaay more exciting though
this sounds good. i just use the same scrub that i do with the rest of my body because i haven't found anything exceptional for feet. I like to use the ped-egg once a week or so - depending on what type of footwear torture devices i put myself through :)lotion your feet girl! i hate when my feet are dry and start to look chalky and dry. lately, if i skip out on the lotion i start to get insane itching because of the dryness... my feet have become divas!
