MY REVITALASH EYELASH CONDITIONER HOME EXPERIMENT! DOES IT REALLY WORK?
Kellie76 here! Approximately two months ago I began my RevitaLash journey with curiosity, hope, and of course trepidation. I have to tell you that my skeptic radar was on high alert for this product. But for the greater good, i.e. all of you, I decided to find out, "Does it really work?"
For those of you who don't know, RevitaLash Eyelash Conditioner was created by Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff for his wife who was recovering from breast cancer. This labor of love was designed to improve the quality of her lashes which were damaged from chemotherapy. Seldom do you find a product that was created with such good intentions. The company even does one better by donating a portion of their proceeds to breast cancer research and education.
According to the company, "RevitaLash is a unique eyelash conditioner that will help you achieve the natural beauty of Longer, Thicker, Fuller looking eyelashes. A very small amount of RevitaLash is applied once a day. No matter how brittle, short, fragile, thin, or sparse your eyelashes are, RevitaLash can help you achieve your very own long, beautiful, healthy looking lashes."
I would like to make it clear that I have never had particularly sparse lashes. I would say that my lashes have always been normal or average. So I was not sure of what I could expect when I started this process almost two months ago. I have used this product faithfully every night during this time period. The directions suggest that you apply a very thin layer to your upper lash line. So being a somewhat good student I have only been using this on my upper lash line. But I also know that some people apply a layer to the lower lash line as well. I cannot stress enough to you all the importance of applying a very thin layer of the product. I experienced some mild irritation when I first started using the product. But I feel strongly that this was because I used too much. As soon as I started using less, the irritation subsided. A lighter hand will also extend the product to give you more bang for your buck!
I feel that I can say with certainty that this product does really work. But I think that just like anything on the market it works differently for different people. My theory is that because I started with fairly normal lashes I did not experience dramatic results. But I did have an overall positive experience with this product and would definitely purchase it if my lashes need a boost. I have experienced at least a minor increase in overall lash length. I feel that it is not incredibly visible in the photos mainly because the tips of my lashes are somewhat blonde. But the length increase is much more obvious when I wear a bit of mascara. I feel that the major fringe benefits that I have received from my RevitaLash usage are thicker, fuller, and stronger lashes. In my opinion I do show an increase in thickness and fullness. And I lose less random lashes now then I ever have.
Based on anecdotal accounts that I have read, many people experience results similar to my own, just as many people experience even far more dramatic results. It is also important to realize that any product can have side effects. RevitaLash is no exception to this rule. Some people will have side effects while others will not. I am typically very sensitive to products and often have reactions. But happily the only problem that I encountered with this product was from my own incorrect usage. This quickly subsided when I followed the directions and used the appropriate amount. I really recommend researching the product ingredients to make sure that you have no known allergies or objections to anything on the list.
The bottom line is that I especially recommend RevitaLash if you have skimpy or damaged lashes. This has the potential to really make a huge difference. The key is to stick with it over time and to closely follow directions. If you do this you may be very pleasantly surprised by the results. And if you are normally a drugstore deal kind of a gal don't let the luxury price of this item necessarily deter you. When used correctly, one tube can last for 3-5 months, which could break down to under $1.00 a day. Ultimately, this is not a lot to pay for the immense pleasure of batting your eyelashes to get what you want!

WOW. $150 is out of my price range, but once I start working again (who knows when that might be), I will DEFINITELY pick some up.
Glad to know it actually works! I won't be buying it though since I don't really have any issues with my eyelashes and it sounds a bit too expensive.

i would be afraid to use that product but im also afraid that with so much mascara use, id lose my own beautiful, full lashes. if im ever in that situation, i might turn to this product tho

The product did work well but I don't think your lashes were bad to begin with! I think the price is a little excessive, maybe it will come down with time. At $150 if I needed this product I don't think I could justify the cost.
I think I might drop off your review and product information to Sammons Cancer Center here in Dallas and at some of the local wig shops. I'll pass this info along to www.healthboards.com for the cancer groups. I'm sure there are cancer support groups on www.meetup.com too. I also, know of a woman who makes the cutest hats for cancer patients. I'm sure she will be happy to hear about this amazing product.http://www.fatthumb.com/page/page/4397096.htm This is a fabulous site worth looking at for anyone. It only takes one person to make a difference in someones life and Michele Hirata does that. You can make a difference too! : )

I was wondering how this was going the other day.Wow pricey product.... but im so obsessed with lashes.......Gosh everything boils down to whether or not the plasma center opens back up!! that was my sounce of spending money and now its gone and im suffereing the consequences!!!Wasnt Meg-Ken gonna try this on his hair????
Tan is Love
Very cool info about the origin of the product--the creator, as a husband, is a real keeper!!!
I like the story behind this products. Products that were created for a good cause definitely make me more interested in trying a product.I have pretty decent lashes, but I'd love to try something like Revitalash. Unfortunately, I don't really have the funds for something like that right now, but maybe eventually. Your lashes look totally incredible, by the way. They're so long!
I'm glad I am not in need of this product, because I don't think I could justify the price. I love that her husband cared enough to help his wife with her situation. Very sweet!
This is so far out of my budget that I can't even think of giving it a try. It appeared to work a little for you, but I don't know if it did $1 a day's worth of growth. You should have taken a picture in the start of you with just mascara and had that to compare. It would have been interesting.
Beste Hilsin
how can you tell if it works,as bthe picture on the right is more magnified?????????????????????????
that is one expensive lash growth, my friend used another brand (the name escapes me) but it was under $10 and made her lashes grow.I'm very skeptical about these lash growth products, mainly because I have relatively sensitive skin and i've seen some lash growth serum gone wrong pictures, one of the utube guru had her eyes swollen. it looked dreadful. I also agree with about, it's hard to tell from the photo since they're taken from a different distance and angle.

That's a little prizey for me, I'll rather use castor oil every night for my eyelashes.
Thanks so much for the review and the pictures! I have been curious about this product for awhile...but I think it's still a bit pricey for me. Hopefully the price will come down a bit. It is nice to know the company was founded out of love and caring...that is always a plus! Well if he economy gets any better I will dive this a try! Thanks again for the review and pics! ♥

Well from the photo's it definately worked,I like the fact that it made the lashes thicker as well as longer as it thicker lashes Im looking for-it seems a lot less hassle for anyone that uses falsies or gets lash extensions.

The pictures were taken quite awhile apart. So I apologize that the magnification was not the exact same. Bad husband! The one on the left was taken at two weeks in. The one on the right was taken at about the two month mark. They were at least both the same eye. I don't think that it matters that much in the grand scheme of things. I was honest in saying that I did not get a lot of new length that is visible in a picture. What I got was more thickness and strength. I think that a closer photo lets you see some of the thickness. But I really did do my best. I apologize for the lack of precision. I have never taken "before and after" photos before. If I did something like this again I would write down the exact magnification of every photo. I really do apologize. And to be fair most of the reviews on here come from people's opinions not pictures. So please only evaluate my experiences with the product if you feel that my pictures are faulty. And as far as the cost goes I do not think that it is a lot for someone who really has a problem with their lashes. If you have the means, a lash conditioner may be a genuine miracle for you. But of course I do not suggest buying something out of your budget. One woman's miracle, must have product is another's waste of money. I try not to judge! And Amazon is currently selling this product also. Check it out-you may be surprised.
ive read alot about this and also watched a series of youtubes by a girl called lollipop who showed me beyond a doubt that this does work- you have just also confirmed this so i have no doubts at all.. but I dont feel it is worth the money for me- so expensive! esp since my lashes are an ok length- kinda like your before pic.- im just gonna buy the lash lengthening mascaras instead. Totally tempted though!!!! What girl wouldnt love longer lashes! maybe one day when im rich :)

I am SO glad this has positive results kellie! I see where products such as this CAN be life-changing for many people...people who get sick, have chronic illness or are on meds that result in hair loss.I know that when I had to take those nasty,heavy,steroid-meds for asthma,my hair came out in clumps at one point :(The pricing is comprable to "Latisse" without the potential dire side effects of a higher concentration. I believe, the only dif is that Allergan got a patent on the product (rumor has it they went after it BECAUSE the Revitalash folks were getting such positive results with their product and THEY wanted to cash in claiming it was a "non-approved drug"...FDA/drug companies=ho's,sorry.I have no personal use for either...) so I give mad-props to Revitalash for their discovery, their morality, and the fact that the company continues to do well in spite of it all. I fully support Revitalash and tell everyone I know to "try them first" before getting a script for "Latisse..." They discovered this technology and IMHO,they deserve to profit! My lashes are long and full BUT I know many whose are not and this would make a great and considerate gift for them as well. :)
Great review kellie! And HUGE kudos to you for taking one for the Meghead team and sticking with your regimen for 2 months. Now, that is stamina! Your lashes look gorgeous (before and after). I wish that I could justify the price for Revitalash. My lashes are thin, but not to the point where I would need to spend the money on Revitalash or Latisse to enhance. With the invention of eye lash primers, I am satisfied with my lashes as they are for now. But, that could change in the future and I am glad to know that products out there exist.
Kellie, I admire persistence and am so happy to see it has paid off. As you may recall, I get the long, lush effect I want with either of my two BPFs -- that's Best Products Forever -- Urban Decay's Eyelash Primer and Divaderme's Lash Extender. Used before or after applying mascara, I'm set. But I know at least two girlfriends who cannot abide mascara but would love this product to make their own lashes longer and fuller. And my haircutter has been using Revitalash for three months and claims she can't wear her eyeglasses anymore without having to push away the long, longer, longest new growth. So kudos to you, Kellie. I believe!
Thank you for this review. I have pretty full lashes already, but they could always be improved upon! These lash enhancers worry me a little bit because of the possible side effects... and of course the price. But I'm glad that Revitalash worked for you!
Wow that's a lot of money I'm so glad I'm not in need of it either as I couldn't afford it !!
Kellie! I love this column, Does it really work? I ask myself this about every single time I buy something. While personally I have long lashes, I am glad to know that this is an effective option for those who need help in this area.I can't wait to hear what you write about next! :)
I have been using Latisse for about 13 weeks now. They say full results can be expected by week 16. My lashes have gotten very, very long. I have pretty sparse lashes and tend to lose them a lot when I wear mascara. The Latisse did not put an end to the lash loss, but there seems to be plenty of lash growth now to replace any loss. It actually makes some of the tiny corner lashes freakishly long, although this is probably only noticible to me when I am inches from the mirror. At this point, in week thirteen I am about a third of my way through my third bottle, so the cost is a little less than $92 a month. The length is amazing and with mascara on they definitely look like false lashes, but I was hoping for a bit more natural fullness. I have very fine lashes and hair. Although the Latisse gave me incredibly long lashes, my only complaint is that they don't look fuller with out mascara. I'll probably keep using it, it would be kind of hard to go back to my thin short lashes after having these.

...Id be scared to put anything near my eyes lol
If I made more money, I'd totally try just. It just seems overpriced to me.
Wow, I'm so impressed that this product actually worked! I can definitely see it's going to brighten the lives of a lot of ladies and perhaps men who have been affected by conditions that impact on their lashes. What a great review, thank you!
I've never tried this product. But for those who can't afford it, try using castor oil, it works... Apparently
I wouldn't consider this because of price right now, but knowing why this was created really sticks out in my mind. Maybe someday I'll give it a shot. I know I'll definitely remember the product now though!
That's quite a steep price to fork out at once but if I had skimpy lashes I think after reading this review it would be worth every penny!
I am currently using Latisse and I am in your same boat with the sparse eyelashes. I also thought about tracking my growth but I haven't. I have noticed a difference in their length and amount. It is by Rx only and is also pricey. Thanks for this review, its something I can really relate to!
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough
there's more and more of these types of products coming out. i'm very glad. the only thing i'm not happy about is the price. i'll wait a little and maybe they'll create an affordable alternative. but i did hear that these eyelash products do work.
I would definitely be interested in trying products like these(if it werent for the price) Glad you had a good experience with it! Also like the background info on the product!
I'm pretty convinced that this stuff works. I saw a video on youtube a few months ago with before and after pictures and a review of this, and I was hooked in! Too bad this is way out of my price range though. I know a cheaper alternative is castor oil. It's just as effective, and works the same way. Just take an unused mascara wand from Sephora or something, and brush the oil through your eyelashes before you go to bed. I think vitamin E oil might work as well, but I'm not sure.
OMG!!! This stuff is amazing! Due to a thyroid condition, my hair has thinned considerably. I've since seen my Doctor for medication and she reccommended this product. It works!!! I researched hair re-growth products extensively and they're all a bit pricey! This is worth every penny!!! I highly recommend it...
Yikes. $$$$$. Too rich for my blood! I'll head over to an overseas pharmacy site. j/k.
ohh Great so it work !!! Cool i hope i can tried someday !!!
awwww what a sweety her husband is!!! It makes me want to go out and buy it just because of its start up story! i read on youtube "You can also go to alldaychemists . com and the generic brand for latisse is called careprost (has same ingredients as latisse and lumigan) and it cost $10 plus $24 for shipping" i think thats a pretty good deal cmpared to the price tag o these other products hth
Is this the stuff that can change your eye color?
Oh man, I really want his product. My eye lashes are ok, but I would never dare leave my house without adding mascara. I want long thick lashes! For these kind of improvements, $150 is totally worth it to me...now I just have to convince my hubby. Thanks for the review...I've been waiting for one.

Thanks for the very informative review, I will definitely recommend this to people who have cancer or very sparse lashes.
I'm currently using Lashfood, I'd say it does work but of course the more dramatic results will come after I've finished the tube.
Wow you really can see the difference! I have to commend you kellie76 because I would never try anything like this, sometimes I'm afraid to put on eyeliner with a shaky hand! You can really see how your lash line is thicker, the base is full, and lashes are a tinsey bit longer. I can see it kellie!I would love something to make my lashes long and loveable but to much of a chicken shit :( . My problem is my bottom lashes because for some reason even after I curl them and put mascara they are always petrified straight and make me look wide-eyed(not in good way)!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
out of my prince range as well! but i can see the difference.
Thanks for the review. I have been interested in trying this but it is out of my price range for now. Plus I can use mascara to achieve the results I want. :)
$150 is too much, I have thick lashes and thus could never justify spending that much for a 'boost'.
I have been looking into getting some of this. Thank you so much for reviewing. Great post!
I love this product, it worked well for me and even for the price I think it's worth it. It lasted me for over a year and I'm still using it!
I didn't ever use such products because I like my lashes the way they are. Even though this product is pricey I'm glad it works for most of the ladies who use it.
I'm so glad this works for people and it's great to see the pics. It only worked a little bit for me but my lashes but I think people with skimpier lashes get more of a benefit.
