JOSIE MARAN! LIP PLUMPING GLOSSES!
Sweetassgal here wondering how some things come to be a part of our daily lives just because someone had the idea to reach under a chicken, crack open whatever comes out of its butt and fry it up to eat! Think about this. At some point in the history of the world someone looked at a bunch of moldy souring milk and thought "hey...I think I'll eat that!" and the miracle that is cheese was born. A person decided to throw a little yeast in with fermented grape juice and VOILA...we have wine!
Yet another decided to pry open an oyster and wear its spherical contents around their neck to introduce the world to the glorious pearl necklace! Throughout history experiences have been had that not only profoundly enriched our lives but change the way we look for beauty in unusual places.
So where am I going with this? I have been introduced to a woman and a beauty line that I feel is comparable to the discovery of the pearl...finding exquisite beauty in a quite unexpected package. Josie Maran has been a name I have seen a lot in the last year, but had not taken the time to investigate as there was always a shower of goodies coming from Meg to pay attention to. I've seen it in magazines, at Sephora and online at the blogs. Being Green Chi Tuesdays I knew I'd get to it eventually so I simply overlooked it for the time being. WOW...was I missing out!
I first made acquaintance with Josie Maran via the simplistic packaging and luminous shades of her Lip Plumping glosses in a sheer and sumptuous Optimism. I AM optimistic...optimistic that everyone will love the soft golden hue's of this sweet and never sticky gloss. It wears beautifully and pairs perfectly with just about any base color. I used a darker stain to set in my lips and then accented the center of my pout with the Josie Maran Optimism and loved the look it gave me. Super bonus...this stuff is YUMMY. No, I don't mean it just smells good...it TASTES good and since its not sticky this means ALL LIPS ON DECK for some hubby smooching without the complaint of "muddy" lips and typical lip gloss taste.
I had to find out more! Enter our pearl...Josie Maran herself! Going online to www.josiemarancosmetics.com I quickly learned that this woman is serious about the responsibility of her products to our bodies and the earth as well. She has managed to blend organic ingredients with toxic free, paraben free, cruelty free, petrochemical free (petroleum based chemicals) products that are all recyclable. Not only that but they WORK! Many of her products are infused with Argan Oil which work in the place of petrochemicals to give you a more natural and beneficial beauty boost. Wow...what a knock out." Then it occured to me...this IS Josie Maran! The woman behind the brilliance is a triple threat business, brains and beauty TKO! She's a world renowned model, actress and even a kick ass independant mother who oozes sensuality and vitality. Bring on the Argan Oil. BUCKETS of it! Josie is my new hero (after you Meg!).

I went on the website, wow she is beautiful, I love the "Luminous Face Look" and it's great how she wants to give back to the world and be responsible, I may have to order the Earth day kit myself and try it out. My skin is so dry, I love the thought of using an oil on it. I never heard of Argan oil but am willing to try anything.
I've been reading about Argan Oil a lot lately, it's like a super-charged Vitamin E oil. Lots of ladies use Vitamin E oil instead of night creams with great success. I'm pretty tempted to try it myself.
I never really tried lip plumpers. I tried one once and it wasn't bad it was a pretty color and smelled pretty good. This plumper seems like its worth a try.
OoOo i never knew josie maran has a cosmetic line! all i ever knew was that she is absolutely gorgeous. I'm not a big fan of lip plumps though, since my lips are of a pretty decent size already, but i like the soothing effect :)

She definitely is gorgeous and I totally agree with her about the power of things like Argan oil. I checked the site out and love that she has this restoring oil available with bronzer in it. Now that is something I have not seen in green skincare like this. I love the color of the optimism lip gloss. Is the stain you used from her site too?

Actually the stain was from Beaute'...that deep red that we got a while back that was way too much on its own but goes beautifully with the Josie in Optimism. It was the Beaute' Liquid Gel stain in FEVER. Crazy awesome red but for me needed toning down. Its a great match with the soft brownish gold of the Josie.

But will it make my thin lips all plump and bigger? I dont need a miracle, just a bit of noticable difference. So far none of these plumpers has done a thing. I like the look of the gloss though.

Honestly...I have really thin lips and I've never used a lip plumper that I felt truly made a noticeable difference. This gloss plays up light enough that it gives a subtle illusion without the burn or tickle of some plumpers. However I don't feel like I'm getting really full lips with anything. It's just a great gloss on its own that happens to have a plumping factor. I'd recommmend it any way because its so gorgeous and just makes your lips look SO pretty!Sans cosmetic surgery I have accepted I'll always have thin lips!

SAG, I am ALWAYS wondering about stuff like that--like, who got the idea to throw some cheese in a cave and let it get all moldy before they eat it (delicious, btw). I haven't used Josie's products but I think she is so gorgeous and those lippies do look beautiful. I've gotta know her secret, she always looks so radiant.

Hey everyone...I forgot to mention you have to go on the website and click on the JMC video in the upper right hand corner. She explains how some of her packaging is made from corn and biodegrades in 30 days once thrown away. She is just TO TO TO TO adorable and sassy chic. I love her!

I love love love lip plumping glosses..they smell so good and look fabolous! Oh, you can always use a parcel forwarding service to have your plumping gloss shipped to you internationally. I have used a co in the past called Shipito. Hope this helps!

I've tried some lip plumping glosses but didn't really see results but I liked the gloss anyway. Also, I read somewhere that any plumping effects only last less than an hour. Don't know if this is true.
I love lip plumpers, but I heard they are REALLY bad for you, but sinc ethis is organic, is sounds pretty good.
Very intriguing, I like the look of the Argon Oil stick. I wonder if that is what is responsible for the luminosity on her face in the add, or if it is just a moisturizing stick. I get food grade Argan oil from my local Morrocan Deli, it's cheaper and unprocessed.

Sweetassgal, this is a brilliant post! You not only capture how great the gloss is, but how great Josie Maran and the brand is. I absolutely LOVE this line. I have been using it ever since it hit the market. I am ALL about organic, natural, environmentally-friendly products. That's why I live in Whole Foods (when I can afford it) :). I am also a huge Nude Lip fan. I always play up my eyes, so this lip gloss is the perfect color. Although, it doesn't stay on long...why...because it tastes so damn good I lick it off! I actually have yet to try the Argan Oil, so that is going to be my next purchase.
I love the Josie Maran stuff I've tried so far. I have the concealer in Linen,which I like alot. It is creamy and comes in an elegant lipstick style case. I also have one of her flirtatious lipstick and it is such a cool light texture. I really want to try her Argan oil and mascara! Josie is beautiful and down to earth.
I checked out some reviews of Josie's line on Sephora--and they were pretty mixed. I am saving up to buy the Argan oil because I have heard so many good reviews.
The Argan oil is the main thing I can't wait to try but as for the lip gloss...it's top notch and I can't imagine anyone not liking it. Unless they are expecting a HUGE plumping. I rely on the light this reflects to give the illusion of fuller lips and that's enough for me. Plumpers never work anyway.

Lol, I don't eat eggs exactly for the fact of what they are and where they come from. :XThat plumper looks terrific! Every plumper I've ever tried either stung and irritated my lips or didn't do anything. The colors all look gorgeous as well.I've heard of the benefits of argan oil and have meant to try it for some time.. I love my Vitamin E Oil, so it stands to reason that I'd love argan as well. I'm especially interested in the Argan Oil Moisturizing Stick.. that looks like one of the most convenient products ever! I love things like that that are not only good for your skin, but are versatile and can be used in different ways. I'm definitely lemming over a bunch of her products now, I just wish she didn't use lanolin in a lot of them.
This absolutedly does not sting...not at all.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Angie tried this stuff out on me and let me just say, i dont like lip glosses and i loved this stuff, not at first but as i sat there and looked at how it upplayed my (non-existing eyelidded) eyes, i started to love it! Its more of a neutral color, than a bright color, which i like! But its not sticky and you dont have liquidy strings of lip gloss when you open your mouth from the closed position

Ive never used lip plumpers before but ive always been interesting! iam afraid ill look like a swollen person or something! Maybe i will check this product out!!
I like lip plumpers but I have come to find that a lot of them do the plumping with painful stinging and the ones that don't sting get less plump - i suppose the two ratios go together but i'd love to know how this was and if there are any plumpers that wont make my eyes tear from the sting

I almost wish they'd take the "plumping" out of the title. It accents your lips but I don't think there are any worries about plumping lines in the long run or stinging. It's just a great gloss!

I love this line. I got the Plumping Gloss in Optimism as well. The color is a very pretty neutral, light, light, light brown, champagne-ish color. I like it by itself or paired on top of my favorite lipsticks. The texture is one of my favorite aspects, no goop-factor and it has great staying power.The tube gives an impressive amount, very generous portion and the brush applicator allows for precise application.I did notice some stinging but nothing uncomfortable. It wouldn't deter me from wearing it, in fact, I'm wearing it now! I can't wait to try more from this line, this woman has created some really cool products.I especially love it over my Smashbox Photo Finish Lipstick in Stunning. The two combined are.....stunning! ;)

I got this in Optimism. I can't say it "plumped" my lips, though I have learned over the years that lips that are moisturized look plumped. I tried was SAG said about using it over the hot pink flourescent lip stain from Beaute and that was a great combo. I liked it alone as a light nude type daytime wear. I liked this product though I liked Cat's Fleck better.

i like how lip plumpers feel. they give off a tingly feeling on my lips although i don't find that it does any "plumping" i still like the feeling. i've heard of this product line before but never really paid much attention. it looks interesting.

I would lovee to use this product-I love using lip plumpers and I think this product would leave a natural yet glamorous look. Does anyone know how much this sells for?
