JOYFUL BATH CO. BATH SALTS!

Stylemama here! Behind every independent beauty company is at least one person that had a passion for something that simply could not be ignored. Whether it began in childhood or was discovered as an adult, you can always pick up on the “it” factor that makes their product different and authentic.
Rochel Roland founder and Chief Bath Mixologist of Joyful Bath Co. has that special something and I am in LOVE with her bath salts.
Roland shares how her penchant for mixing and creating things gave birth to her company, “In kindergarten I collected rocks, leaves and other treasures in a Band-Aid tin and used my cool metal chemistry kit to see what I could create.” Many years later, the dream became a reality. How can you not adore a company with a philosophy that reads: We’d like to make your life a little more joyful and a little less complicated with the simple joy of a bath.
After the most FANTASTIC Labor Day Weekend ever, my day-to-day life seemed a little more stressful than usual. (I miss my sisters!) By the end of the week I was desperate for a long, hot soak in the tub. With the right products, lighting and partner, a nice bath can cure whatever ails you. I couldn’t wait to indulge in Joyful Bath’s ‘Nilla Buttermilk scented bath salts. It had the tastiest scent. Imagine the most delicious white chocolate laced with the perfect amount of vanilla. Two words: Yumm Meee!
It matters not the time of day or night I choose to bathe, within 2 minutes either my 70 pound German Shepherd, Riley or one or both of my daughters end up at the foot of the tub. This night wasn’t any different, until Riley simply could not help herself and plunged the front half of her body and entire head into my bath and quickly began lapping up the bath water. I couldn’t stop laughing, which only encouraged her even more. When I finally did get her out she sat there giving me that look that she saves for company standing too close to her Treat Jar. Funny, neurotic dog.
After only a few minutes of soaking, my dry, stressed out skin was soft and smooth. It felt moisturized without that heavy, oily feel that inferior bath products are loaded with. You know the kind that sits on top of your skin and leaves a ring in the tub. (What good is a relaxing bath if you have to spend the next ten minutes scouring away that icky film?) I would describe the scent in the jar as rich and strong, but by the time I dried off it was light and mild. Stylepapa described it as a “sweet-clean”. If you ask me, the perfect compliment to soft, sweetly-scented skin is a hot man waiting to take a whiff, cop a feel and share in your bath time delights.
Speaking of men, Joyful Bath Co. offers a Man Bath Bucket complete with his very own sports themed rubber duck and bungee cord. This fantastic company has something for everyone. Whether you’re in need of renewing, relaxing or recharging they’ve got you covered. I love the website and bath blog encouraging you to share your favorite scent, giving you the chance to win a free t-shirt if your story is published. Fun.
You’ll find only six different scents to choose from. I admire a company that keeps it simple and specializes in one impressive concept. All of their handcrafted bath salts are made with clean, organic salts and essential oils. They are free of parabens, preservatives and synthetic fragrances. There are no artificial colors or dyes and they DO NOT test on animals! With every purchase you’ll get a doorknob hanger that reads, “Shhh quiet please. Bath in progress.”
You’ve got to love quality bath products that are Made with Heart and Soul that come with a free doorknob hanger encouraging a healthier boundary system. ;)
Have you experienced these delightful bath salts? If so, how do you keep your dog out of the tub long enough moisturize and relax?

These sound delightful! I must check this company out. Great review wise, beautiful, and sassy Dawn! May you find continued relaxation with these yummy bath salts. I really appreciate your keen eye for these wonderful products from smaller companies!
I've always loved taking baths but haven't gotten to do so very often. Not that I started a waitressing job, though, a bath is all I want at the end of a long day, I think I've taken 3 already in the past week! I love great bath products, so I'll have to check this company out!
I'm going to try this, I am bath-obsessed! I take a bath every night, and sometimes, on my day off, an extra one in the day! I go through a ton of bath products, and I never seem to find new ones as often as I would like.
I love baths but as a busy mom with a full time job, I rarely get to enjoy one. When I do, they are heavenly. I have never had to share one with a dog, however, my black kitty loved to walk around the edge of the tub, intrigued by the bubbles. Occasionally, she'd fall in! I'd have to yell for dh to come rescue her :)

I love taking a long soaking bath, but I feel really guilty about wasting water. Anyone else? I haven't done it probably a year, and I have some amazing bath bombs from Lush that I want to use but won't.
I just try not to think about it...lol
I've always heard that baths use less water than showers, so use those bombs! (Isn't Lush wonderful?)
Lush IS wonderful! I'm going to have to try their bath bars instead. Bathing probably is less water than a shower, but a soaking bath? By the time my tub has finally filled up I could have showered 3 times without both faucets on full blast.
Wow you must have a huge tub! And two faucets, fancy schmancy lol. My tub is pretty teeny so I don't feel too wasteful.
I'm really concerned about wasting water so I don't take baths very often.Think about them like a beauty and a de-stressing treatment, something you do just monthly and it makes you feel really good.
Since last years drought problem in the southeast US I haven't used the bath in a very long time. Showers use a lot less water and are so much faster.
mmmmmmI could so go for a hot bath right now... I have been waiting for a chance to use the diana B bath gel that meg sent me.But... it's sunday, i've got school tomorrow, and Im cheating on my homework by visiting megs instead!!!!!!It's not gonna get itself done....:(These sound absolutly great though, thanks for the review!

These salts sound wonderful-especially the Ginger Snap scent. I don't have any advice to give about keeping the dog out of the tub... my water-loving kitty always winds up sitting on the edge of the tub, soaking her tail in the water, and sloooowly tapping the surface of the water with her paw. :)
I love baths! Your description of how it these smell really make me want some now. I love anything that smells like baked goodies. :)

I am not big on taking baths... Sitting in stagnant water seems unappealing but with these bath salts, I might try again!
i used to love taking baths. college changed all that and now i almost exclusively do showers.

I love baths!!!! I adore sitting in a tub with a good book and just laying there relaxing and reading--nothing better!I will def have to check this site out bc i'm looking for bath salts and....if anyone has any suggestions for good bath bombs that fizz and leave your skin nice and soft---please message me ;)thanks for the heads up on this product!
With every purchase you’ll get a doorknob hanger that reads, “Shhh quiet please. Bath in progress.” That is soooo adorable! I love that on megsmakeup a lot of these reviews support smaller companies, especially ones that are cruelty free!Happy bath time!
Always been a shower gal over baths but treating yourself to a good soak once in a while for a spa-like indulgence is always fun. Sounds like bath-lovers will really enjoy these products - and they have adorable packaging!
These sound awesome! My favourite bath salts are from Carol's daughter, and its lavender menthol scented, and boy does it take away the aches and pains!
I love taking baths, I take one everyday after work before I go to sleep for the day. I am always on the lookout for the most delicious relaxing bath products. I am definitely going to check out this company.
I don't take many baths; not enough time, and I HATE cleaning the tub after using bath bombs etc - what a mess! If these bath salts deliver moisture without a mess count me in!Thanks for the great review.
i haven't taken a bath in a very long time and i don't even have a bath tub in my house so i'm strictly a shower kind of gal. i've been longing to take a bath because from what i can remember, they are very relaxing. and another great thing about baths are all the products you get to use such as fragrant bath bombs and salts. the 'nilla buttermilk would be perfect for everyday baths, but the ginger snap scent would automatically take me to the fall&winter. our lovely meg recently sent me a cupcake shaped bath bomb from Moon's Harvest and i am really wanting to use it....i just have to find a bath tub first!

Stylemama you've made me long for my bath all over again! Unfortunately when I moved inter-state to be with The One I Love I was forced to leave my precious bath behind. Oh the agony of it all!!!Of course I still bought all of my beautiful bath-bombs and melts and delicious bubble-bars with me and have to be contented snurfling them in my cupboard drawer when I need a scent-based pick-me-up.I have a bath maybe twice a year, if I'm lucky and they're always at hotels or a friends' house. I used to partake in a bathing ritual every week! It's been hard to adjust, let me tell you. :|
wow the product sounds great! i never bought bath salts before, but i really wanted to try. i didnt know if they would be amazing or unsatisfying. but thanks to you, i know that this is a brand that i should keep an eye out for. Hopefully i'll be able to find it :) this would have been great for relaxing last year after hours of studying for college classes @.@ and it would have been an amazing stress reliever. i love how you described the product and the product information you posted. It sounds wonderful, its makes me want to buy one right now xD and indulge. haha. i'm so glad it uses organic ingredients, im not a big fan of preservatives >.< its better to use what nature has created :) thanks
Oh dear, I haven't had a bath in about 6-7 years since I moved into my new home.. the bath tub is pretty much abandoned, no one goes near it, you'd find a few odd bugs in there sometimes. but when I did take baths, I loved bathsalts!!! my mum always get lemony ones. my friend is crazy about bath bombs!

NY bathtubs are almost always nonworking tubs and work best as showers lol. I find that I'm way too lazy to scrub the tub so I can sit in it (there are dirty feet and pets that liaise in the tub in between), and then to spare extra long time to soak. When I went to a bed and breakfast a while back, I had used the bath salts they gave us in the room, but I much rather prefer the little fizzies that you can just plop in the water.

Wow! I can't wait to get my hands on some of these and after checking out the site I was really impressed with their price. For an alternative to additive filled products these are pretty good price. Thanks for the great review. We all love bath time!
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough
i have never tried these but i do love bath salt and the fizzy balls that you throw in the bathtub
Thanks Ladies! You will love this line, I can't wait to try their other scents. These salts would make lovely gifts for friends and family. Plus, you'll love the packaging, it's so lovely.I must admit, I never thought about my bath water being environmentally unfriendly. I have enough guilt, I just can't go there on this too. I feel good about my other green choices so I'm keeping the occasional bath ritual around.
I literally had an addition built onto our 100 yr. old house so I COULD have a proper bathtub installed,LOL! :)It's not something I hold guilt about,I do my share in regards to conserving water in other ways here on our ranch...it's my refuge and therapy to be able to indulge in a luxury bath and I cannot WAIT to have some of these, awesome product and review!!!NOTHING is nicer than lowering myself into a bubbling tub in the evening and my husband is trained to knock before entering,LOL! Love that stylemama has "company" though. :)Salts are excelllent for drawing toxins from the body and I think these sound like the perfect item to indulge in!!!Stylemama: I am still having withdrawals, trust me.
It is so funny to me that one weekend with 7 amazing women and 1 incredible man could have such a profound effect on my psyche. I have to tell you as I was sitting in my living room on Saturday afternoon working on a quilt for my nephew I half sighed thinking that just one week before I was on my way to the Grenada in SLO for wine and cheese! Oh ladies...how you have all touched my heart. MISSES YOU much!I am a long time devotee of the bath. I've reviewed on it lots. I just NEED NEED NEED to soak to rejuvenate my soul. I honestly don't think I use more water in a tub than running my shower since I don't fill up the whole tub and I don't have one of those big jetted tubs. But I do love anything I can drop into the bath and bath salts are always way up on the list as long as the scent is effective and they properly dissolve. These dissolve quickly and soak right into your skin so your butt isn't sitting on gritty sand leaving little dimple impressions in your skin! Inferior bath salts don't melt fast enough and always leave grit. This wonderful line does not...they just leave you taking in the gorgeous scent and rubbing the sweet softness of your skin. You also don't need a lot for the effect either so the jar should last a while. I LOVE Lush but sometimes I have a hard time dropping in a $6 bath melt for just ONE bath.Great company and I love supporting the smaller more passionate business. It is truly JOYFUL!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Oh yeah...I got the mellow yellow scent which is hard to describe but it works fantastically at soothing your muscles and relieving stress. That's the best thing a bath can do if you ask me! Any mom would concur.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
I KNOW GIRLS, ME TOO! Stylemama misses her sisters desperately!
Fabulous! I love baths and anything that goes into it. Awesome to that the company does not test on animals and is free of parabens/synthetics! I have got to check this out, thanks for the review and feature.
It's funny you brought up your dog jumping in to your bath...My dog, Riley (weird they have the same name...but mine is a pug) just jumped into my bath on Saturday. He decided it wasn't fair for his "mama" to have the bath all to herself and he just jumped in. Dogs! As for the product you reviewed...oh how I want this. I can practically smell it in the room with me (and it's making me hungry). I am in total agreement with you about those cheap bath salts and products. They really do leave a film on me and my tub. I don't use them anymore because I hate that...who doesn't. I have already added this to my wishlist for Christmas, which my dear husband will have to deal with. I can't wait to lay in a nice, warm, sweetly scented bath. (and all thanks to you)!

Great review (as always), stylemama. I am reminded that I need some more bath salts. Of the two of us, my hubby is definitely more of a bath person -- he even has his own bath pillow. I think the Man Bath Bucket would be a great gift for him. Whenever anyone is taking a bath, it's our cat that loves to visit. He likes to walk around the perimeter of the tub. He is one strange (but insanely lovable) beast!
Great review, Stylemama! It made me want a bath so badly! We have one large jacuzzi-size tub, but never enough hot water to fill it! It makes me miss the two old claw foot tubs that came with the house. We removed them when we renovated the three bathrooms. Oh well, when I used to have my loft apartment in downtown Hartford, I would take a bath every night. It was so much more relaxing than washing my makeup off at the sink. I love any chore you can do sitting down!

What a great review! I LOOOVE bath salts but I haven't had a bathtub for months because of this old ass house I am living in.. thankfully we are moving soon so I will have a nice fresh bath tub and I will definitely be checking out these bath salts then!!
i love bath salts.... i used to have a big jar of lavender salts from Wal Mart, and it relaxed me and helped me sleep so much... i didnt notice much effect on my body, but aromatherapy was great!
Stylemama-I swear you find the best stuff(god made you sound like a drug dealer).love that its so good for us the planet and the animals in it.mjred I hear you with the tub obsession we knocked our big bathroom (currently part of long slowwwww renovation)so at the moment we only have showers and am suffering withdrawl symptoms-better get one hell of an expensive tub after this wait(my dream bathroom would be a clive christian)-oops-Im veering towards my interior design obsession now-back to the bath products. So Im going to be seeking these out -a ton of them for guilt free bathing when the renovation is complete.gem and style mama love the animal stories I once had to get a horse out of our kitchen, your life would make a great sitcom style mama-get writing!!!.Great idea with the door knob hanger-now if you can just teach riley to read.

I love to indulge in a nice, relaxing bath...and these bath salts sound scrumptious! I am a huge fan of products that smell yummy and anything that helps me relax (I am a mom of 2 teens so relaxation is WAY up there on my to-do list!) Now which to choose? I am thinking of buying the bath variety 6 pack to try all the scents, although I love the full size jars! And the bath buckets are too cute! OK off to place an order...and looking forward to a nice, relaxing bath with some new yummies! ♥
"Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones..."
MMM.. The Nilla Buttermilk sounds sooo good! <3 While reading this i was trying to remember the last time i even took a bath! I CANT REMEMBER!!! The Door hangy thing is a cute touch! Dont you love when companys are super cute like that!!I have a silly dog story.. I was trying the Mark. Skin care system It was dark chocolate and blue berry and my Great Dane would not stop licking my face!! hehe You story just reminded me of that time! <3
I'm not really a bath person so I don't really indulge in bath product..I have heard of these before though. A B&B I stayed at in St. Augustine had these to use in thier enormous spa tub so I have tried them as well, nice just not me!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
I adore this site! I love these products, I've never tried these out, but I definitely plan too. I love independent beauty companies-I'm an Etsy addict! I really want to get some quality bath products, because Bath and Body Works isn't cutting it for me anymore.
These sound lovely... If only I could have a bath, we are on water shortages/ restrictions... So just showers here... I havnt had a bath for YEARS!!
This brand is a new one to me but one I will definately try out! I love bath products and particularly bath salts! I'm sorry Lanz that you haven't had a bath in years! You poor thing!
these bath salts sound amazing. i'm a huge fan of bath salts. although i no longer have a bathtub, this would be great gifts.
AHH!! I WANT THOSE LOLi love taking bathes<3
Ahhh, nothing like a relaxing soak. Truly an underrated pleasure. I need to do this soon.
