MURAD ESSENTIAL-C DAY MOISTURIZER SPF 30

Meg here! I am going to tell you my VERY FAVORITE INGREDIENT for my face. I don't care who it is by-If Vitamin C is the main force in a face product my skin just drinks it up. I'm a smoker and I am trying to cut back before I quit. I hear (I know, aside from the fact it is going to kill me) that it depletes vitamin C from your body. A rational person would quit the cancer sticks. I headed to GNC to buy these really yummy vitamin C round wafer tablets that tasted so so good. I used to get very annoyed when my mother would only let me have one Flinstone vitamin! I mean, between Dino and Wilma, gosh, who could pick?
Any how, I really liked those vitamin c wafers in the big tub. They were so good. I ate them like potato chips watching a movie one night (I do not advise this and I only pulled this stunt once because I then proceeded to pee for hours straight.) There was a reason my mother had the flinstone vitamins on the top shelf!
Back to beauty Meg! This is not vitamin anonymous! I love Ole Henriksen's Truth Serum, I love Lumene's Vitamin C Drops, and now everyday before I go out in my hot little convertible...I love Murad's Essential-C Day Moisturizer. The SPF 30 is making this moisturizer making the top-down cut.
It really feels like it is replenishing my parched skin. The vitamin c is absorbed quite quickly on my face. I say it takes only a feel minutes to sink in there before I can apply my make-up for a no-stick just protective canvass.
Murad is one of the top selling skincare lines in the country (U.S.) so I can't be the only one on the bandwagon. I always liked the line, but now that they have vitamin c? I LOVE THE LINE!
I love it like a fat kid loves cake, or a lazy women too tired to go to the supermarket and buy chips snacks on a GNC tub of vitamins. All sorts of wrong people!!
I promise not to eat my Essential-C Moisturizer even though it is extremely delicious!
Who else out there loves this and all vitamin c based products?

I've never tried anything with vitamin C on my face. I will though if I come across some on a shopping trip.

I haven't tried this yet, but I do think vitamin C in general (and topically) does great things for my skin. I have a little bottle of the Philosophy vitamin C powder (I think it's changed names since I got it), and I mix it in w/ my regular spf moisturizer in the morning to have an extra antioxidant boost. Vitamin C doesn't stay stabilized very long when it's already mixed in, so this is a way to save money instead of buying super high potency creams that may expire sooner than you would like. It's good that this Murad moiturizer is in a tube, that helps to stabilize the vitamin C as it has less exposure. I'll have to try this and some of the others you mentioned!
vitamin c does not like me.solid fact.everytime i have tried to take itmy stomach burns like the devil. Now you propose i put it on my skin, mmm, I used to use the Avon Vitamin C. Clear yellow thick fluid in a smallish bottle, never seemed to do a thing.
Yes, darling,i still stubbornly smoke... cigarettes are sometimes my closest friends, especially when i am up in the middle of the night with the owies. Getting old is definitely not for sissies is it. I use a wonderful microdelivery peel from Philosophy , it definitely ha c in it it tingles on the tongue. I shall have to look into your suggestions.what i really loved were the orange flavored baby aspirins, i ate a whole bottle one, wheni was 6oh well, didn't die, so they couldn't have been too bad for you.

I LOVE vitamin C but haven't tried it on my face. And with a brand like Murad it's got to be good! I was always indecisive about which vitamin to choose too. And I secretly wish I could eat a whole container of those gummy bear vitamins I see in Costco! Oh the choices!
So just a side note... Be really careful about the vitamin C wafers.I used to tae this chewable vitamin C everyday And OMG they were SO GOOD!!!! I ate like alot of them in a day, which is cool cause you cant OD on vitamin C. BUTMy dentist noticed some severe wear on my enamal and asked me If i was drinking acidic things. I told him about the tablets and he said chewable vitamin C can eat away at your enamal pretty quick. It is an acid. :( So I stopped, but I always think about how good they were ;) Lol I still just take the plain ol boring swallow it down vitamin C though.Ok now that thats over... lolI have heard alot of ladies on here talking about their serum they got from you and it sounds great. I can only imagine the benefits you can get from topical application.Lol And try harder to quit smoking!!! You will have a whole new skin, an hair, and nails and LUNGS!!So many benefits to not stop!

i've never tried any facial moisturizers with Vitamin C but i'm sure it works wonders. the only time i actually take vitamin C is when i get sick, but i probably should take them more often. after reading this post, i googled vitamin C and some news popped up from a study in Portugal...."A new study shows how vitamin C is helpful in wound healing, as well as its ability to act as a skin protector, making it a vital ingredient in skin care products for fighting free radicals and DNA damage." -http://www.skininc.com/skinscience/ingredients/59012082.html

I LOVE MURAD ESSENTIAL-C MOISTURIZER. Meg sent it to me and I LOVE IT. Thank you so so much, I wouldn't have ever tried this had you not sent it, since I was pretty committed to Avon Anew, but this is making me change my mind. I take a C tablet every night, along with a multi-vitamin, fish oil, calcium, biotin, lysine, zinc, and iron. Oh and a B vitamin. I'm a bit obsessed with vitamins.
Meg sent me Murad vitamin C moisturizer and the serum, I really like both of them. The moisturizer smells like fresh oranges! Fresh and clean and orange! My skin feels so good after using the moisturizer. Its not greasy and the aroma is subtle. I have never seen or used a skin moisturizer with vit. C before.Meg is so good at sending me products that fit my needs, she is better then good she is GREAT !! I had read a few good articles about Murad "before" I had gotten it from Meg, so imagine my delight when I opend my package and there was 2 skin care products from Murad!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Meg - you are HILARIOUS.I steal my sisters Avon's Vitamin C serum sometimes. But I don't think I have used it enough yet to see any real difference. I can feel it tightening my skin when I use it though! I'll definately start to use it a bit more now from the sounds of it!(Who knows, I may even buy my own!)
hmmmm....I don't think i've ever tried a vitamin c product (but when i was a kid my grandpop used to keep a bottle of vitamin c in the fridge and dole them out to us when we were good).....If you've never tried them cold--i recommend!!!What exactly does vitamin C do for our skin???? anyone?
Vitamin C has many topic effects. It has anti photo aging properties to fight off sun damage, it increases collagen production which helps with anti aging and skin renewal and has anti immflamitory properties.
As some one mentioned it can help even out skin tone.
Since vitamin C is an antioxidant it neutralizes free radicals on the skin that can cause cancer.
It is absorbed almost immediately into the skin and cant be washed off like other lotions or topicals.
:D so many benefits from one little vitamin.

I love this moisturizer also and Vitamin C is listed as one of the top 7 most important things for your skin to keep it healthy and looking young. I also like the Murad Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer.
Style may be on the surface, but you can be deep and still have some - Clarissa Gough
In the past I've been told that topical vitamin C is only effective if mixed with liquid immediately prior to usage. I haven't been told this recently though, so maybe they've come up with a way to keep the C active while suspended in moisture.

I use a little vitamin C in my facial spray. It's like Enkore's homemade mixing medium with some variations, and I found the recipe on the Everyday Minerals forum. It works very well to set my makeup, and whenever I need a pick me up I'll spray a little.
I'm loving this moisturizer too (thanks Meg!), but the SERUM (again, thanks Meg!!) is absolutely amazing and also contains vitamin C. My skin looks so even and radiant thanks to that stuff, it is a really great product!
Just chiming in to say that I love this stuff too, even though I've already mentioned it a few times on here! I know it's pretty pricey, so I'm not sure if I would repurchase it on my own. The Beyond Belief brand from Sally has a Vitamin C line that's very nice and reasonable, unfortunately the Moisturizer is only SPF 15. One of the best thing about this one is the SPF 30!
I have been totally digging on Vitamin C lately as well. Especially in serum form. I feel like serums are an excellent alternative for my oily/greasy face. They are light and yet pack a dramatic punch! So I have been trying to sample nice, effective serums. My latest was found for cheap at TJ Maxx but can also be found at drugstore.com. It is called 40 Carrots Carrot and Vitamin C Serum. It is very light. It feels great on my face. Of course I can't yet say what the long term benefits will be. But I do know that it does not make me greasy or any more pimply. Also I can wear it under anything if I want to which is a major plus. For me product layering often equals an overload with major greasy face! Not so with this excellent serum. This is a nice and inexpensive way to get your daily dose of vitamin c!!
I love Vitamin C, and I heard it is GREAT for balancing out your skin tone. A lot of companies that have really good Vitamin C in it are REALLY pricey though. I was gonna buy one, but the little serum was like $80. I had to pass on it, but this product sounds great even though the price is a little up there as well. Maybe when my skin REALLY needs it, I'll go for it, but in the mean time, my skin isnt TOO bad with what I got now.
I really really want to use this after hearing so much about it. Must save up first though.
i haven't tried this one but i am a fan of vit C products for sure. years ago i had some lovely avon vit c stuff and now i like the jason ester c avalon vit c ranges. :) jackie x
I have not tried this product and vitamin e and c aregood for you
I've never really believed in adding vitamins from the outside, but rather eat them in the forms of delicious oranges in season and drink them in the form of rose-hip soup in the autumn.Though, I know the skin is a breathing, living thing...And that I ought to. Perhaps this would be a good first step, since I'm also bad about not using SPF? ;)Thanks for the review, it has definitely given me something to think about. Adding vitamins to my skincare routine too. :)
Ladies Vit. C is an essential part of skincare! When using vitamins for skincare it's best to apply topically because if you eat them the nutrients get absorbed by the body before they make it to your skin. Vit. C is an anti-oxidant, it helps stimulate collagen and helps keep your existing collagen alive. It helps with redness, rosacea and uneven skintone. You have to be careful what product you use though because Vit. C and be unstable meaning a short shelf life if not formulated corectly. I use it everyday and love it I use Hi-Plutonic C http://cosminology.com/proddetail.php?prod=HI-F15. It's silky smooth and easily absorbs, just like Meg said.

I take a multi vitamin with Vitamin C in it, that's about where my involvement with Vitamin C stops. I would really like to try some of those capsules that lots of companies sell that contain vitamin c. I have acne, so I've tried Murad's Acne products. I wasn't very impressed. They dried out my skin so badly that I had to discontinue use. They also make my face turn bright red. My guess would be I was allergic to something in the ingredients, so I've steered clear from Murad since.
I've tried quite a few Murad products, and they all smell yummy, like oranges. I keep using them because they work, and smelling like fruit doesn't hurt.

At least I know I am not the only one who LOVES to eat those tastey vitamins. I have the One-a-day vitamins far adults (in gummer bear form) and I hate that I can only at two per day. I know I could eat the whole jar right up.I have been waiting to try some Murad products. The reviews I read are always 1/2 good and 1/2 bad. I don't like to risk making my skin breakout. At $60, I know I won't buy this product but mostly because it's an spf (which I don't use...because I pretty much never go outside).

Well I did try a super super super tiny Murad Vitamin C Eye cream or something from the Sephora Sun Protection Kit. I like it b/c it has an SPF 15, but it stings a lot if I accidentally get it in my eye. The only other experience I have with Vitamin c is from oranges and its twenty million denominations (OJ, clemintines, mandarins...) As far as eye stuff, I am loving my Korres Primrose Deluxe sample with SPF 6 too. Please stop making me want things I don't need (I have lots of moisturizers for my dry skin) :>! Murad is causing serious lemmings.
I have a tiny sample of this stuff from sephora, I guess I need to break it out to try, I keep seeing the raves. I vow to try it when i finally get out of my pjs and off the couch.
Vitamin C is just incredible. I too am a HUGE fan of the Lumene Vit C drops and I can always immediately tell what a difference it makes. I am a Murad fan too because I always seem to find their products do what they say and to have their level of expertise combined with Vitamin C is just a win win. Vitamin C is like a drink of water for my skin. Especially if its the day after a few too many martinis and I am dehydrated. A BIG glass of water and some vitamin C moisturizer are just what I need.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
I LOVE MURAD ESSENTIAL-C MOISTURIZER too Meg sent it to me it's fab thanks Meg I love it and would never have bought it either so thank you x x
Agree! my brother had horrible acne when he was a teen and believe me we tried everything(proactiv included)! The acne continued into his twenties until he tried the murad system within a week he stop getting new pimple and within 2 weeks the old ones dried up and dissappeared. He still has scars but thanks to the pomegranate exfoliating mask(and meg) they are fading. I would recommend any murad product to everyone, which I do!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
Hi Meg and everyone.. yeah I like the idea of vit c on my face.. I change my moisturizer alot cos i get bored, but right now i use the Avalon vit c daily moisturizer http://avalonorganics.com/?id=86.I like it well enough.. a tad on the sticky side.. but only for a while as it settles in. The one i have doesnt have spf so that is a problem though there is an spf version. Good for under makeup it says and I find that to be true. I think I might try your one see how they compare since although I like the Avalon one, I do feel I could do with a little more moisturizing than it gives.
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
I have been using this for several weeks and I really like it! Its not greasy, not watery, not too thick. Smells yummy! I feel like my skin really drinks it up and keeps a healthy glow when I use this consistently.
I LOVE VitC gummy bears and limit my intake to 2....I could however gobble down the jar.My face however hates the stuff and ow I wish I could love it more...it gives me lil' bumpy-wumpys that are not nice. :(I love that so many are fans of Murad however,it's a stellar line!
The few Murad products that I have tried didn't work well for me. Philosophy has a Vitamin C powder that you can add to anything, but I don't know anyone who has tried it. It's $35 at Sephora.
I smoke too and take tons of vitamin C. I've been looking for a cream with vitamin C, but haven't been able to find a natural one that I like. Is this one natural?
ive never had a vitamin c moisturizer but i do love those vitamin c fruits! and those delicious gummies with vitamin c added. yum yum.
I'd love to try Murad. I have some powdered vit. c that I brush on my face after moisturizing. Makes me think... I don't get enough vit. c. Suddenly I am craving OJ lol.

Wow, I just had the best [worst?] imagery from reading about your eating your vitamin C like potato chips! You're a riot Meg. ;DI haven't looked into Vitamin C skincare as yet, can't say I've noticed it on our shelves. I will keep a look out for it however. I really should start using some kind of moisturiser - at the moment I've been getting away with just my Rosehip oil used twice a day.. :|
I had to stop buying Flinstone vitamins because I would just keep eating them, they are soooo good. I also like to eat St. Joseph baby aspirins. I haven't tried this from Murad but have tried some of their other products and loved them. Since vitamin C is one the the antioxidants it has to be good for you. I would definitely give this a try.
i never tried the product before. but i have used their acne line. it didn't really work on me though. but they had this one product for pimples and zits and it was amazing. it was wonderful for day whens your face decides to SURPRISE you with a horrible pimple right after a stressful night or right before picture day.
I got this from you MEG and I am totally in love this is the ebst stuff i ever put on my face !!! I am using it daily the scent is addicting ! the sensasion is AMAZING and my skin absorbe this pretty quickly my skin LOVES vitamin C !Thank you Meg I couldn't ask for somthing BETTER !
Chloe http://thehollywoodheels.blogspot.com
i received this as one of my products when i redeemed my points and i gotta say that i love it i don know if i would ever be able to buy it being its a little pricey for me
I am allergic to murad..I bought the system two years ago and totally broke out! hehe and unfortunately meg sent me the pomegranate mask so I had to give it to my lucky ass roomie. that gives me a thought Hhmm..she might like this.
Beauty=Pain
love my vit C but there is also a danger of overdosing on it- -please be careful with your daily dosage ladies! i never paid attention to my skincare product ingredients- i should check them out and see if they have vit C in them!
I love my products from Murad...my due to my acne prone skin, I usually use Murads skin perfecting moisturizer. But I am also a huge fan of vitamin C products for the skin and Murad's Vitamin C moisturizer delivers! Plus it smells yummy...which is always a big plus in my book! Use this product and skin is hydrated and fresh, very soft, and not at all oily. Another plus - this moisturizer did not aggravate my acne at all, which I seem to have under control (finally!) My skin has a beautiful healthy glow. Love this product! ♥
"Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones..."
Ooh, this would be a nice product to try. Some Murad stuff is kind of nice. The SPF is the icing on the cake.
I still take vitamin c sometimes ESP coming into winter with all the flus around. They taste so good! Havnt tried it on my skin though I've heard it's fantastic
