GETTING TO KNOW MARCO PELUSI! I KNOW HIM AND TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM!

Meg hair! I know we have been doing a Meghead Spotlight almost everyday and you ladies seem to really like them. You know who deal's with Meg's head (hair specifically) THE BEST COLORIST IN THE WORLD MARCO PELUSI!! Yeah, I'll go there! He's always giving you ladies such amazing advice and I see the vibrant colors and new self-esteem boosts from the women that leave his chair. You know why I love him? For all his accolades and celebrity and talent...He's an exceptionally kind human being. Now, that's beautiful. So without further ado, please get to know what makes this hair maestro tick!
My name and hometown... Marco Pelusi, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
My start in life was to do this... Act, perform, entertain ...
The path I took towards cosmetics was driven by this... A natural ability to style my mom's, sisters', and all of my friends' hair; as well as growing up with a family-owned chain of hair salons in Pittsburgh; and hearing about it every night at dinner .... (and I still perform onstage teaching at hair shows!)
I want all women to know this about themselves... The best of beauty is to feel comfortable; without comfort, you can't feel beautiful ...
My goal is to bring each user of my products this... To make your color-treated hair feel like it did 10 years ago, even within one usage ....
I believe in all of my products but if I could urge each woman to try this one ... Marco Color Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard! It's the signature product -- the hero, if you will. This product, after one usage, opened the door for the Marco system to be sold at very high end, exclusive retailers throughout our Los Angeles area. Carol Alt, supermodel, actress, and author, asks me to ship her GALLONS of this product, as she cannot live without it. As a matter of fact, the most difficult, challenging hair (and sometimes personalities!) are aided by my Leave-In, and cannot go without it. Almost every person who tries it MUST reorder it. It allows even fine textured hair to be less frizzy, and to allow for an easy comb-through; but also, the very densely coarser textured hair LOVES the leave-in as well. The Collagen Color Guard in my products is most heavily concentrated in this signature product. The ingredients in this product are an identical mix of the most exclusive, high-end skin care you can find; it's so wonderful, it can even be used as a hand cream! It's simply a must-try!
Style influences vary, I would say my style is most like this... European attitude -- whatever we say goes!
I started my line because I couldn't find this... I spent so much time creating and building other companies' product lines -- I had no choice but to do my own. I refused to place an 'opening order' with any other manufacturer when I opened my studio on Robertson in West Hollywood -- and I didn't!
I deliver this with each product... I had to have a complete system to preserve my clients' color. Each product is specifically built to prevent premature color fade. Clients notice immediately if they use another product.
When I see a women make this mistake I cringe... When I see a woman using home haircolor -- and pulling it through the entire hairshaft -- and continuously damaging her hair. This is so difficult for the hair to take.
My products care about the way you look like no one else's because of this... I personally, painstakingly, achingly worked to provide the very, very best in quality. I have spared no expense for the ingredients in my products. In addition, no one has collagen the way I do in each product for the hair. It's in a few hair products, but no one has carefully included collagen in an entire system. The collagen fills in the holes in your hair created by the color.
Lastly, if I were at a bar I'd order this... A green apple martini!
True or False, I'm going to tell you when there's spinach between your teeth... TRUE!
I just love him to pieces and I appreciate all of the candor and wisdom and love Marco takes out of his extremely busy day to answer our questions so we too can have A-List info. Thank-you from the bottom of my hair shaft Marco!
Who hair (never gets old) has used some of the advice Marco has generously given us on Megsmakeup.com and gotten stellar results? How about his products or hair color? Anyone care to chime in?

I have used the advice that he gave me for curly hair with very excellent results. I am experiencing more volume and less frizz. I still need to put in an order for a few of his products. I am really looking forward to trying them. Marco has been very kind and generous with his time and advice! Thank you. And thank you for making our Meg even more gorgeous then she already is!!
Ha I love this! Wow your website is very flashy and modern. I dont think Ive seen a more put together website in a while. The leave in conditioner sounds intriguing. I love leave ins, my hair always feels so good afterwards.I was blessed with a great hairstylist... then I moved.... and it;s bad here.... so bad that Ive been letting my hair grow out... and its starting to get all two toned and gross!! and my roots are like half an inch and really dark!!! hahahIm gonna have to cave and find a stylist here.I used to home dye, and I will never go back. Plus I can do so much more with a stylist, highlights, low lightsI get the works!!! also why I havnt gone in so long is I never leave the alon without spending at least 200 bucks :(Great to get to know some details about the guy that gives us GREAT hair advice! Keep it coming!!
Tan is Love
I love Marco's website! Just checked it out and I'm already convinced I need to get highlights and that maybe the "box dyes" are not such a great idea. I always wondered why my color looked like crap. :)

I love these "getting to know you", and I like that members and contributors are both being featured!
"True or False, I'm going to tell you when there's spinach between your teeth... TRUE!"Hehe I love this...My BF is TERRIBLE about that--he NEVER tells me when I have stuff in my teeth and I am a freak about that kind of thing, to the point that I don't eat popcorn because I hate getting it in my teeth!I love that we're getting to know everyone, it's so much fun!
I really admire people who dont worry about money, and cost when creating a product. Why buy crappy ingredients and have customers unsatisfied, when you can buy better, higher end ingredients, and sell it at a high price, and make the same amount of profit anyway? Id rather buy something expensive that I KNOW works, and I dont need a lot of it to work, than to spend $5 on something that doesnt do the job it promised. I REALLY REALLY admire that about him, and I think it's great that he strives to leave people satisfied and happy with their hair.
I always read your hair blog posts for fun and it's nice to finally get to know the author!I don't color my hair (anymore that is), so I can't really recommend anything.
There was some good advice he gave about straightening hair awhile ago, and trying to not flatten hair completely, I've been doing that and liking the results :)On a completely random note, I'm from the greater Pittsburgh area and never realized that Marco was from Pittsburgh. Very cool!
Thanks for the "get to know you" on Marco...it's an interesting and funny read. I haven't used his products (most of what I use is just store bought...like Walmart & Target). I am very interested in the Marco Color Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard! It looks and sounds so nice...besides, who doesn't want to get rid of frizz.

He seems like such a free spirited guy and who can not love a person from PA!!! It's amazing that i'm 36 and have never colored my hair (not even highlights)....I'm even amazed that i haven't done it!His products sound great but...I do not use sulfates or silicones (it makes it very tough to find products).I really enjoyed reading this...it made him more realistic to me :0
Totally agree with everyone else, I love these "getting to know you" features! Marco seems fantabulous! I have never colored my hair but if I did...I wouldnt be able to use at home coloring kits.
I would tell you if you had spinach between you teeth too, because I would want someone to tell me. I haven't used his coloring advice because I only color my hair once a year and that is at the end of the summer when I stop surfing and being out in the sun 24/7. My hair is usually a nasty burnt brown and dark blonde with bleached split ends by the end of september( my natural color is medium/dark brown) so I dye my hair black to mask the rainbow! BUT in one of his posts he said to alternate shampoos to deal with flat hair and I have to tell you I most certainly do not have flat hair but I have dry hair and split ends so i thought matbe i can alternate between a moisturizing shampoo and an extreme hair repair shampoo..so i did. The results are AMAZING! My hair is still multicolored but not so dry and not so brittley strawy splitty(my own words)! I need the moisturizing of the one shampoo because it doesn't strip my hair and I need the silicone and folicle fillers of the other to fix my poor split ends. For this I thank you! When I go to Ulta in two weeks to get my hair masked by the black hair color I will talk endlessly of my love for Marco and my wishes of getting my hair done by him..(long overdramatic sigh)!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
Hi! Thanks for straightening tip a while back!! Your website looks amazing. I've never colored my hair before. If I do, I would want it to be either really dark black (its brown-black now) or blonde! Do you think that would look good on an asian?
I can see why the leave-in is his signature product. It is AMAZING. After only using it ONE time my curls were softer, less fizzy, more manageable and looked amazing even after sleeping on it all night. Usually my hair looks really bad the next morning when worn curly. This product really simplifies things and extends the look of your do. Awesome! Can the he do no wrong? I love him and I've never even met the man!
Thank you Marco! It was lovely to get to know the real Marco. Looking forward to many more posts from your lovely self. Cheers! /Holds up apple martini
im pretty low maintenance on hair, but i did get some useful info from previous artcles by Marco. Great job!
I love that he seems so down to earth and is willing to help us. I will look into his products and advice for curly hair.
Mmm, green apple martini. (Virgin, though.) Sounds delicious! How involved is a person in the development of skin and hair products? Do they absolutely know about every ingredient or do they rely on a private label manufacturer to provide the base to which they add a couple ingredients? Always curious about that.
I really wish someone would do over my hair and know what they are doing. Sigh.
i love take care of my hair !!! thanks for the post !!!
great post, although this may be the first or second one I have seen from him in my time hair (lol) so I hope to see more. And Green Apple Martini's, yummmmmm!
Thanks for all of your advice! Although it's great to have all of the input from all of the lovely members here, it's even better to have an expert chime in sometime and either prove us right or shed new understanding on what we're doing wrong.
xoxo

I must say thank you for the tips. Made me think about my own hair routine (or the lack of it).
He's fabulous! I have used his types for cutting hair in the salon and styling. I love reading his article cause I always learn something new for get reminded of something I forgot and I take that info and use it to better my skills in the salon.

I'm partial to men from Pittsburgh, so I love Marco without knowing him! (My husband is a Pittsburgher!) Thanks for the tips, Marco.
